Is the QB position a roadblock to expansion?
SageAgainstTheMachine replied to The Red King's topic in The Stadium Wall
I couldn’t tell you how it figures into the NFL’s decision making but it’s a practical roadblock in my opinion. Types of games like Titans/Texans and Browns/Saints today will become even more the norm. -
I'm always curious about what people mean by a complete game. A game with no mistakes? Well that happens once in a blue moon. Cincy is tough but not some historic juggernaut. Maybe we'll turn the ball over to them and then they'll cough it up right back. You just need more points at the end of 60 minutes.

NFL Week # 16 - Bills at Bears - post game thread
SageAgainstTheMachine replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t agree with this characterization. The three close losses to the Jets, Dolphins and Vikings are completely balanced by the tight wins against the Lions, Ravens and Chiefs. The way small sample variance goes we could be anywhere between 9-6 and 15-0, so 12-3 represents the team’s accomplishments well. -

Week 16: Bills at Bears on Christmas Eve
SageAgainstTheMachine replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
First, thank you. Second, no. I think it's perfectly fine to have a winter sport where winter weather plays a big part. It's a great thing. But when you start hearing things like a pressure system similar to a category 3 hurricane? I think we need to be better about just shutting things down and doing them on a less dangerous day. -

Is it better as time marches on to have more respect or less respect for hazardous travel conditions? Speaking as someone with a loved one who's died from it, your assertion that people used to be tougher and better means less than nothing to me. -

There's also just a complete lack of respect for what a disaster snow conditions can be. I'm growing frustrated about these stories about holiday travel that don't explicitly say "Just don't go anywhere or you may die." -
Do you think this is a gotcha?

It's crazy to me that they think they're going to play this game on schedule. -
Give me a break.

This thread isn't really about either thing.

Man, we have really run the weather gauntlet this year, including the displacement in Detroit. -

That stiff arm. Mac Jones is the first white man ever sent to the Sunken Place.

Oh hey look, we clinched the playoffs
SageAgainstTheMachine replied to SageAgainstTheMachine's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah the metric for success used to be playing at least one game in December without being mathematically eliminated. -
Even though a lot can happen it seems to me that the Ravens are pretty safe, and if the Titans blow their division they won't be in the wildcard hunt so it essentially comes down to these four teams. Personally I just want Pats fans to be miserable at every turn. Also picking the Dolphins because they're the scariest playoff matchup and it would be hilarious for the media who picked them to win the SB a couple weeks ago.
