https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/pass_yds_career.htm This may not feel like news but everything is relative for a guy that was supposed to be the most sure fire bust of all time. Currently sits at 97, passing a couple brand names yesterday in Roger Staubach and Michael Vick.

Do or die in the playoffs? That's old hat for this team
SageAgainstTheMachine replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't see that happening. Their whole track star routine has sputtered against every quality opponent, they're injured, going into a notoriously difficult road playoff environment against a team whose strength is getting pressure with 4 rushers. -
See yourself out Allen haters!!!!

There's a lot more good than bad. A lot more, just like there's been a lot more winning than losing since he got here. -
Injuries following fish game

We need Douglas back for at least the second round. Dane Jackson can handle Allen Robinson. -
Should O'Cyrus Torrence be benched?
SageAgainstTheMachine replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's a fair question, but no I don't think you take a link out of a unit that's gelled for an entire season and put someone in cold off the bench.- 52 replies

He played a game that was reminiscent of Beasley's best ones.

Benford - INT, handled Hill well Rapp - Game sealing INT Hyde - Punch out on Hill to force incompletion and punt Poyer - Lays the lumber to set up a 3rd down Jackson - Huge tackle on Berrios to force punt, good coverage in spot duty T. Johnson - Big TFL, great in run support The Harty TD was the turning point and Josh won the game in the 4th quarter but man it was this veteran secondary that gave Tua fits when our pressure wasn't even getting home. Miami ran 17 plays in the second half total and got two first downs. Two!

So how are we feeling about Coach McDermott?
SageAgainstTheMachine replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have a theory that 32 teams is just too many. There aren't 32 starting caliber QBs in the league. There aren't 32 HC caliber guys in the league. Hell, there aren't even 32 starting caliber punters in the league. If it weren't for sports betting and fantasy football you'd have tons and tons of unwatchable NFL games. -
Do you tell the team the outcome of Jags/Titans?
SageAgainstTheMachine replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, I believe positive loose vibes yield better results than the crucible of pressure. Imagine the tension release of making the playoffs after losses like Denver and Philly happened this season. -
It’s more like we’re in a three way all in and locked up the side pot and have to fade a combo draw to win the main pot too.

Best friendship with Bengals 2017-2024 RIP Best friendship with Titans 2024-??? -
I love it when someone starts an argument here and the very first sentence is just factually inaccurate.

Not every knee injury is an ACL. -
And the next day obviously giving it up to Andy Dalton’s charity. What an awesome time. If only Tyrol could have put up more than 3 points the next week… Only saw her a couple more times but I know that she runs a puppet theatre in New Mexico now.

I have great memories from that day. I figured we were screwed but I shed a single manly tear when KW scored the TD. Later that day I didn’t want to torture myself by actually watching the Ravens/Bengals game and I had a first date at a nice restaurant. Around 7:30 when I knew that game would be ending I surreptitiously checked the score and saw the Bengals won. Used the energy to parlay into getting laid and watched the highlights at 3am when I got home. Let’s go Buffalo.

Congrats to Pro Bowlers James Cook and Dion Dawkins!

Just our luck. In a year when the offense actually stays healthy, two crucial players just decide to become professional bowlers right before the playoffs? -
Do you wonder if the league is fixed?

Defensive holding and illegal contact being automatic first downs is so bad. -
Elite QBs Win Super Bowls?
SageAgainstTheMachine replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
"Volume cures variance" is a maxim from the poker world. Basically, the more iterations of something you run, the less aberrant the results. 16-17 game regular seasons followed by single elimination playoffs in a sport where each side gets to possess the ball like a dozen times is EXTREMELY high variance and you can't get to the end of the season and simply conclude that the best team/best coach/best QB won. Write all the narratives you want, a lot of it is luck. Compare this to basketball. 82 game season to determine seeding. 7 game series. About 100 possessions of the ball per side. Upsets are comparatively rare and you can generally trust that the best team won. So when that's the case it's only natural that dominant players like Jordan, Lebron and Shaq end up with handfuls of championship rings. It would be more surprising if they didn't.- 60 replies
