  1. 90% of the time when Byrd is spoken about on TV, he's called "Jarius". Just heard it twice on ESPN. Why is a two-syllable word so difficult to pronounce? Are there a bunch of people named Jarius that I've never heard of, where this should be a common mistake?
  2. Thanks guys. I appreciate the opportunity to add to the discussion.
  3. Remember that game in 2010 where he positively abused Pittsburgh's interior line? I'll try to find the link, but according to Football Outsiders it was one of the greatest DT performances EVER in a single game.
  4. Baptism by fire. I like it. Provided the entire OL isn't on crutches yet again by season's end, I think it will be a strong point.
  5. Great premise, good show. I find it to be worth the 30 minutes each week, but never spectacular.
  6. For the fact that he plays a character who gets into trouble for running his mouth, nobody accomplishes quite as much as Aaron Paul with just facial expressions. "Conveyance", as you put it, is a good term. There is absolutely no communication gap between his body language and our understanding of its meaning.
  7. Not if you're afraid of Virginia Woolf.
  8. Plenty of QBs put up gaudy numbers in college, but at any given moment there are only about 5 "franchise" QBs in the NFL. (I always take this term to mean, this quarterback is the greatest asset in the franchise). So, not saying you're wrong, but just curious...in what way does Pachall distinguish himself to you as a potential Franchise QB?
  9. My thoughts on last night's episode "Buyout"... http://www.entertainment-bureau.com/breaking-bad-review-episode-5-06-buyout/2918 Thanks, as always, to those who read.
  10. Very tense episode. In half the scenes, I was expecting a major character to bite the dust. Question: Why can't super chemistry genius Walt synthesize methylamine himself? And if he can, isn't the batch of the product just a MacGuffin?
  11. "That's a personal foul. Number 99 on the defense. After he tackled the quarterback, he's down there givin' him the business."
  12. If you think you have two quarterbacks, you probably have zero. Of course, I wish the Bills were a little further removed from that statement.
  13. Yeah, Thigpen is as good as gone. Brad Smith? Talk about a jack of all trades and a master of none. Not worth the $4 million. If he can't be trusted to throw, I would substitute FJ and Choice on his direct snaps and move on.
  14. Graham's upside is higher than Cousins'. (In my opinion).
  15. Yeah, the first team D gave up 2 touchdowns in 2 preseason games so let's just change everybody's position. Madden....
  16. Buddy, this crosses a line. Everybody knows All My Children was the best.
  17. Jesse did actually cry quite a bit. Now, Aaron Paul is a superior actor to...well, basically everybody on the show. Maybe tied with Cranston. You guys should enjoy/discuss the show how you wish. Didn't mean to say otherwise. Just seems as if the Skyler stuff dominates the conversation. This, I can be on board with. The plot has moved to a point where the "Walter at home" business seems languid. You see, I'm just a natural defender of actors/actresses and I think Anna Gunn and Betsy Brandt have taken great strides over the last 5 years in actualizing their characters.
  18. What does the hen possess and why should I chatter with it? Remember how emotionally devastated Jesse was through seasons 3 and 4? Was that also content more appropriate for Oprah? All I'm saying is that this isn't an action show, it's a human drama with a focus on criminal activity. The assertion that women viewers just can't enjoy it without women crying to one another is way off base.
  19. Just me or is this thread getting a tad ridiculous? The meth business is clearly Plot #1, but the deterioration of Walt's family has always been a part of the show. Why are we suddenly acting like Skyler's presence ruins the entire thing? Oh and Marie is still great.
  20. Probably a 2nd round pick for what amounts to a one-year rental. Unless the Bills are pragmatically confident in a long playoff run, I don't know if you could justify it.
  21. I tend to think the watch is just a token of submission (albeit temporarily).
  22. This is my #1 question heading into the season. Hagan seems to be outperforming his journeyman status, but you don't achieve that status for no reason. Jones is the incumbent but certainly didn't play like a starter when healthy last season. Graham has upside, but I've seen enough speedsters prove one-dimensional at the NFL level. Nelson's been effective...in the slot. EDIT: And Easley got eaten by a leopard in the end zone during practice.
