  1. Life must be a big party for my Connecticut friends who work in NYC.
  2. It's about narrative. It's obvious enough that Mike can't have killed Walt in that moment. It would have ruined the show. But it's the perpetual responsibility of the writers, producers, directors and actors to form a cogent narrative. That is, every action means something and every action makes sense. If we take it as a rule (and we have) that Mike can't kill Walt 9 episodes before the show ends, then they can't write a moment where he has the perfect means, motive and opportunity to do so. The man was wounded, but not so much so that he couldn't have lifted a gun and pulled the trigger. After all, he managed to crawl away from the car.
  3. An interesting thought on Walt's self-described "empire business" - there hasn't been an empire in world history (ie. any organization that aimed at boundless expansion) that didn't eventually fold under its own weight.
  4. So why can't he stick with a team? You'd think NFL GMs and coaches would know he's the underrated guard in the league.
  5. http://espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp12/story/_/id/8313317/philadelphia-eagles-michael-vick-health-guaranteed-flak-jacket-maker Any chance this becomes a trend if it keeps Vick's ribs safe?
  6. That's all well and good about Osweiler, but if you think we're just gonna lay down like a bunch of garlic sticks you're sorely mistaken. This is the epitome...THE EPITOME of class clownsmanship.
  7. Well there's your problem. Everybody knows there's no money in the eel business. You get into eels because you LOVE EELS.
  8. Many women seem to judge their own social value on the possession of a man, whereas the social value for men is in sewing wild oats.
  9. The Bills don't need anybody to apologize for them. They passed on a QB who has yet to throw a pass in an NFL game. He's a hard worker who has impressively usurped the starting position. Good for him. Let's see him throw a pass.
  10. This is true. Normal platonic friendships are rarely derived from a scenario with intense feelings. "Staying friends" is a good deal for divorced parents with kids. Otherwise, no.
  11. So these 9 guys that need "taking care of"...will that be a major plot point of next year's season? Or do you think there will be something of a Michael Corleone at the christening scene in Sunday's finale?
  12. That's him looking like a jack ass?? He could be an understudy to Morgan Freeman.
  13. Compared to what NYJ has right now, the cut list for each team is going to look like a buffet. And you know Rex is going to like that!
  14. Even as somebody who didn't live through the moon landing, this cartoon from the NYT choked me up a little. http://i.imgur.com/1PH29.jpg
  15. I'd like to see the offense clicking more, but until they fall short in a regular season game I won't draw any conclusions. Honestly, even after the 9th I won't know what to think. We demolished KC last year and it obviously went on to mean nothing.
  16. If you're interested, the sneak peek up on amctv.com is a short scene between Walt and Lydia.
