Tough player. Good run blocker. WAY below average for a starting wide receiver. I have no qualms in seeing Jones exit, especially with the assumption that we've got our eye on somebody better.
You say that as if it's worse.
Humans have a responsibility to the animals that we've domesticated. Eating them is fine (cows, pigs, dogs, whatever) because there's a definite utility. Starving them, torturing them, and making them fight in order to amuse us? You must be able to see the moral difference.
Vick was worse in almost every way. I don't want Fitz as a starter either, but if I had to pick a guy to be "Caretaker" until a rookie was ready, it sure as hell wouldn't be Vick.
Thanks for posting that. The world needs one thing first and foremost...and that's for everybody to just try to be nicer. If that's schmaltzy, I'll gladly take the ribbing, but I also think it's true.
I'm actually weirdly accurate. Haven't been beaten in darts!
Anyway, I think we all have to admit there's a certain inherent absurdity to a field where we rake the best through the mud and save scant praise for the BEST of the best.
For the sake of argument, let's say that Fitz is the 25th best quarterback in the NFL. Think of all the guys in this country who picked up a football imagining themselves as a professional. There must be a million of them. But we spend so much time criticizing the guys who actually achieved that dream. I know I'm a participant in that criticism, but it just boggles the mind.
Gabourey Sidibe is dangerously overweight, but her job is to be an actress and I couldn't care less about how attractive she is. If your point is that she'll be offered limited roles, you're right on.
But that doesn't diminish her fine work in Precious. And if Beyonce needs to shed pounds (which I disagree with, but whatever) then it doesn't diminish her work as a recording artist. Accomplishment is accomplishment.
Good point.
My only real point here is that until I accomplish something on par with becoming a starter in the NFL (and in my opinion, a top 15 starter at his position) I won't call him dumb or lazy. Maybe Stevie wouldn't be able to comprehend the Patriots way, but I similarly can't comprehend the sacrifices and work that Stevie put in to even make an NFL roster.
Which is the right way to do it. As much as we make fun of Ruvell Martin and Marcus Easley, most teams' WR5 are either a project or a special teams guy. I'd rather have a player-coach guy like Driver occupying that spot.
Gotta love the arrogance. Those who don't think the Bills will draft Nassib are "delusional". It's a highly likely scenario, but it's not as if EVERY rising college coach brings his QB along with him.
Funny thing is, if the experts were actual experts (as in, they hold some secret key to draft prognostications) NFL teams would be outbidding the TV networks for their services.
Wow. Same page. That combination of color and texture just gives me the gags. Mayo, miracle whip, bleu cheese dressing, ranch dressing, pudding, sour cream, whipped cream, yogurt. Blech.
+1
The fact that the Ravens won the Superbowl means nothing more than the fact that the Ravens won the game. The 49ers' inability to gain 5 yards in one particular situation doesn't really act as a referendum on mobile QBs.
