Around the NFL Week 2

I think he'd legitimately be taking fewer hits too. -

All five members of the Bears OL fold like an origami crane and Collinsworth's analysis is that the Bears are missing Keenan Allen. Great player, but what would he have done there exactly? I feel like fantasy football has turned our brains to mush or something, there's only ever talk about offensive weapons. -
Around the NFL Week 2

There's some really awful QB play by the rookie and 2nd year QBs around the NFL. -
Michaels is just brutal. He calls big TDs like they’re a 3 yard run up the middle.
-
It’s also worth noting how tear-your-hair-out dumb it is for Tua to not just slide after he has the first down, given his post concussion issues. With the way the rules are geared to avoid QB hits and the work he put into falling the right way (which apparently worked in ‘23) Tua could have conceivably played out a nice career without exacerbating this. But he just needed an extra meaningless yard.

Yeah, I guess there’s bound to be a spectrum of authenticity. I wonder if the Bills fan base is at least a little more genuine than average after what happened in ‘22. I know my reaction to Thursday had more of a memento mori to it because Hamlin was involved. For the record I did start a thread saying Morse should retire a few years ago, and the responses were polarized.

I heard that interview. It actually made me feel kind of itchy to know what he was censoring himself from saying. McDaniel knows he won’t be an NFL head coach ever again if he advocates for his team’s guaranteed contract quarterback retiring, but I think part of him really wanted to anyway. I heard some self loathing.

So I’m partially in agreement with you, in that these are adults who can make their own decisions. But why do you mention crocodile tears and a rival team? I think people are genuinely upset to see someone putting himself through life altering head injuries. We’re a social and empathetic species and some things transcend which team you’re rooting for.

Have you called the Dolphins? They’re under the impression he’s concussed because of their licensed doctors but now I just don’t know.

Are you under the impression that he has a chest abnormality or something?

Not every half-formed thought needs its own thread. Damar did absolutely nothing wrong. He made a tackle that was only awkward because he thought Tua would slide.

Who gets poached first Babich or Brady?

In a perfect world we need our backup QB every single game, for about 3 minutes at the end. 😁

This team isn’t skating to anything. They’ll win but between the departures and injuries it’s a hard hat season.

Week 2 - Bills at Fins - Post game thread
SageAgainstTheMachine replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
What a gift the rest of the team gave Josh today. He probably had to exert more in practice this week than he did tonight, never took hit, even resorted to hurdling a bench to feel alive. -

“Ain’t enough to hit ‘em once, guys. Keep flying around and hitting ‘em and they’ll go down hard.” -
Week 2 - Bills at Fins - Post game thread
SageAgainstTheMachine replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
The drive that Miami had just before the half was one of the most gutless and poorly managed things I’ve seen on a football field. I think the initial goal was to not let Josh double dip but it ended up in a situation where the Fins had 3:36 and all three TO’s and *ran out of time*!- 487 replies

SageAgainstTheMachine replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Being favored in all four and winning all four are two different beasts in a more drastic way than people realize. Let’s say they have a 70% chance of winning each game. That would mean the chances of winning all four is 24%. -
Tyreek Hill apparently arrested this morning…
SageAgainstTheMachine replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I never said I thought Hill did the right thing. He drove recklessly and then acted like an entitled twit.
