  1. According to Football Outsiders, Geno is the worst QB in the league this year out of the 43 that qualify with enough snaps. EJ is 28th.
  2. The Pats* are like the bad guy in a horror movie. You gotta make sure they're !@#$ing dead.
  3. Because I like rooting for a team on Sundays, and it doesn't seem any less appealing than turning around and rooting for the Browns.
  4. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I'd still root for the team if they moved to Toronto. It would certainly make me sad, but I haven't lived in Buffalo for seven years now and I watch all the games on TV. Plus I love the NFL, and it makes it so much better to have a rooting interest.
  5. The version of the Jets we've seen the last two weeks couldn't beat anybody.
  6. If anything happens to Ralph over, say, the next decade then we'll know who was behind it.
  7. I think that the "superstar effect" is more believable than the thought of Goodell and his cronies passing down marching orders to favor certain teams.
  8. That's not a study of the effect of home field advantage on officiating. It's a study of the effect of home field advantage. 6.26 flags against road teams vs. 6.07 flags against home teams...couldn't it be that crowd noise accounts for the .19 difference? Noise-related false starts, delays of game and various other procedural penalties do happen. Personally the whole "refs are on the take" thing is overblown.
  9. The Onion tried a sports show on Comedy Central a couple years ago. It was hilarious, but flopped in terms of ratings and got canceled quickly.
  10. Oh, I know that, but some people would have you believe that RWS is rocking at full capacity when the team is in the mire, as if the fans are impermeable to the losing. It's just not true. I WILL say, however, that the start of each season is treated with the same optimism regardless of everything. Opening day is really something else in Orchard Park.
  11. We've had our fair share of blackout games too, and ones where Ralph had purchase the remaining tickets. The passionate fans are truly great, but I don't think our football culture is on par with the Packers honestly.
  12. What are you talking about? Scott Chandler is easily the Bills' best tight end since Jay Riemersma! Wait...I might see your point.
  13. He's also fumbled three times, just to be fair. But I agree that he's largely avoided the "big mistake". Compare to Geno Smith who's thrown 16 interceptions and fumbled 8 times.
  14. Think of it this way: If they redrafted all the rookies, is there any way that Alonso lands outside the Top 5?
  15. To be fair, the prognosticators would have to detract statements for about 200 guys each draft. It's not a science, as much as they try to pitch themselves as experts.
  16. Right now, a (surprisingly nice) sublet in Harlem. As of January 1, we'll be in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Thanks for the alternate opinion! I'll check both out this season.
  17. Hi Bills fans, I just moved to NYC with my fiance. It was great to see the Bills beat the Jets from my living room couch, but my girl isn't much of a sports fan and I seem to remember people talking up a well known Bills Backers bar in the city. I'd love to take in games with fellow fans. Anybody who frequents this bar or who could at least tell me its name? Thanks much!
  18. We live in the age of misbegotten self esteem. I don't think it's a men vs. women, masculine vs. feminine issue.
  19. I'd vote for Leodis too, though it's harder for the casual fan to measure the impact of a corner. Only the Saints have been able to victimize us through the air, and he's been the one constant.
  20. I guess they're gonna run him til WE throw up. Seriously though, I think that ankle injury has limited him tremendously. Can't cut, can't hit holes nearly as hard, can't shake tacklers.
  21. Frankly, I can understand both arguments. In the meantime, here's the world's smallest violin playing just for Tom Brady.
  22. At the time, it was 57-0 in favor of 'yes'. I was thinking maybe Pettine wasn't the hot ticket coaching prospect I assumed he was.
