  1. It would be nice if franchises showed more patience, frankly. Hell, it would be nice if PEOPLE showed more patience. I'm pretty amazed at how many fans want to jettison both EJ and Marrone after their rookie campaigns, as if the next two guys we throw into the frying pan would do any better than 6-10. And yes, I realize that it's difficult to preach patience when it's been 14 years since a playoff appearance, but the current GM, head coach and starting QB are not responsible for those 14 seasons. They are responsible for exactly 1 season.
  2. Still, I'm entertained at the thought of Steelers fans' mouths agape when Succop shanked that kick.
  3. Hey, but the 87 wins were fun! Well, some of them.
  4. Belichick finished 5-11 in his first season as Patriots head coach. So...
  5. Nobody should feel "ashamed" over something they can't control. What a waste of time and emotional energy that would be.
  6. It's a double-edged sword for EJ. If he was, say, a 4th rounder instead of a 1st rounder, he wouldn't get dogged so much for the inconsistent performances. He also wouldn't be the assumed starter for next season.
  7. Great to see KW on that list. He's made it to the Pro Bowl other years, but only as an alternate I believe.
  8. We'd be down to our third stringer by Week 2. How I wish Fitz had never been shoe-horned into a starting role. He's an ideal backup.
  9. I think we should get a new head coach after every incomplete pass. Seriously, sections of this fan base are ridiculous. Do people REALLY think that increased impatience will yield quicker results?
  10. That would be such a hot mess. If you think Buffalo is an undesirable location for an NFL player... Not to mention, there would be like 5,000 fans total at those home games if the franchise wasn't immediately championship-caliber. They have their own football. Right, but when you expand, you don't increase the number of subpar starters per team. You just decrease the value of "par".
  11. I think this is 100% sincere. They're great players in different ways, but I think KW would have been known as a better player than Vince Wilfork if you had swapped the two.
  12. I've heard of attempted eye-gouging at the bottom of those piles. It just so happens that Woods' action was less covert. Still, a pretty dumb mistake.
  13. I'm encouraged because our wins have largely been quality wins. We swept the Fins who are 8-5 against all other opponents. The Ravens are defending SB champions despite their decline in personnel and the Panthers are among the best in the NFL. Even the Jets aren't complete walkovers. Only the Jaguars are a bottom third team. Furthermore, the Bills were outclassed only three times. New Orleans, Pittsburgh and Tampa. The other six losses are coulda, shoulda, woulda. Compare that to other recent years where I'd estimate the Bills never even stood a chance in 6 or 7 games. I know that the only thing that matters is the record, but a gigantic criticism of both the Gailey and Jauron regimes was that they never beat good teams, and I'd say that's turned around.
  14. Just seems impossible for Buffalo, Cleveland and Detroit to escape from the mire.
  15. Nothing about shutting out a division opponent with an 8-6 record is same ole, same ole. They never even got past our 35.
  16. I have to admit that his inconsistency with wearing a visor, especially this late in the season, is disturbing. That might fly in the college game, but not in the NFL. Think of it this way - is there ANY doubt that Belichick will wear a stained hoodie on game day?
  17. Quite true. Freddy is a warrior, but those knees would be like something from a horror movie if he had to shoulder 350 carries. Given that it's a need to give another guy 200 carries, I'm glad that guy is CJ.
  18. Not a federal offense, but chronic lateness is a pet peeve because it usually indicates a lack of respect and accountability. Especially seeing as it's a problem that can be fixed by simply giving yourself a 15-minute cushion to account for unexpected happenings. I think we all know a guy or gal like that..."Alarm didn't go off. Traffic was terrible. Had to walk my dog. Late night yesterday." Nope. If you cared to arrive on time, you'd arrive on time.
  19. Jim Leonhard is a smart player and rather opportunistic when there's decent pressure. He had a nice year with Baltimore under similar circumstances, but struggled during his first stint with the Bills when the pass rush was abyssmal. I'd like to see him kept around next year.
  20. The Pats should have plenty to fight for, in terms of home field advantage in the playoffs. This won't be a B-squad.
  21. His instincts are just great. He plays his position with confidence and versatility. I can handle him getting abused once or twice by a Vincent Jackson type if he continues to make big plays and stick like flypaper to the slot man. Having said that, I think if the Bills get too enamored and move him outside more often it would be a mistake.
  22. Consider that Kiko was pick #46 and is already one of the best linebackers in the NFL. I don't honestly care if beating New England makes us pick 14th overall instead of 10th. I just want to beat the Pats.
