  1. There's also the fact that you can't read into short-term data for kicking. It's notoriously unreliable, especially because kicks are (pretty much) discrete and independent events. Imagine if a baseball team replaced a solid veteran because of a couple bad strikeouts.
  2. This was a pretty unique circumstance, and I agree that it was a great signing by Whaley (although he probably had TT pegged as a backup, let's be honest). It's likely that Tyrod has been a better QB than Flacco for the last couple years...but what were the Ravens going to do? Replace their SB winning QB with the backup after a winning season...no way. Everybody gets fired if that plan fails. Good on the Bills for recognizing TT's capabilities and capitalizing.
  3. Same. Despite how much of a gamble he is, I value him over re-signing Cordy Glenn right now. OG doesn't fetch as huge of a price as OT, but the line is remarkably improved with Richie in the mix. He's worth a lot to us, and the price tag isn't huge.
  4. I don't doubt that Incognito will get paid by somebody if his spectacular play continues, but he will still be a 33-year old guard with an extensive history of trouble. Nobody will break the bank, and nobody will sign him for more than a couple years.
  5. Tyrod gets the game ball, but a large handful of players had spectacular games. Tyrod, Incognito, Preston Brown, Harvin, Darby, Clay, Dareus, Karlos and Hughes all played like pro bowlers.
  6. Being a Bills fan is a lot like banging your head against a wall. Should we get tested?
  7. That's preposterous. I refuse to believe that Brady beat anybody in a race.
  8. Reports are that Fred got calls from both the Seahawks and Patriots within an hour of being cut by the Bills. http://bills.buffalonews.com/2015/09/07/beloved-in-buffalo-fred-embraced-in-seattle/ Both of last year's Superbowl contenders wanted him, and we thought he was less valuable than Bryce Brown. I guess we'll see who was right, but I sitll have a sour taste in my mouth.
  9. If anybody is curious, we are exactly one million seconds from kickoff against the Colts. Edit: I actually missed by 5 minutes. Was assuming a 1:05 start because I'm too used to baseball right now.
  10. Isn't the fun of a nickname lost if we intentionally manufacture it?
  11. If you're in a standard league where QBs get 4 points for passing touchdowns and 6 points for rushing touchdowns, Tyrod could have a couple really big weeks during the season. Overall he's a borderline top-20 fantasy QB for that reason, but I'd stay away from him simply because he might be inconsistent and we don't know if he'll have the job all year. Probably better off having a guy like Tannehill or Flacco as your backup.
  12. Fred's career with the Bills is a macrocosm of what happened whenever he took the ball. There didn't appear to be a crease, didn't appear to be room for him to fit in...and then there he was, 10 years and 7 yards later, being dragged down by three defenders. "What a run by Fred Jackson."
  13. I like articles that reveal the person behind the face mask. Ms. Kelly is trying too hard to do that, and landing on a lot of sentimental cliches.
  14. Doug Marrone will be a cautionary tale for coaches for years to come. I love it.
  15. There are too many players on a football team to retire every number on the WOF. Keith Rivers wore Darryl Talley's number this year. Lee Evans had Andre Reed's #83 for his career.
  16. No, that was Jauron. Marrone was actually the first coach in a decade to greet her in an above average way, but then he grabbed her purse and ran off with it.
  17. Well, this would definitely make the Bills the #1 most talked about team in sports.
  18. I hope all of this adds up to us signing Mike Iupati.
  19. I agree. Schobel had 3 career interceptions and Moulds had none.
  20. The cynic in me will point out that he was more than aware of the camera behind him. Still, he's always struck me as nice.
  21. http://usc.247sports.com/Bolt/The-Future-Meets-The-Past-At-USC-34679515 This isn't major news, of course, but it's always good to hear about guys preparing for life after football. As much as I like both of these players, they in all probability have 3-5 years left in the NFL (not a comment on either player, but 5-7 years in the league is about average for borderline starters). That money's not going to last them forever.
  22. Rex definitely has a sheen of confidence and warmth around him.
