    Perhaps this is arbitrary but to me the season is a success if we reach the 2nd round of the playoffs and a failure if we don't. Obviously that's not how the FO should look at things and I agree with your premise that we keep spending draft capital and money on offense to develop Josh. Fortunately for me (and you and everyone else) I am not employed by the Bills FO

    I guess my problem is that they combined for 40% of our sacks last season, and being that that was the case I would have liked to see a bigger splash than picking up Jefferson, Addison, Butler and drafting Epenesa. Only Addison is known as a pass rush specialist out of that group and he's 33 now.

    I think there was some hubris on the part of Beane in not bringing back Phillips or Shaq Lawson, as if the defensive line is just a plug and play situation where middling FA signings can be slotted in and there won't be a difference.

    Frankly I expected to go 1-1 against the Raiders and Titans on the road and 1-1 against the Chiefs and Pats at home with a win against the Jets. I'm still calling 6-2 by midseason.
