  1. People don't grok probabilities very well. Let's assign these (perhaps too generous) chances of winning each game... Bengals - 65% Patriots - 50% Browns - 80% Eagles - 60% Jets - 80% The chances of winning all five under those auspices is 12%.
  2. I think he played well. My point is more semantic…ie, if this was mastery, then what do we call his performances against Baltimore and Tampa?
  3. Don’t obsess over scenarios where we get the 7 seed in a tiebreaker after going 10-7 or whatever. This season only ends in a SB if we play our best football starting now.
  4. Josh was asked to do very little this game. And that’s totally fine, it was the right way to win the game, but to call it masterful on his part is puffery to say the least.
  5. They also forever changed the landscape of QB contracts with that ridiculous fully guaranteed nonsense for Watson. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re generally hated by other front offices.
  6. I’m starting to think this defense might rise to the occasion and win the SB in 2019.
  7. Cook is elite. It's so hard to compare across teams with their different schemes and usages. By the eye test I think only JT is a better betweeen the tackles runner and then you've got Gibbs, CMC and Bijan with their overall skill sets. But maybe Cook on the Falcons also gets 6 targets a game and excels in that capacity?
  8. This game doesn't do much to assuage my concerns about what will happen in the playoffs against a good offense. BUT Going into Pittsburgh and being the much more physical team on both sides of the ball and making their fans all pouty is EXCELLENT.
  9. Ty Johnson might be one of the most underrated players in the whole league.
  10. I'd use a Tortoise vs Hare reference to Shavers and Coleman except that Coleman is also the slow one in this scenario.
  11. There’s going to be a new stadium?
  12. A lot of guys made one big play yesterday while Kincaid and Shakir carried the water. I laud their contributions. It's all well and good, except that we're still missing the equivalent of that Josh to Diggs connection on "gotta have it" 3rd and 4th downs. Any argument that we're somehow better off without an elite WR is just coping with the fact that we don't have one. That's my issue with the everybody eats phrase...it's a matter of circumstance, not intention.
