  1. Nothing brings me pleasure more than seeing the Cowpokes be trashed in the media. Absolutely nothing, well except seeing the Dolphags lose. so, this weekend both happened, and I nearly spontaneously combusted.
  2. In al honesty, the Bills are playing better on both sides of the ball, and have shown flashes of great play at times, but even through the first 4 games have yet to look like a team that can dominate an opponent, at least not yet(not counting Seattle, but seriously Seattle looked like they were fielding some 1987 replacement game players). Last year tough, gritty play helped the squad earn 7 victories, and since there has been some upgrades at a few positions, there still hasn't been consistent play in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Seriously, the O-line and D-line have yet to perform at all on an elite team level. We're fans, love to see wins, and hope for the best, but who are we kidding if we don't get better play form those squads, this team is not going anywhere in the post season, if they get there at all. Yes they're going to look great at times, pile up some more wins, and have us all cheering and screaming, but with Marshawn unable to get 100, and sacks coming at a rate that will land them at the bottom of the league, I can't see us going very far. O-line, D-line: WAKE UP and play ball!!
  3. Good observation, still on point with his conditioning, and I did use the phrase "really good" but you're right, I didn't fall on the floor in hysterics, but I am still smiling about it, as long as his obvious lack of conditioning doesn't get TE killed.
  4. Setting all the good points made above, and one really good Jason Peters fat joke aside, this topic begs this question to be asked: Really, don't you think the NFL money pig has had enough? They will get to a point when people will, in fact get bored with the NFL from overexposure. Prime example you say? NBA. I guess this NFL machine doesn't know the meaning of too much money.
  5. I know he is capable, but is our fat, bloated, useless, overpaid O-line going to block for him? one can only wonder. The defense better play their best game to date for this to be a "W" for our young Bills team.
  6. There has never been a more indisputable truth posted in this forum since I began lurking in here 2 years ago, not to mention highly funny.
  7. Thanks Now if I only had a way to post this little note in the O-line's lockers in an attempt to motivate, or sadly provide them a snack for Sunday's game. Paper makes good fodder.
  8. I had the unfortunate pleasure of TIVOing this game, and just re-watched this play, just to see which one of you was right, you know, just for funsies. here's my analysis as I watch this play unfold in slow motion - 1. Snap of the ball, - O-line looks like field cows grazing as a stampede of defenders pass them unannounced 2. JP - trying to avoid said stampede tries to complete the exchange to marshawn. 3. Marshawn tries to receive said hand off while simultaneously getting punched in the eye socket(embellishment for comedic purposes) by stampeding defensive player. Conclusion - as I now finish off my analysis, and cleaning out the open bag of cheese puffs left out from last night(MMmmmm nice and stale) both marshawn and JP were executing the run play as designed, but the grazing O-line will need to be to blame on this one. Marshawn never even had a chance to get his hands on the ball before being smeared to oblivion. Side note - In ultra slow motion you can clearly see one of the interior lineman dig out a wedgie just after the snap, then sniff his fingers. (all comments made in this post are made to display complete discontent to the O-line, and I approve this message)
  9. This is more a question than anything else, but in the Seattle victory, and parts of the Jags game, the defensive line seemed to do a lot more stunt rushing, some cool standing at the line late to confuse the QBs, and generally being very disruptive, not to mention dominant. I just scanned through the last 3 games starting with the Raiders, and this aggressive stuff, including the cool lining up at the line late stuff Stroud was doing against Seattle in particular has vanished. My question is why? The defense has definitely been less dominant since.
  10. I always hoped for the best for him, and given our thin LB corps right now I'd welcome him back today. I always wished we had won more games while he was here, he was stuck in cincinnatti for sooooo long, I really felt for the guy.
  11. I'm still quite new here as far as posting goes, but anyone outside of this forum and a few here might have dectected a bit of serious malcontent I have for the Miami franchise, as I refer to them as the dolphags whenever possible, but I even have to say that that team is playing better this year(God I hate even typing that) and what happens after the bye for us will be the true test of how good we are, and where we stand in our division and the AFC. The Bretts are tougher, the Pats are still hanging around, and there seems to be a team in south florida that can win games this year. I hope we come out of the bye with some serious fire and keep these teams in their rightful place, below us in the standings.
  12. Yes good point he is keeping it real.... real stupid. This guy is so dumb, he redefines the phrase "$h!t for brains" I love a good 'stupid athlete' thread
  13. This couldn't have been said better. This team has way too much talent in key positions right now to look as poorly as they have against the raiders, Rams, and the Cards. It has been a steady drop off in execution and reaction to the opposing schemes that has everyone concerned. Just because they lost this last week doesn't make them any better or worse than they were at 4 -0. The coaches need to prepare better for teams that are willing to play smash mouth against a young and talented Bills team, and the offensive and defensive lines need to step up, period. This is simple X' and O's people; anyone with any football sense knew those squads have been blowing donkey since the beginning of the Raiders game, and we as fans are expecting better play going forward. Its not too much to ask if this team wants to make the playoffs, and the 4-1 start doesn't make those problems just go away. Oh yeah, Jason peters if you're reading this: BLOCK SOMEBODY for trent's sake!!! you look like a frickin' saloon door!! Jim Kelly would have punched you in the face by now.
  14. Growing up wearing a Joe Ferguson jersey to grade school as early as 2nd grade, sitting with 20,000 other fans when we got the sh-- knocked out of us in 84 and 85, and living through Kay stevenson, Hank Bullough, and one Ronnie Harmon drop after another, I'd say this qualifies me as a non band wagoner, and one who can give this opinion: I'd definitely say this team does not have a bandwagon per say, at least not withing the confines of the Buffalo Nation, or anywhere in western NY, but given the years of let downs, superbowl misses, home run throw-ups(I was at that game), skates in the crease, and the rediculous image that our fine city is under 10 feet of snow year 'round, its not going to be uncommon that good fans, long time fans, and die hard till Ralph's last breath fans will get unsettled when we get our @ss kicked like that. This board is the place to ask questions about confidence in this team, discuss strategies, talk about player performance perceptions, and bash Miami dolphags fans and their franchise in general. One thing is true about us Bills fans; We may be unsettled about a 4-1 start because the team has not accomplished anything yet that they have set out to do this year, and even if this team gets knocked down, beaten, embarrassed, or kicked aside by the national media, we all get back up year after year, dust ourselves off, look our adversaries in the eye, and say "bring it on" Go BILLS!!!!
  15. I have also felt that about the game plan on both sides of the ball for weeks now, but it takes a sound butt kicking to see that other people thought so too. It looks more like a team growing more and more unsure of its self. I know this team is good, and I like the winning regardless of how pretty, or what team they beat, but some serious fixes need to be put in place or we are heading towards a long season as we head into the tough part of the schedule.
  16. there is much truth to that statement... we have yet to see a game where Lynch has had lanes to run through, never mind the fact we have a saloon door at left tackle right now. I'm not surprised at this game's outcome considering how poorly the offense looked in st louis. I truly hope they get the O-line fixed in time.
  17. amen ^^ stuff like that is useless, and I agree with you on Dr. Z as a writer I respect, and his list is his opinion which he is entitled to, even if I don't like where he put the Titans. The Bills I think are right about where they should be, and if they beat the cardinals, will deserve to be higher. GO BILLS!!!
  18. Wow... You actually felt the need to say that? What's wrong with you? really? I was commenting on the placement of the Titans on the list (relevant), and the comments made by all NFL related analysts in regards to who the best teams are (relevant) and wanted to add some of my views on where the teams are on that list (relevant) In contradiction, your garbage comment and uncalled for dig on me added zero value to this discussion. How about contributing to the discussion instead of trying irritate people. We're all BILLS FANS here!!! grow up.
  19. I don't see why everyone points out the teams the Bills have played, but rave about the Titans. They're opponents are also all losing teams... ehh oh well who really cares what they think any way, it's what two teams are playing at the end of the season when I am stuffing my face with wings, beer, nachos and whatever else I can eat that will cause my untimely demise, and send me off to that long anticipated dirt nap that really matters. They could put the Bills at 32, and it still wouldn't matter, I just care about W's and L's, and we have all W's and no L's
  20. A co-worker who is a huge Pats fan and is from the Boston area made an odd reference the other day to the Bills-Giants superbowl and the Bills 1990 season as strikingly similar to the patriots undefeated regular season run. My head popped up from my desk like you do when you wake up from a nightmare, or like when you were in grade school and you realized that book report you had 4 months to work on was due today, and you're still on chapter 2. Yup, thats what I said too " Do tell kind sir, please elaborate on your analogy" He began by comparing league leading offenses, how both teams dominated the NFC, both defenses were strong, and on some occasions completely dominated teams, and a few close calls, but came away with victory. I interjected here and said keeping comparing the players at key positions to a minimum please continue... Both teams were favored to win the superbowl heavily, and they went into those games as the best team in the NFL. I added that while the Bills were not undefeated, they way we went to the superbowl was much more decisive, and prognosticators agreed that Buffalo should demolish the Giants; He agreed(stunned look on my face too) Pats fan co-worker(thats what I'll call him) secretly admitted that he agreed with me when I said the Bills while not undefeated may have been a better team given the landscape of AFC teams and top rated passers that were good that year. What was ground shaking evidence was how both games came down to a late game play, even a highlight reel play at that, and the outcome a stomach wrenching loss to an underdog Giants team with a crappy QB. Pats fan co-worker finally said a lot of his friends back home made similar statements after the dust settled last year on how they know what Buffalo fans felt back then. My personal feelings are that the pats loss will eventually bring some credibility and recognition to that 1990 Bills team, with the point that you can utterly dominate the league during the regular season, not end up world champions, but STILL be considered one of the greatest teams of all time. It's a lot harder than it looks, and we did it 4 times in a row, something I now wear as a badge of honor. Go Bills.
  21. They owe us an apology, and if it was up to me a refund on whatever I spent during their tenures, since it was so agonizing to endure.
  22. I seriously like the 60's throwbacks, and the away jerseys, but don't care for the extra dark blue lines on the helmet. I liked the stripe count on the Kelly era helmets. I also always hated the blue pants with the white jerseys in any year they wore them that way.
  23. I was young, but lived through those 2-14 seasons, and spent most of my measly paychecks to go to as many games as I could from 1984 - now, and while I thrived on each and every win, those dominating teams of the late 80's and early 90's those superbowl losses crushed me. I literally felt sick, nausea, and heartache after each of those losses, but no heartache hurt more than when Kelly retired. I look back fondly on those awesome years and still think the NFL has never seen, and quite possibly ever will see more talent or a better performing team than those teams. we knew, we KNEW during the regular season we were the best team in the NFL, but come superbowl Sunday I don't think there were more uneasy stomachs in the history of superbowl fans, that's why none of us can watch or reminisce any highlights from those superbowls. I understand what you were trying to say, but don't agree with your final statement, and would argue that there isn't a person on this board who truly doesn't appreciate those years, we just can't stand to remember the ultimate outcome.
  24. I just checked my Websters Urban Dictionary, and it is officially spelled: Beeotch (Pronounced Bee - ach) commonly used as an adjective to describe a weak willed individual, or a total bust 1st round draft pick.
  25. That is a good point, and Marshawn did have a few nice runs called back on some penalties, but there is no doubt that our run blocking looked very poor most of the game, and Trent saw way too much of St. Louis' turf.
