  1. I went to the St. Louis game last year, and just to make everyone aware, Trent had a very poor showing in that game, barely moving the offense at all the entire game. If you remember last year at all, the offense was ****ty in every game except the opener. The hit and concussion did not change Trent at all and is a lame excuse for anyone to look at that as a turning point in Trent's career. The only thing he did better than Losman was to complete passes to backs, and have the ability to check down. This resulted in some chain moving, but never translated into points. someone explain to me what changed? If nothing else, we as Bills fans need to realize that a few hits did not diminish his skills, he was just not an elite QB, and wasn't on any pace to become one.
  2. We should start taking donations right now and funnel those funds to Jim Kelly. No former player loves that team more, and no former player hates Miami like him either. I couldn't think of a better guy than #12 as an owner.
  3. The difference here is that this team played like a 1-5 team and not a 5-1 team. The honest question, and this is not bashing the team, I know everyone is angry these days, but is this a 3-13 or 5-11 team? Look at the facts when trying to be excited about any chances this year or the remaining seasons in WNY... 1. The front office is running the team not to lose money - translation - no top coaching or player talent 2. The owner really never has done anything to put a winning team on the field ever (90's teams were all Bill Polian) 3. The owner is trying to keep his family from incurring any debt from this team once he departs - translation - positioning the team to be sold to highest bidder practically damns the city of buffalo from having it's beloved team once he is gone, and no longer has the desire to put a superbowl team on the field. Honestly, it makes me sick to even think this since I live and die by this team, but of all the things that piss me off is the fact that Ralph will not sell the team to an owner who will keep the team in Buffalo. To me thats just greed beyond all measure, and a cold slap in the face to all the fans who have given so much of our lives to this franchise. There are former players who have made Buffalo a better place, and care about this team, and the arguement that WNY is not a profitable market is total pile of bull. Regardless of economic condition, the NFL could survive anywhere. This region has plenty of corporate support, and locals buy more season tickets than most of the large markets. Not to mention fans like me who trek 800 miles back home as often as I can to go to a home game. So i am just trying to enjoy the time I have left with my team, and just hope we go out with a little dignity and win some games. Sorry if this reality check depresses you, but I'm almost out of eternal Bills hope and resilliance - Thanks RALPH!
  4. Lurch from the Addams Family. I hear they're filming another movie.
  5. Wow, What a game, what a half-time show, what a finish!! I never thought in a million years the Bills could employ a head coach who could make Hank Bollough look good... great even. And even further, a quarteback who could make Bruce Mathison look like a pro bowler. Every fan of this team has every right to be livid. No matter where you live now, if you're a Bills fan, you live and die by this team, and what I have seen(While not surprising) is enough for me to want the good ol mid 80's back. Think about it... we changed out helmet color because our quarterback couldn't tell the diffrence between a dolphin and a charging buffalo. Yes. thats the reason we changed helmet colors, instead of going out and drafting, and signing a quarterback who could see. we then let our best running back prance off to the USFL to join our highly drafted quarterback for better money. Ralph didn't show his face at halftime because he would have been booed. The way he is going to leave this team after his passing is a guarantee this team will be gone from buffalo forever, and the product on the field tells me he has given up on any type of championship run. Seriously... Jauron? was anyone ever really excited when we hired him? I threw a fit that day. Now more than the day we missed the field goal in the superbowl has the reality that I'll never see a championship in Buffalo become so paifully obvious. Still, I'll watch them till the end, just because.
  6. 5-11 looks like a stretch at this point. The talent level on this team is exactly what the money spent has afforded us. I have been reduced to waiting out the last days of this team in WNY. I LOVE this team, but its hard to even be remotely excited about a team that didn't make a coaching change after last years collapse. Can you blame me, or anyone else on this board who feels empty about the prospect of a winning season in the foreseeable future? Its a lot easier to move a team that has been performing miserably for the last 10 years. SURE, lets blame it on the "viability" of the team in Buffalo.... give me a fu-ckin break... its time to blame the listless owner, they sell more than enough merchandise, and season tickets, plus the revenue sharing for this team to compete anywhere in the US. Good coaching, good scouting, good game plan... thats how you win in the NFL, not selling luxury seats to a bunch of corporations....
  7. Honestly, it won't be until the end of October for me, and I'm really not getting stoked about making the playoffs anyway, since just getting there is a lowered expectation that I don't subscribe to. If that is the coaches goal, then this team will never be anything but good, never achieving great. Besides who really cares if we make the playoffs anyway, there are 7-8 teams that would destroy this team in a playoff game. When this team starts to look like a top caliber team, and actually performs like one, then I'll get that old fire and excitement back, but for this year, i'm just happy they are still the Buffalo Bills for now, and thats sad.
  8. I voted Fred Jackson based upon is overall contributions to the offense, and his ability to actually hit a hole. I like Marshawn, and will wait to see if he has grown as a runner, but as of right now, I like What Freddie brings to the table. And for those who criticize this topic I ask Why? It's not any different than standing in Coles on a Friday night asking the same question among friends.. I suppose everyone should just post a bunch of smiley faces and say Go Bills!! we love you man!! If you don't agree with it, move along and quit posting a bunch of "look at me I'm a smart-ass and i think I'm cool garbage". The intent is for people who have an opinion in the matter to discuss it. This is a forum for discussion of things about a sports team, what the hell else should people post about....(that's a rhetorical question, don't bother answering it)
  9. seriously, do you even think we'll have more than 6 first downs in this entire game? I don't. This will be more like a national embarassment for this team. I hate even thinking that, but has anyone really seen anyh signs of life on this team? I don't even see a running back gaining more than 20 yards. 41 - 0 Cheatriots is what i am feeling in my gut 142 - -7 Bills (Ditka will find a way) oops... sorry... we got the other sh------- coach from Chicago... ok... then 142 - -7 Cheatriots. (Jauron will find a way)
  10. This team looks like they are headed straight for a 5-11 season. Since the collapse last year, and seeing Jauron back for another year has completely killed any excitement for this upcoiming season. I'm sorry, but i knew he was a bad choice for head coach right from the start. I'll still hope for the best though, as I do every year.
  11. I sat and watched the first 2 preseason games, and I thought it might be worth mentioning that I am finding it increasingly hard to notice much difference in the offensive attack with him in the game. Now I don't want to take anything away from the guy in terms of sheer effort on every play he plays... I love that about him, and can't think of another player I have seen give that much effort. But the truth is, (and i am going to recall the glory days for a second), when the honorable #34 was playing for the Bills in the early 90's and he was in the game, even as a rookie you just KNEW we were a better team. Thurman had the ability to make you jump out of your seat nearly every series for several years, and I am hoping to see that from marshawn, and I haven't seen that from him yet, with the exception of a few games in his young career.... Is it poor O-line play? Is it indecisiveness? I'm not sure... does anyone else see it this way? Now don't think I am expecting him to be the next Thurman, I'd just like him to be clearly the best back on the team by a much wider margin, and there are times where I feel Fast Freddie might be a better option.
  12. Ohh I agree with you totally, I just think ELi is a bag of sh--, and I find it amazing he is considered a top QB in the media....
  13. Fixed. Eli Manning has JP Losman like stats, and an unbelievably lucky streak to go along with his bad decision making skills. Otherwise, a very nice compilation of winning QB's and I agree with the intent of this post...
  14. You can click this link, it's fine... and exactly why one team's garbage will be another team's garbage. Peters had one good season, was under contract and in my opinion, a greedy bastard. SOOOO glad that fat, over rated bag of sh-- will be stinking up the sidelines in philly. Its really too bad he couldn't have been traded to an AFC east team, then along with draft picks, and a better locker room vibe, we could be recipients of all those blind side sack/turnovers as well. who knows, maybe when philly cuts his sorry ass after next season, the dolphags will pick him up. One can dream.
  15. Anyone see the writing on the wall? The Bills have made no off season upgrades to any position on the team. Instead they seem to be gathering 2nd string chumps to fill roster spots just so they can have a full roster. It looks like there is no passion, fire, or willingness to put together a winning team anymore at One Bills Drive. It almost looks like a team just doing the minimum until an owner passes away, and also going out of their way to alienate the most loyal fan base in the NFL in the process. In doing this, they are losing season ticket holders by the dozens daily, NFL sunday ticket subscribers by the truckload, and countless posts from people who make the trip from other states, and I losely quote one post I read on this forum; " I won't be spending any of my money in WNY this season". It seems to me like the plan of an organization trying to make a relocation go a little easier. I mean Come on, it can't be this obvious... seriously, it's almost like that one idiot who used to walk down Chipewa in the mid 90's with his dick hanging out of his pants, just begging people to notice. That was yesterday morning's post... all ready to send up here on this board. Now I am, for a lack of a better, funnier adjective, confused. On one hand you have the unquestionable facts that wherever T.O. has played, the team won more games than lost, and that's a fact. See: Fox Sports article yesterday. Link: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9299080/ On the other hand, he just could be the one ingredient that has a Wiley Coyote Acme bomb written all over it. "Tssssssssss.....the wick has been lit" does it blow up in our face, or a portion of the cliff we are all standing on? Stay tuned Bills faithful, this ride just got interesting.....
  16. I think a player like scaife would free up guys like Freddy and Josh reed, but not necessarily stretch the field. Forcing defenders to respect the underneath and mid routes will allow more single coverage on our deep threat receivers on the outside. Safetys would now have to cheat more towards the 5 and 7 routes which tight ends occasionally run from the slot, and that means more single zone, and 1/1 coverage for Evans. Yes, I'd definitely go for him and not waste another pick on the TE position which, in my opinion is the most "hit or miss" position in the draft.
  17. This made me laugh... because it reminded me of Techmo Bowl for Nintendo. But I agree
  18. Me too! Growing up as a kid we used to go to all the Sabres open practices... Man that was fun!
  19. They can't go after Cassel. New England is putting the franchise tag on him.
  20. I agree with that totally, If Bill Parcells is such an NFL guru, why has his last NFL stops produced nothing?? NE - SuperBowl loss. NYJ - playoff loss Dallas - Playoff loss. Not to mention the team was beginning to crumble his last year there. to me Wade has seemed to somehow keep them competitive.
  21. I second that. get him here. If you want to win some games next year, this is the type of off season acquisition this team sorely needs.
  22. I have been thinking the same thing about that Cards/Bills game all throughout the playoffs. It really shows you how we need to get better defensive schemes to compete in the playoffs, add someone who can pass rush, add some depth at LB, and another big game receiver. A real offensive coordinator couldn't hurt either.
  23. The Defense, played hard all year. I like the defense, and the running backs on the team. I watched all 15 games this year, yep... ALL 15 of them, and you can't say they didn't try. Since this is a thread about what we like about buffalo, then I won't get into what it will take to be a great defense. X2 on Mighty Taco, and I'll raise you 2 Duffs locations to now visit. Oh yeah, and Thursday on the square in June... It DOESN'T get any better.
  24. LA HAS to be the worst city in the U.S. hands down. I don't think there would be a shittier place for any NFL team to play. Don't even get me started on the people, but I'll describe them in one word - superficial. The team may move and I can't control that, but LA? This had to be started as a joke.
  25. I think the true answer to the original poster's question is that nobody is willing to sacrifice their reputation to work under Dick Jauron right now, and it would take way too much money to coerce a top talent to come to Buffalo, probably more than what he is currently paying DJ.
