  1. I'm going to agree with not picking a QB this year either, I really like Spiller more and more at #9, and using other picks to shore up line needs on both sides of the ball. Lets face it, If Trent or any other QB has some time to throw the ball, they will in fact throw it. And in case anyone hasn't noticed, Freddy Jackson is not the youngest of guys, and I am completely done with "least Mode", completely done. I truly hope we dump him for some picks, and then Spiller makes sense. To me picking a QB at #9 this year simply doesn't make sense, especially since we already have QBs on the team that are capable of managing the game if the running attack is working, and thats all you can expect from a draft pick anyway. I'd rather get stronger on the line, and possibly get a nice franchise RB to boot.
  2. I would not call JP Losman a bust. I think the definition of bust is a highly publisized, top tier talent from college, with high expectations to succeed in the NFL, and JP, while talented to a point, should never have been drafted in anything higher than the 3rd or 4th round. Really if you think about it, we forced him to be considered a bust since we drafted him that high, and it was no surprise to anyone outside of WNY that he wasn't going to make it. If we didn't draft him at all, I wonder where he would have been selected, and by whom?
  3. I bought an autographed Jim Kelly jersey recently, how does that factor in to the equation? and put me on this list
  4. I agree with your logic on the running back portion of your offense, I'd love to see Lynch bounce back, but please let's not factor in Vick as an option, he is a gifted athlete, but I do not want to see him in a Bills uniform as a QB. Bring him in as a slot back/receiver... maybe. I was never impressed with him as a passer, but marvelled at his open field running abilities.
  5. Yes. I could care less about the few extra games we will win with him. Care...Less. The lack of champoinships by Buffalo franchises has not weakened me for wanting a winner. Mcnabb is good for 2nd place or slightly worse in his career. No thanks. Draft someone or trade for a Good, younger franchise QB... McNabb will only mortgage the future of the teams progress.
  6. I would love to see McNabb come to Buffalo - As a QB coach in the future, or as a free agent acquisition this year with no draft picks given up, AS A BACKUP. I do not want any player who will just put a few W's in the win column on the field any more. Before people slamn me, here's my logic: - I am no longer happy with "almost" and "2nd place" finishes, and someone explain to me when McNabb has done any better. Statistically, he has great numbers and might possibly be fun to watch, but that is all you will get. I don't care if joe Schmoe hands the ball off to Fred Jackson all the way to a SuperBowl win(See Eli Manning) as long as the team is good, and wins. I simply don't see McNabb for draft pick getting us closer to that. - There's just something that says to me "We aren't confident enough in our team and management to pick our own great QB" when you bring in a 10+ year QB. Most teams don't get very far with a QB this late in the game, and Favre is an exception, he's just great and the team he went to was pretty awesome to boot. Besides, Favre lost on the NFC champoinship game, and that's more painful to me than going 7-9. - I really don't want to see the team give a way good draft picks for a anyone who is not part of the future plans. So what if we win some games, or make the playoffs next year, it will mortgage the future for a weak playoff entry, and I don't like that approach. You asked the question, please respect my response and opinion...
  7. I shall also perform the "+1" technique on this quote.
  8. Thats because 31 other teams think he's finished, and he knows we might be dumb enough to bring him in. He's already worn out the other team dumb enough to hire him(raiders) I also have a bad feeling about this as well.
  9. where this franchise is right now, no has-been QB will be a good decision. now if it's 3 years ago and Kurt Warner is the QB in the discussion, thats a different ballgame, and I'd agree with your approach, but Culpepper had a decent stats game against the 7-9 Bears, lost by the way, and the Bears had a terrible defense statistically. Thats why I choose to look at a bigger body of work, and Culpepper has looked downright awfull the rest of the time. Nice signature quote by the way, i like it as both sarcasm, and a statement of absolution.
  10. Since you missed the point on a lot of these questions Here's how these should have been answered in relation to Culpepper: Here's a simple guideline to follow when these QBs become available before posting: 1. How old is he? 33 you got this one right... 2. What type of talent did he have to work with during his career? You completely missed the point on this one - He had lots of talent at his disposal in Minnesota and still went nowhere - Was the correct response 3. Has he accomplished anything more than winning 1 playoff game? No was what you were looking for. 4. What has he done in the last 3-5 seasons? Nothing - good answer on your part 5. In what way would bringing in an old Vet help the future of the franchise? In Culpepper's case he was a poor leadership type QB - was what the judges were looking for on this one 6. Would you rather see this guy go 8-8 or 7-9 over developing a young draft pick or talent? No was what most people would normally say here - Why suffer through the known results when a new prospect could be developing his skills with teammates that might create continuity for years to come. 7. Will 95% of the board respond negatively? The answer was yes in this case - not sure where bridge jumping comes into play. The point is why ask the question when the answer is so painfully obvious. I havent seen any polls on whether or not to jump off a bridge is really relevant to question 7. 8. Since the greatest QB in Bills history couldn't win a SuperBowl, what chance does this current free agent sack of wet sh-- have of doing better? In this case you'd have to take into consideration that given the current level of talent on the Bills Roster, does this guy get you closer to the big game, since you'd be spending time developing an offensive scheme, and player familiarity with a QB who has not performed well, and is nearling the end of his career(See Steve Mcnair) 9. How many other teams are considering him? Again None is the answer you were looking for, not the vague off-topic rhetoric you chose to respond with. 10. Why did his last employer cut him loose? Also here would have been where you'd answer: "They didn't even play him when stafford was hurt because he is finished"
  11. Yes! thanks....
  12. We'll have a nice game against the Patriots scheduled. we have become the Washington Generals to them. Our uniforms look nice and All American like theirs, which makes for great TV, and we never win, what more could the NFL ask for? I heard this season Tom Brady is going to run around the stadium with a bucket of water and scare the crowd!!
  13. I will never get how these posts keep coming up. I've asked it in other "What about this washed up loser QB" threads, and I'll ask it in this one: Why on God's green earth would anyone want to see a QB who has accomplished literally nothing in terms of champoinships in his PRIME come to Buffalo and give it a go? Have you lowered your expectations that much that you'd like to see a bum come in here and simply win a few more games? Culpepper couldn't win with 2 HOF receivers, what even makes anyone think these washed up $h1t bags have a chance of even beating the Jets? Here's a simple guideline to follow when these QBs become available before posting: 1. How old is he? 2. What type of talent did he have to work with during his career? 3. Has he accomplished anything more than winning 1 playoff game? 4. What has he done in the last 3-5 seasons? 5. In what way would bringing in an old Vet help the future of the franchise? 6. Would you rather see this guy go 8-8 or 7-9 over developing a young draft pick or talent? 7. Will 95% of the board respond negatively? 8. Since the greatest QB in Bills history couldn't win a SuperBowl, what chance does this current free agent sack of wet sh-- have of doing better? 9. How many other teams are considering him? 10. Why did his last employer cut him loose? Seriously, Culpepper? I'd rather we hunt down Bruce mathison and give him a 2nd look.
  14. Sorry, that needed to be edited, and I couldn't resist. With a 50 year body of work like this franchise has to pick from, how could we not?
  15. amen. when it's no longer about football, things can get out of hand. Here's another way to look at it. Why bring in any of the available veterans that have proven they won't take a franchise to the superbowl and win? We as a fan base deserve better. I'd rather see a young talent developed than bring in a guy that will help the team win a few more games. Vick and a few others might do that, but I am no longer interested in that, as a true fan of the team, I truly want a little more, even if it takes longer.
  16. If a US court of law convicts anyone of killing, beating or raping anyone or anything, thats where I draw the moral line. Other offenses, while serious, seem to have a more personal negative affect, and should be given councelling for those offeses(drug abuse). Not evryone who plays in the NFL is an angel, but major offense convicted felons? My own opinion is no, and i'm not forcing that opinion on anyone, just excersizing right to do that. As far as a race issue, you are definitely right, but just from people who think that all white people hate micheal Vick, and all black people like him. I don't want him here based upon his lack of QB talent, so for me personally, it's not race based, and makes it a non race issue to me.
  17. I was at that game, and I refer to it as the music city mistake.
  18. Honestly, I think the common point in this thread is that Micheal Vick is not a high caliber(QB Talent, Pocket presence) QB that people want on the Bills roster. Micheal Vick could be white, chinese, cuban...etc, and that doesn't change his skillset. As a person, it is very well known that he is very arrogant, and has a high opinion of himself. Tha also qualifies him as a douche bag, also devoid of race. Being a douche bag transcends all races, it is the one thing anyone on this planet is capable of, and Michael Vick is one. While I agree it seems odd that he is still allowed to play in the NFL, I think he served his time in prison, ans should be given a 2nd chance at life, not the NFL. When you kill animals as savagely as he did, there should be no room in pro sports for that.
  19. Thank God. And this is not because of his dog scandal either, it's because he was a terrible QB, and a first class pompus ass.
  20. When will the washed up loser QB threads stop? Seriously, if a guy hasn't won anything somewhere else, why would you want him here? Seriously?? How many people would pay money to see these guys play? here's the list of garbage QBs i have seen threads on here recently: Donovan McNabb Jeff Garcia Jason Campbell JP Losman (part 2) Micheal Vick Dante Culpepper Chad Pennington Charlie batch and a few others that escape me at the moment. Why on God's green earth would anyone want a guy who hasn't won anything other than some regular season games and a few (very few) playoff games to come here. And if you're thinking veteran leadership, forget it, these guys will only mentor mediocracy. Start new, with good solid coaching and a quality offensive scheme, surround said young QB with talent. forget the washed up bums, has beens, and never will-be's. I know the team hasn't won a playoff game since the music city mistake, but i have not sunk that low that i want to see some of this trash in a Bills uniform.
  21. I seriously don't get why anyone wants McNabb, or any other retread QB at all. Have we all gotten this bad? Hoping for average player to come here so we as a team can make the playoffs? Really? Mcnabb is a great performing QB that has not gotten it done in the post season AT ALL. No thanks TSW patrons. I know we've had some garbage QBs since Kelly left, but come on, lets not shoot for slghtly better than what we have. I hope we draft a top notch QB and put solid performers around him in the same fashion Bill Polian has done in the past everywhere he has ever been. That seems to be the only formula these days that wins championships. The only exception is Drew Brees, but that was a miracle that San Diego was that brain-dead-flat-out-retarded that they thought Philip Rivers(Ryan Leaf Jr) was a better QB. The SuperBowl winners of the last 10 years have proved that you win with your defense, and your own proven QB, not a retread. Jason Campbell, if your reading this, please don't come to Buffalo, we're mean. Donovan, also don't come here, we're meaner than Philly fans.
  22. Great film, I knew I recognized that announcer....
  23. I heard this guy named Vince Ferragamo is looking to break back into the league... he was a superbowl QB once... you never know
  24. Listen, I don't think there's a real shot this team even wins 6 games this year, so the real question is how on God's green earth can the Bills retain DJ at year's end? Very simple. Ralph and Co are only interested in keeping spending in check until the team is sold. That's the cols hard truth. There will not be another attempt at rebuilding, cleaning house, or drastic changes, becuse the lease is up in 2012, and that my friends is the end of the line. The team is coasting on life support, and i don't see any indication of the stadium lease being pursued, so if that doesn't tell you something, then you are kidding yourselves. So you see, there really is no need to hire a new coach. DJ stays.
  25. All I have to add to this debate is this map: http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa248/l...nflcoverage.jpg Explain to me why the Bills are being aired in the Los Angeles market.... There's your proof. Don't think for one second Ralph isn't responsible for that. The man is a money grubbing bastard who does not give 2 $hits about the city or fans of Buffalo. If he did he would be making provisions to ensure the team stays in Buffalo. HE IS NOT. He is damning this franchise by keeping an inferior product on the field so sales and local interest will dwindle enough to make a better case for the new owner to move the team. Believe it, it's happening right now.
