  1. You forgot to add: We could get him really cheap, and for that price it's worth a shot to see if he develops. I tend to enjoy bringing up marvelous blasts from the past on these special occasions. When these threads pop up, I like to open a bottle of good 'ol #7... yep you guessed it - Bruce Mathison. I heard he could be had really cheap, and is looking to resurrect his career, plus he's better than anyone currently on the roster. There...i covered all the angles, and managed to work Bruce Mathison into a thread.
  2. The Marshawn debate is a tricky one regardless which camp you're in. On the one hand he is a talented running back to an extent, and on the other he doesn't want to be here, and is doing very little to bolster his value. Never mind the fact he is a boneHead, his best option is to play this year to improve his value, so both he and the Bills can benefit. Right now he has no trade value, and there aren't many teams looking for a back who has appeared shaky at best in his last season's body of work, coupled with 1 strike away from a long suspension. If he was smart(which seems to be the one thing I actually question right now), he would try his ass off to win back a lead role on the team, so he could leave if he still wanted. Then the Bills could actually market him to someone. If he performs well, and cleans up his act a bit, I'd like to see him stay. If he keeps up the nonsense and lower level of play I saw last year, i could care less where he goes, as long as he's not here.
  3. fast Freddy... because "Lost-Mode" won't show up for the opener, he's taking that day off since he doesn't remember where the stadium is..
  4. Holy crap I thought the exact same thing
  5. See, I knew we were better than someone at something... The best of the worst! At least we're not one of the teams on this list that went to, and lost the Superbowl, if you remove those seasons, then that makes the rest of the decade that much more painful... ouch!
  6. I didn't get that impression of him from the brief clips i have seen, but then again, anything is possible.
  7. Can a Moderator please possibly remove the thread sub-title on this one? That has got to be the single most offensive thing I have ever seen on any board.
  8. I read this entire thread, and it's pretty entertaining, and inciteful, i did not know about bone density as a potential factor on whether you could be a bust or not, but i have a few points that are pretty irrefutable: 1. Maybin has not played linebacker in the NFL yet to even be judged on whether he will be good or not. 2. Maybin has not played enough snaps in the NFL to even have his performance graded from last year. 3. Given his small size as a DE, and having the ass-hat coaching staff and system of last year, there is no way he can be graded on how he performs in a defensive system period. Sorry, you can't write "bust" all over him if you don't have anything to base it off of. Watching him play last year i was painfully obvious he didn't get very much playing time due to his size and the lame-ass coaching staff trying to stay close in games. Again, how about letting a half-way competent coaching staff coach this guy for a season before you nail him to the "bust" cross. Seriously, I'd hate to see any of you negative-nancys serve on a jury.
  9. I couldn't agree more with anything about the upcoming season I have read on here yet. Especially all the insanely pessimistic comments are really just as much a guess at what will happen, yet when I read them it's as if this upcoming season is carved in stone at 1-15. Forget the O-line, forget Trent, Forget no 2nd receiver, and nevermind a new defensive scheme. All you have to look at is no matter the learning curve on both sides of the ball, This team is vastly, and I mean vastly with a fricken sherry on top better: 1. Coaching, and coaching decisions. You can't run an offense, or a defense(tampa 2 please!) any worse then with the staff that was here last year. Even learning a new system there will be moments, but I clearly see these player performing better. 2. Drafting decisions this year - Watching the draft you can tell they focused on getting one area of the team better in a hurry, and had the foresight to pick Spiller. Luxury pick my ASS. Freddy is 30, and Marshawn is a jackass. 3. Injuries - there's no way limp-Dick's team of 06-09 could have been prepared and conditioned worse in the entire history of professional athletics. <- that one alone has to account for 1 full win. And this one os directed really at all the negative Nancy-pants poster on here : 4. If everyone on here thinks Marv/Jauron and company were so poor at drafting and putting the right talent on the field, how can switching from a 4-3 where we had drafted all these players for that scheme, not work in a 3-4 defense? It was extremely clear to anyone watching the team as you have clearly pointed out in your ever-so-upbeat posts that we didn't have the correct personell to perform well. How can the switch make these guys any worse? I just don't get how unreal everyone can be on this board at times, nobody who is slightly optomistic is trying to say Chan is the savior, but how about just taking a step back, and let the new regime either earn their keep, or their lumps before you nail the season to the cross. And the way Trent Edwards is crucified on here you'd think he took a dump on the front porch of the Pope's house. If you people have that much hate, maybe it's time grow up, and get some councelling. I'm not saying they have a shot at the playoffs, but I don't see any way they perform worse than the steaming pile of $h1t I watched last year, and I still went to a local bar and watched every game, and even went to the Tennessee oilers game. Agame in which I believe ended the Music city mistake curse. I was at that game 10 years earlier, with the same friend i grew up with who still is lucky enough to live Buffalo. Go Bills!
  10. I am SOOOO glad you posted this for everyone, THANK GOD you know how the season will play out. Now I don't have to watch those pesky Bills games this year. WHEEEEWWW! Please post up when they are going to win the superbowl so I can watch that year... Oh yes... one favor to ask: Winning lottery numbers please, PM them to me so no-one else will see them, thanks.
  11. i just heard this on NFL Network. I swear this franchise is cursed.
  12. I have to ask... is anyone really surprised? he knows that if he does show up, the only thing he'll do is strengthen the notion that he's not very good, and then what options would he have? This way, at least if he tries to "Peters" his way out of town, then teams who still think he has some value might get suckered into picking him up. I personally hope we deal him very soon, I have had my fill of least mode.
  13. Well he was also his only NFL head coach at that time as well. Who wouldn't like a pansy-ass soft coach who lets you make millions in the NFL and doesn't hold you accountable.....
  14. I had been going with "Least-Mode" - but now I have a new one to throw into the mix...
  15. I would more likely agree with this thinking process if we passed on him in the 3rd round, but even still, I don't see Claussen developing into anything more than a Kelly Holcomb type. I few good games, flashes of decent throws, but thats about it. If buffalo drafts a QB higher than rd. 3 again, I would hope that it's a true can't miss QB. I'd rather have the guys we picked in this year's draft than Claussen riding the pine.
  16. I have said it from the beginning: 1. Dick Jauron is gone. - Quite possibly the worst coach in Bills history, if you don't factor in the w-l records. 2. They attacked the weaknesses on defense very aggressively in the draft. 3. Spiller - seriously I don't know how anyone in their right mind could pass on him. Luxury pick? thats not possible given the lack of offensive weapons this team had. 4. no more crappy Tampa 2 defense. 5. I am re-reading Marv's book, you can't help but feel like getting up, dusting yourself off, and saying "bring it on bitches"
  17. Wow, I almost forgot about that(Bass Pro Shop). I remember reading about that along with a new hotel and shopping area near the waterfront. While I do agree completely with your point about an empty stadium downtown for the majority of the year, but just think of how cool it would be for all those high school championships that could be played there, or attending a major concert event downtown, then hitting the nightlife scene afterward
  18. The best list of them all... I'd also go with everyone elses busts
  19. I honestly look at the Spiller pick as the one can't miss pick this team ever faced. If he turns into the player I think he will, there won't be one person who follows this team that will look back and say, we shoulda. This pick has that same feel as the Bruce Smith pick... I am of the camp that did not want any of those QBs(tebow/claussen/mcCoy) other than Bradford, we already have a group of QBs who may not add any value to the team this year....
  20. +1 the end, game over. Nothing against anyone in Canada and Niagara Falls, but in case you haven't been downtown in the last 30 years, Buffalo is a ghost town, how can anywhere else need the team's stadium more than Buffalo? You're telling me that Canadians that come across the border to see games couldn't find their way to the frickin peace bridge? In case anyone needs a geography lesson, we have this bridge that allows Canadians to drive right into downtown Buffalo, and BUY stuff, stay in Hotels, attend theatrical events at Shea's, eat at some of the best restaurants in the United States, and..... get this....HELP REVITALIZE the city's downtown area. I look at it this way - This is Buffalo's resource, and the city of Buffalo right now doesn't have many left. Maybe that's why people don't see any move that puts the team in any other area or city other than Buffalo as a good one. The amount of money the metro NYC area steals from the rest of the state is truly appalling. This city ranked as the 8th largest city in the US at one time, and now we're not even on the top 50.... sickening. GOD i missing living in Buffalo....
  21. And we all know money makes you a better person.
  22. Hey Philster, never argue with morons, they will only drag you down to their level where they have way more experience with simple thinking, and beat you. case in point - look at his next reply... sounds a little like "I know you are but what am I?" Doesn't it? For someone who doesn't care what people think, there sure are a lot of posts in this thread from him. I think it best to let him wear himself out, most people seem to agree that wishing harm on anyone is really a classless comment. We're not all angels on here, but I do think it's time posts like his first one simply get deleted.
  23. The Sabres are going back to their current 3rd jersey(dark blue old logo) as their new home jersey, and the classic white as the away jerseys. they haven't announced a new 3rd jersey yet. It's on their site somewhere, I picked this info up during the playoffs. As for the Bills, I absolutely LOVE our current throwbacks from 2009, would love to see those Uni's again. There was a pictiure of Trent getting demolished by a Titan on ESPN recently, and I thought "Man trent's Uni looks good while he is getting crushed"
  24. Try again. Epic FAIL
