  1. How is that a real point when they don't have the same role or targets as individuals as MHJ will initially see as a primary target for his new team? lol NOTE: Shakir averaged an insane 13.5 yards per TARGET. That is crazy good, that is not per catch, that is per target. And he had something like an 87% catch rate too. So what if he got 120 targets and MHJ got 120 targets? May not be as big of a gap as you seem to think if Shakir continues that elite level of efficiency and effectiveness. But he will never see that many targets on a team with Diggs, Samuel, himself, an early drafted rookie, Kincaid, and Cook...way too many weapons on this team behind the top target guy Diggs for Allen to spread the ball around. MHJ may prove to be the best player between himself, Shakir, Kincaid, and Cook 5 years from now...but that does not mean Shakir, Kincaid and Cook are not capable of being very good to great players themselves given what they have already shown in their short careers. And on the flip side, MHJ hasn't proven anything at the next level either. Sammy Watkins was supposed to be the best WR in a loaded WR draft and then proved he wasn't anything more than a middling WR2.
  2. Lol...can't believe this thread reached 10 pages about a player there is 0% chance will even be a Buffalo Bill this draft.
  3. You are way under estimating Shakir. He needs to be a big part of this offense and was the best WR down the stretch and in the postseason last year. Give him 120+ taegets and he puts up 90+ rec for 1300+ yards and double digit TDs. Now he’s never going to get those targets here, too many mouths to feed, but if he went to somewhere where he got those targets he would be a machine.
  4. I’m not interested in a trade back that gets that much in return. To get that kind of compensation would mean a significant trade back where we could miss on the better WR prospects all together. We could make a small trade back and pickup a 3rd (we don’t currently have one) or an extra fourth and still easily get one of Leggette, Coleman, Franklin, McConkey, or Pearsall as more than one of them would still be on the board. So I’m down for that kind of trade back, not a big one.
  5. Dont forger another twenty something in dead cap next year too lol
  6. Yeah, this is pretty much how it was and my experience of that draft
  7. As players get more years on their bodies in the NFL, rest, healing and body maintenance becomes substantially more important. Not to mention the mental drain of carrying the pressure and stress of a franchise on your shoulders like he does. Now add in a guy like Josh who also plays with a lot of reckless abandon out there and lays his body on the line most weeks, and the need is even greater because there is no team without him. Young players have a lot to work on to get to that upper echelon level of the league...Josh put the work in to get there. There are no major or raw components of his game at this stage, now its about tweaks more than it is about development. So no, Josh should not at all be putting the same level of work in he had to his first few seasons. He needs the recovery time and he will still put in the work he needs to in order to be both physically and mentally ready for the season, that I have no doubt. Sorry, this is not accurate. Mahomes took most the offseason off last year. He took several vacations, went to Coachella, many golf trips. It is very funny to me that he posts one video of a work out and fans translate that to mean he was in the gym hard for 5 months of the offseason.
  8. Falling in love with combine scores is what gets GM's fired.
  9. Newb? Ha, well I was an 11 year vet on this board in 2019 and had probably about 15K posts back then. Newb I was not. Remember a mock draft is what you think they will do, not what you want them to do, otherwise thats a wish list, not a mock draft. I knew they were going to address the OL in the draft, heck everyone knew that because we had to and they were showing a lot of interest in OL prospects ahead of the draft. It wasn't a great draft overall...and definitely was not a great draft to be looking for a WR or OL help, but those were two areas many expected the Bills to address at some point in the draft. Don't disagree with that, but reaching isn't the solution to your equation. My only stance is I don't want to reach for a 2nd round player in the first, I would rather trade back and pick up value then get said player. But, if Beane and the scouts have someone they covet there at 28 and don't want to risk trading back, then I am all for them pulling the trigger. Im just saying the anti DK crowd for sure outnumbered the pro DK crowd on draft night. And prior to the combine, there was almost no DK crowd here outside a handful of us. Leading up to the draft there were a lot of people begging for Ed Oliver and many others Hockenson. I would say DK was at best 3rd around here, and even that was not a lock as there were others that preferred other WR's over DK like Harry and Brown. Lol...never worked so hard to make someone realize that we aren't actually disagreeing on anything 😂
  10. LOL...did you just tell me essentially fans misremember and then proceed to tell me you as a fan remember better? lol. The 2 players this board was all over the most at 9 was Ed Oliver and Hockenson. Once DK ran the 40 time, he did garner more support, but his slow shuttle and agility times kept plenty of detractors and kept him from over taking either Oliver or Hockenson for us at 9. So lets not at all make up some narrative that DK was the top choice around here, because he wasn't. So stop trying to pretend DK suddenly became the TSW darling just because you wanted to draft him too, its just not accurate. What part about me saying that I had Ford as a 2nd rounder is confusing for you because you keep claiming I said he was a first rounder? I said everyone else had him mostly as a first rounder, I did NOT. Not only did I have him as a 2nd rounder, I had Dalton Risner as the better player and my preferred choice but thought he would go before Ford...both proved right. Here is my exact quote: (NOTE: In this draft, I had DK going 8th to Detroit and us trading down from 9 and taking another WR still and then using our 2nd on Ford later who wasn't even my preferred choice, Risner was). SECOND ROUND: Pick via Redskins trade: BILLS DRAFT: Cody Ford - OT/G, Oklahoma NOTE: I previously had Dalton Risner here, however he seems to be rising into potentially the first round. I want to mock Risner, but I think he goes early and that causes Ford to slide a further down to us. So what is it you want to argue? I wanted WR then, I want WR now. I did NOT have Ford as a first rounder, and he wasn't even my preferred OL choice in the 2nd. I honestly can not figure out what it is you want to argue here. We apparently both wanted DK. We apparently both want WR this year. We apparently both didn't think Ford was a first rounder. We both didn't want us to take Ford over DK and both thought it was a mistake then and still do now. So honestly, I have no idea what it is you are trying so hard to make me wrong about when we seem to agree on everything being discussed.
  11. No, that is not accurate as DK was not somewhat popular until he gained some interest after his combine 40 time. I was probably banging the DK drum the loudest and started during the college football season and throughout the offseason as thought he was the best WR1 prospect, even though he was hurt, and a lot of this board was pushing back. It was not until DK blew minds in his 40 did some people get on him, but a lot of people kept saying he had no agility and couldnt run routes and all kinds of stuff. Including a lot of prominent posters. And I didn't say Ford was a good pick, I said I can understand why they wanted to address the OL and obviously it didnt work out. But Ford leading up to the draft was projected to go as high as the teens of the first round. I did a mock draft that year with the Bills selecting him in the 2nd round (I wasn’t as high on him and wanted DK in the first) and a lot of people on this board piled on me saying there was no way Ford was reaching the 2nd round. I discussed Ford in the 2nd round in other peoples threads, again, people saying no way he got to the 2nd round. But make no mistake about it, my number 1 target was DK Metcalf and I wanted him with our first round pick because I never imagined he would make it to our 2nd after his 40 in the combine. I was in the shout box begging to pick DK in the 2nd, not Ford. So don't try and twist this into something else. Hindsight is easy...Ford was widely expected to go in the first, so given we had a need to protect Allen, I understood them going OL even though I wanted DK 10 times more. Ford in the 2nd was good value on him at that moment in the draft and he was BPA for a lot of people at that point even though I much preferred DK. Even after taking Ford I kept screaming to trade back up for DK into the 2nd all shout box as he kept falling one spot at a time after our pick. Not getting DK after seeing him slip that far was disappoin Don't get it mixed up because I said I can understand a team addressing OL with our young QB. Doesn't mean he was my pick, because my main guy that whole season and offseason was DK Metcalf before the majority of the board had any idea about him. I even won money off someone who told me he would be a bust and we bet on his rookie stats of 700+ yards and 5+ TD's. I won.
  12. Again, I am all in on a WR first round, even wanting to trade up and get Thomas of if some unexpected chance Odunze slides close enough to get due to QB run and some stupid team taking Worthy before Odunze (looking at you Dallas). And the year Metcalf was in the draft, I was pounding the pavement all offseason to take Metcalf in the first. Almost nobody on this board wanted him. I was screaming to take him in the 2nd when he slipped, but understood going OL there too even though he didn't pan out. Then I was screaming to trade up from our 3rd as Metcalf continued to slide in the 2nd. So you wont get any objections from me on WR's. However, there is no argument for me to ever reach for a player regardless of position. I don't believe in it at all. My top 11 WR's in this draft all have legit WR1 potential. I would rather trade back at 28 a little bit and recoup maybe a 3rd and still take one of the top WR prospects like Legette, McConkey, Coleman, Franklin, or Pearsall then reach at 28. That is all I am saying. Get max value because the position is so deep. Now if there is a guy at 28 they covet, then you take the WR there, don't wait. Always.
  13. What continues? He commented back at someone comparing him to another player. Don’t tell me you think this means he’s hinting at a trade to Pitt lmao
  14. It’s dead cap hits this year and next year. You seem to always forget that in your crusade against Diggs
  15. I agree you can increase odds taking better prospects...my only point is you don't really when you reach and over draft someone though. I am only against reaching for the sake of taking a position.
  16. Most the difference making WR's didn't come from the first round, and in this draft they will come in several rounds most likely. So this notion that if you don't take him at 28 you won't get a difference maker isn't accurate. What if we trade back at 28 and get the same WR they would have taken at 28? Or take another player and then trade up higher in 2nd and get the same WR they would have taken at 28? Both of those are better than reaching at 28 to take same player wouldn't you agree? Im all for WR in the first...I even want to move up if need be to get our guy. I am just saying this draft is so deep at WR that I am not married to one way to find our guy.
  17. I think it's quite possible this team could be better in 2024. I expect the offense to be better and I think with Rasul anchoring the secondary, Milano and Bernard healthy, Jones and AJE back that the defense with some of its other new components will still be pretty good this year. My biggest concern defensively at this moment in time is depth, but plenty of time still to shore that up with some bargains in FA and also the draft.
  18. I wouldn't call him a great route runner, he was known to run lazy and sloppy routes in Denver.
  19. Yeah, thats fair, I am only commenting on why he shouldn't workout since he can't really improve his draft stock. While he is probably the most hyped in past 10 years, I actually don't think he is any safer of a pick to be an elite WR1 in the NFL than Nabers or Odunze.
  20. No chance at all. He has nothing to gain from combine or workouts. He is cemented as the top WR on the board, generational talent. It is not worth the injury risk to workout when he across the board believed to be going in the top 5. This is not unusual on a prospect graded this high. His stock cannot go any higher than it is, it can only go down. If he was my client, I wouldn't let him workout either. He is probably the highest regarded WR prospect coming out since Megatron though. Nothing to gain from working out, only something to lose. If I was his agent I wouldn't let him workout either.
  21. Don't disagree at all with your assessment about another WR, but I think people are under estimating Shakir still and also under valuing Samuel a bit. Diggs, Shakir, Samuel along with Kincaid and Cook gives Allen already a pretty strong arsenal of weapons to throw to, not to mention Cooks run game. But like I said, I am totally on board going WR early, my only caveat is I don't think we are desperate either to where reaching over better prospects is a sound strategy if their guy isn't there at 28.
  22. I mean honestly almost everything Diggs tweets about has nothing to do with Football, so no, I don't automatically take that as movement is possible. To specifically answer your question about the pay cut, no I don't at all think that this tweet is a result of Beane asking him to take a pay cut. I am not seeing the connection between the tweet and thinking it likely indicates Beane asked him to take a pay cut. Doesn't mean Beane didn't ask him, I have no idea if he did or did not, just answering your question if I think this tweet means that happened. Beane doesn't have a twitter, so him tweeting at Beane doesn't really track IMHO. Especially in such a vague way where it mentions nothing about football or Beane. Its much more plausible he is referring to the "he is gonna be traded before the deadline" crowd and trolling them saying "well" as in where is this trade people keep claiming is coming on social or it had nothing to do with football at all. He didn't list his stats, he retweeted someone else listing his stats. I mean WR's do this all the time and him doing it when fans are giving him crap on social media every day is probably all that was about. Fair if you think that is drama, but I honestly can't get there on that stuff. None of that at all seems to indicate discontent with the Bills or him trying to force his way out. He just stated publicly this off season that he wants to retire a bill, not be traded, and hopes to be here this year. Plus why doesn't his post of say just a red heart get the same assumption its football related as the other posts? Couldn't that mean he loves where he is at? No one comments on that because they can't twist that to mean drama and he wants out. You see, he isn't getting fair treatment...people cherry pick the vague tweets (which he has always posted) that can be twisted and made to look like drama to keep the story going for clicks or to confirm a bias. Yet they don't do that on the ones that suggest he is happy or chill or even take his direct comments of wanting to be here seriously.
  23. I mean from a cap perspective alone, I don't doubt that Beane would be happy to get rid of both his and Von's contracts right now to spread that money out over other needs, but just the economics make it a tough move. Von's for obvious reasons, he is just not likely going to return the value of what he is being paid at his age after his torn ACL. Diggs is different though, because he still is a good player on a team with SB aspirations still and his cap ramifications are big. But if Diggs contract was more tradeable, I would not be surprised at all if they shopped Diggs to shed cap and get younger through a WR rich draft. Finding a stud WR1 on a rookie contract to pair with Allen's next 5 prime years would be ideal. But, for Beane to pull the trigger now, his hand would almost have to be forced with Diggs either being a disruptive force in the locker room or a team willing to make an offer too good to pass up. And given he was a Captain this year, it seems doubtful there is much smoke that is accurate to him being any type of cancer or disruptive force in the locker room because they wouldn't have named him captain. And the eye test sure looked like Diggs and the team were all good all season. As far as a team making an offer Beane couldn't refuse, what team makes sense to do that for Diggs who is 31 this season and in a draft which is one of the best, and could be the best ,WR draft in history in terms of top tier prospects and depth heading into it. People keep saying the Texans, but they are not desperate at WR and could easily just take one in the first just like we can if they really wanted to and have him on a rookie deal to grow with Stroud. The Texans are where we were the first time we lost to the Chiefs in the AFCCG. Ascending team to watch, who made a nice run, but are not a one player away from a SB team. So doesn't make a lot of sense to offer Bills a bounty for Diggs to make it worth the cap hits we would take. The media keeps trying force a drama narrative with Diggs because drama sells. But the facts around the Bills that are known...the direct statements, the fun they have on the field, making him a captian, his pride as a captain, etc all suggest that it isn't as bad as the narrative being pushed is suggesting.
  24. LOL...that is all very rich coming from you. And I found your evidence to be manipulative and cherry picked to fit a confirmation bias of you wanting him traded vs it actually being evidence he might be traded as you were trying to sell it as. Lol...its a message board...you are just as active. Its kind of the point.
  25. Now that I agree with...at least 90% of this thread know Diggs is most likely not going to be traded because the team can not afford the cap hit, we are a team with SB aspirations still this year, McD has a proven record of not wanting to lean hard on rookies unless he has to, and neither Diggs nor Beane seem to want a split. Like I said, no one outside Allen is untouchable though. Diggs does something that makes his presence here a detriment to the teams goals or some team foolishly offers such a bounty that make the cap ramifications are worth the trade, then sure he can be traded. But so far, there are no major issues despite many of you trying to spin every Diggs tweet into one, and its doubtful someone is gonna offer a bounty for Diggs at his age during an insanely deep and talented WR draft. But most of the stuff in this thread is a few people trying to manufacture drama where there is none currently with Diggs to try and propel their own person desire of him being traded. And whether you are or not, others certainly are trying to twist things and make Diggs out to be a Villain and are pushing for him to be traded.
