IMHO this pick is almost as much of a lock as Caleb to Chicago if he is on the board (Chargers could snag him at 5 though if the smoke about Harbaugh wanting to focus on the trenches first has legs and they don't trade back). Titans probably already have the card filled out ha Nice, I think the pick is either Byron Murphy or Dallas Turner myself too. Personally, I have a feeling its gonna be Murphy, but if not then it will likely be Turner. Both would be good picks for them as they need to address the whole DL.

I just have this gut feeling Caleb is gonna not live up to the hype in Chicago. Something about him reminds me of Jeff George...incredible talent but I think his ego and mental aspects are going to be his own worst enemy. When I look for a QB to have elite potential, a big part of that is inspiring those around them to want to go to war with them. They elevate and motivate those around them, and I lack confidence in Caleb to excel in those areas. Kind of like Jamie Foxx in "Any Given Sunday" where he was a hard guy to like for a while and didn't have the support of everyone in the locker room. I like Maye's upside potential more than Caleb even though Maye does have a lower floor with more to work on to be a top end QB in the NFL. He has a Josh Allen type ceiling when you watch him play.

Rumors swirling that the Cardinals have been locked in on MHJ for weeks and gonna take him unless someone knocks their socks off...which I think is probably accurate if they stay at 4, but I think those rumors are a clear ploy to drive the price up and fuel the bidding war for this pick. If Giants want McCarthy not only do they have to contend with AZ possibly trading this but lots of belief the Chargers want to trade back too. That is not one, but 2 spots for Vikings, Broncos, or Raiders to potentially leap frog them for JJ McCarthy if they are as high on him as the buzz would suggest. And they supposedly will not make any decisions until on the clock, to again put pressure and drive last min bids. I think they still trade back, but obviously if they don't MHJ is the most likely pick.

Yeah and its why people have been mocking a lot that the Chargers will trade back out of this spot for someone who wants a WR where they can still grab an elite prospect along the OL and more draft assets and look to add to WR later. I get the pick for sure...but I think on Thursday if the draft fell this way the pick would be McCarthy or they would trade the pick to someone who wants McCarthy like the Vikes and take multiple first round picks.

Personally I think Odunze will be the 2nd WR taken. I’ve heard from people I trust that many teams have him as either the top overall WR or 2nd. And more isn’t being made about it as people want him to slide to them or to a place they can trade for him. He has the best ball skills in the draft and is the kind of guy who can be open even when not open. Basically a QBs best friend type receiver.

I don’t think it’s possible for me to hate any other unis more than I already hate these ones.

The issue is Commanders already have 6 picks in the first 3 rounds and 7 in first 150 picks coming into this draft. So they don’t need to make this move to load up on more picks in this draft. They can take a QB and still have 6 more picks in first 150. So I don’t know adding a few more and a couple next year is enough for them not to address the QB position with one of the QBs three hey are high on.

Agreed. This is what I meant by Wash would need more than this in real life because they won’t care about all these day 3 picks this year.

Yup, this was my vote and what I had in my last mock.

McConkey is an easy choice for me as Legette has a lot more risk to me than McConkey. Don’t get me wrong, he has a huge ceiling too and is an exciting prospect and I would be fine with him in the 2nd, but at 28 McConkey may be the most sure bet outside the big 3 in the draft to bring value and do it this year. Legette was a ghost all of college until his 5th year where almost all his career production came from. You don’t know which guy you’re getting and he isn’t as polished in a lot of the areas McConkey is. Legette does have elite potential still, I just think its gonna take a season or two for him to really put it all together (assuming he does), so I won’t hate drafting him at 28 if he was the pick, but I’d feel more confident in McConkey, especially in what he would do for us this year.

Obviously everyone free to operate how they want in this mock. But I’d say there’s pretty close to a 0% chance Commanders trade this pick on Thursday. They have locked down to take a QB.

Im with you. Like I said in another post, I think he’s a round 4 guy who’s gonna go round 2 or 3 because the class is weak, so I am with you on that. I would break my TV if he was taken at 28! But at 60 I could live with it even though there will be people there I would take over him I’m sure.

Whoever says he is a 3rd or 4th rounder doesn’t know how to analyze WRs. No way he gets out of the 2nd round, and more likely goes somewhere between back half of first and first half of second. There are a lot of teams who are high on him and he could be our pick at 28 even. I have him 5th behind big 3 and Thomas personally.

Welcome aboard I’ve long been on the McConkey train, he’s WR5 on my board. I would absolutely be good taking him at 28 or on a trade back. IMHO he has the highest floor outside the big 3 in the draft (followed by Polk in terms of high floor) and a safe bet to be a significant contributor year 1 IMHO. I have never seen someone spew assets away the way you do. This trade should and probably would get Beane fired.

I don’t disagree he is in play at 60, he’s a round 2 or 3 guy this year. But there is absolutely no way Beane takes him at 28. I guess nothing is impossible, but I’d be stunned and may break my TV if that happened. He is a 4th round prospect IMHO who’s gonna go earlier because there are not a lot of options at EDGE this year.

I think it was coincidence like I said. AJE was BPA at a clear position of need, I don’t think they targeted him on just his arms, everyone knew he was our pick when we were on the clock there.

I think Tez is very much in play at 60 for them if they elect to go another position in the first. Not saying they should or shouldn't be, just based on how much interest they have invested in him as most the other WR's they spent time with are either expected to be gone by 60 or go much later than 60.

Broncos just trading for Zack Wilson today for 6th and 7th round picks adds an interesting wrinkle here that might impact both picks 12 and 13. I won't rule Nix out totally at 12, but I could easily see the Broncos either taking BPA at 12 or even trading back now to try and set themselves up next year for a QB. And if they still want Nix, there is a good chance he would still be there when they picked after trading back. If I find time to do a v3.0, this will be interesting to think about and play out a little bit. Question is, who is on the board at 12 that a team is going to move up to get and what would that compensation be? Is there a trade there that makes sense on both sides is the question that will be fun to explore.

Hmmmmm...this is interesting. There is buzz the Broncos like Bo Nix, but by no means were they a lock to take him at 12. I wonder if they just take the BPA at 12 or trade back to get more draft capital that they need. And if they still wanted Nix after trading back he will very likely still be there as I think they are the biggest threat to take him round 1.

One thing I will add is don't take this list as gospel. For example, Ladd McConkey has publicly stated he has met with the Bills several times and isn't on these lists online. So someone like BTJ only shows up once compared to the other WR's, but he very well could have had other meetings still.

I think you are over thinking AJE to be honest. DE was a major need and he was the top DE in a weak draft to find edge help. So weak, the top guy fell to us in the 2nd and he was the clear BPA and a pretty obvious choice for the Bills, so I think the arm connection here with Groot is more coincidence than a trait they covet to the point they would reach for a day 3 prospect at pick 28. And no disrespect, but I have to disagree about it being "not uncommon" to be mocked in the first. I have a hard time believing there are a lot of other mocks out there where he goes in the first given he is more often seen as a day 3 pick with potential to maybe go day 2. Edge does fall off early, so I can see him maybe getting into the 2nd round for teams in dire need of help there. But if I was to guess today, I think he more likely goes in the 3rd. I admit, anything is possible, so won't say never...but I would honestly be stunned to see him go in the first as he would be a massive reach and no where near BPA at any pick in the first IMHO. I can see the 2nd, edge drops off early, so a team desperate for help might reach. But at 28 and in this Mock, there are higher graded Edge guys still available before he has Kneeland go. But my comment on how bad this mock draft is was directed at the overall draft. I just felt like its a crazy mock top to bottom and I think its one of the worse ones I have seen overall.
