Crazy Josh Allen stat ahead of his 7th season
Alphadawg7 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Allen has 23 more TDs than Mahomes the past 4 seasons since Allen arrived as an elite QB. So yeah, it’s ridiculous comment still. -

I hate this comment when people talk about Allens record. Mahomes started a game as a rookie and Allen basically played like 11 games only between getting hurt and not playing the full game in 2 of them. So in reality, Mahomes only played like 10 less games. And when the season is over, Allen will have a 30 TD lead on Mahomes if he just hits 40 TD's again, something he has done an NFL record 4 straight times. Meaning Mahomes would have had to start 10 more games and avg 3 TDs+ per game as a rookie, and he didn't have a single TD in his only game as a rookie. Furthermore, Josh has 23 more TDs than Mahomes the past 4 seasons. And even Furthermore, Mahomes started after sitting most a year behind Alex Smith learning from him and Reid and then began his career with two GOATS in Kelce and Hill. Meanwhile, Allen came out of a small school, played for a defensive HC, and his WR's were Kelvin and Zay Jones. So yeah, this is a pretty silly comment everytime I see it. -
Josh is entering his 7th season, so he has not even played a game yet in his 7th season… Yet, he already ranks 4th all time in TDs through 7 seasons and only needs 11 TDs this season to break the record of most TDs all time in their first 7 seasons. LFG! GoBills!

I am pretty sure his agent called Joe on Hard Knocks and Joe said they wouldn’t match the offer. -

I don't at all disagree with this...always OK to question things and look at everything from both sides. But, I do disagree about this trade. If I found out my GM made moves or passed up on opportunities to better our team out of being scared about another team I would immediately fire him, and I am sure every owner league would feel the same. Its one thing to say have an elite player on your roster you don't want to trade to a rival (like when Beane gave permission to Diggs and his agent to find a trade with anyone but KC), but its another when you are talking about draft strategy. When it comes to the draft there is no way to prevent any team from getting any player outside of you selecting that player yourself. Furthermore, teams don't disclose in trade talks who they are drafting with the draft pick swap, it's just if the value is there for both sides. GM has one job...make the moves that they feel are in the best interest of improving our team. Anything other than that is a fireable offense IMHO. So if he passed on adding more draft picks because he was afraid KC would get a guy they can still get without trading with us, I would have demanded to fire Beane even though I feel like Beane is one of the better GMs in football. . -
Hahaha I legit laughed at this...well played

No disrespect, but nothing about Beane remotely suggests to me he makes moves like this to create the perception of a "win" in a draft class. He has proven over and over again he is 100% committed to making what he feels is the right moves for the Bills and never made a move that seemed to be about himself. So I have to respectfully disagree with that statement. As fas as our ability to make a move for a WR next year if need be, remember, we are able to get Von off the books next year, his deal was essentially a 3 year deal. So I think people forget that some when thinking about next years cap, not to mention not having all that dead cap either. I think this was a good move...you win in the postseason in the trenches. And if we didn't lock him up now his price tag would be even higher after this season if he puts together another season like last year. So for me, shoring up our OL in front of Josh is never a bad move.

Let me ask you this...if you are unhappy with what McD and Beane have "done"...as in past tense...then why are you and others seemingly upset at them now going away from what they have previously "done" and trying a new approach? And all before we see what this even looks like in a real game. Picking Worthy for example would have been the same old stuff as before...another undersized WR who isn't physical. We have been losing the physical battle in the postseason in all our playoff exits. We have lost in the trenches, our WR's are taken out of the games by more physical corners, bad weather, etc. We also stunk at running the ball the majority of the past 4 playoffs too, another important aspect that people seem to miss about playoff football. I mean look at the Chiefs, their ability to run the ball or do quick short throws as an extension of running the ball has been a core piece of their back to back Super Bowl runs, not to mention how much they win in the trenches with that OL and the Chris Jones led DL. So for me, I feel like the people who are the biggest critics of what Beane has previously "done" should at least like the fact he is trying to support Allen with a better run game, more reliable pass catches, more diversity including more size and toughness across his offensive weapons. Will it work...we don't know yet, but I would think there would at least be more positivity from those who have not liked their past decisions to see them taking a different approach as opposed to keep on doing the same things that didn't get us to where we wanted to go.
