Is Josh being asked to do more than ever this year?
Alphadawg7 replied to KentuckyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh is Josh. Because he makes insane plays people say its all on him. Why aren't people asking if Mahomes is being asked to do too much when he puts the team on his back and makes big plays only he could make? Josh's weapons all came through all game long for Josh. But somehow its all on Josh again? And for the record, Josh literally said he had Coleman open for a TD on a slant but he elected to run the ball on his first running TD because it was there. He admitted he should have thrown it to Keon and that because of this play and seeing Keon win all day, he trusted him to throw up that deep shot for him. So a lot of this are decisions Josh is making in these moments. And when you can run the ball in with an insanely high degree of success, its easy for him to just do so. No risk of a tipped ball or misread of a defender, etc. Josh is not a running QB, but he will on his own accord take off without hesitation with his legs if he sees a path to a big gain, first down, or TD. -
I'm really starting to love this WR room. We quietly got better

Dropping the pass is what led us to this play. So you are blaming him not getting the ball here, when this play should have never happened had he not dropped the pass before. And again, work up his last 4 playoff exit games. Hint...you won't be impressed. -

Not when you don’t have enough of them and keep going home early. Think I care about stats against a lowly NE team, a Miami team with a bad defense and 3rd string QB in the first rounds? No, not in the slightest. I care about the big games against the teams that keep sending us home and keep us from reaching a Super Bowl. -

Neither did the team or Josh Allen 😁 -
A Few Thoughts about the Cardinals Game, in no particular order
Alphadawg7 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I get that, but also to be fair, Josh said he had Coleman for a TD on his first TD run, but he had the run there and took off and scored. So some of that is Josh Allen making those decisions out there too. In fact, Josh made it a point to say he just has to trust the kid is ready after seeing him win his route for a TD and not throw him the ball and its why he let it fly later in the game for Keon's big catch. As the season goes on, I think Allen will trust he make more throws down low as well as he builds more timing and trust with this new group of weapons. I also expect Ray Davis will start to mix in more on the goal line too and short yardage. But the thing is too, Allen is such a weapon with such a high degree of success on running the ball in short yardage situations, it's hard to go away from him as you are not likely going to find other plays with same high level of success you have with Allen. -

Yeah, that is where I think a lot of people have missed about this group who have been down on it. Brady can create a lot of mismatches and different looks with this group, including athletic size with just about any formation compared to previously just really 12 personnel. Still, it's week 1 and 5 or 6 weeks from now DC's will have a lot more film on this offense, so we need to see they can consistently do this kind of thing and adjust when say some things aren't working. Not gonna get out over the ski's here, but week 1 was exactly what I expected from the offense after they preached all summer that everyone eats. 2 things I want them to clean up though ASAP are the penalties (hopefully just some rust) and how Josh Allen was carrying the football Sunday, it was like a loaf of bread out there. With how physical he runs, he needs to be more protective with the ball instead of carrying it out there just palming it or fumbles are going to be an issue again. It looked like his first couple years again with how he was holding it. -
Receivers the Bills could go after?
Alphadawg7 replied to Desert Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just to be clear, neither Hollins or Coleman started the game. First play of the game was a Dart out of 12 personnel and the only 2 WR's on the field were out left in Shakir and Samuel. The 2nd play of the game was a passing play, and Coleman was the one in the game essentially making him the starting WR in the passing game. He also had the most snaps of all the receivers Sunday too. It's pretty clear Coleman is the "starting X" out there. There were many times when Hollins and Coleman were also on the field together too. But honestly, still a little surprised you weren't at least encouraged by their week 1 games. -
You sound fun at parties

Also, neither Mack Hollins or Keon Coleman started on the first play of the game, we ran a Dart out of 12 personnel and the only WR's on the field were out to the left which were Shakir and Samuel. The 2nd play of the game was a passing down, and Coleman was on the field, so he essentially was one of our starting WR's in terms of the passing game and that was further established by having the most snaps at WR week 1.

I dont disagree that Diggs can bring good value though still the Texans, they have deep threats in Nico and Tank, so he doesn't need to be that. In Buffalo, he was supposed to be the WR1, supposed to make plays all over the field. I don't know he still is an elite WR1, especially for his drama. He even admitted recently he had bad focus and head space last year. Thats not what a team wants in a WR1. So for me, its a win-win for Diggs and the Bills with the separation. I think both benefit from it and both can have good years this year without each other.
-
I would be happy in a since that hopefully the 2 TD's helped us win. But Diggs averaged 8.9 ypc his final 10 games last year, and he faded the back half of the season before too, and his playoff production has been all or nothing with more nothing in regards to what you want and need from a $26m WR1. So seeing his 5.5 ypc and having again no value outside the short areas of the field for the 11th straight game stands out despite the 2 TD's. Now if Coleman did that in his very first game, sure, seeing your rookie whose best attribute in drafting him was to make us better in the redzone go and execute in the redzone would be an exciting start. But I sure as hell would be concerned about Keon if 10 games later Coleman was averaging under 9 yards per catch which is bad for even a backup TE.

Ha all kidding aside...it's just one game, lot of football left and lot more for this offense to prove. But still, a lot to like from week 1. -

Yeah, I don't get this either. Josh is Josh. If he makes great plays, people say its too Josh Centric. Are the Chiefs too Mahomes centric? I mean it makes no sense. Every one of his weapons both catching and running made big plays yesterday and some in big moments for their only play like Knox did. If anyone thinks yesterday was all Allen they only watched the highlights of his TD's and not the whole game. -
Super Bowl Halftime Acts That Will Never Be .

One, I like all kinds of music (except not a big fan of country), so excited about Kendrick Lamar. But I do love AC/DC and one of my dreams was to see them live and I was lucky to have gotten the chance at Coachella like 5 or 6 years ago and they crushed it. In the 10 Coachella's I have attended, they are easily top 5, probably top 3 favorite performances ever. And you see a lot of performances at Coachella given its 3 straight days of lineups across 5 stages from like noon to midnight, and they are still one of the best ones I have seen. -
Funny, we didn't really know, and my wife and I were discussing that this weekend actually. So we googled it and it was mostly related to the fast growth after WW2 where it was faster and easier to build above ground. Also cost, it is usually cheaper to build above ground. And something about the frost line being thin here as opposed to other parts of the country. Here is one of the articles we found on it: Why dont CA homes have basements

Awesome and yeah, Rocklin is atop our list as well along with Roseville, Granite Bay, and Folsom too. Everyone we come across who lives in the area or has lived in the area always raves about it outside it being hot. But both my wife and I grew up in places that got almost as hot, so won't be too much of a shock we hope ha. But one of the reasons we targeted these areas is my wifes mom and stepdad just bought a house in Truckee like 90 min away right next to Donner Lake and like 15 min from Lake Tahoe. They have a room all setup for us and the boys to come stay as often and as long as we want. So, we plan to dodge a lot of that Summer heat spending a lot of time up there over the hot months as summers are super nice up there.
-
Nice work I would definitely add targets because then you can add in YPC, YPT, and Catch % as all those will all auto calculate off the same data you are already entering (assuming you added targets too) once you add the equation in to the fields. Maybe games played and games started if you wanted too.

We would love a basement for just this purpose, just out here in Cali they are not very common, especially on more modern builds in the areas we are.

Just ran into my good friend and neighbor while walking our dogs. He is a die hard Fins fan. First thing he said to me is we are going to kill them Thursday. Said they were awful on both sides of the ball and they are a train wreck in the trenches. I didn't watch much of the game, but just what he said to me today as he was not at all happy about their win.

Bills Coordinators Need To Be Much Better

Agree with all this. That being said, it’s one game, but I think overall it was encouraging efforts by both coordinators.
