Yet you spent all last offseason and even during the season trying to convince me Shakir can’t catch. Earlier this offseason you kept trying to downplay Shakir as well. LMAO…love how you try and spin your stance now though like you weren’t throwing shade at him the past 2 years. And I find it hilarious you want to pretend now everyone has been as high on Shakir as I have not only now but the past 2 seasons. Was I the only one, certainly not, but the majority saw him as a role player at best or some meh player until recently.

I don’t disagree with any of this, but yardage is a direct math equation where targets is a key component of said equation. So all I was saying is if he does get into that 110-120 target range or higher 1200* yards becomes a realistic yardage total. But, what you said I agree with is exactly what comes into play on determining where that target total lands this year.

No, once again totally incorrect like every other time you have quoted me on this. This one is even more perplexing because we have literally discussed this exact range misquote maybe 2 dozen times, including in direct messaging. I have repeatedly told you 900-1100 yards was my range but you always like to exaggerate it incorrectly. Agreed, except that wasn't my range. Which again, was not my range, that is your incorrect recollection. Where he ends up will come down to just how much they stick to "everybody eats" this season. Now can he get to 1200+ Yards? Sure, I think he could if he ends up commanding say 110-120+ targets. But I do still think Kincaid is getting over 100 targets for sure, and also that Keon will get a healthy share of targets as well as Samuel and the RB's combined. So that is why my prediction was 900-1100 yards even though I sit here currently very confident he breaks 1000 yards.

Thanks, and I see your location is Sacramento...my wife and I are leaving the beach in LA to move somewhere around Roseville, Granite Bay, Rocklin, Folsom, etc. Our 2nd baby is due in October, so not gonna move until sometime between Dec and Feb, but you will have to let me know if there are any Bills bars in the area

I agree and it’s what I meant by not winning in the trenches. When teams have beaten Mahomes in the postseason it’s because they have gotten to him, and that just isn’t something we have been able to do much of at all in the playoffs against Mahomes. I will say I strongly believe had Bernard and/or Milano been able to play this year we probably win that game. KC feasted attacking our depleted LB group and still was a close game.

I wasn’t saying you didn’t say that, I said I misunderstood your intent as you mentioned while complaining about Beane currently. So it came across to me initially as if you were equally upset about 2018. And this offseason there have been plenty of other people ranting about the early Beane years mostly from the “our WRs suck crowd” this offseason because our WRs in 2018 were not good. Not saying you, obviously I misunderstood what you wanted to convey, just saying why I thought it was more of that because others were doing it previously.

How Is Rashee Rice Not Suspended Or On The Exempt List?
Alphadawg7 replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall
I do not get it myself. It’s pretty ridiculous he has not faced some sort of suspension -
All good…Maybe I misunderstood you then, sounded like you were complaining about the 2018 roster in your criticism of Beane.

Injuries have not helped. Frazier garbage soft as Charmin playoff D did not help. Not being able to run the ball most seasons has not helped. Tragic and Traumatic events in 2022 didn’t help. The coin toss didn’t help. But if you really want to narrow it down to the biggest issue IMHO as why we have exited too early the last 4 seasons…it was because we were not winning the physicality battle and we weren’t winning enough in the trenches.
-
Why do people keep bringing up 2018 as if Beane did a bad job that year, or even 2019? Beans came in and inherited a garbage roster that needed to be gutted and rebuilt. 2018 was the beginning of that process. Within 3 years we went from a joke to a perennial SB contender where no one on the roster was here prior to McD being hired.

The last 2 seasons they are 3-9 over the final 6 games of the season to squeak into the playoffs as the final seed. And one of those 3 wins was the only game that Tua missed. In the games Tua played they are 2-9 over the final 6 games each of the past 2 seasons. I just don’t see quality, I see a pretender who beats up weak opponents early and the league figures how them out and they go down the toilet back part of the season when teams should be playing their best ball. And if you add in their 2 playoff games, they are 3-11 to close out the last 2 seasons. And now, their roster is worse than it was the past 2 seasons too after losing so much this offseason because of their bloated offensive cap use. And with their trenches a mess, I think they are in danger of missing the playoffs all together this year, and if they do the seats gonna get pretty hot for McDaniels and the Front Office after all the money they spent.

“Jets are in complete disarray” - B/R Article

My bad, I missed that one, good catch -
I think Allen was not as sharp with his ball placement last year personally. When I watched that it was something I noticed as well on a couple plays and Shakir made great adjustments and showed great focus and body control to still get the pass and give himself a chance to advance the ball. Allen always talks up how Shakir is always right where he is supposed to be and expected, and so do the coaches. So I think on those few plays it was probably not the best ball placement for Allen, something he has been vocal about improving this season himself too. But there were also several dimes Allen threw in there as well.

Now that the 53 is set, predict the Bills win total
Alphadawg7 replied to Cash's topic in The Stadium Wall
This team has not lost a game by more than one score in like 40 something games…I forgot the exact number, but the number is an NFL record. And when you have Allen and close games we still win a lot of games, so my floor is 10 games with a healthy Allen and I think 13 is probably their ceiling if the offense turns out to be a top 5 unit again and the D is still strong. My personal guess is 12-5 and we take AFCE assuming no more critical injuries like Milano. We aren’t as deep, so not sure this team can weather multiple injuries to key players as well as it’s had to in the past. -
As a fantasy football junkie, IMHO, his ADP is maybe the best value of any player in fantasy football right now. He is so undervalued by people who aren't Bills fans thanks to Diggs, Davis, and Kincaid being so known last year that lots of people didn’t notice what Shakir was doing 2nd half of last season. It’s honestly almost too risky to wait to round 12 to get him and miss out on that value. I would say round 9 or 10 he is still going to be a steal by end of season. I got him in round 12 in my first draft and round 10 in my next 2 where the guys in my leagues were a little more savvy.

Well its almost go time! Definitely a lot more people have come around to optimism with Shakir since I posted this despite many still holding on to doubts and naysaying...but we will see what is to come now that the season is upon us! Just for a little excitement for the crowd who is high on him like me...this is a fun watch!

Is it quality though? I mean they stockpile stats against sub .500 teams and then choke and crap the bed against teams above .500 as they have only 2 wins in 2 years against teams .500 or above. They may not even make the playoffs this year.

All those star players are the same ones who have been there 2 years in a row. Yet they have only 3 wins total in 2 seasons against teams with a winning record and barely made the playoffs two years in a row. They beat up on bad teams and lose to good ones. And their roster is now worse as they added very little and lost a lot on defense. So not seeing how they get “better” with a worse roster when they have already been a middling team 2 straight seasons. And the AFC and AFCE are all tougher this year than the past 2 years. -
I think it’s more a result of the unknown than anything. We didn’t make any significant additions to the defense while moving on from 4 starters in both safeties, White, and Floyd. Now add in the loss of Milano, and filling in these spots with low cost vets and youth has people concerned how well it will work. I think the defense has the potential to still be good, but it’s more about staying healthy for me as I don’t think we are as deep as last year and losing Milano early was a blow as Bernard is also undersized and got hurt in his first year starting. So fingers crossed Bernard doesn’t go down while Milano is still out.
