Crazy Josh Allen stat ahead of his 7th season

Allen has 23 more TDs than Mahomes the past 4 seasons since Allen arrived as an elite QB. So yeah, it’s ridiculous comment still. -
Crazy Josh Allen stat ahead of his 7th season

I hate this comment when people talk about Allens record. Mahomes started a game as a rookie and Allen basically played like 11 games only between getting hurt and not playing the full game in 2 of them. So in reality, Mahomes only played like 10 less games. And when the season is over, Allen will have a 30 TD lead on Mahomes if he just hits 40 TD's again, something he has done an NFL record 4 straight times. Meaning Mahomes would have had to start 10 more games and avg 3 TDs+ per game as a rookie, and he didn't have a single TD in his only game as a rookie. Furthermore, Josh has 23 more TDs than Mahomes the past 4 seasons. And even Furthermore, Mahomes started after sitting most a year behind Alex Smith learning from him and Reid and then began his career with two GOATS in Kelce and Hill. Meanwhile, Allen came out of a small school, played for a defensive HC, and his WR's were Kelvin and Zay Jones. So yeah, this is a pretty silly comment everytime I see it. -
Josh is entering his 7th season, so he has not even played a game yet in his 7th season… Yet, he already ranks 4th all time in TDs through 7 seasons and only needs 11 TDs this season to break the record of most TDs all time in their first 7 seasons. LFG! GoBills!

I am pretty sure his agent called Joe on Hard Knocks and Joe said they wouldn’t match the offer. -

I don't at all disagree with this...always OK to question things and look at everything from both sides. But, I do disagree about this trade. If I found out my GM made moves or passed up on opportunities to better our team out of being scared about another team I would immediately fire him, and I am sure every owner league would feel the same. Its one thing to say have an elite player on your roster you don't want to trade to a rival (like when Beane gave permission to Diggs and his agent to find a trade with anyone but KC), but its another when you are talking about draft strategy. When it comes to the draft there is no way to prevent any team from getting any player outside of you selecting that player yourself. Furthermore, teams don't disclose in trade talks who they are drafting with the draft pick swap, it's just if the value is there for both sides. GM has one job...make the moves that they feel are in the best interest of improving our team. Anything other than that is a fireable offense IMHO. So if he passed on adding more draft picks because he was afraid KC would get a guy they can still get without trading with us, I would have demanded to fire Beane even though I feel like Beane is one of the better GMs in football. . -
Hahaha I legit laughed at this...well played
-
No disrespect, but nothing about Beane remotely suggests to me he makes moves like this to create the perception of a "win" in a draft class. He has proven over and over again he is 100% committed to making what he feels is the right moves for the Bills and never made a move that seemed to be about himself. So I have to respectfully disagree with that statement. As fas as our ability to make a move for a WR next year if need be, remember, we are able to get Von off the books next year, his deal was essentially a 3 year deal. So I think people forget that some when thinking about next years cap, not to mention not having all that dead cap either. I think this was a good move...you win in the postseason in the trenches. And if we didn't lock him up now his price tag would be even higher after this season if he puts together another season like last year. So for me, shoring up our OL in front of Josh is never a bad move.

The chatter around the Worthy trade isn't rational
Alphadawg7 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Let me ask you this...if you are unhappy with what McD and Beane have "done"...as in past tense...then why are you and others seemingly upset at them now going away from what they have previously "done" and trying a new approach? And all before we see what this even looks like in a real game. Picking Worthy for example would have been the same old stuff as before...another undersized WR who isn't physical. We have been losing the physical battle in the postseason in all our playoff exits. We have lost in the trenches, our WR's are taken out of the games by more physical corners, bad weather, etc. We also stunk at running the ball the majority of the past 4 playoffs too, another important aspect that people seem to miss about playoff football. I mean look at the Chiefs, their ability to run the ball or do quick short throws as an extension of running the ball has been a core piece of their back to back Super Bowl runs, not to mention how much they win in the trenches with that OL and the Chris Jones led DL. So for me, I feel like the people who are the biggest critics of what Beane has previously "done" should at least like the fact he is trying to support Allen with a better run game, more reliable pass catches, more diversity including more size and toughness across his offensive weapons. Will it work...we don't know yet, but I would think there would at least be more positivity from those who have not liked their past decisions to see them taking a different approach as opposed to keep on doing the same things that didn't get us to where we wanted to go. -

I watched him closely the whole game for as much as I could see in the footage of the live game and this was my take away too. People want to talk about the 2 TD's that couldn't have been any easier for reasons outside of his own abilities but then don't realize he had 1 catch for 12 yards as a starting WR until that free gimme play by the mistake of the Ravens defense that had nothing to do with his abilities. I took him in FanDuel as a great value because he was starting and I know Reid could find a way to get him maybe a big play or two. But, as a starting WR running routes, he was not much of a factor most of the game. But to be fair to Worthy, it was also his first game ever in the NFL too. And that is why I said KC was the absolute perfect landing spot for him because he does not need to be a primary read or high volume target to bring great value to their offense. This year they already have a great mix of talent, size, and speed amongst Kelce, Rice, Brown, and Pacheco to go along with Mahomes ability to make and extend plays with his legs. Having his presence and threat is enough for them without him actually being heavily targeted as a primary read. Especially given they are the most unique, creative, and best team in the league when it comes to play design, confusion, etc. -

Don't disagree with that, but Beane has talked extensively about bringing diversity to the WR room and weapons group this year. So if Diggs was still here, the group would still be small and lack toughness. And while they have talked about all those things, I do think they have spoken more about getting more physical, more reliable, bigger, and tougher overall. With Worthy only really bringing speed to the table and a small frame, I actually think had Diggs still been here it further makes Coleman the more likely pick to bring some variance and compliment the group more than another undersized WR. But just my 2 cents, obviously Diggs was gone before the draft, so know way to know for sure -

Peoples grades are impacted by what they need. No NFL teams grades players on a generic scale whose grade translates equally to any other teams board. KC did not need a WR1 alpha receiver. Someone looking at Worthy as a WR1 player may not have a first round grade on him in that role. Someone looking at him as a speed component that compliments other receivers will grade him differently in that regard and place a higher grade/value on him than someone else. -

Lets not pretend every teams draft needs and strategy is the same to where "Reid and Veach disagreed" with Beanes. KC didn't need a WR1, they had Kelce, Rice, and Brown already...they had the luxury of taking a speed specialist where the 28 other teams who did not take Worthy had different needs, systems, and priorities that kept them from selecting him. -

To be honest, even with Diggs here I do not think Worthy would have been the pick, I think it still is Coleman. Beane has talked about how we have been lacking for years that more physical presence and size. He even stated that while Diggs plays with an edge, he still just doesn't have the size and strength either. He went back to when Brown and Cole were here together too in this convo. One thing was clear this year, there was a refocus on getting tougher and more physical after continually watching teams like KC and Cincy be more physical than us in the playoffs, including at home in bad weather. And having smaller guys already around Diggs in Shakir and Samuel, I don't think they would have selected Worthy even if Diggs was still here as it didn't fit what they were trying to do this year. -

Respectfully disagree they had intel. Fans think GMs know more than they do in this regard. What they definitely know is more than just them need or want a WR and any team ahead of them…or behind them…can draft one (or move up to draft one) they covet ahead of their pick. And the only way to assure themselves to get said player is make the move to go get him. NE was calling teams to move up at the end of round 1 for example which later the reported rumor was they were after Coleman, but live in the draft they don't know who NE is after. Look at Chicago when they paid a bounty to move up 1 spot swapping picks with SF just to get Trubisky. SF was not going to take a QB, they did that to be sure someone else didn't trade with SF to get Trubisky. KC moved up to insure they got their guy because they felt the cost to do so was worth the price to be sure they got him. Which happens every draft and its why teams move up. If you ever listen to any current or past GM talk about this (and even Beane did too after this draft when discussing KC taking Worthy), the GM's never disclose the player they are after in those trade conversations. -

My wife is a die hard Niners fan, we follow the team closely and a buddy of hers she went to HS with works for the Niners organization. From everything I heard Pearsall was their guy all the way, it was who they felt fit their scheme and I am pretty confident Worthy wouldn’t have been the pick even if he was on the board. I mean anything is possible though, but I doubt they would have done anything different. -

If that was Josh Allen it’s all anyone would talk about, this miss to Flowers. Because it’s Lamar, they are going to forget about that and talk about how great he was and unlucky he was with the toe.
