  1. You left what I thought was the biggest...the absurd bounty Jags paid - on the level you should only do for a QB - to move up and get a WR on a team who is terrible in the trenches. They gave up 1st, 2nd, 4th and next years 1st. Forget WR/CB, they better hope Hunter can play LT & DT instead. Browns made out in that trade...big time. The only good move I have seen them make in a long time. Jags GM is the youngest in the league and out here running the team like its a Madden game franchise. They were not a WR away from contending...their OL and DL have serious issues and now they have no ammo to address it. Was Hunter worth taking at 2 overall...absolutely...was it a good move based on what they gave up...not in my opinion.
  2. Some names that stick out to me, in no particular order: S - Nick Emmanwori S - Xavier Watts LB - Carson Schewesinger DT - TJ Sanders DT - Alfred Collins DT - Deone Walker EDGE - Landon Jackson EDGE - Jordan Burch EDGE - Donovan Ezeiruaku WR - Luther Burden WR - Jaylen Royals WR - Jayden Higgins Some would be only there likely in a trade up like Emmanwori for example. But these are guys that stand out for me on the board, and we have the ammo to be aggressive and move up from 56 too.
  3. Last I saw they met with him at the combine, but I don't think they met with on a visit. But I hope he is in play at 56 or 62, that is a lot of BEEF to put next to Oliver.
  4. Fair...but also no one bats 1.000, so cant hold that against them too much. And Elam's problem I think stems a lot more from scheme fit than anything. And I think they banked on his commitment and study obsession to be better that they could coach up his raw areas in zone and help correct his handy nature. Then Benford emerging I think also cut off opportunities and development. Hairston is not a scheme square peg they need to change his game to fit to what we want to do. So I think the chances of success here are much higher than taking a guy like Elam and trying to change his style to fit ours.
  5. Yeah I agree, I say it every year, just listen to Beane and its pretty clear what is not likely and what is more likely. With Grant being mocked to us so much, so many people here talking about Grant, Harmon, etc...I was under the impression Bills were showing a lot of interest, but I had not checked the pre-draft visits. You pointed out that you didn't think they had them in and only met with them at the combine, so I went and looked, and that was correct. And one of the safest bets in the Beane era is that our early picks will have been one of our predraft visits. If I am not mistaken, I think maybe only one pick in the first couple rounds in the Beane era wasn't in for a pre-draft visit...you might be able to confirm that or correct that. Either way, it was pretty telling seeing who they brought in, and then Beane basically verbatim stated how he was weighing secondary higher than DL based on snap counts and overall contributions because of how we rotate our DL.
  6. Based on what I was told - which was don't expect DL in the first unless there is a big run on DBs - and what Beane said at his presser before the draft, I don't think DT/DL was ever going to be the pick. I shared this with some people here in private, but I had some people I trust tell me the other day that Bills have secondary weighted higher than DL heading into the draft. Beane echoed this himself almost verbatim talking about the value of a guy playing near 100% of the snaps vs a DL in how we like to rotate them being a 2 down player and seeing 40-50% snaps and the overall impact said player has based on snap counts. And @GunnerBilloriginally pointed out to me too that if you look at our predraft visits, none of the expected first DT's were players we had in. We only met with guys like Harmon and Grant at the combine, but no documented visits or further meetings with them since. The DT's we had in were all guys expected to be more 2nd round targets or later, and the DB's we were meeting with had more guys we would likely need to target at 30 to land. So...I think its pretty clear that secondary help was their primary target heading into the draft with our first pick. As with any draft, how it falls could have impacted that, but everything points to they got a guy who was a primary target.
  7. I mean...if this regime knows a position its CB...so I think with this staff and Tre mentoring, this kid just landed in a great spot to reach his potential.
  8. I mean they had their pick of almost every top CB in the draft...so I would guess that says it pretty much had to be the guy they really wanted.
  9. Tre is going to be an excellent mentor for this kid
  10. Finally some speed in our secondary...much needed.
  11. Im still bullish on both Kincaid and Coleman...so youre doing just fine in my book
  12. Lord knows we need some speed in our secondary
  13. Finally some speed in our secondary!
  14. Never thought Will Johsnon would be here...wondering if they pull the trigger. BPA IMHO
  15. Odd side note...my buddy just text me he is playing in a softball game right now against T.O. Lol
  16. Cowboys tehcnically did it when they took Aikman in the first and then Steve Walsh in the first of the Supplemental draft that year. Skins did it with RG3 and Cousins in the 4th. Its such an important position, and they been stuck in medicority or worse...not the craziest idea TBH.
  17. I dont love that Balt got Starks here to pair with Hamilton. Don't like it at all to be honest.
  18. Det I think goes edge here...I mean Bills probably have their pick of all the top CBs here...while a trade down could still be in play, I would think they would just take their guy.
  19. Ravens taking a DB here...either S or CB I have to imagine
  20. I misheard the trade comp...I didn't realize Atlanta gave up next years first. That seems a bit steep, but it was a big move up, so makes sense. Like this move for the Rams, they might be in the market for life after Stafford next year and now have 2 firsts to potentially shop.
  21. I like making the playoffs...while Bengals fans watch other teams do it.
  22. Its not a crime...I am all for a WR. I am saying some of you talk like our offense is in the muck and its not close to our biggest problem. I am pounding the table for Donte Thornton all off season personally. Address the D, add a 6'5" 4.3 WR in the mid rounds, and lets go! And you would also take the Bengals WR room...as anyone would...they havent made the playoffs since 2022 with Joe Burrow who had a better season than the MVP Allen did this year statistically in most categories.
  23. Im all for drafting a WR...and I know we will IMHO. I am just saying there is theme like our offense is in the muck even coming off a historically great offensive season.
