  1. He was pretty productive when given chances. Saying he “couldn’t” break through last year isnt really fair when he had a future HOF who was role model and leader along side a productive rookie in front of him.
  2. I like Yeldon, and I think the staff does too. They have been quite complimentary to him and what he did when given chances last year. I think he could be a good compliment to Yeldon in the same way any of those other FA's you listed would be as I expect Devin to still get the lion shares of the carries. Im not sure any of those guys listed have much more to offer than Yeldon does who already knows our offense. So I think pepper in some fresh legs in the draft (some good ones will be there in rounds 2-5 this year IMO) and let Devin take the lead role fully with Yeldon backing him up until the rookie proves he can take over the backup duties full time (pass pro will be the key factor on that). That being said, I wouldn't hate a signing of any of those guys above either. Just like the idea of getting some fresh legs next to Devin as well to form a formidable one-two punch for years to come. And I think this is a good draft to do it as we dont have a lot of holes and the RB depth is nice this year in the mid rounds.
  3. I agree and honestly I think if this really happened, the first 10 picks would probably all be (and should be) QBs and Darnold and Mayfield are the two QBs I would project to replace Bosa and AD to go in too 10. And yeah, totally agree on how GMs would be split on Allen and Dak.
  4. I disagree, respectfully. Wentz is very high risk player and living off of one partial season. Dak, well I think I’m less a believer in Dak as most, and I think he’s peaked. Personally, I think Allen is clearly gonna be one who splits opinions, but only one GM inside the top 10 needs to believe in him, and I think there are quite a few who see him as a rising star. If Bills picked in top 10 Beane would take him over Wentz and Dak IMHO as would I.
  5. I can not see any scenario where a RB would go top 10, especially since top end RBs will easily be there in rounds 2 through 5 without question as teams focus on QB and the trenches first. 'I have Josh Allen going top 10 without question IMO. Not every GM needs to believe in him, just one on the board in the top 10 does and right now I would bet good money that the majority of the league sees Allen as a rising star who is a fiery and competitive leader, more than say a limited QB who is a passing liability. My top 10 predictions would be: Patrick Mahomes - Duh Russell Wilson - I think he edges out Watson given he likely still has 5 to 7 top end years left and he is the better player right now Deshaun Watson - I think he edges Lamar out given he's more of a QB and more coaches know how to build an offense for him rather than Lamar Lamar Jackson - He may not go this high, would depend on the team picking given he needs an offense specifically built for him, but given his MVP season I am still putting him here Nick Bosa - Best young defensive player in the NFL. He goes before Donald IMO as I think Bosa makes a bigger impact on win total than Donald does. A total mistake IMO to not take a QB, but some GM is going to be enamored with Bosa and the impact he made as a rookie and take a guy on his way to being a top 5 overall player in the NFL. Josh Allen - Has one of the highest and brightest ceilings, if not the top ceiling, of just about any young QB not named Mahomes. Youth and his significant improvements over his first 2 seasons and still being a dual threat makes him go early. Kyler Murray - Lived up to the hype and has a lot of upside, I think GM's here go for the upside over a more proven veteran. Dak Prescott - I am not the biggest Dak guy, but I think looking at whats on the boards and his personal stats, GM's will look his way over other veterans as he is younger than most of them. Carson Wentz - Not a big believer in him due to health issues, but teams are going to look for a QB early early early with all the runs on them and he has the talent, even though the body is not to be trusted. A team rolls the dice here that they can keep him healthier and this team I would look to invest early and heavy on OL after drafting Wentz. Aaron Donald - Best DT in the NFL goes with less appealing QB options still on the board. IMO anyone not taking a QB in the top 10 is headed in a bad direction as the pickings by round 2 are going to be very slim, especially if this is a snake draft. But some GM is going to want the elite player in Donald rather than say someone from the Tier 2 pool (or even what some wold rank as tier 3) of QB's. NOTE: I did the list above based on how I think a top 10 would go with 10 GM's drafting. If I was going to do this draft personally, I would draft Josh Allen at #4, and if not there certainly at #5. I am sure I will get a lot of "homer biased" comments for that, but I truly believe Josh Allen has a brighter career future than Lamar. I really like Lamar, but honestly, I have seen gimmick systems like Baltimore ran last year work very well early but lack sustainability once the rest of the league catches on with defending it. And I truly believe the combo of the Niners and Bills games last year in back to back weeks gave the NFL the blueprint to slow down that offense. And I am not sold that Lamar can be consistent enough in the pocket once teams neutralize the run all the time offense.
  6. There are like 100 better choices than McCoy. Why would we bring him back? He's a shell of himself now and also is jaded a bit about being released. Agree, its worked thus far and really helped build a players culture. That being said, its time to add a playmaker opposite Devin rather than a vet. McCoy is DEFINITELY not the answer of course. Draft someone to compliment him and let Yeldon backup Devin until our rookie is ready to step up as Devins primary backup and compliment.
  7. They will not take a QB. Doesnt matter who is there, there is 0% chance they take a QB. They also will not draft a kicker of any kind. Everything else is fair game, although I do still think its less likely it would be a WR as Beane has repeatedly boasted about the depth of this class and how guys taken in rounds 4 and 5 will be prospects that push starters for their spots in this draft. So I find it hard to see Beane using our first and 3 other picks on a WR then using our 2nd as well. Although I won't be surprised to see Beane take a WR in the draft, just don't think its likely unless someone they absolutely covet and love falls there and is BPA by a wide margin on his board. I think the most likely position drafted there is RB, DE, OL, DB in no particular order.
  8. I’m calling it now: Zay Jones still sucks and I was right ?
  9. Its only rare because there is only one spot on the field this can occur. It’s not rare because it’s a difficult play to make, in fact this “play” happens many times a game on other parts of the field where you don’t get the score as its literally just a sack or tackle for loss like anywhere else on the field. 2 points and losing the ball is a sufficient scoring system for said play. Anything else would be excessive and unnecessary IMO
  10. Gase and company are doing a good enough job on their own jacking up the Jets, they don’t need O'Brien's help.
  11. Crazy AB saga was after Josh Allens rookie year, not after this past year. Big difference from one year to the next with Josh and where he is at now.
  12. There is literally no way anyone can watch this breakdown of Diggs and say Cooks is "similar", "comparable", "essentially the same", etc. Diggs is substantially better than Cooks, and I like Cooks as he is from my hometown.
  13. Football players and people who know football respect Allen as a major up and coming QB. Media idiots who want to force their incorrect early biased on him not so much.
  14. When either Diggs or Thielen was not playing... Diggs excelled. Thielien wasn't as productive. For me, Diggs is more talented and the better player with Theilens production being helped a lot by Diggs drawing the better coverage. This year, I would bet money that Diggs out produces Thielen assuming they play the same amount of games. Dont get me wrong, I like Thielen a lot but he just isn't as good as Diggs in most key areas. Diggs is a better route runner, has faster feet, better deep threat, and better at contested catches.
  15. Yeah I was going to the LA games and had a great time. Football was decent enough as well.
  16. This over paid stuff is getting out of control. We did not overpay. Diggs was cheaper than trading up just 4 places in the draft to get a WR. We landed a bonafide top 10, maybe top 5 WR in the NFL who literally leads all WRs in contested catches since 2017, is the top deep threat in the league and an elite route runner. We gave up some extra scrap picks that we picked up from trading some bad players away last year (Beane is a wizard) and still have ALL of our remaining picks in this draft outside the first we used essentially on Diggs. Furthermore, Diggs contract is substantially better even though he is a much better player. The main additional cost was next years 4th, which is equivalent in value to a 5th this year. Players taken in the 4th, 5th, and 6th rounds are most often guys for depth and ST. Sure, decent starters and even great players are found there, but the odds of that are low in comparison. We essentially threw in some low round picks to guarantee the WR we added to our team with a first round pick was a stud. Never have I seen so many people concerned with a few scrap picks when those picks landed us an elite player. More importantly...Beane was NEVER going to use all those picks to draft players. We dont have enough open roster spots and was always going to use them as leverage to get a big trade for a veteran player or move around the draft. So we didnt lose anything here, Beane used his extra capital to get a stud instead of an unknown.
  17. WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER of best reply of the week.
  18. Cooks is from my hometown of Stockton, CA. So always root for him, but I think his big issue is he is too one dimensional. I feel like he is more of a complimentary piece than a go to weapon. But his contract suggests he's a #1 and I just don't think he warrants his cap hit. Then again maybe there is more to it from a personality or locker room side of things, but I don't recall hearing any negative things about him.
  19. Wait...people actually thought that Bills would try and sign Cam? LMAO
  20. It would most likely cost MORE to get Lamb than it did to get Diggs. Diggs is already a top 10 WR in the NFL, and could arguably be in the top 5 conversation. Diggs is an elite route runner, elite contested catch WR and also a massive deep threat. I like Lamb and Juedy a lot, but at the end of the day, the odds of them being as good as Diggs will be over the next 2 seasons are quite low, and I would even say less than 5%. The odds of them being as good as Diggs over their career are not all that great either historically, and that is just because Diggs is that good and not many get to that level even when coming out, even as top tier prospects. At the end of the day, Lamb and Juedy no longer matter...we have an elite WR in Diggs already whose got 4 years on his contract and is only 26. Why do people still care about any of the top rookie WR's? Lamb could go on to be a great himself...but who cares, we just got a young PROVEN WR is actually already one of the best in the NFL right now that will do more for Allen this year than any rookie would.
  21. Evidence for improvement is there in tons. The kid has made large leaps in his abilities in short windows continuously. There is literally no reason to not believe he will continue to get better at this stage. Stepped off the Wyoming field for the last time. Works with Palmer and makes huge strides and wows at the combine. Comes into the NFL labeled the least ready to play and raw, yet was the starter by the 2nd half of the first game. (And both McD and Beane said going into 3rd preseason game, the plan was to start him until our OL nearly got the kid killed). Has some big wow moments and also lots of struggles before getting hurt against Houston. Comes back week 10 and looks like a completely different QB and ends the season strong. Comes into 2nd season and greatly improves in a number of key areas but struggles heavily with the long ball and turnovers. After some tough lessons in the first NE game, goes on to be 2nd only to Lamar over rest of seasons in TD scored and nearly eliminates all turnovers. Ends the season connecting on a much improved on the long ball than earlier in the season. Tied over the last 2 seasons in 4th QTR comebacks despite missing or not finishing 6 games. This kid has taken large leaps in the offseason, preseason, and in season both years since stepping off the Wyoming field for the last time. If anyone looks at this kid and says he's peaked or cant get better...well...they probably shouldn't be evaluating players anyway. Does not "guarantee" improvement, it just means there is a mountain of evidence to suggest he will continue to improve and literally zero evidence to suggest he won't. Every aspect of his game has improved since entering the NFL and in significant amounts.
  22. Agreed. Brady also had a wife who made more money than him and made a killing in endorsements. Brady's situation was about as unique as one can get in terms of making it easy to take team friendly deals.
