He isnt gong to sniff being a WR2 here, which is why I do not think he would ever come here. He has no chance at significant reps outside of injuries and would be no better than WR4 on the depth chart.

At 54 the Bills will take? Your guess here!!

It will be one of Dugger, Diggs, or Winfield IMO. -
TSW Mock Draft 3.0 - 4 Rounds - Complete!!!
Alphadawg7 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With the 50th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select: Jalen Raegor, WR, TCU We spoke with GM Alphadawg via phone after this pick and here is what he had to say: “You know, we were really considering trading down since my idiot predecessor Pace managed to trade away so many draft picks leaving us without a pick until the mid 5th round after this. But our offense was just too pathetic to pass on a playmaker like Reagor here. Yeah I know Trubisky is a pansy and a big part of the problem, but we also need more playmakers. We strongly considered Chinn and Dugger here as well, but again the complete ineptness of our offense last year just had to be addressed. On behalf of the Bears organization and all its fans, I think I can also fairly say to our former GM who I replaced...FU Pace, you’re an idiot.” @Virgil and the Dallas Cowboys are now on the click. -
TSW Mock Draft 3.0 - 4 Rounds - Complete!!!
Alphadawg7 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With the 43rd pick in the 2020 NFL draft, the Chicago Bears Draft: Jacob Eason, QB, Washington Huskies. Knowing neither Trubisky or Foles is a long term answer, the Bears look for a young big armed QB to develop who can make all the throws in that Chicago wind. Plan is to let Foles and Trubisky battle it out to start 2020 and leave Eason on the bench for the season to get ready to compete for the starting job in 2021. We spoke with GM Alphadawg today via phone after this pick and he said, “We like what we have seen from Eason. He has that big arm and can make all the throws, plus he is an accurate passer. We know he’s a little more raw right now, and we also know Trubisky sucks and Foles isn’t much better. So we are excited to finally add some upside and talent to our list QB room and hopefully stop wasting all this damn money we paid Mack because our offense sucks every week.” @Philo and the Colts are on the clock -
Neglect? No offense man, but thats a misguided statement. You can not fix all positions at once. In a surprise playoff run year 1, they made a move to get a WR who did actually help us make the playoffs as we dont win the snow game without KB. Then with the QB in place, he went and got Brown and Cole last year and said they tried to trade for another in season. Now he traded for Diggs. Sorry bud, saying he has neglected WR position is just false.

Is Darrynton Evans Beane’s Draft Crush?
Alphadawg7 replied to Johnny Hammersticks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My first choice is still AJ Dillon in the 3rd. But I would be excited about Evans too, he is high on my list and I don't think he will last to our 4th round pick. Could see Beane trading up from our 4th to get him though like he did Knox last year if he doesn't take a RB with either of our 2nd and 3rd round picks. -
Whats wrong with that statement? Doesnt mean he doesnt like talented WR's, just means he doesnt see it as a team must have a #1 to succeed. But if talent is available he has always said he will do everything he can to make the roster and team better and likes draft assets to use both to acquire veteran players in trade and to move around the draft to get guys they covet.

Which running back do you hope the Bills draft and why?
Alphadawg7 replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
AJ DILLON, reminds me of Jerome Bettis or Derrick Henry. Size. Power. Speed. Great Hands. Elusive. -
Man I would look into this if I was Beane and see what the cost would be. What would you be willing to trade for him? Him and Knox would stress the middle of the D so bad while Diggs, Brown and Cole terrorize the secondary https://twitter.com/i/events/1250553008716427268

I will take the Bears please. And if you dont fill one of the last 2 teams by draft time, I am happy to take one of those too since none of these teams have a first round pick -

Is there still room for me? -
I agree, and I’m hoping AJ Dillon last until our pick and its him. Major draft crush on him right now. A young Jerome Bettis is what I see. Also Derrick He th clone. Big. Powerful. Fast. Elusive. Great hands.

Wait...this senseless debate is still happening? There isnt one thing that Cooks does better than Diggs. And there are a number of things Diggs does a LOT better than Cooks. This is a senseless debate.
-
But we already have a starting RB...so picking a complimentary RB in rounds 3, 4, or 5 for example could be just fine.
-
Yup we sure can. Or the 2nd or 3rd too, wherever Beane sees the opportunity. What excuses? I hate this BS cop out response that TSW throws out to refute facts. Every time someone presents someone else with facts that they can't refute, they call it "excuses". FACT: He missed 4 games. That impacts "totals" you are obsessed about. FACT: He was FIRST in the NFL among RB's with at least 150 carries in Yards Per Carry. FACT: He was 2nd string RB behind a future HOF RB, because he was a rookie, for most the season. FACT: He was tied for 9th in the NFL with 7 runs of 20+ yards despite ONLY 151 carries and 4 missed games. League leader had 11 and twice as many carries (meaning Devin would have projected to have 14 with same number of carries which would have been first in NFL too) You can ignore those FACTS all you want, but it doesn't change the truth. Devin has earned starting responsibilities from his play ON THE FIELD, including his playoff game where had 134 total yards averaging 4.8 ypc and 12.5 yards per catch. And again, doesn't even matter what you think or even I think, the remaining fact is the coaching staff sees him as the starter too right now.

McCaffrey Signs 4 Years 64 Million
Alphadawg7 replied to aristocrat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I LOVE McCaffrey...I really do. BUT: I would not pay ANY RB that kind of money. You know why his stats are so gaudy? Because the rest of the offense sucks. No RB should have that many receptions, that means you cant throw the ball downfield. Yes he is an elite talent...but you can find a Pro Bowl RB for a fraction of the cost. And putting this much wear and tear on a RB is going to take a toll, there is no question about that. Dont get me wrong, his talent level warrants this size of a deal...but at the end of the day, spending this much on the RB position is not an effective way to build a winning team. What team has this worked out for? Did it help Dallas when they paid Zeke? Nope. Did it help the Rams when they paid Gurley? Nope. Did it help the Cardinals when they paid David Johnson? Nope. Did it help the Jets when they paid Bell? Nope. Did it hurt the Chargers when they did NOT pay Gordon? Nope, they were better without him and using Ekeler and Jackson at a fraction of the cost. As much as I LOVE EMC, I hate this deal...not because he's not good enough, but because its a bad contract in terms of how teams are built these days. If I was the Panthers, I would have traded him for a first and some extra picks then looked at the draft to find a RB. This contract will without a doubt be a problem for the Panthers at some point IMO. If the Panthers were close to contending, sure I guess pay the heart and soul of your offense if you must. But they are in full rebuild and aren't close to contending. I would have just traded him and kept the cap cleaner and look to rebuild fully. -

But wait, I thought I heard on TSW we were trading multiple first round picks for him. -
My pick for the 2nd round - Jonathan Taylor
Alphadawg7 replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This. Taylor will likely not be a Buffalo Bill thanks to fumbling. There are other RB's just as exciting who dont have fumble issues. My personal draft crush is AJ Dillon. Get me an elusive bruiser who can catch too all day, every day. He reminds me of a young Jerome Bettis and Derrick Henry. -
He was first in yards per carry. So let me get this straight. You want to use TOTALS on a season where he MISSED FOUR games and also SPLIT TIME with a future HOF RB? Are you for real right now? Are you trying to say Devin was not productive when he touched the ball? If so, then you should probably stop analyzing players given he was one of the most productive RB's in the NFL on a per touch basis as a rookie. I love how you want to use totals when he only played 12 games and split time and completely ignore all the plays he made when he was given chances and how he led the NFL in ypc. Doesnt matter what you and I think...the bottom line he earned the starting job with the coaching staff and the players. Case closed. This is a terrible post. Sorry.
-
1. Devin has earned the starting job. Thats not even debatable. 2. They are not looking for a replacement at all for Devin, they are looking for a compliment to him. 3. Yeldon was behind a highly effective rookie and a future HOF RB who was also there to mentor Devin and be a steward in the locker room. 4. I never said not to bring in a RB, I said in every thread I am in to draft a RB. 5. I have said we don't need another retread RB, roll with Devin and Yeldon as his backup until said rookie is ready to take the backup job away from Yeldon.

I was being sarcastic lol Rereading it i see it kind of falls flat despite me LMAO after so edited it out lol

Yes excellent add on point

Your argument is grossly flawed. You are comparing players at positions who play way longer into their careers (including guys into their 40’s as you have multiple on your list) at high levels than RBs. Sorry but nothing you wrote actually makes a case for an aging retread Veteran RB. Even one of the few RBs you named, Priest Holmes was in his prime and had been solid for a lesser Ravens team before breaking out for KC.
