No offense, but I don't think you really know what the situation is there. They have to eat that contract longer than that, and they want to resign Drake. He has a big contract left, its not one year. They need to move him so they can sign Drake. David Johnson is essentially their 3rd RB right now (if they resign Drake like they want), and yet still one of the highest paid RB's in the league. No way they way they are paying Drake while still paying DJ top 5 RB money to be 3rd on the depth chart. And while you say a rebuilding team wont do this...well a rebuilding Houston Texans team did a few years ago in 2017 to get rid of Brock Osweilers contract. And they paid a 2nd round pick to do it and cash. And there is talk a couple teams could go down this road to get rid of bad contracts this offseason.

I just don't see us bringing in 3 relevant WR's. Sure, more will get added for camp bodies, but I am talking guys who legit are competing for a spot. I really think its going to be 2 at most and then they will look at TE, RB, and OL to help bolster the rest of the offense. At the end of the day, 3 WRs are near roster locks in Smoke, Cole, and Roberts (who just made another Pro Bowl as a KR). They aren't trying to go 7 WRs on the active roster come week 1. So they really are looking for a starter next to Smoke and Cole in either a top WR rookie prospect or an important trade (Diggs) or free agent signing (AJ Green). Once they have which ever one of those, they will probably add another rookie in the draft too. If they trade for Diggs, then that rookie likely wont come until day 3. If they sign AJ, then I think they still go rookie WR in first 3 rounds given Greens age and injury history. And if they elect to address WR only in draft, I think its a near lock to go WR in first 2 rounds and then maybe another one on day 3. I doubt they add 3 premium WR's. They still have guys like Foster, McKenzie, Duke and they seem to like Nick Easley's potential too to battle for the 5th WR spot. For me, our WR room is going to look like one of 3 ways come camp (besides the camp body types) Diggs, Brown, Cole, and Roberts with spots locked down...with Foster, McKenzie, Duke, and maybe either Easley or a day 3 drafted rookie. AJ Green, Brown, Cole, high profile rookie taken in first 3 rounds, Roberts, and then the other guys battling to try and justify to keep a 6th guy. Brown, Rookie (from 1st/2nd round), Cole, Roberts and then maybe a 2nd rookie along with Foster, McKenzie, Duke, and maybe Easley battling for the final spot.

Best answers would be Lee Evans, Schobel, or Mario Biggest need is at WR and Edge. Of those 3, I think I would go Lee Evans. He I think would have an even better career playing with Allen. Him and Smoke would be really hard to cover.

Yet plenty of smoke and rumors around those exact trades. Houston did this exact scenario with Cleveland to get rid of Osweiler, except they gave Cleveland a 2nd round pick to do it. And I think at this point, its quite possible Diggs gets traded and all the rumors are talking a 2nd round pick is what could get it done. There are no guarantees, and rumors are always just rumors, but to say never when both of those exact scenarios have some smoke building around them is a bit premature IMO.

Im all for trading to get Lamb IF...and ONLY IF...he slides in the draft into a reasonable cost range to go get him. No way should we trade up into the top 10 or anything crazy like that. But honestly, with the QB situations, there is a chance that one of Juedy or Lamb falls to 15th pick or even later. At that point, I am on the phone if I am Beane. To go up more than that would be to cost prohibitive in a draft rich with WR talent. But with Juedy and Lamb being ideal for us and in another tier over the other WR's, then I think its worth trading up for if they get within a reasonable trade range. Nothing that involves next years first for example should remotely be considered. This is also why I would love to see us trade a low round pick for David Johnson where we could pick up their 3rd round pick as well for taking over that contract. We easily can handle his contract for the next 2 seasons in our cap, and then we got an extra valuable pick to make a move like this if the opportunity is there. And if no trade up, we still have an extra 3rd in a draft loaded with talent that will be available still in the 3rd.

Devin is definitely a guy who runs with more power than he gets credit for. He is elusive and can go through you too. That being said, he's also 5'8" and while he's got a good build, would be nice to have a complimentary back that can also go in for the tough yards to take some wear off Devin. I don't think we need to something crazy like sign Derrick Henry (which would never happen anyway) like some people would love to see. We just need a compliment to Devin, and preferably one that can catch and also be of value in down and short situations too. This is why a guy like AJ Dillion in the draft makes sense as someone started a thread about. There are other RB's in this draft too of course, but at the end of the day, Devin will see the lion share of the carries as a 3 down back. So getting one of value in the draft to compliment him is ideal. Personally, if I was too project Devins stats next season I would put it at about 1250 yards rushing (Josh and a complimentary back will still some of his yards), 4.8+ ypc with 50+ receptions for another 400 to 500 yards and about 7 total TD's (again I think Allen poaches some of his TD's running it in himself).

I don't think Goff is a championship caliber QB. He's too soft. Honestly at times remind me of Jim Everett. If the Rams cant play defense, they won't win with Goff IMO. There is a clear blue print to slow him and the Rams offense down, and come playoff time, I don't want to lean on Goff to carry the team through tough games. If I was the Rams I would be trying to trade Gurley as they aren't using him like they are paying him and focusing on how to reload that defense. And even with the talent they do have, they seem to underperform. So not a guarantee adding another player like Slay can fix their issues, but if I am the Rams that is still where I am focused...defense.

AZ is looking to move his contract, like Osweiker trade from Hou to Cle. Basically paying us a 3rd to take on his final 2 years of his deal. We can afford to do this as we won’t have cap issues over the next 2 seasons. It’s a rumored trade discussion. I like Pittman a lot too, but I think his 40 time could make him slip to the 3rd given the immense depth of WR in this draft.

I want a big WR still too. What do you think about this: Trade our 2nd for Diggs. Trade a 6th to AZ for David Johnson AND their 3rd. Now draft Michael Pittman (or other big WR prospect) with Arizona’s 3rd. Still have our first, our own 3rd, and our 4th to use on spots like DE, OT, LB or DB. Thats a very doable scenario.

Im not going to freak out if we don't trade for Diggs, but the odds of hitting on a WR in the 2nd that will be close to as good as Diggs is less than likely. Yes, great players come from all over the draft, even UDFA...but the ODDS of one being as good or better than Diggs are pretty low and less than likely. Thats just statistical facts. I mean the bust rate in the first round is greater than 50%, let alone the 2nd round historically. Now factor in that a lot of people here don't trust this regime to evaluate WR's (although I personally think thats a bad take by those people given Beane has yet to draft a WR and did a pretty good job finding value in FA last year), and using that 2nd round pick to get a top 10 WR on a good value contract seems to be a no brainer to me.

It makes no logical sense to say that in a situation where they cant afford both to just assume who ever gets traded was traded because he was a "problem". And for all we know, Diggs may have asked to be traded, it could be why he is the one being shopped. Again, you don't actually know that. What are you talking about? He isn't a FA. And a free agent who is proven to be a top 10 player is always better than an unproven prospect. While this class is deep at WR, many of them WILL bust. Draft picks are by far a bigger gamble than a proven pro bowl player. Diggs contract is not a bad contract for us, it would actually be a bargain for his talent level.

I cant see the Skins going that direction instead of taking Chase Young given the contract size differences and Young is probably the best prospect in the whole draft. But, good indication that Chicago is desperate to fix the QB situation. I doubt our #22 pick is going to move the needle enough for them in their quest for a QB at top of draft, but if I am Beane I am making the call to inquire. We can absorb his salary no problem.

1. His team isnt kicking him to the curb. They are in a cap hell with another elite WR on the team, 2 good TEs and a run first offense where the RB is also a dangerous receiver. He is a luxury they can no longer afford. Thats not kicking someone to the curb, thats bad cap management coming back to bite them. 2. Why does he have an "attitude concern"? Because he didn't like the run first offense? Theilen complained about it too, so why doesnt Theilen get labeled with the same attitude problem? 3. The fact that the draft IS stocked also makes it possible to poach a top 10 WR from a team who can no longer afford him so they can TRY and replace him with an affordable contract. 4. Diggs contract is actually great for his talent level. Minn has to shed salary, and paying two top end WR's on a team already loaded with other weapons is not a luxury they can afford, especially with how much they run with Cook now. 5. We wont be doing anything close to "mortgaging the future" on Diggs, his contract is so easy for our cap situation.

I would consider it for Diggs or Golladay, but also don't really think we would need to offer more than a 2nd for them. I would do it for sure if some top end player at DE or WR was obtainable. But, looking round the league, there isn't really anyone I can think of that is likely to be available that would be worthy of our first round pick. Wonder if the Bears would ever consider trading Khalil Mack. Their cap situation sucks, and their QB situation is worse. They aren't going anywhere the way that team is currently built. I seriously doubt they would trade Mack, but he is a guy I would at least make a call about if I was Beane. Then again, I thought there was no way Raiders would trade him either lol, so who knows.

Curious, where do people get that Diggs is a problem? Both him and Theilen (a guy people praise) voiced their dislike of the new offense last year, yet only one who gets flack for it is Diggs. They went from a pass first team to a run first team this season and not a shock that the 2 top end WR's weren't enamored with it. I feel like people assume Diggs is a cancer because Minn is considering moving him, but they are grossly overlooking the fact that Minn is in cap hell and has to do something. And with Cook, having two high cap WR's is more of a luxury than a need. I mean if there was ever a time for Minn to trade Diggs, this is the year. You get back a premium pick in first 2 rounds to use on a WR draft that is the best in years and may be the deepest ever to find a potential replacement without the price tag. Bills on the other hand, have plenty of cap room for a top end WR contract and would be better off brining in a sure thing for our young team and QB than roll the dice on a draft prospect that may take a couple seasons or longer to fully develop. Diggs being available is not an indication he is a problem. Its an indication their GM is a problem and didn't manage the cap well enough to afford two high end WR's on a team that now has a top end run game where the RB is also a dangerous WR. Not to mention, a really good vet TE and a very promising TE coming off his rookie season. Diggs is a luxury they just cant afford.

Trade our 2nd to Minn for Diggs. Trade our 5th to TB for Howard or Brate Draft DE round 1 Draft big WR like Pittman round 3 Draft RB round 4 Sign depth in FA Division title - Strong SB contender.

People are making judgement based on his NFL career. Coming out of college he was the highest rated offensive player and most explosive player in the draft. Top end RB prospect have still gone early in drafts. Spiller would still be a first round pick and probably top 20 player still. So keeping it about his college career and how he was graded as a prospect he is still a first round pick, especially since his type of play As a dual threat RB whose explosive is even more coveted in today’s NFL.

I love Thielen. But he was having a down year before the injury. Diggs had the better year is all I was saying

But he was still better than healthy Theilen. I know cuz I drafted Theilen in fantasy and he was grossly under performing even when healthy.

I mean Josh freaking Rosen was traded for a second. Run to the phone Beane, go get him! While you’re at it, send our 4th to TB for OJ Howard too.

Oliver falling to 9 was a lot more possible than Lamb falling all the way to 22 though. With QBs going in first 8 picks, guys always fall a few spots. But a top ten talent falling to 22 is possible but a lot less likely.

I still personally don’t like that move. I said the Bears trade up for Trubisky was one of the stupidest in history the moment they made it. Maybe if there was an Andrew Luck level prospect sitting there, but not for a QB coming off a major injury who isn’t a slam dunk even if healthy. If you miss, you will set you team back years due to the loss of draft capital. If you hit, you still lose important assets to build a better team around him when you didn’t need to give those assets up. That being said, it’s also entirely possible that Detroit just wants people to think this to entice Miami to trade up with Washington so Chase Young falls to them at 3.
