We also had more draft picks than open roster spots. Beane was never keeping all those picks. He was gonna trade then to move around draft for other unknown commodities. Instead he wisely used them on a proven stud on a great contract.

Still early though, and honestly Beane kept saying we wont be spending in the "deep end of the pool" this year. So I think he's going to maybe pursue one big guy possibly at DE at best. If not, probably look for valuable mid tier guys mostly and look ahead to the draft. He said he wants to keep cap in a good spot to keep home grown talent over next few years.

All good points. My personal opinion is that I am not sold Brady goes to TB. So I think Bucs may look to stay pat and force themselves to take one of the left over QB's if they dont get Brady. Now if Brady goes there (again, believe it when I see it), might be intriguing spot for a trade up for sure. Like you, I am skeptical the cost to get to 13 will be something Beane will pay, and agree Lynch is a good GM who has extracted a lot of value in his trades which could make that slot even more expensive. And in a rich WR draft, I have high doubts Beane makes a real expensive trade up.

And thats what I assume would happen, but the trades or quality or Pro Bowl players to teams we are trying to catch or stay ahead of I could have done without HA. I actually hate the Hurst trade giving Baltimore a 2nd round pick back too for them to potentially use to land another offensive weapon at WR.

Funny, they replaced him with Montgomery who so far, didnt show himself to be better than Howard.

Oh yeah, I am still very high on our own team. We didnt get worse today by any means, just meant would have preferred those guys land on NFC teams or less competitive AFC teams. I still not only expect us to make the playoffs, but be a strong challenger for at least the AFCC game.

Hopkins going to AZ and them NOT giving up their first to Houston basically takes a WR being taken in that slot completely out of the mix. And they have been pretty consistently mocked to take Lamb. Now, Indy trading their pick to SF also takes Indy out of the running for a WR, which they were also somewhat mocked to maybe take a WR. Its not out the question, SF could take a WR, but they also dont need to given depth at WR this draft and a nice young WR in place to go with an Elite TE. Part of me wonders if this is part of a move to go up and get a QB. So one slot and possibly two draft slots ahead of us are no longer going to be spots for a WR. Odds that at least one of Juedy, Lamb, Ruggs to last to 16 or later has now just gone up IMO and maybe even one will last to us at 22. At the very least, I think it makes that one getting to Atlanta at 16 much more probable now and I think that Beane will be interested in going to get one at that point. EDIT: As some have pointed out, 13 might be an intriguing place for us to move up to with SF as well to get Juedy/Lamb.

Well just referencing Colts and Ravens mostly. Rivers signing with Colts makes them legit IMO just cuz they have a pretty solid overall roster and if he can just be solid, they could become a tough out next year. Now they add Buckner too. But overall...I didn't expect us to do anything crazy, just would have preferred not seeing teams we would have a good shot playing the postseason get stronger. Im not at all mad at Beane, just referencing not a fan seeing these teams add some more pieces. Plus Balt picked up another 2nd, which makes me think they will be adding a nice WR in the draft early too in first 2 rounds. Good point on Houston though, possible they take a step back as Colts take a step up.

Me too...but I suspect that they were not interested in sending him to Buffalo who they just faced in playoffs and barely beat. And giving us a major upgrade at an area where most feel an upgrade helps us take an even bigger step forward in the AFC was not something they were into. We are a direct threat to them right now in terms of where we rank in the AFC overall, and Hopkins would have easily put us ahead of them between them losing him and us getting him and filling a major hole with an elite player.

I think we can all cross Julio off the list. I am pretty sure it cost Atlanta more to trade him than keep him. No reason to do so.

I wouldn't be surprise if Diggs is traded, long been rumored to be on the move. But why would Banner say off the radar if he is referencing Diggs? Hes the most on the radar guy to get traded. So I think it could be that Diggs is ALSO maybe moving soon, but not necessarily the top player he is referencing in his tweet either.

Im sure this got some people, but this was immediately disqualified and obvious Peterpan or Rick Roll link given neither of these guys are "off the radar" and most talked about trades at their positions for the past month ha. But good going, I am sure some got some excited who didnt think of that given I see a few obvious replies haha

Some thoughts on who... 1. I dont think its Diggs the tweet is referencing, he said NOT on radars, and he is the most talked about guy for weeks. Disqualifies him as the player mentioned in tweet. Same goes for Cooks, since he's talked about to and on the Radar. Ok...my list: Khalil Mack - Fits "top player" label and not on the radar. News is Teddy B is nearing deal there, wont be cheap. Maybe Mack gets moved to recover some draft assets they gave up in Mitch and Mack trades. JJ Watt - Just because BOB is an idiot. OBJ - Been some speculation about him, but mostly twitter and fan stuff. Haven't seen a lot of real smoke around this, so maybe this is who he is alluding too. Just a few guys that came to mind.
