  1. Wait are we doing the Watkins decoy defense again? I mean hasn’t this been somewhat debunked already given everyone said only Diggs drawing extra attention is the only reason anyone got open last year? Yet here we are with guys open, more efficient, and scoring more points without Diggs. And for all that help Diggs is giving to Nico, who had no problem getting open before Diggs arrival, we are averaging almost 10 more points per game than them despite mailing it in for almost an entire half. And it’s not 2 games, it’s 12 games between last year and this year.
  2. Like I said when this thread was posted originally...Why can't they both be good players? Its 2 weeks into their careers and we are already comparing them? The context of the starts of their seasons couldn't be any different either.
  3. Keep in mind, Shakir was making people pay on the boundary last year too though. I still think you sell Shakir's capabilities a bit too low IMHO. But more importantly, I think too many people over value this "boundary" attack. We have seen MVS get open deep multiple times and Allen just missed on his passes to him. We saw one deep shot to Coleman on the boundary and it was a beauty. And we have seen very little of Samuel so far whose snap counts have been low both probably to help manage the turf toe early and also because of game flow. More importantly, we are winning all over the field. We are getting chunk plays that move the chains and not just from the slot. Coleman has shown both in the preseason, week 1 and even week 2 (even though he didn't get the target) he has a nasty comeback route outside that he is getting big separation on to the point he was able to turn up and get an easy first down and double-digit yards. Knox and Kincaid have been making plays for chunks too, as our RB's. And factor this in: Week 1, Allen had 2 pass attempts until the final 2 min drive to end the half. We would go on to put up 31 points in 31 minutes from that point on. Then week 2, Bills had to take the foot off the gas and chew clock for almost an entire half in a blowout win and we still put up 34 points as a team. This offense has only been humming for about a total time of 5 quarters of play due to game flow and the Bills have outscored their opponents 75-13 in that span. Its early...teams will get film and try and be better prepared to defend this team no doubt. So it will be up to Brady to figure out how to adjust and attack those teams too. But right now, this approach has been highly efficient and effective.
  4. Not sure how there is even a debate at this point. Diggs final 10 games in Buffalo he averaged 8.9 ypc, bad numbers for a backup TE. Now in Houston, after 2 weeks, the Texans have struggled to beat an average at best Colts team and a bad Bears team and Diggs is again averaging a pathetic 7 ypc through 2 weeks. This is a "WR1" allegedly with a YPC average that would get a backup TE cut through 12 games. Is Diggs now a "bad" WR...of course not...but he isn't close to what he was and the fact Beane got a 2nd for him, even if the Vikings surprise and the 2nd is a late 2nd, its a steal. When the offense flowed through Diggs we were 5-5 and losing to terrible teams while we averaged under 20 PPG for six straight games leading to Dorsey getting fired. Once we went away from that our PPG jumped to 28 and we went 6-1 to come back and win the division and 2 seed. 2024 points per game: Houston - 24 with a "stacked" and "loaded" offense with a "mistake free" QB Buffalo - 32.5 with a "bottom 3" group of receivers and weapons and an "overrated and mistake prone" QB. There is no argument that can be made today that suggests we didn't become a better team and offense moving away from Diggs last year and moving on from him this year. Now will this continue to be true, well we don't know. Maybe Diggs starts averaging 80+ yards per game again in Houston as the season goes on, maybe the Bills offense hits a rut when teams have more film on it. But as of today, it's clear Bills have been better since moving away from Diggs first football.
  5. Casualty list though? That has been on defense, the thread is about the offense how efficient it has been. And Cardinals just showed that they are a lot tougher than people thought. Back to the casualty list - We held McBride, MHJ Jr, Hill, and Waddle to a total of 99 yards combined without Taron and Milano week 1 and without them and Bernard week 2.
  6. The context there was important. That was a stolen possession. In a situation where you kickoff but get the ball back on an opening drive turnover, you really have no risk there. You don’t convert, you just shortened the first half where they start with the ball giving us still the advantage getting the ball first in 2nd half. But you convert and it’s like starting with the ball both halves and scoring on the first one with the second one still to come. Now add in how demoralizing it is for them to start with a turnover in a game that is almost a must win for them against the team that’s owned them and their division since it’s their home game and a TD over a FG can feel almost back breaking. It’s mentally a 14 point swing when they come out against our depleted defense in their stadium expecting to score on the opening drive. So if there is a time to be aggressive it’s there IMHO. Had we received the opening kickoff and it was our opening drive, then I take the points unless it was 4th and short. Coming away with zero is like giving them a turnover to start the game.
  7. Not sure you’ve been paying attention. McD is quite consistently aggressive in those situations unless the circumstances dictate otherwise.
  8. All good, and nice response. I actually deleted my post before you replied as I didn’t want it to come off wrong or in a way I didn’t intend. I just wasn’t connecting with some of your earlier comments and must have missed some of the more updated ones. But luckily at least it doesn’t look like you took it wrong. Again, good follow up and very fair response
  9. What was so stupid about the reaction to that game is that no one talked about the heat stroke level conditions Broncos were in under the sun or how a lot of those points were against the Broncos backups.
  10. You don’t think I was serious do you when I typed “Overrated.”? Not sure if this reply is because you think that wasn’t sarcastic or if you know that and you’re just more initiating some convo. To be clear, mine was a sarcastic comment.
  11. No drops - Zilch - There was only completion that was not clean and that was the MVS one week 1 where he slightly bobbled it before securing it, otherwise every other Allen pass attempt has been cleanly caught through 2 games. And Shakir has not dropped a pass since he was a rookie in 2022, and Allens last 28 targets to Shakir have all been completions going back to last year. He was up and down leading up to the season. Doesn't mean he can't earn my confidence back, but right now every time we line up for a kick I still lack the confidence I previously had in Bass early on.
  12. Oh dont get me wrong, I loved prime Cole. But if you give Shakir the same number of targets as Cole I guarantee he gets more yards, first downs, YAC, TD's and probably with a higher catch rate too.
  13. I was joking based on what some said when I gave our WRs and A+ last week ha I have a lot less to hate on this year…Frazier is long gone and McD proved that to be the right move last year and Dorsey is gone and Brady proved that was also the right move last year too and more this year. Davis and all his drops are gone too. Now I am prepared/expecting for MVS to piss me off at some point lol
  14. No way. We only had 250 yards of offense, so If that was an A+ then what was the Pats playoff game when Josh had 5 TD's? 😂
  15. Won Easily Didn't need Superman Josh O Line is looking very good No selfish players, everyone eats Total team effort Secondary is top notch Underrated not overrated Cook is cookin Kicking scares me GO BILLS!
  16. We have done a good job at this too in the past
  17. He is already a better player than Beasley was, and that is not a knock on Beasley, but more a testament to Shakir. Beasely did not have the same strength and YAC chops that Shakir does. Shakir is a far more dangerous player than Cole was. Both these guys are major move the chains weapons when needed a completion, but Shakir brings a whole other level or gear than Cole ever had with the ball in his hands, not to mention, Cole was really only effective short areas of the field where Shakir can attack all 3 zones.
  18. 100% agree, they are out there a lot together, and Beane has said several times they felt Keon was the best blocker of all the WR's in the draft, so they along with Allen have praised him in that regard as much as they have praised him as a receiving weapon. And you see it on the field and on film both blocking in the run game and blocking for other receivers on pass plays. That Shakir TD does not happen last week without both the blocks he got from Hollins (off the snap wipes out the nickel) and Coleman (takes his defender and blocks him deep into the endzone preventing him from making a stop at the goal line).
  19. As someone who watched the All-22 I can tell you this is not at all an accurate representation of whether we had guys getting open. This does not take into account, nor is there any way that it can, guys who are running routes to just draw coverage away on a play designed to get someone else open. Where it less about getting open, and more about where to run to. And both Allen and Brady have talked a lot about this, but no one seems to be paying attention. They keep praising the guys for selling those routes and its creating the kind of success we are seeing where Allen is getting the open window they designed the play for. And we are seeing the evidence on the field and on the film. Does that mean every play has this dynamic, no. But its a part of our offense and been discussed a lot on how unselfish guys are and how hard they run and sell their routes when they know the ball isn't coming their way. Now if the play gets disrupted and Allen has to scramble and extend the play, that is when guys break off those routes and try and come back and get to a spot to help Allen.
  20. Whoa...don't lump into the "OMG this place" crowd. My dogs name is Diggs, I was one of the few that defended Diggs a lot as being more misunderstood than a give me the ball diva. But...if you think that the Josh Allen of last year remotely resembles the same Josh Allen of this year then you were not at all paying attention last year. The narrative on Josh all year was how he didn't seem like he was having as much fun, his normal jovial self we had come to expect. So no disrespect, but you are categorically wrong if you think the energy coming off Josh this offseason, this camp, this preseason, and these first season games is not better and improved from last year. Does that mean it was like that for Diggs entire tenure, of course not. But it is a night and day difference from last year. Case in point, the first blow up between Diggs and Allen came after week 1. This team struggled in 7 of its first 10 games last year. This team turned it around when they focused less on Diggs. Denying any of that isn't facing reality. And I was one of the ones that thought there was no way we trade diggs this offseason because of the cap hit. I figured they would make it work one more season and then trade him next year. But I was wrong, and since the trade, we have seen a lot more into why this had to happen this year, especially with Beane getting a good return.
  21. If only someone had "called that" earlier this offseason 😂
