  1. I will take the Bears please. And if you dont fill one of the last 2 teams by draft time, I am happy to take one of those too since none of these teams have a first round pick
  2. I agree, and I’m hoping AJ Dillon last until our pick and its him. Major draft crush on him right now. A young Jerome Bettis is what I see. Also Derrick He th clone. Big. Powerful. Fast. Elusive. Great hands.
  3. Wait...this senseless debate is still happening? There isnt one thing that Cooks does better than Diggs. And there are a number of things Diggs does a LOT better than Cooks. This is a senseless debate.
  4. But we already have a starting RB...so picking a complimentary RB in rounds 3, 4, or 5 for example could be just fine.
  5. Yup we sure can. Or the 2nd or 3rd too, wherever Beane sees the opportunity. What excuses? I hate this BS cop out response that TSW throws out to refute facts. Every time someone presents someone else with facts that they can't refute, they call it "excuses". FACT: He missed 4 games. That impacts "totals" you are obsessed about. FACT: He was FIRST in the NFL among RB's with at least 150 carries in Yards Per Carry. FACT: He was 2nd string RB behind a future HOF RB, because he was a rookie, for most the season. FACT: He was tied for 9th in the NFL with 7 runs of 20+ yards despite ONLY 151 carries and 4 missed games. League leader had 11 and twice as many carries (meaning Devin would have projected to have 14 with same number of carries which would have been first in NFL too) You can ignore those FACTS all you want, but it doesn't change the truth. Devin has earned starting responsibilities from his play ON THE FIELD, including his playoff game where had 134 total yards averaging 4.8 ypc and 12.5 yards per catch. And again, doesn't even matter what you think or even I think, the remaining fact is the coaching staff sees him as the starter too right now.
  6. I LOVE McCaffrey...I really do. BUT: I would not pay ANY RB that kind of money. You know why his stats are so gaudy? Because the rest of the offense sucks. No RB should have that many receptions, that means you cant throw the ball downfield. Yes he is an elite talent...but you can find a Pro Bowl RB for a fraction of the cost. And putting this much wear and tear on a RB is going to take a toll, there is no question about that. Dont get me wrong, his talent level warrants this size of a deal...but at the end of the day, spending this much on the RB position is not an effective way to build a winning team. What team has this worked out for? Did it help Dallas when they paid Zeke? Nope. Did it help the Rams when they paid Gurley? Nope. Did it help the Cardinals when they paid David Johnson? Nope. Did it help the Jets when they paid Bell? Nope. Did it hurt the Chargers when they did NOT pay Gordon? Nope, they were better without him and using Ekeler and Jackson at a fraction of the cost. As much as I LOVE EMC, I hate this deal...not because he's not good enough, but because its a bad contract in terms of how teams are built these days. If I was the Panthers, I would have traded him for a first and some extra picks then looked at the draft to find a RB. This contract will without a doubt be a problem for the Panthers at some point IMO. If the Panthers were close to contending, sure I guess pay the heart and soul of your offense if you must. But they are in full rebuild and aren't close to contending. I would have just traded him and kept the cap cleaner and look to rebuild fully.
  7. But wait, I thought I heard on TSW we were trading multiple first round picks for him.
  8. This. Taylor will likely not be a Buffalo Bill thanks to fumbling. There are other RB's just as exciting who dont have fumble issues. My personal draft crush is AJ Dillon. Get me an elusive bruiser who can catch too all day, every day. He reminds me of a young Jerome Bettis and Derrick Henry.
  9. He was first in yards per carry. So let me get this straight. You want to use TOTALS on a season where he MISSED FOUR games and also SPLIT TIME with a future HOF RB? Are you for real right now? Are you trying to say Devin was not productive when he touched the ball? If so, then you should probably stop analyzing players given he was one of the most productive RB's in the NFL on a per touch basis as a rookie. I love how you want to use totals when he only played 12 games and split time and completely ignore all the plays he made when he was given chances and how he led the NFL in ypc. Doesnt matter what you and I think...the bottom line he earned the starting job with the coaching staff and the players. Case closed. This is a terrible post. Sorry.
  10. 1. Devin has earned the starting job. Thats not even debatable. 2. They are not looking for a replacement at all for Devin, they are looking for a compliment to him. 3. Yeldon was behind a highly effective rookie and a future HOF RB who was also there to mentor Devin and be a steward in the locker room. 4. I never said not to bring in a RB, I said in every thread I am in to draft a RB. 5. I have said we don't need another retread RB, roll with Devin and Yeldon as his backup until said rookie is ready to take the backup job away from Yeldon.
  11. I was being sarcastic lol Rereading it i see it kind of falls flat despite me LMAO after so edited it out lol
  12. Your argument is grossly flawed. You are comparing players at positions who play way longer into their careers (including guys into their 40’s as you have multiple on your list) at high levels than RBs. Sorry but nothing you wrote actually makes a case for an aging retread Veteran RB. Even one of the few RBs you named, Priest Holmes was in his prime and had been solid for a lesser Ravens team before breaking out for KC.
  13. Ugh, what? How does that make sense? You are using his totals (as a RB who split the load with Gore) versus his average production per touch where he was tied for first in yards per carry? Sorry that was a silly argument IMHO. He was highly productive with his touches, but as a rookie he shared the duties with a future HOF RB so his “totals” are not going to reflect his overall productivity fairly or accurately. In fact, saying Devin had “low” production is about the worst assessment I’ve seen yet on any topic related to our running game. PS: He also missed 4 games too...so again, his “totals” being used to show he had low production is pretty useless way to grade how productive he was.
  14. He was pretty productive when given chances. Saying he “couldn’t” break through last year isnt really fair when he had a future HOF who was role model and leader along side a productive rookie in front of him.
  15. I like Yeldon, and I think the staff does too. They have been quite complimentary to him and what he did when given chances last year. I think he could be a good compliment to Yeldon in the same way any of those other FA's you listed would be as I expect Devin to still get the lion shares of the carries. Im not sure any of those guys listed have much more to offer than Yeldon does who already knows our offense. So I think pepper in some fresh legs in the draft (some good ones will be there in rounds 2-5 this year IMO) and let Devin take the lead role fully with Yeldon backing him up until the rookie proves he can take over the backup duties full time (pass pro will be the key factor on that). That being said, I wouldn't hate a signing of any of those guys above either. Just like the idea of getting some fresh legs next to Devin as well to form a formidable one-two punch for years to come. And I think this is a good draft to do it as we dont have a lot of holes and the RB depth is nice this year in the mid rounds.
  16. I agree and honestly I think if this really happened, the first 10 picks would probably all be (and should be) QBs and Darnold and Mayfield are the two QBs I would project to replace Bosa and AD to go in too 10. And yeah, totally agree on how GMs would be split on Allen and Dak.
  17. I disagree, respectfully. Wentz is very high risk player and living off of one partial season. Dak, well I think I’m less a believer in Dak as most, and I think he’s peaked. Personally, I think Allen is clearly gonna be one who splits opinions, but only one GM inside the top 10 needs to believe in him, and I think there are quite a few who see him as a rising star. If Bills picked in top 10 Beane would take him over Wentz and Dak IMHO as would I.
  18. I can not see any scenario where a RB would go top 10, especially since top end RBs will easily be there in rounds 2 through 5 without question as teams focus on QB and the trenches first. 'I have Josh Allen going top 10 without question IMO. Not every GM needs to believe in him, just one on the board in the top 10 does and right now I would bet good money that the majority of the league sees Allen as a rising star who is a fiery and competitive leader, more than say a limited QB who is a passing liability. My top 10 predictions would be: Patrick Mahomes - Duh Russell Wilson - I think he edges out Watson given he likely still has 5 to 7 top end years left and he is the better player right now Deshaun Watson - I think he edges Lamar out given he's more of a QB and more coaches know how to build an offense for him rather than Lamar Lamar Jackson - He may not go this high, would depend on the team picking given he needs an offense specifically built for him, but given his MVP season I am still putting him here Nick Bosa - Best young defensive player in the NFL. He goes before Donald IMO as I think Bosa makes a bigger impact on win total than Donald does. A total mistake IMO to not take a QB, but some GM is going to be enamored with Bosa and the impact he made as a rookie and take a guy on his way to being a top 5 overall player in the NFL. Josh Allen - Has one of the highest and brightest ceilings, if not the top ceiling, of just about any young QB not named Mahomes. Youth and his significant improvements over his first 2 seasons and still being a dual threat makes him go early. Kyler Murray - Lived up to the hype and has a lot of upside, I think GM's here go for the upside over a more proven veteran. Dak Prescott - I am not the biggest Dak guy, but I think looking at whats on the boards and his personal stats, GM's will look his way over other veterans as he is younger than most of them. Carson Wentz - Not a big believer in him due to health issues, but teams are going to look for a QB early early early with all the runs on them and he has the talent, even though the body is not to be trusted. A team rolls the dice here that they can keep him healthier and this team I would look to invest early and heavy on OL after drafting Wentz. Aaron Donald - Best DT in the NFL goes with less appealing QB options still on the board. IMO anyone not taking a QB in the top 10 is headed in a bad direction as the pickings by round 2 are going to be very slim, especially if this is a snake draft. But some GM is going to want the elite player in Donald rather than say someone from the Tier 2 pool (or even what some wold rank as tier 3) of QB's. NOTE: I did the list above based on how I think a top 10 would go with 10 GM's drafting. If I was going to do this draft personally, I would draft Josh Allen at #4, and if not there certainly at #5. I am sure I will get a lot of "homer biased" comments for that, but I truly believe Josh Allen has a brighter career future than Lamar. I really like Lamar, but honestly, I have seen gimmick systems like Baltimore ran last year work very well early but lack sustainability once the rest of the league catches on with defending it. And I truly believe the combo of the Niners and Bills games last year in back to back weeks gave the NFL the blueprint to slow down that offense. And I am not sold that Lamar can be consistent enough in the pocket once teams neutralize the run all the time offense.
  19. There are like 100 better choices than McCoy. Why would we bring him back? He's a shell of himself now and also is jaded a bit about being released. Agree, its worked thus far and really helped build a players culture. That being said, its time to add a playmaker opposite Devin rather than a vet. McCoy is DEFINITELY not the answer of course. Draft someone to compliment him and let Yeldon backup Devin until our rookie is ready to step up as Devins primary backup and compliment.
  20. They will not take a QB. Doesnt matter who is there, there is 0% chance they take a QB. They also will not draft a kicker of any kind. Everything else is fair game, although I do still think its less likely it would be a WR as Beane has repeatedly boasted about the depth of this class and how guys taken in rounds 4 and 5 will be prospects that push starters for their spots in this draft. So I find it hard to see Beane using our first and 3 other picks on a WR then using our 2nd as well. Although I won't be surprised to see Beane take a WR in the draft, just don't think its likely unless someone they absolutely covet and love falls there and is BPA by a wide margin on his board. I think the most likely position drafted there is RB, DE, OL, DB in no particular order.
  21. I’m calling it now: Zay Jones still sucks and I was right ?
  22. Its only rare because there is only one spot on the field this can occur. It’s not rare because it’s a difficult play to make, in fact this “play” happens many times a game on other parts of the field where you don’t get the score as its literally just a sack or tackle for loss like anywhere else on the field. 2 points and losing the ball is a sufficient scoring system for said play. Anything else would be excessive and unnecessary IMO
