Josh Allen stats on the deep ball in 2019 on throws over 20+ yards: Throwing to John Brown: Passer rating is 109! Throwing to everyone not named John Brown: Passer rating 21! I keep saying it, his deep ball issues had a LOT to do with personnel. He was pretty darn good throwing it to Brown, especially down the stretch. I said MANY times, while he had issues with it, his deep ball got a LOT better down the stretch, especially as he got more comfortable with Brown. Now add in Diggs, the number 1 rated deep ball catcher in the NFL...the number 1 contested ball catcher in the NFL...and people here don't think Allens deep ball and accuracy are not going to improve? Not to mention expected growth from our TE's and easier assignments for Brown and Cole with Diggs drawing more attention away from them. Hahahaha, that is just comical to me. And I cant wait to collect my $100 gentleman's bet from @TwistofFate thats been confirmed in this thread an in DM's as well.

Huh? Allen has 2 years of NFL tape...why are we talking college comparisons with Allen and Tua? Allen is a rapidly ascending 2 year veteran who amassed 30 TD's, a double digit win season, and a playoff birth in his 2nd year in the league. Do any of you even realize that Allen was SIXTH in the entire NFL in touchdowns? And in just his 2nd season, while only starting and finishing 14 games last year, with 9 new starters, and utter scrubs opposite Brown at WR, with a team that led the league in dropped passes. Not to mention, leads the NFL since entering the league in 4th quarter comeback wins (despite missing all or parts of 6 games over that span) where he was one of the highest rated passers in the whole NFL in the 4th quarter as well. So...who cares about Wyoming? Not even relevant in a comparison.

The only reasonable debate is Allen vs Darnold. I would take and prefer Allen (even did so on Draft night as I had Allen narrowly number 2 over Darnold and behind Baker). I think Allen has that clutch gene, that leadership gene, and that extra edge to go with all his talents. But Darnold has a ton of upside too and showed real promise himself. So I think its a valid case to be made for one or the other narrowly edging out a higher ranking. But, Tua is a joke...as in all rookies are a joke to rank over a QB who just amasses 30 TD's in his 2nd season and led his team to a double digit win season and a playoff birth, and with 9 new starters on his offense to work with and scrubs playing opposite Brown all season to throw to. Tua could be great...could be a bust...could be mediocre. He has earned noting at this point other than its not unreasonable to rank him above almost equally unproven Stidham based on potential alone. But to rank him over a rapidly ascending 2 year vertaran QB coming off 30 TDs and a playoff birth is utterly irresponsible.

Do I love Levy. Yes, very much so. BUT...if I remove my homer glasses, he is over rated. He squandered a roster FULL of HOF players and couldn't win the big game. The end game play calling alone against the Giants is a black mark as much as the missed FG is. He was out coached in all 4 Super Bowls...just flat out was. He was up against 3 of the greatest HC's of all time, and also one DC that would become the GOAT ever at HC and DC. So no shame in that, not like he was out coached by some weak HC that had the luxury of a great roster. But, none the less, he wasn't able to close the deal even against a mediocre backup QB despite having the superior roster. I have an unpopular opinion. Its going to get crapped on left and right the moment I say it. BUT...5 years from now, I am supremely confident I will be proven right. That is: Sean McDermott will end his tenure in Buffalo some time way down the road being known as the best HC is Buffalo history. Is he there now, no he doesn't have the resume just yet. But I strongly feel we are going to win a Super Bowl in the next 5 years, and once we do, he will catapult his way to the top. I think McD is on his way as being one of the best HC's of this next generation. From how he built the culture, how he commands respect, how he commands discipline, how he helps players be their best selves, but all the while still being a players coach. Thats a rare trait in a coach. Most players coaches resemble the Rex Ryan's and dont have discipline, balance, culture, etc. Being fully transparent, McD today reminds me of a young Bill Belichick. The guy with a great defensive mind, but also knows he needs the offense to go with it and has been very vocal about building a team to score more points. But most importantly, the guy who knows how to get the most out of players, how to build a team first culture above all else. To find the right fits for his culture and system. I know he has to prove a lot more before earning a true comparison to BB, but he really reminds me of that young BB. I don't know he will reach the same accolades BB and the Pats did as a dynasty, I mean it would be unfair for anyone to have expectations that McD (or any current coach) will leave the NFL as the GOAT. BUT...I do believe he will leave the Bills at some point far down the road as our best HC in team history with a resume to confirm that.

Yeah I dont get it. Not to mention, the compensation we paid was the same to move from 21 to 18...where we would have NOT landed one of the top 3, yet still unproven, rookies who all went in top 17. So for anyone whining about compensation cost instead of drafting, doesn't understand draft pick value in the first place and probably shouldn't have a convo with them anyway. Diggs was a great move, he's a great player, with a great contract, is young, and will immediately help Josh and is a top 5 WR in the NFL. Rookies...are rookies and they are all a gamble. Thats like going to the Kentucky Derby and betting heavy on a favorite. They dont always win, and its still a gamble, and when you lose it hurts. Can not wait to see Diggs on the field in B-lo.

Dude you need help remembering. I never said he WAS the guy. That’s a flat out lie. I said he wasn’t as bad as people exaggerated him to be, which he wasn’t, and that fix our defense and we are a playoff team...which McD did and we were. And then I said after the playoff year TT had to be replaced next and entering the draft I had Baker (and i had Baker as the top QB long before anyone else did when people said he wasn’t even a second round pick) and Allen as one and two and told everyone Rosen sucks and Lamar was the real deal and even started a thread about making a case to stay put at 12 and take Lamar versus trading up into the top 5. Sorry I will put my QB resume up against anyone’s. It’s not perfect, i hated the idea of drafting Mahomes at 10, and would have taken Watson over him if we stayed put, but I was all for Mahomes in second. I sure as hell will put my QB resume up against yours anytime. And with just about any other analysis as well. You love to take something someone said, twist it to mean something else, just so you can then attack it even though it’s not even what they said. I mean it’s kind of your MO around here.

I think that is Buffalo Bills syndrome for one. Playoffs? Who cares...thats like getting a participation trophy. Its about winning in the playoffs and winning a Super Bowl. Did you even watch Cousins in the playoffs for the Redskins. He was not good and only got them there once. Cousins has one career playoff win, and it was this year. He is 6-13 in prime time games in his career to boot. I respect the hell out of him for getting as much money as he did, but he has not yet once proven he is worth the investment. Redskins didn't get anywhere with him, Vikings in 2 seasons with a very talented roster have not gone as far as Keenum took them the year before Cousins. So why is he worth $150M over 5 years? Hasn't won in the spotlight or much in the postseason and hasn't elevated the Minnesota team yet after 2 years any higher than where Keenum had them. Why should Washington have built around this guy for the next 5 years and paid him $150M over that span? Had they done that they would still be a 6 to 9 win team at best right now with little to no Super Bowl chances.

Im not saying Dalton is better than Dak...I am saying I dont think the Cowboys are much worse off with Dalton than they are with Dak. I dont think the gap is massive in other words. And again, I was saying bring in Cam to start and they got great insurance for injury still with Dalton. Exactly. And Allen isnt asking for $35M a year today. Nor would I be for giving it to him either. Is Allen asking for $35M a year and I missed it?

Its like you just skim and reply without actually reading when you say things like this. I mean I literally have said Kirk is better than Keenum... But what I was actually pointing out is that Kirk has not done more than a journeyman did with the same roster, in fact he has done less as a team with similar personal stats as a guy who is NOT good in Keenum. This boards obsession of AUTOMATICALLY assuming any time 2 QB's are mentioned its an automatic talent for talent comparison and you jump right to that. What I ACTUALLY said in every post is that DESPITE Kirk being the better QB, he can NOT create better RESULTS on the field than WORSE QB's did before him. 2017 Vikings with KEENUM went 13-3 and made the NFCC game. 2018 Vikins and 2019 Vikings with KIRK have seen SIMILAR QB stats with LESS winning and NOT going as far as the crap journeyman QB took them. BOTTOM LINE: As a GM, I am NEVER overpaying a QB if I do NOT believe he can get us to the Super Bowl and win it. What has Kirk ever done to warrant that belief? He was awful in big games and post season in Washington, like embarrassingly bad at times. They saw him up close and did not see a guy worth investing and building around long term. And what has Kirk done sing getting to Minnesota to prove that wrong? Since getting to Minnesota, he has not elevated that team any higher than they were before he got there either despite having a better roster there than he had in Washington. And he is playing at about the same level statistically as a bad QB did while winning less.

Let me see here Gunner...you responded with a SINGLE years roster to refute what I said about his overall career in Cincy? Come on man. How does that make sense. And sorry, the current Dallas roster is still better overall. Cowboys are stacked at WR, 2nd best RB in the NFL, solid at TE, and still one of the best, if not the best OL in football with a very talented defense. And you are exaggerating some of those guys. Jones had 800 yards and wouldn't break 1000 yards until 2 years later in 2017 in his 2nd year with Lions (the only time he's ever had 1000 yards in a season) and is over rated. Sanu? Come on dude, he had less than 400 yards receiving and might be the most over rated player I have seen. He is a 3rd option at best at WR. Never reached 900 yards in a season, only broke 700 yards 3 times. Lets not over exaggerate here. Boyd is better than than Marvin. This WR group you just listed isnt even the best WR group Dalton got to play with. And I already said, the only thing he had over his career was consistently good WR group. I would take this years Dallas roster every single time over that 2015 Bengals roster, and its honestly not even a tough choice.

They were better with Case Keenum the year before Kirk Cousins. So you are wrong, they are not pining for those days...they just wish Kirk could do as good a job as crap QB Keenum. Where did I compare the QB talent wise? I said the decision was the same. Neither guy was getting them to the promise land. So you dont over pay the guy you KNOW is not the man. And Kirk has PROVEN that he is NOT anything special by doing the same Keenum did with less results and more talent around him. He has not in anyway shape or form made Minny better than they were the year before him. Do I think Kirk is better QB than Keenum, sure, but the results and performance are not there to support that belief.

Outstanding is extreme...I cant think of a single year where his roster was as good as Dallas roster. And the majority of the years, it wasn't a great roster...mid tier roster at best most years of his career. He has frequently had a poor offensive line. He had an elite WR, but one show struggled with injuries. Had talented TE's that were never healthy much on the field. The only thing Andy consistently had was receiving weapons. They always had a good to great group of WR's. But the overall roster was not outstanding most of his career and not one year was that roster as good as Dallas roster is right now on paper. Of course you went straight to that...I did NOT compare them as players, but shocker thats how you took it lol. I compared the situation of how obvious it was that TT was not going to take us further than we had already been...just like Kirk was NOT taking the Redskins further than he had been. They kept getting destroyed in the playoffs and big games against good teams. I see you conveniently ignored the stats that showed Keenum and Kirk have been the same QB damn near in Minny, except Kirk has won less and not gone as far in the postseason and Keenum did. But please tell me more how good Kirk is. How he is the one that got away. How he is somehow the savior the Redskins missed on. I mean, he hasn't done much more with a substantially more talented roster in Minny than he did in Washington. And his stats actually went down in Minny than they were in Washington.

Should the Bills have retained Tyrod and paid him as a franchise starter after he made 2 pro bowls as an alternate in 3 years here and was coming off the first playoff season in 17 years? EDIT: I am NOT...repeat NOT...comparing TT and Kirk. I compared the DECISION to either stay the course with someone each team KNEW was not the answer. So you can all stop incorrectly responding as if I compared to the two QB's. I said the decision was the same...both teams KNEW neither guy was the future and BOTH teams were correct. Difference, Bills had the right front office and coaching staff leading that rebuild, and Redskins are just the Redskins. OF COURSE NOT. But why? Because everyone and their mother new that would equal a mediocre team at best the next 4-5 years and if we truly wanted to start competing we needed to find a better leader at QB to build around. Does that mean the Redskins have done a GOOD job in rebuilding? Nope, BUT thats a totally different conversation. You can make a correct decision than follow it up with other poor decisions. Moving on and rebuilding was the right approach, they were going no where fast. Now, the Redskins have to make sure the put the right guys in charge to execute that rebuild, but thats INDEPENDENT on whether or not the correct decision was to over pay a mid tier QB.

Im not advocating Cam today is better than Dak today...I am advocating, regardless who one lists as better, the difference is negligible. Cam in 2015 all day over anything Dak has done of course. And with Dalton already there who came in willing to accept a backup role, you got great insurance against the health risks of Cam. Because if I am being honest, I do not think the Cowboys are much worse with Dalton over Dak as it is. Dalton never had a roster this talented to work with and I think he could be quite good for them too. So if Cam's body betrayed him, you still have a long time quality starter in Dalton that can come in and likely play well himself. I highly, but respectfully, disagree about neither being capable of being good starters still.

Really? How can anyone say its a stupid decision? With all that money Minny spent on Kirk, how are they better off than what a journeyman did with essentially the same roster? Keenum didn't even have the benefit of an explosive 1000 yard rusher like Dalvin as he was knocked out for the season in his first game while Dalvin was a major weapon for Kirk. Case Keenum 2017: 98.3 Rating - 3,547 yards, 67.6%, 22 TD, 7 INT - Minny Record: 13-3, 1-1 postseason record and reached NFCC game. Kirk Cousins 2019: 107.4 Rating - 3603 yards, 69.1%, 26 TD, 6 INT - Minny Record: 10-6, 1-1 postseason record, lost in 2nd round, did not reach NFCC. Kirk has barely done more than the mediocre QB's before him in Minnesota did despite better overall weapons. Now look at Redskins: They were were no where near close to truly contending for a SB. So they had to either: A) Invest top money in a mid tier QB that would keep their ceiling lower for years to come...or... B) Not pay him and rebuild the roster and try to build a perennial powerhouse, something Kirk was never going to get them too. If anything, Kirk cousins has proven the Redskins right in not paying him some huge some of money. His stats are almost the same as Keenums were and yet Keenum won more games and went further in the postseason. And Keenum isnt very good. I side with Redskins on this one...good move not to over pay a guy who was not the guy who was going to get you over the top. I only care about Super Bowls...and nothing about Kirks resume screams he is the guy to get you to a SB. Is he a good QB, sure, but he's in that borderline 2nd to 3rd tier of guys, middle of the pack. Thats not who I hand out mega money too. DISCLAIMER: I HIGHLY respect Kirk and his business savvy. Few players have managed their financial career to be able to maximize it to the highest degree the way he has. Sure, guys get paid you deserve it, but he has managed to extract substantially more money above his level of play better than anyone I can really think of. So big kudos to him, and mad respect for how he did it. Still not worth the money IMO, but I love that he got paid the way he did.

They could sign Cam Newton with Dalton as the backup. Or let them battle it out for the starting gig. Would the Cowboys really be any worse off with a combo of Cam and Dalton at QB than with Dak and Dalton? I don't think so personally, and honestly, given the way this team has underachieved in Daks best seasons, there is a case to be made they could be better. I mean Cam is a former MVP and taken a less talented team in the NFC to the SB.

Dak is NOT worth it. Period. Sorry only a few QB's are worth this kind of money, and those are the QB's that can CARRY your franchise to success despite the roster. Dak has NOT carried them to success with a loaded roster that includes one of the best OL in football protecting him, top 2 RB in the NFL, a $100M WR, and plenty of weapons to spread the ball around to go along with a pretty good defense. You want to argue in the modern NFL that QB's just get paid and that is just what you have to do, then fine, I wont argue with that. But Dallas has underachieved, and not even made playoffs in Dak's best years with this talented roster. And when I look at paying a QB this amount, I need to see the success on the field in the W/L column, especially with this roster. Guys like Wilson, Mahomes, Brady, Brees, Rodgers...list stops there...at who has played at a level that earns this kind of a payday for me. If I am Dallas, I look at my options...after already over paying an over rated WR in Cooper, over paying for a RB (not based on talent, Zekes talent matches the contract, just saying in todays NFL you don't need to invest so much at the RB position and so far no team doing so has won a SB either)...to go out and over pay a QB who has consistently underachieved with a talented roster by making him the highest paid in history. OR... DONT pay Dak and sign Cam Newton, former NFL MVP who took a less talented overall team to the SB and a near win in Carolina than what Dallas can field around him right now. And Cam would cost WAY less and could probably be an even friendlier team deal. Cam would take a discount to go start for the Cowboys, they would be a strong SB contender immediately still like they are now. Who is better...Dak or Cam...well health wise, Dak is more stable. But outside of that...you can make a case for either guy as the better QB...why, because its probably negligible in terms of ranking them. Neither could be argued to be head and shoulders above the other. Yet you could get Cam for a LOT less financial risk. Dak obviously has health and youth on his side, but Cam is only 32 and could still feasibly play at a high level for several more seasons and keep the Cowboys a perennial SB contender as well. TO BE CLEAR: I am not ADVOCATING the Cowboys ditch Dak and sign Cam. I am just pointing out while your point about building around a new QB now would be too risky given the level of talent on the roster is a good one...there is also a rare opportunity where a "new" QB is available that just happens to be a former MVP and SB participant who is available, healthy and only 32 that could come in and do a similar, or possibly better job than Dak has done with this team for a lot less financial risk. I fully expect Dak to stay in Dallas and not sign Cam...but at the end of the day, if Cowboys invest this much in Dak, they have massive contracts invested in: Overpaid QB who is delivering the success his contracts indicates he has. Overpaid WR who is not only over paid, but over rated as he puts up a few big games a year to pad season total stats and then disappears like 70% of the other games and in big moments...not to mention, has a history of the doppsies. Overpaid RB...not in terms of talent, Zeke is a beast...in terms of money allocation to this one position. I can't think of a single team that has had a RB that was top 3 paid in the league that has won a SB in the last 10 years. Its just not a position that you NEED to invest this amount in. I get it, Zeke is special, but its a lot when you also have these other Dak and Cooper contracts. This is why I am not high on the Cowboys potential as a "dynasty" in that other thread. I think the combo of the Zeke, Cooper and eventual Dak contracts will become an issue in the not too distant future personally. Especially if they are not regularly reaching at least the NFCC game.

I had a feeling this would happen...I mean the shutting down was due to the epidemic and companies file bankruptcy all the time to protect assets, not necessarily because they are insolvent.

I still not sold on them potentially becoming a dynasty as I still think the Zeke and Cooper deals were mistakes and Dak situation is going to get messy. But still enjoyed the opposing dialogue. I respectfully disagree...I could care less about dysfunction. Sure, sometimes its a great story line to follow...but its not why I watch. Antonio Brown was great to follow on there because the story was just nuts and HK gave us an inside look beyond just headlines and tweets. But overall, I didnt love the Raiders on HK because of Brown, I loved watching Gruden and his staff, the young guys trying to make the roster, etc. Im just different...I bleed football, so I love the football in Hard Knocks and the guys fighting for spots. Dysfunction is meh.

All good...I don't believe in Dallas front office managing a thin cap and restocking the cupboards. They have yet to figure out how to win with the team for the last 3 years with a lot of these guys in place. We are talking about a Dynasty with a team that couldn't make the playoffs with this roster and the roster being mostly healthy last year in a bad division. So...paper rich isnt the same thing as trophy case rich. The team can look however great on paper, they aren't translating into enough wins and now are leveraged to the top with this roster. They need to make this roster win...then they are going to also have to manage a maxed cap with WAY too much money invested in Cooper and Zeke. Not to mention, can Dak be a SB winning QB or not...he hasn't been able to get them very far while having his best seasons of his career. Now they are going to pay him too. End of day...Could be same as Rams...over paid QB, over paid RB, and over paid WR. Rams had to ditch Cooks and Gurley just to try and get back on track. Goff hasn't proven he can be a winner yet either yet he's paid like a HOF player. When Dallas shows it on the field and the front office shows it can make sound contractual decisions...I will start changing my mind. But ignoring Dak to over pay Cooper and Zeke...those don't seem like sound decisions to me. Not a chance Beane would leave Allen hanging to over pay Devin and Diggs. Again all good boys...just difference of opinion on these guys. Like I said, I feel they can be a contender...they are just 3 years too late to live up to that "gonna be a contender" status because for the last 3 years they were expected to win the division and be a SB threat. Hasn't worked out.

I guess we just get different things out of Hard Knocks...I dont care much for the dysfunctional, and maybe I didn't pay enough attention to it...but I dont really think its focused much on dysfunctional. Sure, there been a few things...but I don't feel like they are focusing on dysfunctional more so than they are focusing on interesting story lines, which sometimes turn dysfunctional. Bills are a good story line IMO...and would be good for the climate we are in right now. Good positive vibe, scrappy young team on the rise. But hey, just my 2 cents.

I trust Beane a heck of a lot more to retain our players, under the right contracts, and still find value across the roster in affordable signings and drafting well once we have to start paying our young guys their first big contracts. I do not have that same confidence with the Cowboys. Thats just the flat out difference for me. They have neglected Dak to over pay Cooper and over pay for a RB (Zeke's talent worth top dollar, but RB position isnt worth that hefty of an investment). And Zeke didn't exactly deliver a season worthy of that contract last year, although the talent is there regardless, he is a beast. They haven't handled Dak well since he got there between all the Romo stuff Jerry was saying while Dak was playing to how they have handled his contract. I don't have a lot of confidence in how they run the team there. Cooper isnt worth $20M per year, and while Zeke talent wise is there, has even one team won a SB with a RB who is in the top 3 highest paid in the modern era? Its just not needed, and thats a lot of bloated money into the RB spot and to a WR who isnt consistent enough to warrant that money. For me, I heard this all before here in LA as everything you are saying about the Cowboys is the same thing that was said about the Rams 3 years ago. Now they are having to churn their roster to make it work and they are no longer the favorites, not even in the top 5 in the NFC. In no particular order: Niners, Seahawks, Cowboys, Packers, and Saints are all expected to be better. Like I said...all good...I just don't believe they are a potential dynasty...heck, we don't even know if this team is capable of winning anything because they are mostly in tact and haven't been winning much of anything despite being in a weak division.
