  1. Beane's Cliff Notes: We could trade up, we could trade down, or stay put at 30 where any position outside of QB, K, or Punter are on the table with the 30th pick as long as they are the BPA on his board. So in other words...DUH everything is on the table 🤣 All kidding aside, my thoughts: The only RB I think he would take at 30 is Etienne. There are guys he think could slide into the 20's he might be willing to go get for the right price. And, he sees the 5th year option that comes with the 30th pick as increasing the value for a team to trade up and anticipates offers to be on the table when they approach their pick, assuming we haven't ourselves already traded up. Call me crazy, but I still think a trade back with the Eagles at 37 still makes a lot of sense where the trade package includes Ertz if Beane doesn't covet someone when on the clock at 30.
  2. Well this makes me happy actually because Rams are my second team...a very distant second team compared to my love of the Bills, but definitely my second team. I would have much preferred to see Bojo stay here after the season he had last year though. Then again, prior to last season, he had been wildly inconsistent, so who knows if he will be as good this year or not. But his last season here was pretty great.
  3. With the 86th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select: Tay Gowan, CB - UCF Having landed our QB of the future, given him some protection and a new weapon, we stuck true to our board again here and taking what we see as a CB with great potential. With only one year of college football under his belt after sitting out the pandemic, his one year was quite impressive and we feel he will only continue to grow. And we realize we need all the help we can get in our secondary with studs like Allen and Diggs in our division. So we are quite excited to see Gowan still on the board and gave consideration taking him with our previous pick too. @Dont Stop Billeiving and the Steelers are now on the clock!
  4. Valid point as well. But my personal philosophy is take the best player when you are on the clock as you are not sure who will be there when you are next up. So for me, needing to protect the young QB is top priority and I would take the guy I am the most confident in as a prospect. That may very well be a CB for them at that pick, just for my humble opinion AVT is my guy. Yup, and thats why he is one of the best GMs in football
  5. I don't disagree with you, but I also think AVT is that much better than anyone they will get in round 2, so its more to do with how high I am on him than anything.
  6. His market is low now, it’s not going to be any higher next year at 32 after playing out his deal as the #2 TE on a bad team with a developing QB. He wants to win, this is a good deal for him. And I do have some inside info that is exactly what his top priority is, playing for a contender.
  7. I am personally quite high on Vera-Tucker and his versatility. Nothing is more important in developing a you g QB than protecting him. And you can’t fill every hole in one draft, so as a GM you should prioritize the development of that QB. They are going to likely have a top 15 pick again next year, you can always draft a CB then if you didn’t find one this draft. So I think the Jets must invest in making sure they give Wilson the best chance to succeed. And for me, I think Tucker is too good to pass up at 23, if he’s still on the board even. Especially with his versatility. That being said, I definitely fully agree that CB is probably the only other position they look at with the 23rd pick, or at least should be the only other position. So won’t surprise me to see them go your route and go DB there and look at OL after. But, AVT is who I would target based on how the board is expected to fall right now if I was the Jets.
  8. I think a team friendly 2 year deal is worth it personally.
  9. I understand where you are coming from, but the market has proven really low for Ertz. Right now, a reworked multi year deal with a great organization contending for division titles and Super Bowls with a MVP candidate at QB is going to look like a real nice place to be for him. So I think he is going to be very interested to do that.
  10. Well as I said in my post, he would come with a reworked deal, meaning not a one year rental. I can see is taking back a day 3 pick, and I certainly would expect Beane to try and get that as well. However, I’d be comfortable still without it. We are in a SB push this year, I think the reward here outweighs the risk of a simple 7 spot trade back.
  11. Im secretly praying Alijah Vera-Tucker falls to us at 30 personally. But I honestly don’t think he makes it past the Jets at 23 as they look to build up the line to protect Wilson snd avoid the mistakes they made not protecting Darnold. I think he is going to be a beast at the next level and his versatility will be something McBeane will love. If he is there at 30, I bet they run the pick in. Since I don’t expect him to be there, I’m hoping one of the big 4 at CB slide there, although I unfortunately also think they all more than likely come off the board ahead of our pick too.
  12. I don’t know what’s worse: The OP actual post Or all the people here who fed this troll 9 pages of dinner
  13. I am not enamored with the players projected to be on the board at 30 personally. But then again, the board never falls close to as projected, so there still could be a great fit for us at 30. But assuming there isn’t an obvious pick there, I would say try and trade down with Phi to pick up Ertz. Bills get: Zack Ertz and the 37th pick in the draft. Eagles get: 30th pick in the draft. We move back 7 spots and land Ertz and rework his deal. That’s more appealing to me than taking another 3T DT at 30. Personally I also doubt that happens, and I think we will take BPA per usual and I expect that to likely be a CB or someone on the OL.
  14. I don’t disagree with you, but this draft did not fall very realistic either before my picks. The defense is in way better shape than the offense, especially the mess of an OL IMO. They just flushed a ton of assets down the toilet they used to draft Darnold because they didn’t support him. My target at 23 definitely included DB, but at 23 the DBs I had graded higher were taken in this draft. I’m certain the 23rd pick will be either OL or DB depending how the real draft falls. And there were a ton of DBs taken by the time the 3rd round pick came around, so went for the OL again as I didn’t see one worth taking there. And they need the help on the line. And you took the DB I was gonna take in the third the pick before me too
  15. With the 66th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select: Jackson Carman, OT/G Clemson. Doubling down on doing the opposite of what we did with Darnold, we are adding here second new prospect along our OL to help protect our new QB. Carman brings versatility as well to our OL as we see him projecting into a potential starting guard at the next level after a successful college career at LT. We see a lot of potential for him sliding inside to guard, but with the versatility to backup our starting LT Becton if needed. @RyanC883 and the Houston Texans are now on the clock.
  16. Call me crazy, but I have a hunch 10 years from now Wilson is going to be the best QB from this class. Not saying Trevor will bust or anything, but there’s something about Wilson that just makes me think he has some of those intangibles you can’t teach...things that make guys like Allen and Mahomes special. As a GM, I think there’s too much pressure to take Trevor, and it’s still a great pick. But honestly, if I was the Jags GM I would seriously be tempted to take Wilson. Sucks that the Jets are gonna land Wilson.
  17. With the 34th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select: Travis Etienne, RB Clemson We here in the Jets front office would like to extend a huge thank you to Le'Veon Bell, whose greatest value to our organization was teaching us its utterly stupid to over pay for a RB in the FA market, especially a slow one with a bad attitude. Not to mention, after ignoring the OL for years. With that lesson in hand, we landed our main target on the line with our second first round pick, and now we are excited to add this exciting prospect to our roster and give our new QB Wilson a real weapon and support to work with. His two way ability as a runner and receiver is everything Bell wishes he still was, but with way more speed and less attitude and more work ethic. In the war room we are popping bottles after landing all 3 of our top targets at all of our first 3 draft selections. Secretly, we are still nervous here as we are still the Jets and know we are just as capable of messing this up still, so fingers crossed. @GunnerBill and the Atlanta Falcons are now on the clock!
  18. One reason would be a lot of times when a team is "set" on their roster, they are also up against the cap if the roster is that good. Every year you will have FA's on your team you may not be able to always keep because of that, so being sure to bring in young cheaper talent can be essential to keep the roster consistently strong. Its what teams like the Steelers and Ravens have always been very good about doing and why they are consistently contenders for long periods of time. That being said, moving up is also definitely an option in these cases too, just saying having more draft assets still also has value to teams in those positions.
  19. Reasonable reply yourself, but my only thing I would strongly disagree is the idea that Devin could be "cut". Nothing is impossible, but given Beanes ability to get draft assets for players who really are fringe roster players at best, there is just no way he doesn't trade Devin at that point and get some value back. Not saying you are suggesting he could be cut, your response was a little vague in that retrospect. But I have seen others say it before, and your reply kind of left room for that possibility. I dont think its impossible Devin could be traded though, but again, its only if we either A) Draft someone in first 2 rounds (highly doubt it though) or B) AW or Wade comes out and impresses enough to earn a full time roster spot. If either of those 2 scenarios do not happen, then Devin becomes a virtual lock for the roster. However, if either of them happen, he is 100% going to be on the hot seat and need to turn some heads and fight for his spot here.
  20. The only way I think Devin would be a trade candidate is if either one of Antonio Williams or Christian Wade stand out and make a big case for the active roster. Breida has had injury issues and Moss is coming off one himself. Meanwhile Devin has done well and stayed on the field mostly. I personally don’t get the amount of heat Devin takes around here. His career YPC is very good, and he is elusive. Our run scheme is a much bigger issue than our RBs are in terms of rush yardage production. We are a pass first team and constantly running out of unconventional formations and our OL was terrible at run blocking out of these schemes last year. Im not saying Devin is like a top tier RB, but the kid has been effective and I’ve watched him pick up first downs and big chunk plays where most RBs would have lost yardage. He may not have elite speed, but he is very elusive and that impacts positive gains a lot more than straight line speed which is HIGHLY dependent on run blocking. I honestly feel like the Devin heat got turned up around here substantially because of the big screen drop he had in the playoffs. But a lot of players made a lot more mistakes than him that game that led to our demise. If he catches that screen it doesn’t change the outcome even if he scores. We literally could not remotely cover Hill and Kelce, and we were utterly dominated in the trenches...there was just no way we were going to win that way regardless of that play. So for me...I can see Devin potentially being expendable if they feel that AW or Wade has earned themselves a spot and want one on the active roster. Otherwise, we are gonna roll with the trio of Devin, Moss, and Breida this year IMHO.
  21. Yeah, he was pretty darn good at LT, so his versatility is something teams will covet. I’ve watched a lot of USC living here in So Cal, and he’s been a guy I’ve had my eye on for us this draft. And we already know our staff loves versatility on the OL, so if he somehow manages to slide to us, I think it’s a no brainer pick for us. If he makes it past the Jets, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Beane start exploring a small trade up as he gets closer to our pick, similar to Ford. I think he’s that good of a fit here and will be high on Beanes board as our pick approaches. But like you, I believe he doesn’t last. I honestly think he is going to be the Jets pick if he makes it to them, and I think there is a good chance he does. I haven’t seen your mock yet, but I’ll go check it out soon today. Always enjoy them and your thoughts.
  22. Thanks. I love him, I’ve been hoping he will fall to the Bills at 30, but I don’t see him making it past the Jets. Although, most thought Cody Ford wouldn’t slide out of the first and he slid to us in the 2nd. I know DL, CB, or RB is a hot choice for the Bills in the first, but if he somehow manages to fall to us at 30, I think Beane runs to the podium to take him. Im not enamored with too many guys on the DL at 30, and I think the DBs worth taking there are also likely gone before we pick. And I seriously doubt Bills go RB at 30 after signing Breida and still having both Devin and Moss along with some interesting potential still in AW and Wade. Jets could go CB or RB there too, but I think they will look to address the OL first to not repeat the same mistakes they made with Darnold.
  23. Haha my bad, I was reading the proposed Bills trade posts and had Bills pick on my mind haha. My bad. Was too early in the morning apparently before my coffee haha.
