Im just saying, when was the last time Namath was really talked about? When he seemed drunk and told the female reporter on camera he just wants to kiss her. Sorry, thats not a vendetta, thats just what happened. Meanwhile, people in the GOAT conversations will always be talked about. And my response was to someone who said Mahomes wont be talked about in 50 years...and I was saying that if Mahomes continues his path to looking like being one of the GOATS, if not the GOAT, when he is done, they will still be talking about him 50 years from now. Just like they talk about other greats in all sports.

I guarantee they will talk about Mahomes a lot more than anyone talks about Namath. Once the people are gone who watched Namath play, no one will talk about him. Mahomes is on a path to be the greatest of all time, and if he reaches that pinnacle he will be talked about forever. I mean, Namath isn't even remotely talked about even today compared to people who talk about guys like Montana for instance. People talk about greatness, its true in every sport. If Mahomes continues on the path he is on, he will be talked about like Jordan is talked about. Namath doesn't get talked about at all really unless he's saying something creepy to a female reporter or appearing drunk while on camera.

This. And that has been clear for 18 months...but we got a 23 page thread to go with many other long threads none the less. Bills could have made him an offer...they chose his teammate instead, Addison and drafted AJE. There was no chance at all we were signing Clowney, some just refused to accept that. I am so glad this is over, sick of hearing about a guy who was never close to coming here at any point.

Yeah, I am big time in the camp that Bradshaw is one of the most over rated players in the HOF. But he did still get all those SB wins, and that definitely gives him some hall credentials. Bradshaw was nothing more than a game manager on an insanely talented team. But hey, he still made enough plays to get to all those SB's and win them, so I dont have an issue with his HOF presence so much. I only take issue with my Steeler fan friends who try and convince me he was a top 5 QB all time, which is just hysterically false.

I will acknowledge some of you have some compelling counter points, and some of you are old enough to lived his era so he carries more meaning and impact to you. All good, I still don't think he was HOF worthy even though I fully acknowledge his contributions to the story of the NFL. At the end of the day, I am not convinced he makes the HOF if he doesn't make the prediction, even still winning the game. Fun discussion none the less so far

Totally agree on this...ST is such an important part of the game and we even have a SB MVP from special teams...the lack of acknowledgement from the hall in this area is long been an issue. Every coach in history will tell you that you need to be good in all 3 phases of the game...HOF seems to think there is only 2 phases.

Fair enough on that point...still disagree that his play warranted HOF credentials when there are a lot better players still on the outside looking in.

I know that stuff...but that says a lot more about the AFL at that time than Namath. Sorry he wasn't a good QB, he was flashy and loud and got him fame. A prediction and fur coats are his legacy, not his great QB play.

I wasn't saying no prediction and he lost. I am saying, if he still wins the game without the prediction he definitely does NOT make the HOF.

But its not the hall of history. And while it contains the word "fame", and obviously Namath did have fame as part of his legacy, the grounds for enshrinement have always been about enshrining its best, not its most famous. True for all sports. So again, just can't agree that being part of the story of the early years makes one HOF worthy.

I have to disagree that just being part of the NFL's story makes you HOF worthy. And while its called the Hall of Fame, we all know that the basis of the HOF is to enshrine its best. Not its most flamboyant, flashy, or famous. Otherwise guys like Jim McMahon would be in there too. I don't disagree that Namath has a place in the story of the history of the NFL, but so do a lot of people also not in the HOF. I mean, he has a case to be the worst player of any sport enshrined into its HOF. Namath was not a good QB, thats just the facts. And no one would care at all about him had he not made that prediction, just like no one cares about many underdog teams QB's who won the SB. Without the prediction, he's just a flashy but bad QB from NY who hit lightning in a bottle one time...for one game.

Seriously, every time I see him doing a commercial I just look at him and ask why? In his entire career, he only had 2 seasons where he had more TDs than INTs (and barely had more in those 2 seasons). I mean he literally made the HOF over one game prediction and wearing fur coats. It’s a travesty he’s in the HOF while so many other players with substantially better careers are not. I mean he finished his career with 173 TDs to 220 INTs and a dismal 65 QB Rating.

I dont go for the manicured look...having all the dead cuticles removed one your fingers and toes by a professional makes your hands and feet feel so much better. And on the pedicure, having them scrub layers of dead and dry skin off your feet literally makes it feel like your feet are soft and walking on clouds in comparison. Kind of like that feeling when you buy a brand new pair of shoes but also wear a brand new pair of socks with them instead of your old scratch worn out ones. Plus the added bonus of them massaging your feet, calves, hands, and arms each as a added bonus is pretty awesome. Not like I get my nails painted or anything, for like $5 more they just do a shiny buff to them which makes them have a nice shine to them with no polish of any kind. And let me tell you, women love a well manicured man too. I get all kinds of compliments when they see my fingers or toes too. I live beach front, so I am always in flip flops and my feet also take a bit of a beating always walking on sand. So the treatment is just awesome to do and worth the money and experience.

Well considering they are rarely pretty young girls, I would have to beg to differ on that one Generally older asian women, besides they use my strength when massaging your calves, feet, arms and hands.

My top 3 choices in no particular order: Beane, McD or Allen. I have so much respect for the football minds and leadership of Beane and McD, and Allen seems like a really fun and competitive guy and similar to me and my friends. Old school: Jim Kelly or OJ for polar opposite reasons. JK obviously out of admiration of him, his career, perseverance, and leadership. OJ because I think I could coax a confession out of his dumb a**, and even if not, I’d love to troll him.

Sorry, but if you don’t get a mani-pedi you’re really missing out. I’m 6’4 and i go every three weeks. It’s amazing, and honestly I didn’t go until I was 32 and then was pissed I had been missing out on this my whole adult life. It you’re a man whose comfortable with their manhood, there is no reason to not go or be embarrassed about going. That being said, I seriously doubt they would ever bring Dareus back after dumping him for a case of natural light 2 years ago.

I do too, but end of the day, no one wanted to pay even a 7th round pick for him and no one claimed him on waivers even with a relatively reasonable contract in terms of his talent. Again, not saying Beane wont claim him, just saying claiming to trade is a wasteful practice. Jags tried to give him away and cut him when they couldn't where he then went completely unclaimed. Interest is very very low on him. If we sign him, it wont be to try and flip him for a draft pick. Now on the other hand, if we sign him and he plays great and they want to keep him, they certainly could try and flip Devin or Moss for some draft assets and there would be a lot of interest in those guys.

Well considering the Jags tried all off season to trade him and said they couldn't even get a 6th or even a 7th offered for him, I think thats not a likely scenario

Different positions yes, but they are only going to keep so many players whose only real value is ST. So if Andre takes one of those spots, it still lowers the chances for Taiwan. Especially in a COVID year where they need to balance depth across the roster.

I have been saying that I think Yeldon has the lead on Taiwan both because of his familiarity with Dabolls system and the fact Taiwan is not healthy and been plagued by injuries in his career. This trade for me immediately made me think Taiwan just got on even shakier ground given his big edge of Yeldon would be ST contributions. I think Taiwan is in serious jeopardy of not making this team now. I prefer Taiwan myself if he was healthy, but I think his window to earn a roster spot is starting to close unfortunately.
