  1. Yeah but the old QB Rating will over value something like comp %, so a check down QB who has a pitiful game will end up with a good rating for example. Trent Edwards is a prime example of that. The old rating is too simplified, the new rating isn't balanced well enough to be reliable. Neither is efficient, but again, both exist for fans really, no coaching staff focuses on it.
  2. All true, but its still better than the old QB rating though which is even more useless. Reality is there will never be a stat that actually accurately captures the overall performance of a position as complicated as QB in the NFL. its literally impossible with so many variables to take into consideration. Not only do QB's in this era run a lot compared to past generations, but you have so many variables that surround the QB's and their ability to statistically show how well they are or are not playing. QB Rating stats are just simply tools created for fans and media to give a suggestive snapshot of their performance at any given time. More context and data is always needed to truly evaluate a quarterback, and its why coaches never use either of the QB rating systems and instead look at very specific individual data points that matter more.
  3. Honestly, I just don’t see how anyone can not have Allen firmly at the top of the MVP race. I think it really should only be between Rodgers and Allen right now with Taylor 3rd.
  4. Terrible news, absolute legend. RIP John Madden. On the bright side: At least he doesn’t have to play those crap versions of his legendary franchise game EA Sports keeps ruining and putting out lately.
  5. I’m surprised. The guidelines specifically state if you asymptomatic and even then you need to wear a mask for 5 days after. So I thought the mask requirement would stop them from shortening the timeline.
  6. Certainly for this next game if he’s even just 75% ready. Not sure he is better rest of season over Wentz though. Start of the season sure, but I would think Wentz whose played all year would likely be better than Rivers at his age coming in a year after he last stepped on a field. Then again, maybe Rivers would be better, I mean it’s not that hard to be better than Wentz either lol.
  7. He actually mentioned he would consider coming back though, I think it would only be for the Colts
  8. Colts reached out to Rivers today, just got the bleacher report alert
  9. My understanding that it goes to 5 days only if you are asymptomatic. Additionally, you have to wear a face mask for 5 days after the 5 day quarantine period. So I don’t see how this could change anything in the NFL personally, players aren’t going to be playing with face masks on and won’t be allowed to be around other people without one until the 10 days are up still. So IMHO this is likely going to change nothing for the 10 day period rules in the NFL, nor do I even see a way it could given the mask mandate for the 5 days after the 5 day quarantine period.
  10. This is only true if you are asymptomatic though. And it still requires you to wear a face mask for 5 days after until 10 days are complete. So I don’t think this rule is going to help any players come back sooner because they would still not be able to be around other players or people without a face mask. But that’s at least how I understood the new guidelines.
  11. Yup, fiance nailed my Xmas present
  12. Hes never at any point been conservative. He’s literally one of the most aggressive coaches in football.
  13. Without question Dallas. That was super human right there. Even Ryan Tannehill could have made the same 4th down run yesterday that Josh did. But I don’t think there is another QB in the NFL with the combo of the instincts, athleticism, drive, strength, heart, and fight that Josh possessed to make that 4th down like that in Dallas.
  14. I already referenced it as worst post of the year back when it started lmao. This board is full of the most ridiculous and stupid stuff after a loss. Last year we went 13-3 and there were people talking about firing McD and Beane after those losses too lmao.
  15. Hahaha awesome! And I’ll see ya next seasons home opener for sure!
  16. Shes actually a hard core Niner fan (she grew up in the Bay Area) but she does like the Bills and Allen too and supports my obsession with the Bills haha. She loved Buffalo so much she wants to make it an annual family trip to Buffalo for the home opener every year! I got her Niner vs Rams tickets here in LA as part of her Xmas gifts for January 9th Nah she knows I’m always right too haha
  17. Adding to the lore of my fiancé…after she got me tickets to my first ever game in Buffalo for opening day against Steelers for my birthday…she got me this for Xmas!!!! She’s a keeper, and I am lucky she was dumb enough to say yes when I asked her to marry me haha
  18. I know exactly who I got it from. I was vaccinated (Moderna) and boosted when exposed to him. He was also the same. So sorry, this has nothing to do with the unvaccinated. Otherwise I wouldn’t have COVID if the vaccine prevented COVID nor would tons of other vaccinated and boosted people I know who have COVID right now.
  19. I guess you missed the part about new variants
  20. Always was. Not one time ever has the vaccine been touted to keep you from getting it 100%. Just like the flu shot doesn’t guarantee you won’t get it. If people want to listen to fake biased media or social media to get a different impression, well that’s on them. But at no point has it ever been the case that the vaccine makes you immune to COVID.
  21. I’m vaccinated and boosted. I have COVID right now and got it from my friend who is also vaccinated and boosted. People need to stop thinking the vaccination keeps you from getting it or spreading it, that’s not at all what it does. Yea it can reduce the odds of getting it and spreading it, but new variants lessen that. The vaccination purpose is to significantly reduce the chances of getting severe reactions that require hospitalization or death. It improves recovery time as well and shortens the window in which you are contagious to others. So the breakout going on in the NFL has nothing to do with unvaccinated players. Anyone and everyone can, and is, spreading it. However, if you are vaccinated the time to return to the field can be shortened versus unvaccinated because your timeline of how long you can be contagious to others is shorter.
  22. Gonna be hilarious when Allen wins MVP but wasn’t a pro bowl selection lmao
  23. Not the same. Davis should ALSO get 6 catches with Beasley there. And no one is better than Beasley at getting those critical short 3rd down passes for a first. So yes, we will miss him, especially if the weather is bad.
  24. That was the point though. People have constantly referenced our weather is being part of our home field advantage. I am countering that its not actually an advantage for us, and its actually this year been a disadvantage at home with bad weather. Bad weather adds a wild card...untimely fumbles that wouldn't normally happen...drops that wouldn't normally happen...slips that wouldn't normally happen...etc. It can happen to either team, so why force that unknown into most of our home games? It can work against us just as easily as it could work for us. I would rather put ourselves in the best position to win each game. So, if the bad weather is not helping give us an edge, why even do it. Especially when the best fan base in the world would make a dome deafening for opposing teams and would TRULY be a home field advantage. Let the Mafia show out and drown them in the noisiest environment they will step into all year. For me its about finding ways to maximize our home field, and IMHO bad weather is not helping our cause in every case. Sure, there are going to be some opponents it gives us an edge on, but there will be others it actually works against us and helps them. Like this year, when we have faced prolific rushing teams in bad weather...that helps them while hurting us. A dome makes sure we always have some sort of advantage at home by maximizing the noise the Mafia brings to the table.
