  1. He looked good in his limited reps against the Fins...no doubt. But I have seen a lot of bad players look good in one part of one game. Not saying he is a bad player, just saying this proves little about him and I just don't see our staff taking snaps away from Devin and Moss for him right now. That being said, sure its possible he could be active, but if so, I doubt he sees many reps, if any at all, unless its a blow out. Me personally...I am super curious about the kid. Wouldn't mind seeing him get some reps here and there, just don't think it's the wisest decision to do so with a guy who less than a half of a games worth or reps experience heading into the playoffs either. MOST importantly, its about both pass protection assignments and ball security. Hard to trust a PS rookie in our first playoff game with those things to really give him snaps over Devin and Moss. Especially since both have shown to be effective in their respective roles when we do use them.
  2. Anyone else get bummed when you see Wyatt Teller on there as well...oh well, cant win them all... Top 3 should have been Adams, Diggs, and Hopkins over Hill IMO. Same, its a travesty that Poyer gets no love here on these things, he is the most underrated and under appreciated (outside of Buffalo) player in the league IMO.
  3. But thats not accurate about Beane in retrospect. Beane had to rebuild a lot more BEFORE he could rebuild the offense. He didn't just build a super power offense in 2 offseasons. This is our 4th year in the '"process" And Beane did it with a LOT of draft capital, which is the polar opposite of what Texans have. And Beane is literally a top 3, if not the top GM in the NFL right now with a top 3 HC leading this team too. Not many can replicate what he did just on the fact not many are as good as he is. Not to mention, Beane acquired the draft capital by trading some of its best assets at the time, including our starting LT, top WR, top DT, and our starting DB. Furthermore, the turning point for the offense was trading TWO first round picks for Diggs, again, something the Texans don't have the luxury of doing. Bills also already had a solid OL, something Texans dont have. Sorry bud, the two situations are not remotely comparable. Like I said, that roster is terrible top to bottom, and even you know that. Bills roster was pretty strong outside a few skill players on offense when Beane rebuilt the offense and had the draft capital to pull it off both in trading around the draft to get their guys and also trading picks to land an elite WR, something the Texans just gave away for a 2nd round pick. For me, its HIGHLY unlikely Houston can be a playoff team in 2022 with that roster right now. They are gonna add a couple of rookies this year, no premium prospects. Thats it outside FA signings until next year. Just no way they rebuild the OL, the defense, and the skill positions this offseason and next. They have no run game, no OL, below average weapons at WR with their best guy suspended for PED violations that is also made of glass and more than likely wont even be back with the team next year despite Watson wanting him back (something else that will piss Watson off more if they dont bring Fuller back). I mean they almost traded him before the deadline as it is. You are being quite unrealistic on the timeline of this rebuild IMHO. And I think Watson sees the STEEP uphill challenge to get back to being a contender, and now the team violating their word and trust with him is only making it worse. Again, is it possible, sure, anything is possible. But you are asking for a first time GM to bat .1000 on every decision (including HC hire) and then some for an 18 month turn around to reach the playoffs. Not something I would bet on personally.
  4. I don’t know, that team is one of the worst rosters in the NFL. With a top 5 QB having an MVP level season statistically they won 4 games and lost a lot of games badly. Put 90% of the other starting QBs on that team this year and they push Jax for the number 1 overall pick. They still don’t have a HC or even know if the GM is any good. With the reduced draft picks too, the new GM is looking at a STEEP hill to climb. I mean you’re asking that GM to be perfect in every decison he makes and hiring the perfect HC to even sniff that optimism. That is a lot to ask. I don’t think it’s realistic to think this team can rebound by 2022. I mean that’s only one more season away. You really think this unproven GM with no first round pick this year is going to rebuild this CFL level roster outside Watson between just this offseason and next? Sorry bud, for me that just isn’t realistic. Impossible, no, but HIGHLY improbable.
  5. But now you’re talking 4+ years before they can start to contend again. You think Watson wants to wait 4-5 years before playing meaningful football? That for me is the big issue. Not whether Texans want to trade him, but is Watson seeing any light at the end of the tunnel sooner than that and does he want to waste that much time if not.
  6. I don’t necessarily disagree, but this situation is a bit of an outlier, so do I disagree here as it starts and stops with the fact it’s reported the Texans said they would consult with Watson about the GM hire and then did not keep their word. Watson has been saddled with a team whose entire demise is solely linked to the moves of their GM, coincidentally who was also their HC as O’Brien was substantially worse GM than HC. If I’m Watson, I am personally heavily interested in who they bring in as GM because I’ve watched terrible front office decisions literally take what should be a perennial playoff team with an elite QB become a 4 win team and not even have the 4th overall draft pick that comes with winning just 4 games. And if I am the Houston Texans, I am heavily invested into keeping Watson comfortable and optimistic. I’m making sure that he has confidence in where we are going and keeping my word to him. I mean, why would Watson trust this team at all after they gave that moron O’Brien all that power and didn’t fire him sooner before he could really screw them further trading guys like Hopkins? Then they promise him they would consult with him about the higher and didn’t? I’d be pissed too if I was Watson. At this point, they should be doing everything they can to regain Watson’s trust and optimism. He is their entire franchise. He is the leader of that team and the guy out on the field giving them any hope. And if I am Watson, I’m looking at the team for signs for optimism.
  7. Again you are twisting my words. I am saying its not a crazy idea this could happen, and again, its also not crazy if Watson is going to force his way out for them to trade him for a bounty. You just like to argue and force arguments dude
  8. You dont read well do you dude. You do this all the time. I literally said I personally would not trade Watson. Seriously, you need to learn freaking read posts before you respond, you are one of the worst offenders as you attack posters for saying things they didnt say all the time. We are discussing the scenarios if Watson was to demand a trade. Thats it. Show me ONE time I said the Texans should trade him. Verbatim said I would not trade him unless I had no choice. All I have stated is that if this was to happen to the Texans this year, at least there are several teams that could afford his contract, need a QB, and send back a bounty of picks.
  9. Watson demanding a trade doesnt mean Watson is demanding a trade to Jets LMAO. You do realize Watson can demand a trade and not automatically mean he is going to Jets. But Jets would be a definite team that could have the ammo to pull it off and likely have interest.
  10. Yeah, this isnt as crazy for the Texans as many here making it out to be. Texans have nothing to rebuild with except Watson. They dont have the draft picks thanks to OBrien, they dont have talent on their roster, thanks to O'Brien. I personally would do everything I could to keep Watson, however, its also not crazy. If Houston can get BOTH Jets first round picks, including the #2 overall, and also get back Darnold who still has upside and could benefit from a change of scenery, well thats not a crazy plan. They could still draft a QB at #2 as well if they want. And honestly, they may be able to get to also get next years first round pick the Jets own from Seattle too making it a 3 first round pick haul potentially if Jets really wanted to make it happen. Dolphins can put a similar package together using the 4th overall pick and throwing in Tua as well. This isnt as crazy as some are making it out to be for the Texans.
  11. Because Watson doesn't seem to approve of the new Texans GM, if the Jets were to hire Daboll and bring in a better GM, I can easily see how he would view the Jets as a better destination than Houston. And I did say earlier if Watson did push for a trade, then I think a team like the Dolphins is who he would push for out of the teams that would most likely be interested with the cap space and ammo to make it happen. They got a good Coach and GM there right now with a good defense and are coming off a 10 win season with Fitz and Tua at QB. He immediately makes them a contender. But in the end, he doesn't seem happy with the GM selection, and if he doesn't believe in the GM (who also has to take the job with no first round picks because of past moves) to rebuild the team, than anywhere else will look better. Plus Jets are a bigger market too.
  12. His contract is tradeable. So its not like no one has heard of the cap. I see people mentioning teams like Pats here though, and yeah, then there are cap issues. But Jets, Miami, and Jags can easily do it. Houston takes a hit this year, much like Beane did took a hit one year on the cap before he headed into a clean cap as they ramped up their rebuild. So while you are right to an extent about the cap, you're also wrong about how you are suggesting its not possible here because of it, as it definitely is possible. Doesn't mean its gonna happen, just saying the cap is not an accurate reason to say it 100% wont.
  13. Despite my post, I personally would not trade Watson unless I didn't have much choice, he is a young QB and already top 5 in the league. However, if I was Watson, I would 100% want to be traded. That team has been set back several years by the bad decisions of the old regime. They just don't have the draft capital for a quick rebuild, and its a total rebuild outside Watson. The defense is atrocious and they have limited talent around him on the offense. But, if there was ever a year to do it in terms of Houston, they could really reload draft picks and possibly also get back a young prospect in Darnold or Tua in a haul from Jets or Miami, or even land Trevor if Jags entered the mix. If I am Jets or Miami, I am all in on trying to get Watson if he somehow becomes available. I would also do it if I am Jags, as good of a prospect Trevor is, he is still just a prospect vs a proven top 5 QB who is still young.
  14. All good, I only capitalized WATSON to clarify. Didnt mean for it to sound so defensive, just fully clarifying my original thoughts.
  15. Swapping Allen? Yeah no, there isn’t anyone I would trade Allen for right now. But yes, Watson is wasting away in Houston and they are facing a full rebuild with no first round picks either and far from contending. So I do think there is a reasonable possibility he requests a trade, and THIS would be the right year to do it if you’re Houston and willing to do it because the type of compensation they could get would be excellent right now. Could get a young guy like a Darnold or Tua to try and develop whole also getting multiple first round picks where in either scenario you would get 2nd or 4th pick as well. Giving them ammo to also draft a QB one if they want one of the available ones there as well. Maybe even land Lawerence if they can get Jags to bite. Be interesting to see if anything comes of this over the off-season. Again, I don’t see Houston doing anything unless Watson demands a trade. Um I fully realize that. Has nothing to do with giving up on Watson. Read my post, said it would require WATSON demanding a trade. Literally said Houston wouldn’t likely consider this unless Watson demands to be traded. Houston threw away a ton of draft picks in bad trades. They don’t have a first this year either as Miami owns it. They are far from contending and have a limited cupboard to rebuild. It’s not unreasonable to see Watson and his team try and get out of town to not waste his career there.
  16. Per usual this time of year, trade rumors are already beginning. And mostly they never amount to anything. However was seeing on Twitter today some chatter that there is a growing belief that Watson is going to demand a trade. Hasn’t happened yet, so nothing substantial yet to this. But Watsons contract is actually pretty tradeable, so this could be a real possibility. HOWEVER: Let’s fast forward and assume he does request a trade. One team that has immediately been linked to him and has the fire power to actually pull off a trade the Texans just might jump at is none other than the Jets. With the number 2 pick and 2 additional first round picks from Seattle (one this year and next year), they have the type of ammunition that could definitely tempt the Texans to trade him. Not to mention, the ability to include Darnold who has potential still and could just benefit from a change of scenery. I doubt Texans will explore trades on their own, I do think it likely takes a Watson trade demand for this to become an option. Watson is a guy you build around, especially given he’s just entering his prime. But, I do think there is a strong possibility he could demand a trade, I mean I wouldn’t blame him after how poorly that place was run since he got there and how far away they are from a contending roster. They need a whole rebuild. And if he does, I think there would be a very strong chance he ends up with the Jets as he jump starts their rebuild. Other teams with firepower would be Dolphins and Jags. So they would also be strong contenders too, especially Miami that include Tua, Houston’s original #4 pick back and more. Jags could trade them Trevor Lawerence essentially too, so they can’t be counted out. Although, I doubt Jags pass on Lawerence and having also a rookie contract for him while they rebuild. Thoughts? You think he will be a major trade this off-season? If so, where do you see him landing. Personally, I voted 50% and Miami as I think there is a decent chance he will request the trade given the state of that roster and organization. I see more Jets tsk about this, but I think Watson would prefer Miami as they could immediately vault into real contender status with him there and I think Miami would be all over this sending Tua and multiple firsts for him. It does worry me that two obvious candidates to potentially land him are in our AFCE division based on the kinds of packages they can offer.
  17. I voted no just because the expectations today are just higher. We are the hottest team in the NFL by a wide margin heading into the playoffs, so losing a game after all the records, stats, wins, etc now would be a huge disappointment. However...that being said, no matter what happens from here on out, the truth is that this was a success no matter what. The only thing that mattered to our future was the development of Josh Allen. Hes arrived. Ive seen Peyton Manning go into the playoffs while in Indy an NFL record NINE times and lose the first playoff game. So I wont truly judge the success of the season on what happens next. Anything can happen in the playoffs...I mean I have seen things like Trent Dilfer win a SB, Rex Grossman get the Bears to a SB, Jeff Hostettler upset the Bills in a SB, a 7-9 team beat a division champion, a journeyman career backup out duel Brady's 500 yards, a relatively no name team with a 6th round rookie QB upset the greatest show on turf, a special teamer win SB MVP, a backup QB make the greatest comeback in NFL history, the music city miracle, etc, etc, etc. For me, it would be a MASSIVE disappointment to not get a playoff win this year, but I still would see the teams year as a success and a major step in the right direction.
  18. I don't want this team to be any of those guys. They lost 4 Super Bowls, not looking to replicate that.
  19. Saying he is the 2021 QB doesn't mean they wont also still draft another.
  20. I didn't want to commit blasphemy on this board and mention this, but yeah, what Brady did in TB this season has been completely over looked. And to be honest, its kind of a shock its been overlooked given the hype and story of him going there this year. And meanwhile, all the talk about the NFC centers around both GB and Saints as the main front runners. But I dont know about either of those teams, they have consistently found ways to LOSE in the playoffs when heading into them as a favorite to reach the SB. And this years teams dont seem a lot different than those past teams. In fact, GB hasn't really been beating teams convincingly either. Sure a few big games were there, but they were not as dominant consistently as I would expect with a QB having 51 TDs to just 5 INTs. I was just telling someone not to sleep on the Bucs. The Mike Evans injury is now just day to day, but they are loaded with weapons even if he has to miss the first playoff game. And people have also over looked AB being there too much. Him and Brady finding a rhythm, and he may be a nut job, but he thrives in the spotlight and playing with a chip on his shoulder. The playoffs are where I think he starts to make a statement for a real contract next year. On the betting site I use, you can bet on Super Bowl matchups. I just put money on Packers/Bills, Saints/Bills, and Bucs/Bills. I hope its Bucs beach it pays +1500 (the most of all those) and we can also have a chance at revenge on Brady. That was the only thing that was lacking for me with the Pats sweep, that Brady wasn't there to experience the losses too. Giving him the loss in the SB would be the ultimate icing on the greatest cake ever.
  21. Count me in the camp of annoyed when they call his first 2 years terrible. This is why: I hate LAZY journalism. I’m on record saying all of what I am about to say back when these things were happening too: Year 1 - They ONLY talk about his comp % or passing TDs only. If anyone with 2 eyes watched the Josh Allen that arrived after returning from injury, they would have immediately seen a guy who just showed a substantial improvement in comparison prior to the injury. Josh balled out over the last 6 games compared to the first part of the season, especially given what he was working with in terms of talent around him. We also led the league in drops that year. Year 2 - Again, all they talk about is the comp %, especially on the deep ball. BUT, they ignore the 30 TDs, tied for most 4th quarter comebacks over his first 2 years, his 4th quarter rating being among the best, etc. BUT: More importantly, Josh was already much improved on the deep ball down the final stretch of the season compared to the atrocious first half of season. We still led the league in dropped passes too. Had we not led the league in drops, that alone likely would have had Josh above 60% last year, and that’s with the deep ball issues earlier in the season. But the guy who finished that year was clearly having a substantially better 2nd year and clearly ascending. His accuracy was actually very good everywhere but the deep ball, and even the deep ball was already improving quite a bit late in the season. Again, for anyone to call his first 2 years atrocious means they did no research, watched no games, and just echoed the false narrative. And their ONLY reasoning was based on his comp %, yet Cam Newton won an MVP while completing less than 60% of his passes. So yeah, it’s annoying when they say it, but it does let me know they are terrible journalist and shouldn’t listen to their other opinions either.
  22. You've done too many trades on Madden. Giants are not trading Barkley, and more importantly...no way Beane gives up a first for a RB coming off an ACL tear and 1 year from a big contract. Ertz is a real possibility.
  23. You should have posted the “Fire them” threads from earlier THIS year.
