  1. Wow, never thought I would see a thread like this. Just a very weird hot take, even for TSW. Roberts is a two time pro bowler for us, one of our best, if not best ST player o this roster. And he’s gonna sit for McKenzie? Whose been dinged up already because he had one kick return in the game his career against a Dolphin team had given up? Like others said...don’t count it or hold your breath on this one.
  2. I know those things, that’s why I said there would be some I could see him interested in, however in each of those teams he’s not currently the leading candidate linked to those teams. So my point was that unless he gets one of those, I think he passes on taking an undesirable one and come back one more year with Josh. So you basically just agreed with me Again, I said there are some I can see him being interested in. But several of these openings have been disasters already for young coaches with poorly run organizations and a long way from turning around. My point is the bond between him and Josh is so strong that I think it will need to be a job he covets and believes in the ownership and front office potential as opposed to take just any HC job offered.
  3. Yet ALL other Giants RBs averaged at least 1.1 yards MORE per carry who had same or more carries than him.
  4. Well every other RB in NY was substantially more effective than Freeman was this year. By a yard or more per carry on same amount of carries or more.
  5. I voted none for one main reason. I don’t think there are many jobs he would want to take over staying with the Bills and Josh another year, and in those specific places I think he would have interest, the talk is other options are the front runners. Just my 2 cents that I don’t think he will just take any job offered to him. I think he is so close to Josh and this team that it would need to be a job he covets. And I have a hard time looking at many of the openings as coveted landing spots.
  6. New flash unexplosive 75 year old Alfred Morris was better on that same Giants team than Freeman...as was EVERY RB on the Giants this year. Freeman YPC over 6 games: 3.2 YPC Gallman: 4.6 Morris: 4.3 Lewis: 4.0 Freeman only RB with at least 20 carries to average under 4 yards per carry for the same Giants team, and he barely averaged over 3 YPC. So yet another terrible take here in this thread.
  7. Yup, still a decent signing given he’s a veteran for the PS in the event there is any injuries. But he wasn’t signed to play this week and likely won’t play without more injuries any time this post season. End of the day, this is most likely Devin’s run game now, he will get the lion share of the snaps at RB and be featured and someone like Yeldon and Taiwan Jones will come in on some 3rd downs or to spell him. People forget they still love Devin who is now by far the best RB we have available. It’s possible they activate Williams too, but with Taiwan almost certainly active for ST reasons, I doubt they activate both Yeldon and Williams for this game.
  8. Why are you ignoring his most recent body of work this year where he wasn’t any good and got hurt yet again?
  9. This is not a good take. One, that SB was a while ago and before a slew of injuries derailed Freeman’s production during the 2018 season. Second, bring him up to speed? Come on, this isn’t Madden. You don’t create chemistry, conditioning, snd playbook understanding by plugging and playing a guy the week he gets here. We run one of the most complicated offenses in the entire NFL and we are a passing team. A RB not up to speed can be a big liability on both pass protecting and in the run game. Nor sure why some people don’t understand the importance of this stuff. Not to mention, Freeman is a shell of his former self and was clearly shot while playing this year before again going on IR. Now he’s been active for a while and not going to be even in game shape. Mind blowing people want to have this guy play against the Ravens this week. Especially since Yeldon has been useful in limited appearances, especially as a receiving outlet.
  10. Why would you put Freeman ahead of Yeldon? He doesn’t know the offense, and we run one of the most complicated, if not the most complicated, offensive system in the NFL. He also averaged 3.2 YPC this year in 5 games and coming off long inactivity on IR due to his injury. I mean, I just don’t get how people always want to plug and play people likes it’s Madden while ignoring things like chemistry, conditioning, and understanding the playbook. Yeldon is who it’s most likely going to be. Williams has a shot, but ONLY if they feel strongly about his ability to pass protect. We are a passing team, not a chance they are going to activate a RB who is a liability on pass pro. And I’m not sure they really know given he spent the season on the PS. They would really have to at least believe he can handle it.
  11. Start? Why would either start over Devin?
  12. Dalton isnt the future or the alternative, never was and wasn't the point. He is just a backup or potential bridge QB to someone they could draft first round this year and there are some intriguing guys that should be there at 10, or even maybe move up if there is one they covet. I would have less issue with paying Dak if not for the bad contracts elsewhere on the team. If they pay Dak, they need to find a way to shed Cooper and Zeke IMO. They have talent behind them at a fraction of the cost. If not, they will be a perennial 6 to 8 win team IMO for a while. I just wont pay a guy top 3 money who isnt good enough to mask the deficiencies of the team and win in the worst division in football. I think its pretty obvious Rodgers, Brees, Mahomes, Brady, Watson, Allen, etc would run away with that division with that roster last 2 years. Dak has a losing record which doesn't make me confident in making him the 2nd highest paid player in NFL history.
  13. Again Gunner, I am not saying he is better than Dak and NEVER said that. In the thread his comment referenced I said many times Dak is clearly better than Dalton, no one would dispute that. What he brought up that I did say is that I had a hard time committing that much money to Dak as the highest paid player not named Mahomes based on the teams struggles and that I didn't think the teams record would be drastically different as some suggested with Dalton over Dak. Case in point: Dak 1-3 and should have been 0-4 if not for the epic collapse only the Falcons can manage deciding to not even fall on an onside kick. 4-4 with Dalton. Is Dak better right now as individual direct comparison, of course. But individuals DONT win games, teams do. And the thread was about what would be better for Cowboys in terms of paying Dak or going another direction. Dak just doesn't get it done when it matters too often, hence my reluctance to pay him what he wants. It was never Dalton is better individual player, it was about whether or not Cowboys should cave and make Dak the second highest player behind Mahomes or roll with Dalton and look to draft a QB of the future instead of being saddled with that monster contract. End of the day, if you are going to pay a QB Elite cap killing money, they better be good enough to carry your team to wins because moving forward, you have to hit often on your draft picks to afford to put a quality roster around said QB and its not as easy to build a winning team with the cap restrictions. This fact is magnified by the large contracts they paid to an over rated WR and also the jumbo contract to a RB. And the only data we have to show this, shows I was correct in saying this given Dalton had a better record in starting and finishing games than did Dak with the same team. Does NOT make him better than Dak as an individual player, but it sure as hell makes it come into question if they should hand out a 3rd cap killing contract on this offense with all the issues it has on the rest of the roster.
  14. Yeah loved this too. Every QB has dropped INT opportunities, including guys like Mahomes and Rodgers. Allen sees his critics harp on it like it doesn’t happen to all QBs regularly. The sack fumble was the fault of the OL, but Josh made it worse by not wanting to give up on the play. And to Josh’s credit, we have seen him way more often do that and make an incredible play, hence why Josh has that mentality. But Josh needs to learn that there are situations in a game where the risk is to great and it’s ok to just take the sack. And he said so himself, so I am not worried. Also, I think Josh felt he had to make this win happen too the way Colts were moving the ball on us in a close game. Just gotta learn he can’t always do it all.
  15. Never said they were. He said Cowboys couldn’t win games with Dalton in that other thread. Yet they did, and at a better rate than with Dak with the same roster. And my original point in that thread he was trying to bring up was when I said I don’t think the Cowboys record is that much different with Dalton. Turns out it was actually quite a bit better with Dalton
  16. 2020 Cowboys Record in games they started and finished: With Dak Prescott 1-3 With Andy Dalton 4-4 So there’s that too sport 😎
  17. Hmmmmm... Defense this year without Milano: Hot Garbage. Defense this year with Milano: Much improved. Seems like another classic TSW really bad hot take.
  18. @FireChansSoooo your hot takes of saying I’m crazy for suggesting this could happen don’t seem to be aging well as more buzz builds on the potential of a Watson and Houston divorce. 🤣😂🤣 https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2926207-mort-deshaun-watson-would-consider-dolphins-trade-tua-tagovailoa-to-texans
  19. Anyone without Allen on their list is out of their mind IMO. He was the entire offense today. I see some replies want to take him off over one play while ignoring he had 3 TDs and well over 300 yards against a stingy defense and led our team in rushing too. It starts with Allen, others too, but Allen was the entire team today.
  20. I don’t know what Daboll was thinking today. He went back to the early in the season mindset and making head scratching calls, trying to force the run when it wasn’t there, too conservative at times, and went with too many called QB runs. We are a passing team, and when he turned it loose we moved the ball with ease. I really hope Daboll goes back to what we have seen all during the second half of the season.
  21. Same with you, always a fun time. There are things we are often fully in alignment on, and then others where we have differing opinions. But always find the back and forth fun on the differing opinions because I know no matter what I will always get back a well thought out and respectful opinion. #GOBILLS I still dont see the Dolphins as a fair comparison. They seem to have hit on both the GM and HC, how many teams do that? Plus Miami had a lot more cap space and draft capital and their best players on defense and offense were already there in Xavier Howard, Jerome Baker, DeVante Parker and Gesicki. I mean Howard had 10 ints and Baker led the team in tackles and 2nd in sacks, all been there 3 years or more and drafted by the team. All good though, we will see how it plays out. Personally, I think there is more and more smoke building around a potential Watson trade and this all may be a mute point if that happens.
  22. @GunnerBill For the record, I do respect and enjoy the dialogue with you, which is why I engage with you on it. Thanks for the convo participation
  23. I definitely disagree in the comparison of the Dolphins and Houston overall roster when not factoring in Watson who clearly is the best overall player by a mile on both teams. But lets go back to Bills and Houston. You also keep forgetting about the OL. Houstons is among the leagues worst. Bills was not when they started the offensive focus. And you keep skipping over we traded a first and multiple draft picks for Diggs. Houston has 1 first round pick over next 2 drafts and none this year. So the first round pick they do have will be a rookie in the year you say they will be a playoff team. In a division with a Titans team that should be good a while as they are young, and a Colts team that is pretty good roster and isnt going anywhere soon. Their biggest question mark is whether or not Rivers will retire this year, but there are some potential intriguing options for them at QB including talk they could make a trade for someone like a Stafford or Ryan (again just unsubstantiated rumors now, but if that happens, Colts are even better than they are today). Also...first time GM who has not done one thing yet and still does not have a HC who could be good, bad, or mediocre. Dolphins hit big on their staff so far and have top end defense, which was the top scoring defense in the NFL this year, which is WHY they won 10 games. My bad, hahaha, yeah I was thinking Watkins haha. But still we traded a first and some additional picks. Houston doesnt have that luxury is still the point, but thank you I will update that.
  24. Again though Gunner, you are completely overlooking all the work Beane did BEFORE he could invest so heavily in the offense. You think Beane can spend so much draft capital on offense if he didnt already have a strong defensive unit in place? No not at all. You think he can trade up for guys like Ford, Singletary and Knox in one draft then trade for Diggs with our first and some change if he didn't have all that draft capital and also already put critical pieces elsewhere on defense already? You are taking the last 2 years of our 4 year rebuild and using it as proof he can turn around a bad roster into a playoff team in 18 months while severely lacking the draft capital to do it. Again, you are asking for a FIRST time GM to bat a thousand on every draft pick, every FA signing, and every coaching hire in his first 18 months. Beane traded quality starters away in his first 2 seasons as GM in order to put the team in position to make the draft picks they did and the trades they did. You are skipping all that and taking a first time GM with less than their own starting draft picks and expecting the same. Beane in his first 3 drafts had in his possession a total of 4 first round picks, Houston has one. Beane used the 4 picks to add Allen, Edmunds, Oliver, and Diggs. Substantial additions to the team, including 3 pro bowlers, a first team all-pro and 2nd team all-pro this year. Not to mention all the extra picks he had in the subsequent rounds he had to work with to draft and trade around the draft with. Bills had the foundations of a good defense the first year McD was here when they drafted White too. That first year defense is substantially better than what Houston is starting with. Our OL was in a lot better shape too than Houstons before we started adding the skill players. Again, you are skipping all that work and then some, including finding the ideal HC for this team just because they have Watson already entering his prime. Drew Brees passed for 5000 yards several seasons in a row WITHOUT making the playoffs. How many big statistical seasons has Stafford had without sniffing the playoffs? How about Matt Ryan? Watson isnt enough on his own, he had an MVP level season statistically, and his best as a pro, and won 4 games. And now he is also likely to lose his favorite weapon in Fuller next year too before starting to rebuild an already bare cupboard. All good bud, I enjoy the dialogue, just think you are grossly over estimating the potential of that teams timeline and at the same under estimating what Beane did before we could really take the next step.
