Richardson can't hit the broadside of a barn, so no surprise. Makes this matchup more legit for us though. Still expect a win, but with Richardson it was likely a blow out as our D would have chewed him up. Flacco can at least get the ball out and get it to his guys, so makes the Colts a bit more dangerous as they still have some good weapons there. So I am going from expecting a 3+ score blow out to just your normal multiple score win of 10+ points.

Diggs hurt (Torn ACL - out for the season)
Alphadawg7 replied to fasteddie's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes this is correct. I was actually wrong myself about this yesterday and someone cleared up my misunderstanding of it for me. I had mistakenly thought that when Beane restructured him that it gave him another big guarantee still next year. But the poster who cleared that up and explained to me what really happened stated he only had $3.5M guaranteed next year and nothing GTD the 2 years after that. Houston took his $3.5M guarantee from next year and added it to this year boosting his salary up this year an additional $3.5M. -

Hahaha but who did it better 🤪 Also I feel like we aged ourselves with this old reference haha -
That’s a long list lol and what is hilarious is that some of them are trying to gloat about their negative takes on the WRs being right because of the Cooper trade while ignoring how wrong they were on Keon (and some of them on Shakir too). Selective and cherry picking memories some people have lol

I'm really starting to love this WR room. We quietly got better
Alphadawg7 replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Except Coleman has done most of his production (including 100% of it against Titans) with Cooper off the field. Colemans breakout is substantially more because Allen and Brady have trusted him more and more and giving the kid more opportunities. Not that the Cooper addition wasn’t good, I was all for it. But this idea it’s been Copper opening things of for Coleman on the field isn’t that accurate. And I point this out for two reasons…to show how much more potential is still there as Cooper does get more integrated into the offense and to give Keon the proper credit he deserves for his play too. -
hahaha awesome

I didn't even read the post...I just hit the agree emoticon as that was the only emoticon you had not gotten yet of the 11 options and wanted your post to have the rare perfect 11 out of 11 emoticon responses 😂 But TBH, I am reading now and I don't actually agree. I would rather the starters click and blow them out then get out of the game early and get rest and avoid injuries while the backups come in and get mop up duty.

Khalil Mack trade - what would it take?
Alphadawg7 replied to MiracleAtRich1393's topic in The Stadium Wall
No offense, I laughed reacted to your post because that is wildly a lot to give up for a 33 year old player. I think we learned our lesson with Von already. Day 3 pick, sure lets talk. But all of that above is unrealistic, especially since Beane already traded his 3rd rounder. -
Diggs hurt (Torn ACL - out for the season)
Alphadawg7 replied to fasteddie's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know, I just tagged you in a post and said my bad. I had a different understanding of the void, I thought it was Houston that wanted it voided and that after Beanes restructure of Diggs last year that he still had a big guarantee next season. I was mistaken and not afraid to acknowledge that when I am. So again, my bad -
Diggs hurt (Torn ACL - out for the season)
Alphadawg7 replied to fasteddie's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ah, well maybe I am mistaken and misunderstanding the contract in terms of the void. I thought after Beane restructured him that he still had a big guarantee next year and that Houston was the one that wanted to void it to make the trade happen. Thanks for adding that context, that was new information to me and can see now why it wouldn't make sense to say he willfully took less money. So my bad, I stand corrected if this is accurate. @Einstein's Dog - This new context Mater just added seems to have cleared up where my disconnect was. So my bad, although I do still do feel Diggs primary discontent and main reason to get out was about his waning belief the past 2 seasons this team would get over the hump before his career was done. -

Yeah but he was a safety, not a NCB in KC. -
Keon Coleman 5th In Rookie Receiving Yards
Alphadawg7 replied to iwishitwerecolder's topic in The Stadium Wall
I get what you are saying, but there is a lot of misguided concern about this 5th year option. The reality is that Keon was never going to get to that 5th year option unless Keon doesn't prove to be a long term player here they want to pay a bigger 2nd contract to. Keon is playing with an elite QB, so we will know if he is a guy worthy of a 2nd contract long before we get to that 5th year option. And if Keon does establish himself as a legit starting WR here long term, Beane would never let him play on his 5th year option where Beane now has to compete with big FA money to resign him after the season where WR money has been a bit stupid in FA. So even if we had stayed put and took Keon in the first, the 5th year wouldn't have mattered anyway if Keon proves to be a long term piece as Beane would have extended him after year 3 or 4 anyway. And that was the knock on him coming out, he was much more raw than any prospect expected to go in the early rounds and only had 1 season in his 5 seasons in college where he had any production. Legette also said once camp opened he wished he had studied the playbook harder too leading up to camp. Doesn't mean he won't eventually get there, he obviously has a high ceiling. But for Legette to get there he is going to need to learn and figure out what it means to be a professional and dedicated to his craft. The fact he mentioned that is a positive sign though for him in that regard. Then again I say every day I should go to the gym more and still don't 😂 -

Ah yes, that is a good pull, although like you said he didn't play exclusively NCB like Taron does, but a nice pull none the less. -

Alphadawg7 replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed, and just furthering Taron's value, I am not sure I can recall another NCB that impacted his defense individually as much as Taron does here. Im sure there has been one or some, but honestly can't think of one that was as important and impactful as Taron is in this system for this defense. -
The next 6 games will be interesting.

IMHO: We should beat fins by double digits We should beat Indy by double digits - probably a blow out We should beat KC by more than 4+ points We should beat the Niners by 7+ points We should beat the Rams by at least 7+ points (blow out if they trade Stafford and Kupp) Lions are the worst matchup for us in the NFL right now IMHO. We struggle to stop the run, defend the screen, and have a history of good TE's going off on us. Lions can do all that amongst the best in the NFL. This is the one game that scares me. Screen game with Gibbs, Jameson, and even Montgomery scares me against our team as we still can't seem to defend it. Our best chance is getting to Goff, which we can, but if they counter that with getting the ball out early and short to Gibbs, LaPorta, Montgomery, etc it can be a big problem for our defense. I just hope our key players are healthy for that game on defense. Then of course, there is their ability to run the ball too in any fashion from pounding it to explosive out on the outside. I mean Lions just scored 52 points with Goff throwing for just 85 yards in that game. -

I like your top 5...however, I would put Shakir as number 2, he simply has delivered every opportunity he gets and is among the best in the NFL in a number of receiving categories right now. I would also bump one of Brown or Dawkins (they have had a pretty equal season IMO, but probably bump Brown just because Dawkins plays the more important side) and replace them with Rasul Douglas who has been excellent this season again. Honorable mention is Bernard, but he can't make the top 5 when he can't stay on the field. So my list would be: Cook Shakir Benford Dawkins Douglas -
Its not that unusual for Anthony Richardson though

You being mentioned was not because I called you out or said anything disparaging about you. I just mentioned what our conversation was specifically about and what my comments specifically were on Hollins as the previous poster had a grave misunderstanding of what he thought I said about Hollins. So I am not going to get into this reply with you as I think you have a misunderstanding as to why you were cited.

Lol...let me clarify my comment first: It wasn't a serious comment, it was a tongue and cheek joke referring to the "everyone owes Badol an apology thread" that was embarrassingly on this board last week before it was deleted. Back up though on the rest...don't get my offseason comments twisted. I never proclaimed anything about our WR group. This happens all the time...people confuse activity in a thread with substance and you could not be more wrong about what I personally actually said. Samuel - I never pushed Samuel, in fact, I pushed back against the people like Badol who kept saying Samuel was our WR1 and literally said no it is Keon Coleman and that our top 3 targets will be Keon, Shakir, and Kincaid in no particular order. And that has been spot on. Hollins - The Hollins comments were SPECIFICALLY about @Kirby Jackson worrying that Keon Coleman was "behind" Mack Hollins because of some comments he read or heard during preseason from some Bills talk commentators. What I actually stated (and has been 100% spot on) was that Keon is absolutely NOT behind Mack Hollins as Keon had taken 100% of his snaps in camp and preseason with the 1's and never a single snap with the 2's. Hollins had been splitting between the 1's and 2's and that Mack Hollins was getting reps in preseason and practice with the ones because they absolutely had a role for him and that role was NOT at the expense of Coleman's role. And week 1, neither Hollins or Coleman were on the field for the first play of the game (a run) and the 2nd play of the game (a pass) it was Coleman on the field, not Mack and Coleman led the team in snaps and receiving week 1 and been ahead of Hollins like I said since day 1. I constantly stated Mack Hollins was a 5th or 6th target/receiver on this team. Literally that was the biggest gap in my convesation with @Kirby Jacksonwhere I kept saying he was too worked up about a guy who will finish the season no better than the 5th or 6th target on this team. Kirby and I were not even that divided per se on the overall subject of the WR room, it was just this one thing where he was worked up thinking Keon was falling behind because he misunderstood Hollins involvement to be a ding on Keon when it was Samuel who Hollins was taking snaps from opposite Keon. So respectfuly, please don't try and twist my words as if I was on here propping up Mack Hollins this offseason as a "starting WR" here or that Samuel was going to be our savior. I never said any of those things. Furthermore, I never declared our WR room was anything...there is a BIG difference in not being willing to CONDEMN the WR room before the season begins and having optimism and wanting to see them on the field first. I also literally said many times Beane was not done with the WR room, but that $31M dead money in the WR room meant it was more likely going to come next year via trade, FA or draft (or some combo). However, Beane wizard his way into getting help this year cheap with Amari, which was awesome and something I was all for in my posts. Was I optimistic about guys like Shakir, Kincaid, and of course Keon...absolutely. Was I all doom and gloom about the WR room...nope. I was optimistic that Diggs and Davis being gone were addition by subtraction (which it was, Josh has 1 INT) and that our top 3 guys were a great young core (which they are). And when the offense struggled weeks 4 and 5 I was on here with others encouraging Beane to make a move. Cheers, GO BILLS!

I know bud, I was just making a general comment, not refuting anything you said, more just follow on to what you said. Wasn't referring to you as if you were going to over exaggerate the Cooper addition in terms of what Coleman did the past 2 weeks.
-
All of Colemans production last week came when Cooper was not on the field. People are going to over exaggerate the last 2 week breakout of Coleman as if it was because of Cooper, but it really wasn't. It is more they are moving Coleman around more and also just giving him more targets.

I am just waiting for the apology thread for all the Keon doubters and haters to apologize to the rest of us 😂
