  1. That’s just it, I don’t undervalue ST’s. In the past I’ve been quite vocal about the importance of ST’s and all too well remember the horrid we trotted out year after year and screaming at the TV over ST blunders. The difference is I feel we have a really good ST unit these days, and don’t see Taiwan as irreplaceable. Funny thing is almost none of the people advocating for Taiwan have probably even noticed him in a game and are arguing his greatness over a comment from a coach. While he’s obviously a great ST player for us, this notion he is irreplaceable in that role is so grossly over exaggerated around here.
  2. Lol, I am fine if he makes the team, some of you act like I have an agenda against him just because I don’t THINK he will make it unless we open spot up through IR. And I have said MANY times he very well could make the roster and the IR trick is quite possibly the way they will do it. So let me say for the 100th time…I have NOTHING against Taiwan, I just personally prioritize some other players I feel will be on the 53 BEFORE factoring in IR roster tactics.
  3. I won’t say he’s not worthy of a roster spot, ST is always important. But I don’t think he is more valuable THIS year over some of our roster decisions. I’d rather have Brieda as a tool for the offense than say Taiwan. I’d rather keep 7 WRs to keep Stevenson for return duties. I’d rather sign another OT after cuts. I’d rather keep an extra CB like Wildgoose. Etc etc. I have no issue with Taiwan other than I don’t think he brings enough to the table to make this years roster because of players we have at other positions I think are higher priority.
  4. Well that’s inconsistent with other posts you’ve made referencing Kumerow being capable of playing gunner (even though you felt Taiwan was better)
  5. What does this have to do with defense? Some of you guys act like no one in the NFL is capable of making the same SINGLE DIGIT number of ST plays Taiwan did over a full season. I hope some of you buy his jersey, he is obviously irreplaceable and that good lol
  6. You already said it’s not fair to talk about one catch for Kumerow given his short stint on the roster. And his tiny time on the team, he arguably contributed more to our record than Taiwan did over a whole season because Taiwan didn’t do anything last season another gunner couldn’t do. But Taiwan won’t ever make a play on offense. Your argument here is weak because you and I both know that Kumerow is fully capable to fill in for Taiwan as gunner (or others) with similar production there, while we also know Taiwan isn’t ever going to produce any offensive points, or even yards, during the season.
  7. No, didn’t say that. I am saying give me a player who contributes more than a one dimensional ST player who isn’t irreplaceable even at his gunner duties.
  8. I am just saying he contributed to that win because wins and losses are determined by the scoreboard. Give me the guy who helps put points on the board.
  9. Yeah makes you wonder if that heavily contributed to the rapid downfall of his arm. I mean it looked like he was 8 years older last year than he is.
  10. Kunerow literally helped us win that game with that amazing TD catch. And why is it everyone acts like ONLY Taiwan was capable of playing gunner and making those 6 stops? This guy is not some HOF ST player, but he’s talked about as it he is utterly irreplaceable as a gunner. I’d rather have the TD catch that actually wins us games and I’m fully confident in Kumerow or someone else contributing to replacing and making those same 6 ST stops.
  11. WHOA!? I didn't even know he was on the Bills! Crazy, not sure how I missed that
  12. Agreed, I think it’s almost a certainty that he will be back shortly after the cut downs. Just a move to IR someone as you said, Hollister was not only one of the few players they could do this move with, but I believe he was the cheapest one in terms of the cap to do it with too.
  13. If I had to guess, Cam ends up in Houston, Dallas, Or Indy as a backup
  14. Hollister cut looks certainly like a move to protect someone else to IR them after the cut down and bring him back.
  15. Not surprised. His arm looked absolutely shot last year.
  16. I dont disagree about DJ and being a core ST, but we have other core ST players here too that are likely sticking around. I have nothing against Taiwan at all, and totally fine if he makes the team. My thing on Taiwan is that I just feel that if they keep Brieda it will because they have plans for him in the offense, not as an emergency RB. I cant imagine them having 5 RB's active on gameday between Devin, Moss, Brieda, Gilliam and Taiwan. And given I think Devin, Moss, and Gilliam are locks to remain, that leaves one active roster spot left, and I just think its gonna be Brieda. We have a lot of really good ST players still on this team too, so I just don't see him as a guy we cant afford to lose over another guy who will contribute more overall. But by no means am I saying he cant make the team, just my opinion based on the reasons I have already stated that I think he likely doesn't. And IMHO, Daryl Johnson is a better overall player than Taiwan, so in my mind it shows that being a ST ace isn't enough to automatically stick on the 53. And I agree on the DT's, but I think Phillips injury kind of forced their hand to initially keep 5. But if he will miss a couple weeks, I think they will just IR him after the 53 and bring someone back...and thats very possible to be a ST contributor too like say Taiwan.
  17. I didn’t even mention Taiwan in that post clearly wrote the final roster prior to this trade lol
  18. Unless its third and short, then I prefer Star in there to clog the middle lanes more. TBH, I think I would put Star in over Oliver in that scenario too if you have 3 pass rushers already on the DL in that lineup because I think we are a better pass rush if we have some size taking up blockers. Last year, being undersized in the middle was a consistent problem.
  19. Welp...the DE trade happened, but instead of doing the trade to keep Daryl Johnson, it was a straight trade of Daryl Johnson. So now, I think the remaining 6 DE's are safe for the final roster, which is good because I would prefer to keep Obada (the guy I thought might get traded given he was still at the back of the depth chart with DJ).
  20. Its not out of the question, although its not been McD's style in the past to start rookies unless we had no other better options. He prefers easing them in more, and AJE has been quite impressive himself.
  21. haha all good, debates are fun especially when both sides making calm and rational points on the debate
  22. Addison's value wasn't determined in yesterdays preseason game. They know who he is what he brings to the table. Their decision to keep him will come down to trade offers, and numbers on the roster cut downs. And at the end of day, good players will be cut from this team or traded. We cant keep them all.
