  1. That’s a good question…I think it depends on the rest of the season. For example, if he finishes with what his stats are “projecting” at after 3 games say like 900-1000 yards, it will be different than say once our offense doesn’t have the luxury of taking 2nd halves off and his targets go further up and it leads to him finishing north of say 1200 yards. I think if he is 900-1100 yard guy then something like high teens per might get it done. He breaks 1200+ yards and I think $20m per and above is where it’s headed.
  2. I agree with all this for the most part, although I wasn’t as down on Higgins coming out as you said you were and was fine drafting him if he would have been our pick even though there were others I preferred. In terms of the tough decision on Shakir though, I will go on record now and say that IMHO Shakir will not be going anywhere. Josh and this team love him and he is going to get a second contract IMHO. In fact, I believe Beane will try and extend him early like he has with others before his price tag gets too high in FA.
  3. Adams was complaining after a win last year when he didn't get the ball enough in that win. He would be a terrible fit in this offense right now. He is still a top level talent, but from a fit stand point he would hate not being the feature and he is also not known for doing all the dirty work either. If I made a list of the worst fits for this team right now he would be at or near the top. Personally, I don't think there is any chance we bring someone in unless a significant injury happens or the offense begins to struggle at the WR position over the weeks leading up to the trade deadline. But...if that did happen and we did make a move, I could see Diontae being a more realistic target than the other guys being mentioned here.
  4. And what was Rice last year when the Chiefs won the SB? Hint: Rhymes with "Wookie"
  5. That is the only play you can think of that any scrub WR couldn't have made? No disrespect, but I have no idea how you can say that with a straight face. I mean Shakir alone has made a number of them including other TD catches than just that one. So any scrub is going to win his one on one battle with that much separation that Coleman got for his TD? Any scrub is going to go up with that body control and catch that deep shot Coleman caught week 1? Any scrub is going to catch ball for a 3 yard gain and get smashed by a defender but bounce off him and run the ball up for double digit yards and a first down like Shakir did? Any scrub is going to catch a short pass and ping pong his way for a TD rolling over a defender and stretching out to get the TD like Shakir did week 1? Any scrub is going to run a text book perfect route for the TD week 1 that Hollins did? Any scrub is going to catch some of the tough throws Shakir caught over the middle? Any scrub is going to set an NFL record for catching 27 straight targets? Do you even know how wild that statement is that you are saying any "replacement level" WR would have made every play except the one TD by Shakir? It totally fine you are not yet sold after 3 weeks, but some of these comments like this are just wildly extreme and not reflective of what we saw the first 3 weeks. For example...so why weren't Harty and Sherfield making these same plays last year? Why wasn't Davis or even Diggs for that matter? I find it very interesting that this is the best start and best 3 game stretch of Allens career and its not close...while you say its the worst group he has worked with and that any scrub WR's could be on the field getting the same results. This notion you can plug any low level guy into this offense and somehow this offense would be this good is a wild take to me. What you and many others are sorely missing is that this group is built to compliment each other and compliment this scheme...and that is across the board, not just in the WR room. Its them, the TE's, the RB, and the OL all built to run this offense. And thus far, they are doing so at a very high level through 3 weeks. To suggest any low quality players can be plugged into all their roles at the receiver position and get the same results is just a false reality IMHO.
  6. Fair...but let me ask you this...If his name was MHJ, Odunze, or Nabers would you still be saying that you don't trust him because he is a rookie? Or are you just using the rookie status as a reason about Coleman because you aren't as high on Coleman in general?
  7. I would not unless someone gets hurt or we start to see struggles as teams get more tape on the offense. The chemistry of this team is through the roof right now, especially with Allen and the receivers. Everyone is committed to all the little things and dirty work too and our offense is a function of the sum of all the parts. And adding anyone else into that right now is a risk IMO that isn't worth taking unless we can see a need for said player. So you have decided that Coleman can't make that contested catch after 3 games?
  8. Yet, anyone can go into the All-22 and show 30 clips of the WR's making plays and playing at a very high level in all facets of the game all over the field. So no disrespect, that is playing better than "fine" during the first 3 weeks.
  9. No disrespect, but unless Joe Brady is putting this stat out, they do not know who Allens first read is. When you talk about an OC scheming guys to get open, that includes running clear out routes to get those guys open and that involves the QB leading defenders with his eyes. So just because Allen looks at someone initially does not mean they are the intended target or his primary read on the play. So since you are saying they are producing as players what you expected...so does that mean that you expected Josh Allen to only have 2 pass attempts week 1 the first half until the final drive of the half? Does that mean you only expected Josh to complete 18 passes but to 9 different people week 1? Does that mean you expected the Bills to dominate on the ground week 2 in a blow out to the offense just chewed clock the 2nd half instead of throwing? Does that mean you expected the Bills to score on 5 straight TD drives in a game Josh hit 10 different receivers and then the offense again took the 2nd half off week 3 in another blowout? I ask that...because for you to say this is what you expected means in terms of production, then you would have had to of expected that after 3 games of football you expected the passing offense to be going all out in basically just 2 halves of football through 3 games. So while you and others keep citing stat totals as "evidence" of the group being basically meh, underwhelming, not good (depending on which poster one is talking to), you are also completely disregarding the literal context of those totals. What is wild to me about this take about the stats is that basically you are holding it against the WR's for basically the offense being too good.
  10. It’s going to be interesting to see how our defense plays the Lamar/Henry run combo this week.
  11. You are hung up on the wrong stats. First off, you do realize that 11.5 yards per stat has been impacted by the fact that we mailed it in for 50% of the past 2 games too right? No disrespect, if you want to analyze the performance of our receivers you aren’t going to do so on the stat sheet when we are only playing one half of football each week and Allen is hitting 9 and 10 different receivers each week. You’re just pulling data to force a confirmation bias. Instead, turn the film on, our guys are winning and executing at a very high level all over the field in everything they are being asked to do. People who analyze this stuff for a living, even guys who were critical of the WR room and weapons before the season have all been talking about how great they are executing out there every week. So unless you or anyone else can produce video evidence of our WRs being limited, struggling to do their jobs, etc then there is not an argument to be made that this group is playing bad these first three weeks. Roster building 101: The GMs literal only job is to give the coaches the personnel to execute their systems at a high level. This group’s is literally doing this on every level of their jobs right now. And the only failures we had on our downfield attempts were Allen’s fault for badly missing a wide open MVS twice and our RB dropping an over the shoulder pass.
  12. Fair reply, but you already said it…receiving yards is not a viable stat here. I would take Shakir over a lot of guys above him on that list for example, a lot of them. And for a lot of reasons and intangibles that Shakir brings that make him more valuable IMO than many guys on that list. Think about this…look where Shakir is on this list. Now consider the passing offense has really only been full throttle for essentially 2 halves of football this season. Last 2 min of first half through the 2nd half of week 1 (Allen had only 2 pass attempts prior to that thanks to his own mistake, penalties in the OL, and the D not getting AZ off the field fast enough) and first half the Jags game. Week 2 it was the Cook show and the offense took the 2nd half of the game off as it also did against the Jags in blow out losses. Where do you think Shakir ranks yardage wise if we had gone all 4 quarters where the pass game was heavily involved all 3 weeks? This is why this yardage stat for our particular offense has no relevancy on grading the quality of our guys play. Josh hit 9 receivers week 1…Cook show week 2…and then he hit 10 guys week 3. As I have said, it is early, nothing is for sure right now moving forward still. We need to see how this offense fares against tougher opposition when teams have more film to prepare for. But as you said above, can they win a SB like this? Well Pats and Chiefs won 9 like this so we know it can be done, the question is can we executing it at this high of a level when teams get more film on us. But like you said, early results are promising, especially with how different our game plan has been each week.
  13. No, he is just saying he is right and you are wrong...don't matter what happens on the field. And that is all this thread is about...being right. I mean who cares we have the number 1 offense in the league despite only really running our full offense for barely over 3 halves of football through 3 games right? Funny watching people complain about running a similar offense to what the made Pats and Chiefs into dynasties, especially from people who essentially prefer we mimic the Dolphins approach to building a team who can't beat a .500 team or win a playoff game.
  14. Weird...Jags played man all game and we dismantled them. Our guys won their 1 on 1 matchups all day Sunday...well at least the first half until we were so far ahead we just took a vacation the 2nd half and chewed clock. This is soooo predictable and I predicted it like 100 pages ago in this thread that the people on the negative extreme with the WR's would NEVER admit the WR's were better than they thought if the offense had a lot of success this year and would give all the credit to Josh and/or Brady. Now...3 weeks is too small a sample size to prove anything, we still need to see how Brady and the offense respond to DC's when they get more film on the offense. But its already happening...you and others are already giving all the credit to Brady (who many of you also crapped on this offseason, I am NOT sure if you did or did not about Brady, but many of the others I know did) even now so no reason to think it will be different if this offense keeps up the whole season.
  15. You can't just keep saying the WR's aren't good and ignore facts, context and reality of what has really been happening on the field. Anyone citing stat totals as you do in other posts below has already failed at accurately evaluating this group and are just trying to cling to previous negative takes that are not playing out on the field like they predicted. So if you are going to say they aren't good, then why don't you present film evidence of them not being good? And before you go and do what you do every week and cite "stat totals", that is not evidence of them not being good. Not when in week 1 Josh completed only 18 passes and to NINE different receivers...not when in week 2 Cook went off and the offense took the 2nd half off in a blow out...not when in week 3 Josh hit TEN different receivers and again the offense took the 2nd half off in another blow out win. If you want to insist that they are not good, then surely you can provide film evidence of them struggling and not being good. Case in point right here...Shakir has caught an NFL record 27 straight targets...that is elite, that is an NFL record. But because Allen is spreading the ball around you want to downplay Shakir by citing "projected totals" as if those projections are an indication of him being limited instead of the REAL context that Allen is throwing to everyone and the offense has essentially only played 3 halves of football the first 3 weeks through the context of the individual games. See I knew this would happen and predicted this earlier in this thread this offseason...all the people who went to the extreme with the WR's were never ever going to acknowledge they are better than they thought and just say its all Brady or Allen if the offense had success. What happened to all the "nobody can get open without an elite WR drawing extra coverage" for example? Guys are getting open all over the field without that "elite" guy. No disrespect, but Brady looks great because the players are executing his offense great. Brady can't be the "star" if the guys on the field "aren't good" and aren't doing their jobs at a high level. So while Brady has been great, so have the players on the field. Look...If you still are not sold because you haven't seen them go through a stiffer test or seen a bigger body of work, that is 100% fair and no objection from me. But to say the WR's "are not good" after these past 3 weeks is just a stubborn commitment to a preseason opinion. And to be fair, the first 3 weeks mean nothing other than they looked great the first 3 weeks. Lot of football left, tougher tests to come, nothing is proven long term yet.
  16. Exactly and it was why I kept hoping the Jags would score some cuz I had Allen, Kincaid, and Sahkir going in fantasy and FanDuel games and didn’t want them to just run the clock the whole 2nd half haha. They ended up getting me enough points though to still win all of my games at least ha
  17. shhhhh you will ruin the negative fantasy for some…they aren’t ready for facts
  18. Calling it now: I told you so. 😂😜
  19. 🤢 Kyle Orton 🤢 🤮 Coe
  20. You have this hang up with yardage totals while totally missing the point of this offense isn't going to allow any one person to put up a lot of yards. Week 1 - Josh completed 18 passes to 9 different receivers. He only had 2 attempts with just over 2 minutes left in the first half and the Bills went on to score 31 points in 31 minutes. Week 2 - James Cooked and Josh threw for under 150 yards and basically we took the entire 2nd half off. Week 3 - Josh competed passes to 10...thats ten...different receivers that resulted in 5 consecutive TD drives to start the game before the offense again just took the 2nd half off. But...you keep wanting to go back to individual yardage totals to say the group hasn't been good or impressive. Honestly don't think there could be a more inaccurate way to evaluate or grade the receivers performances the first 3 weeks than “total yards”.
  21. He looks like the real deal. I’m excited to see him again this week. I loved the pick and been excited about him all offseason after he kept popping in camp. Be interesting to see how they use him with the everyone playing so well.
  22. Kudos to Allen, I never felt like he was "talking" about Diggs when he made his post game comments Monday despite the media uproar to try and make it that since. If anyone knows Allen he isn't one to try and throw people under the table, take subtle jabs, etc. So sick of the media always trying to make nothing into something, like let these two dudes be. Both are happy with the result, both are doing their own things and being respectful of each other. The way the media just tries so hard to make a "story" just gets old. Diggs was even on social media after Hamlins interception, like quit trying to force drama.
  23. When was the last time anyone went back and read @JerseyBills original post that started this thread? I just did and if people remove their bias of wanting to be right about their own takes, I think you will find it was well written and thus far mostly been pretty spot on. Nice work...I agreed with you since day 1 and still do now. I like what we are seeing through 3 weeks, especially how Brady is varying the style, look, and play calling week to week based on the opponent. It will make it harder for teams to scheme to defend it on any given week. Still need to see how Brady and the O handle tougher tests where the opposing teams have more film to prepare against us, but hard to find much fault in your OP through 3 weeks and you should be getting more kudos for that.
