  1. Its already all over the board here and the internet. He is returning to Washington. When he signed here, Washington had not made him any kind of offer. But they came back after the fact and matched our offer, and his preference was not to leave Washington at all. So he decided to return to Washington, where he wanted to be from the get go, just never got an offer until after he agreed verbally here.
  2. Oliver and Settle will start - 3T and 1T - and play on passing downs most often IMHO. I think Jones plays more the short yardage and obvious rushing downs at the 1T. If Phillips signs, he likely rotates in to spell Oliver when needed. And both Settle and Phillips are versatile enough to go into either the 3T or 1T if needed at times. But my expectation is that...3T: Oliver and Phillips. 1T: Settle and Jones. The rotation I expect will be frequent to keep guys fresh and all will see a good amount of snaps.
  3. Doesn't seem likely, everything I am seeing its down to 3 teams and we aren't one of them. But you never know, I would be all for it.
  4. Honestly, that will be a nasty interior DL for us, a BIG improvement from last year too. Settle is a guy who can penetrate too from the 1T, while Jones is that big space eater type.
  5. Not to play 1T, but because we will have 5 DT's...and we are not keeping 5 DT's on our active game day roster IMO. We are set at 1T already with Settle and Jones. Phillips would be here to back up Oliver IMO. So yeah, I agree with you totally on that.
  6. He isn't going to make it past Pittsburgh anyway, and likely gone before them too.
  7. I think Oliver and Settle will be the "starters" and are in for obvious passing situations, Jones rotates in for Settle in short yardage and obvious rushing downs, and Philips spells Oliver when needed.
  8. Ah gotcha...I think one will rotate with Oliver, either Phillips or Settle.
  9. I mean if we sign Jordan, Star is 100% a June 1st cut IMHO.
  10. I mean, I think both Jordan and Shaq would be good signings. Shaq is good against the run (a weakness we have) and Jordan was a strong contributor here in his rotation. Would help fortify our DL for sure.
  11. Normally, that would be interesting points to add into decision...but in this case...None of that matters. All that matters is where Watson wants to go, he has 100% absolute power in where he goes because of his no trade clause. So these details like Hurts being from Houston are irrelevant in the final decision. Only way Watson goes to Philly is if he wants to go to Philly.
  12. 3 years, $51M...top of the market deal for DE this free agency...playing for a team that is firmly cemented in the basement of their own division currently. But yeah, tell everyone its not about the money.
  13. Or he prioritized his family and not wanting to move and calling Washington home. Family is bigger than football, so I get it from that perspective.
  14. When you remember that the Jaguars spent $100M on Christian Kirk and Zay Jones in free agency
  15. For me, Fournette would be an excellent signing. That being said, I also really like swinging a trade for Barkley as well, only 7.1M against the cap. Low risk, high reward kind of move. But only if the trade compensation is reasonable too, like say Moss and a mid round pick or something.
  16. Yeah, from a winning perspective this is stupid. But hey man, if a dudes heart is into a city, I get it. Maybe him and his family just didn't want to move or something, and rather stay were they felt home was. I can't hate on anyone for that. I mean its clearly his attachment to staying there since the compensation was the same. I got no issue with that, now the questions is do we make another move at RB after they allegedly pursued CMC and then signed JD when that wasn't moving forward. Do they pursue Barkley, Fournette, Patterson? Draft someone? I doubt they stand pat, they seem to be ready to move on from Moss at least. Disagree. He would have been a great fit here. Not the end all be all to a SB by any means, but this signing was going to be a nice piece to the offense with not only being an excellent receiver out of the backfield, but also good in pass protection. That is not an easy combo to replicate.
  17. Yeah, deals were only verbal, couldn't actually sign yet. Its who Gregory changed his mind and went to Denver too.
  18. I don't think thats fair about that statement, I mean he was what was an entrenched starter. Its a pretty big deal that they are shopping for Watson. If he had been pissy in hi statement I would agree with you, but he was nothing but professional and grateful to the city and fans. So I am cool with it.
  19. I hear what you’re saying, but I don’t buy that. Atlanta isn’t going to essentially throw Matt Ryan under the bus to just play games with Saints and Panthers, he’s one of that organizations greatest players ever. Additionally, there is no incentive to do that anyway because Houston already set the price, this isn’t a bidding war. Teams either meet the price or don’t, and it’s because Watson has all the power here with his no trade clause. In fact, giving up “more” hurts Watsons interest in said team as well because that’s the team he’s considering going to. Teams are laying offers that meet the Houston criteria in compensation, and then Watson will pick from amongst that do. Let’s say Watson chooses Saints…Panthers coming back offering 5 first rounders wouldn’t change anything because Watson already declined to go there, giving Houston more compensation changes nothing. So there is just no “game” for the Falcons to play here in affecting Panthers or Saints. So, I can’t find any plausible scenario where Atlanta isn’t legitimately pursuing Watson or didn’t actually make an agreed upon trade offer to meet with Watson.
  20. They have already done the math because they were not allowed to meet with Watson unless a trade was already agreed upon by Atlanta and Houston prior to the meeting. Haha that made me literally laugh out loud
  21. I mean, if I’m being honest, this was a pretty good and respectable statement by Baker. I’m sure he’s getting bombarded right now with the news Browns are meeting with Watson. So this came across respectable, professional, and well spoken in my book. I think a change of scenery could be good for him and there are some places he can go, if he is traded, where he can maybe bounce back as well. Like Niners, Saints, or Colts.
  22. Calling it now: He’s gonna go to the Falcons. Allen Robinson and Will Fuller are going to join him there. Deal will be done tomorrow or Thursday.
  23. Ha, my bad I didn't see it until now.
