More information clearly showing that Edmunds is not remotely close to the bad player half this board screams that he is. I have said it 100 times now, the vast majority of what fans here hate about Edmunds has less to do with Edmunds the player as it does with how we use Edmunds a lot of the time. Which is often like a 3rd shallow safety out there utilizing and trusting his athleticism to get back to the ball after dropping back on the snap. Edmunds is also 5th in total tackles since entering the NFL, and thats taking into consideration he played hurt most of 2020.

If we trade up to 7, I don't envision us holding onto our 2nd rounder this year in the process. Its going to cost a lot to go from 25 to 7. Would love to get Sauce, but I don't envision Beane paying what it will take to get to 7 or anywhere inside the top 10. I think our sweetspot for a trade up doesn't begin until probably Houstons second first round pick at 13 personally. But that could be a spot they go after Sauce or Stingley if either slides out of the top 10.

Thanks again for a great draft @Virgil You da man!

I think he has off the ball LB potential with his athleticism at the next level too though. And with how we use Edmunds he could slide into there until they brought in a more traditional MLB.
-
Yeah I wouldn’t hate it, no rush for him to get on the field either and with his athleticism would be a great Edmunds replacement if we don’t resign him
-
While I think Ojabo still has a good shot at being taken by Baltimore at 14, if he is still on the board at 25 I do wonder if Beane could pull the trigger if he stays BPA.

Well with a first round pick, we are taking a gamble on a rookie starter in most cases. So, taking a guy who is graded in the top 3 overall in this draft at 19 is a pretty good way to start.

With the 24th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys take: Nakobe Dean, LB Georgia After sprinting to the podium, we are ecstatic to land the leader of the dominant Georgia defense here to come into our ascending defense. We gave strong consideration to Linderbaum here, but only if Dean was off the board. I mean we are the Dallas Cowboys and we don't do boring and landed what we believe to be the best LB in this draft. We are salivating about the thought of Dean and Parsons paired up on the field and wreaking havoc for years to come. Having Dean out there with Parsons will allow us to line Parsons up in multiple spots as well to keep the opponents frustrated and guessing. We see him as the perfect addition to our team and defense. Now on the clock is @MrEpsYtownand the New Orleans Saints with the 25th pick after making a trade earlier with the Buffalo Bills.

All good brother, and I get your thinking and I think LT and WR are definitely higher up on their targets too. I just think if Hamilton slides to 19 he is everyones BPA on the board. And Poyer is a great safety, the only reason I don't think he is realistic to the Saints without getting extra draft compensation in this particular scenario is that he is 31 and on last year of his deal. So I think the Saints won't see value there because they cant afford to pay him and with them not really be close to a SB run at the moment, there isn't a lot of incentive to pay him with their cap issues. So he would likely be a one year and done player who leaves in FA in this particular scenario. Now Poyer could have a lot of trade value to a team in contention that needs a safety, I just think the Saints situation would dictate they just take Hamilton there unless we gave them a draft pick too that they desired. Adding a draft pick there I think makes the deal more realistic, although I still think they stay put and take Hamilton most likely just given the immense value of getting Hamilton at 19 vs where he is projected to go near or in the top 10. Either way, if this trade was real, it would be a great outcome for the Bills to get one of the best players in the draft at 19 and keeping their next picks too.

Im stunned that there are people not on board with the value of getting Hamilton at 19, and without giving up any extra picks. Truthfully, zero percent chance Saints make this trade in real life. They need a Safety, they are not going to trade us Hamilton for Poyer without getting extra picks because they have cap issues. So why pay a 31 year old Safety money they cant afford vs taking what is regarded as a top 3 talent in this draft overall that they can have cheap for the next 4 or 5 years? Saints would sprint to the podium if Hamilton is there at 19. That being said, the trade laid out here would be a massive home run for the Bills. Get the best safety in the draft without having to give up extra picks and have him here under a cheap deal for 4 to 5 years would be too good for Beane to pass up. And I love Poyer and want him to stay, but this is a no brainer slam dunk if we could trade Poyer and 25 to get to take Hamilton.

This. This is an OLD Bills pick.."high motor" guy with unimpressive stats and unimpressive athleticism. I would hate this pick.

You know I was thinking last night...sounds like some of the TSW crowd is coming to LA for the game. Well I live beach front like 10 min from the stadium. So was thinking, maybe I will host a TSW beach day here at my place ahead of the game for anyone who wants to come by. You literally step off my patio on to the beach. I have 3 BBQ's (Gas, Traeger, and Charcoal) so can BBQ it up if we want, then I can smash some of you in Corn Hole and other beach games, and then we head over to the stadium to watch the Bills smash the Rams. My soon to be wife (we get married June 4th) seemed cool with this idea too last night. Once the schedule is confirmed for when this game is, we can revisit this and see if anyone is interested.

This has been beaten to death I would say...but, given you poised it with specific questions and are new here I will participate: Nothing happened to Edmunds, what people dislike the most about him is related to how he is used. He has his flaws, but he is also quite good at what he is asked to do in McD's defense the majority of the time, which is almost like playing as a 3rd safety out there more than an on the ball LB. 4 seasons, 2 Pro Bowls, 5th in the NFL in total tackles since entering the league. I mean, thats a pretty good resume for anyone, let alone a first rounder. So not living up to his first round grade seems like a poor description of him. No he can't rebound to what you expect of him, at least not here, because McD and Frazier are not likely going to change how they use him and that is biggest contributor to what the fans don't like. Its why Edmunds teammates, coaches, Beane, opponents, etc all sing him praises all the time...because he is doing what is being asked of him well, fans just don't like how he is being used then blame it solely on him. He makes mistakes sure, but he is not nearly as bad as your post is making him out to be. Never say never, but I doubt he is traded at all this year. He is the QB of the defense...thats a lot to ask of a rookie, and its the one position outside QB that usually takes the longest to really learn because they need to identify the offense pre snap and make sure everyone is in the right places, recognize audibles, etc. This is our best shot in 30 years at a SB, maybe even ever. Edmunds is worth more to us than what they would get in trade. Side note: If we lose him next year for nothing, still good chance we get a 3rd comp pick for him as we wont have the budget to make a lot of big signings. We can also tag him, and thats assuming Beane didn't just extend him. So unless Beane got a crazy offer, I doubt they see the value in trading him ahead of a major SB run this year. I think they could take a LB in the draft, but I don't think that seals Edmunds fate automatically. I think they let him play this season out and then will see how he does in this revamped D and make a decision if he is worth extending or do they commit to a new direction at that point.
-
Yeah, this was a slam dunk obvious move. I would prefer they extend him early...I have a feeling his price tag is gonna sky rocket this year because I think he has an even better year playing in this revamped DL which has the potential to be dominant.

How they do the schedule has changed in recent years according to the VP that was on Sals show. They said it used to be they start with game 1 and week 1 and go out from there and then changes more happen at the back of the schedule. With the introduction and advancement of technology, they now use computers and tweaking the schedule in the earlier parts of the schedule are easier now than in the past, so changes can happen throughout the schedule more as opposed to predominantly at the back half in the past. However, he did say and my friends said the same about SoFi, with the amount of events coming back in full force right now, concerts, etc that stadiums across the league host and also need to schedule, its more complicated. You can't just shift some teams games because they can't host a home game the next week instead because something else is scheduled already. And I have another friend who has worked at the NFL for years (not in the scheduling department though) who has told me that they often set some of their best draw games first and are more reluctant to change those once set and try and adjust elsewhere first. He told me the goal for the NFL is to get people in front of the TV for said games, which is why up and coming teams might get 1 prime time game because there is no telling if they are still ascending. And a team who has proven to be a winner for a couple season will see more primetime games, especially if the ratings have been good for that team. Then there are teams that are always a big draw, like say the Cowboys because of their on going popularity to love or hate them. Even the VP mentioned how the Bills are must see TV now essentially and proven themselves and will see several national games this year as a result. That the Bills earned it. So my personal opinion between what I have been told by some people and from that interview I watched last night, I think its reasonable to assume some of their important games are probably pretty locked in right now...games like Thanksgiving, Christmas and Opening Day come to mind. I think the 90% mark you used is probably a good barometer. I am also sure they look at teams like Buffalo and Green Bay for prime time late season games for the potential of crazy weather as they said they loved it when we have those snow games or that game like NE last year with all the wind and stuff.
-
Certainly possible. I know my two friends are authentic when they say they were told it was confirmed from their sources. But it doesn't mean their sources are correct or that it cant still change before the announcement. In that interview they said they run new schedules in their software nightly, and things like trades and such can also alter their plans.
