Matt Araiza accused of rape, served with a lawsuit.

No I do not. If he is shown to be innocent then he doesn’t deserve to lose his job because someone else saw an opportunity. -

First, no one is saying he’s innocent. Waiting until the facts are known is not saying someone is innocent. But we live in a country where our rights are we are innocent until proven guilty. But people on the internet would rather ruin a persons life at a moments notice before they even know the facts. It’s honestly not only ignorant but pathetic that people would invest so much time into ruining someone before they even know if they deserve it. -

So you’re comfortable ruining a persons life, condemning him now, before you actually have any real knowledge or facts on whether he’s actually guilty? I mean you literally don’t know squat about this case because literally none of us do. Nobody here has conducted an investigation. So anyone casting judgement now is premature. Not one person here will object to cutting him and seeing him face criminal charges if he’s guilty. But many of us are not going to decide he’s guilty without having literally any info or facts to be able to make a qualified opinion on the matter. -

It’s not. It’s people here seemingly wanting to make Matt guilty of something before all the facts are known have decided to now die on that hill as if consensual sex between a senior in high school and someone in college is comparably the same as violently raping someone against their will. By those standards, I too would also be a victim of “rape” here in CA given I was 17 and sleeping with a girl who was 20 and even turned 21 while we were still hooking up…and she wasn’t even in college, just worked at Sizzler with me. -

Exactly. People keep saying this about they were shocked he wasn’t the first punter taken, but Araiza wasn’t even the top punter on anyones board, and not always even in the top 2. He had real question marks about hang time and accuracy, which are far more important in the NFL than distance. The only reason people were shocked was because he had a cool nickname and was the only punter they heard of, but he wasn’t the best punter in college football. He might end up being the best of the class as he has the most upside, but it was not a surprise he wasn’t the first one picked. -

But you don’t know if Araiza is a victim or a guilty party. So yeah, respectfully disagree, no one here is qualified to decide who the victims are. For example: You realize it’s entirely possible she is both a victim and also falsely accusing Matt of being a party to it. What if she willingly had a sexual encounter of sorts with Matt earlier in the night but was later raped by the other accused people? Then that makes Matt a victim of extortion and her guilty of fraud, even while she may also be a victim of an assault from the other accused parties. Point is, nobody knows enough to decide now who is a victim or not…who is guilty of what. We don’t know a fraction of what even the Bills know, let alone the authorities currently investigating. So we need to pause all the rush to judgements and assumptions until we know more of the facts and evidence of what happened and by who. -

But…you’re assuming Araiza is guilty. Because if he is actually innocent of the gang rape, then she would be a scam artist trying to tie Araiza to a horrendous crime for the purpose of getting money. So his client defending his innocence is going to see her as trying to scam money from Araiza. The issue today, is we don’t know if Matt is involved or guilty of the accusations involving a gang rape. So everyone needs to calm down, no one on this board is qualified to decide who is the victim because no one conducted an investigation here. We need to wait until the results of the full investigation unfold before anyone decides whose lying or who is the victim. The good news is Bills felt good enough after their month long investigation into this to cut Haack and keep Araiza, that alone should give people pause before the rush to judgement. -

Or maybe stop reading headlines and jumping to conclusions about a case you haven't conducted any eyewitness interviews on, done any investigation on, etc. Clearly the Bills know more than you, that doesn't make them immoral, that makes them more informed on the case to form a valid and proper opinion on the matter. -

You don't even know if he is guilty first of all, so stop. Second, I did not say anything whatsoever about the victim. But you do realize that you literally have zero qualifications here to even establish who is a victim and who is not? You haven't done any investigation, conducted any eyewitness interviews, etc. You read a story, and maybe like most only read a headline, and got online and decided to establish who is a victim and who is guilty. So don't come at me with accusations of what I have a problem, because the only thing I have problem with is people jumping to conclusions before they even know the facts. I mean it's possible both her and Araiza are victims even. For example, how do you know that her and Matt didn't have consensual sex earlier in the night before she was raped by the other players after Matt left? I mean there are several eyewitnesses who said Matt wasn't even there when the alleged attack happened, including one of her own friends. Everyone is 100% in support of cutting him and jail time if he is guilty without hesitation. -

I would argue that the Bills are as moral as they get though. No way they stand with a guy if they found anything damning in their investigation. I would confidently say that 0% chance Matt is still on this team if even their investigation was inconclusive. They clearly are confident in what they found. So, I suggest we all wait until we know more and stop assuming the worst given there is evidence here that maybe they know a lot more about it than any of us do. -

Or one could be amazed at the instant social media conviction of people all the the time by other people who don't actually have all the facts or information to even form a proper opinion. You are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, but we as a society lovvvvve to convict in the court of public opinion on social media the moment we get a sliver of a story. There is a lot of evidence here that maybe he isn't as guilty as the rush judgers have made him out to be given the Bills kept him after they investigated the matter and is playing tomorrow still in a meaningless preseason game. -

This doesn't really make sense. He is on the roster and Haack is cut because they did an investigation of their own and clearly felt comfortable that he was not guilty of this accusation. It doesn't have anything to do with draft decisions. If this broke before the draft, he would have definitely gone undrafted until his story played out and proved his innocence and signed somewhere as a UDFA. There are reportedly a lot of witnesses, including one of her own friends who went there with her, that Araiza is innocent and wasn't even in the house at the time of the alleged incident. So clearly the Bills are operating on the information they have, which I assure you is a lot more than any of us know at this stage, that makes them feel comfortable with keeping him on the roster. End of the day, he is a punter. They could have easily cut him and kept Haack or signed a FA punter to handle what will likely be one of the least punting teams in the NFL this year. -

Just more evidence the Bills are comfortable with what they found in regard to their investigation into the matter. So, like I keep saying, people should stop prematurely convicting and reserve opinions and judgement until we know what the Bills believe they know. -

The fact that the Bills, a class act organization with women in leadership and coaching, chose to release their returning punter and keep Araiza after knowing the story and investigating it, tells me there is definitely more they know at this stage. This is why I always say wait to judge after all information is truly known. When Watson's case first broke, I was actually on Watson's side initially as the way it first unfolded felt fishy. Just to find dozens more women come forward. You just never know this early in a story, but the Bills have had a month to research and investigate it and still felt comfortable with not only keeping him around but weathering the "guilty by social media" storm that was inevitably coming. Don't get me wrong, if he is guilty, then he is done and needs to face prison consequences. Just saying, I have a lot of respect for the Bills organization and can't imagine they would have cut Haack if they didn't feel confident in their findings from their own investigation into the matter. -

He actually wasn't the top punter on many teams' boards. Media hype...fan hype...etc in no way equates to actual draft study and research. More teams had Stout as the top punter on the board, not Araiza, and some had him lower than 2. All Araiza was confirmed good at was kicking long, that's not the name of the game in the NFL. John Daily could always hit the golf ball long, but he wasn't as good at the other parts of his game. Araiza got all the hype because there is literally nothing at all exciting about a punter, so when people saw one with a catchy nickname and booming kicks that long, it created a hoopla over him. But punting in the NFL is all about hang time and precision, not distance. The distance is great, but without the other 2 you won't be a Punter very long in the NFL. So given he had several areas to prove himself on and work on, he was not the top punter in the draft, just the most talked about because he was the only one who wasn't boring. He was the most intriguing though, just unproven on if he can deliver hang time and accuracy. -
Could Aaron Donald potentially miss Week 1 due to suspension?

Hahahaha...I wouldn't play me in cornhole or poker or challenge me to a cook off. I would smash Darnold in all of those...if you see him, tell him I said so and let him know I am just down the street if he is dumb enough to try me in those haha. And while you are at it, tell Allen and Diggs to avoid my lobbies on Warzone if they want to live 😂 -

I will wait for the full story before I react or form some sort of judgement. Clearly, if he is guilty of this, he is done and should be done and face criminal charges. But as bad as it looks on the preliminary story, there is still the fact it didn't come out sooner, the Bills may have had prior knowledge and did their own research, and there is not yet a criminal charge...so let's see how this plays out before we decide the outcome. -

First, I don't want him suspended for personal reasons...I don't want to hear the excuses when we smash them opening night. Second, based on Myles, he absolutely deserves a suspension as well. I mean he is one of the strongest men in pro football, if not the strongest, and him using that helmet with all that force as a hammer essentially is a weapon. So...yes, I think this warrants a suspension based on the precedent they set with Myles. But selfishly, I am hoping he doesn't cuz I want to beat the champs in their house to show the hype is real here. -
The importance of a true number one WR

My honest opinion is that Diontae Johnson might be the most underrated WR in the game right now. He is a lot better than people give him credit for. I watched him a lot last year having him in fantasy and I was actually stunned at just how good he really is. Today, I would probably throw him in the top 15. I need to see more before I can feel like he has a top 10 case. In no particular order, here is my top 15. Top 5: Adams, Kupp, Diggs, Chase, Jefferson 6-10: Evans, Hill, Deebo, Hopkins, Lamb 11-15: Metcalf, AJ Brown, Allen, McLaurin, Diontae Johnson I will say though, there are several WR's who also all have cases for that 11-15 range, including Thomas, Amari, Moore, OBJ, etc, etc. -

Not to pile on here, but there isn't any other real interesting convos going on right hahaha. But Hill being one of the top 2 WR's in the NFL is just not accurate, and he more closely mirrors Amari Cooper in production than he does any of the top 5 guys. Do you know how many times Hill has broken 100 yards in a game each of the past 3 seasons? Just 8 games out of those 42 games he has topped 100 yards while playing with Mahomes on one of the most prolific offenses in the NFL. Adams on the other hand, had 8 games in 2021 alone with over 100 yards and averages close to that a season. Like Amari, Hill has s a couple of very big games that make his season total look pretty (yet never as good as Adams totals) and a lot of other games where he doesn't make a huge impact. Case in point, 43% of his yards and 60% of his TD's last year came in just 3 games. And this is par for the course annually with Hill. He had 8 games last year where he had under 65 yards and no TD, most of which were under 50 yards. Adams on the other hand has played in 42 games the last 3 years and has 100 yards or more in 21 of them. Thats literally half the games he has played in. He is consistently a beast throughout the season and that is what he does pretty much every year since becoming a #1 WR. Hopkins is coming off a season where he was ranked 31st in yards per route run, never had a 100 yard game, and only had a 20% target share which was 35th amongst WR's. In other words, he was a far cry from the dominant take over WR he had been when he was easily a top 2 WR in the past. He was still very good in the redzone with 8 TD's, but he didn't have the same impact on the field overall indicative of a top 2 WR. And being 30 and having a PED suspension, there are legit questions now about whether or not physically he can get back to where he was when he was a top 2 WR. His days as a top 2 WR IMHO are behind him. I love DK and wanted the Bills so badly to draft him and we instead took Ford. But, at the end of the day, DK doesn't have the same route tree as the other guys who are in the top 5, even though he is elite at what he does best. Agreed Agree, Kupp is absolutely in the top 2 WR's right now, but he is not wrong on Dhop and Hill, he is actually fairly accurate. Hill is certainly top 10, (where is subjective) but he is not top 5 for reasons I already stated. DHop as I already explained at 30 is now coming off injuries, the worst year of his career, a PED suspension, and has a lot to prove before he can regain top 5 status. For me, top 5 today is pretty clear and probably easily the consensus...and in no particular order: Adams, Kupp, Jefferson, Diggs, and Chase. Former top 5 guys looking to rebound back into the top 5 are Hopkins and Thomas, but both have a lot to prove to get back into those convos. Especially given the talent level of the top 5 today. The next consensus next 5 is more debatable, but I think in no particular order 4 of the guys are Hill, Deebo, Hopkins, and Evans (all in no particular order). That final spot is harder to narrow down as I think several WR's could make a case...guys like K. Allen, AJ Brown, DK Metcalf, Lamb and potentially Michael Thomas if he comes back stong this season. Some young guys could be knocking on that door too who are going to all see significant QB upgrades this season for the first time in their careers...guys like McLaurin, DJ Moore, Sutton, and Jeudy.
