  1. When you remember that the Jaguars spent $100M on Christian Kirk and Zay Jones in free agency
  2. For me, Fournette would be an excellent signing. That being said, I also really like swinging a trade for Barkley as well, only 7.1M against the cap. Low risk, high reward kind of move. But only if the trade compensation is reasonable too, like say Moss and a mid round pick or something.
  3. Yeah, from a winning perspective this is stupid. But hey man, if a dudes heart is into a city, I get it. Maybe him and his family just didn't want to move or something, and rather stay were they felt home was. I can't hate on anyone for that. I mean its clearly his attachment to staying there since the compensation was the same. I got no issue with that, now the questions is do we make another move at RB after they allegedly pursued CMC and then signed JD when that wasn't moving forward. Do they pursue Barkley, Fournette, Patterson? Draft someone? I doubt they stand pat, they seem to be ready to move on from Moss at least. Disagree. He would have been a great fit here. Not the end all be all to a SB by any means, but this signing was going to be a nice piece to the offense with not only being an excellent receiver out of the backfield, but also good in pass protection. That is not an easy combo to replicate.
  4. Yeah, deals were only verbal, couldn't actually sign yet. Its who Gregory changed his mind and went to Denver too.
  5. I don't think thats fair about that statement, I mean he was what was an entrenched starter. Its a pretty big deal that they are shopping for Watson. If he had been pissy in hi statement I would agree with you, but he was nothing but professional and grateful to the city and fans. So I am cool with it.
  6. I hear what you’re saying, but I don’t buy that. Atlanta isn’t going to essentially throw Matt Ryan under the bus to just play games with Saints and Panthers, he’s one of that organizations greatest players ever. Additionally, there is no incentive to do that anyway because Houston already set the price, this isn’t a bidding war. Teams either meet the price or don’t, and it’s because Watson has all the power here with his no trade clause. In fact, giving up “more” hurts Watsons interest in said team as well because that’s the team he’s considering going to. Teams are laying offers that meet the Houston criteria in compensation, and then Watson will pick from amongst that do. Let’s say Watson chooses Saints…Panthers coming back offering 5 first rounders wouldn’t change anything because Watson already declined to go there, giving Houston more compensation changes nothing. So there is just no “game” for the Falcons to play here in affecting Panthers or Saints. So, I can’t find any plausible scenario where Atlanta isn’t legitimately pursuing Watson or didn’t actually make an agreed upon trade offer to meet with Watson.
  7. They have already done the math because they were not allowed to meet with Watson unless a trade was already agreed upon by Atlanta and Houston prior to the meeting. Haha that made me literally laugh out loud
  8. I mean, if I’m being honest, this was a pretty good and respectable statement by Baker. I’m sure he’s getting bombarded right now with the news Browns are meeting with Watson. So this came across respectable, professional, and well spoken in my book. I think a change of scenery could be good for him and there are some places he can go, if he is traded, where he can maybe bounce back as well. Like Niners, Saints, or Colts.
  9. Calling it now: He’s gonna go to the Falcons. Allen Robinson and Will Fuller are going to join him there. Deal will be done tomorrow or Thursday.
  10. Exactly, Tyrod is a good safety stop gap for next season when the Giants most likely move on from Daniel Jones and draft their next QB. I mean Jones is going to have to have a pretty good season to keep the Giants from looking at a QB next draft. And just seems unlikely he will have a good enough season to make them build around him.
  11. Yeah good for him for putting in the work to get paid in FA like this...happy for him, but as a fan of football I am stunned by how much he got the Jags to pay him. Then again, given how much they over paid Kirk, its not that much of a shock to see the Jags do this.
  12. This is a solid pickup for them IMHO.
  13. LMAO...never thought I would see someone pay this guy this much to play football for 3 years 🤣 LMAO...Already catching shade too lmao...
  14. As long as we use him, which I think we will, this could be an excellent addition to the team. He’s a great blocker and major receiving weapon. To me this also signals the end of Moss in Buffalo. I think he will get traded at some point.
  15. Levi is a lot better than a lot of the foolish takes on this board. He won’t be easy to just replace with a rookie. Id much rather sign a vet and then draft a guy early as well.
  16. Damn! We should have kept him at that price, wow. Huge CB hole now with Tre coming off injury. Hope we sign someone competent and don’t just bank solely on rookies.
  17. The most confusing thing to me about this thread is why you think he deserves a 333% annual pay raise? What did he do last year that not only makes him worth a 3 year commitment, but also a 333% pay raise? If you had said sign him back for depth at the same rate for 1 season, maybe. But to pay him $5M per year after paying him $1.5M last year makes absolutely no sense, let alone for 3 years.
  18. I mean we have 3 picks in the first 2 rounds of the past two drafts invested at DE. Makes sense they plan to get them on the field more. I still think they will add a DE if the right one is there for the right price. I mean they already were in on Ogbah supposedly showing interest in a DE. So I won’t rule out Chandler or Hunter yet as there has been reports we have looked into both.
  19. I’d rather get Barkley than CMC. One year left in his deal, only a $7M cap hit. Pair him with JD and watch out. Trade Moss and Beasley and our 4th to NY for Barkley. Moss gives them a potential starter who knows Dabolls offense. Beasley gives them a needed safety blanket to help evaluate Jones that also knows Dabolls offense and comes off the books next year. Salaries we send over basically cover what we pay Barkley.
  20. That would increase compensation Minny would want in trade too though. While I’d love to land him, I still think it’s probably unlikely because of the combo of cost to acquire and cap hit. But I’m hoping Beane works his magic here
  21. Why? He’s worthy of that trade compensation for sure. 33 sacks in his last 35 games. It’s how we afford his contract that is the only concern for me
  22. But see this is a flawed analysis. What you hate is how Edmunds is used. He isn’t used as a penetrating LB, he used almost like a 3rd safety out there. People want to see these splash plays behind the LOS, but that’s just not how we frequently use him.
