  1. The he is "average" at everything is being overly exaggerated and IMHO a poor description of him as a player. He has 3 down back potential at the next level, is faster than the RB's on our roster, and can catch out of the backfield. I am not advocating for him, but the reality is this is also Devins last year on his contract, if we aren't sold on Devin long term to retain him, someone like Spiller could be an attractive replacement, especially if we can get him in the 3rd. Ive seen him going all over the place between 2nd and 3rd rounds in mocks. Personally, I don't think Spiller would come into play unless we were in the 3rd round and could steal him there. Maybe they pull the trigger on a Hall or Walker if they are there in the 2nd, just gonna depend on who Beane has as his BPA when we are on the clock. Plus, there are some interesting prospects we can likely nab in 3rd or 4th if Beane wants to add a back this year.
  2. Question mark on when he will be ready, and how long to find his form. And sorry, we don’t have any CB depth, the guys behind Dane aren’t worthy of starting and will struggle to even make the roster.
  3. Literally no one is saying that, at least I haven’t seen anyone say that. You are however saying offense no matter what, the rest of us are saying CB is our biggest need, and a first round CB makes sense if the right one is there. I mean I’ve literally said this to you several times now, but you keep falsely insisting the people in favor of a CB wanna us to take one no matter what, which I haven’t seen anyone say that other than you. Our pick will be BPA, so who we take will largely depend on how the draft falls. I mean even what you just agreed with Bill on I already said to you earlier too lol.
  4. There is no depth chart, what part of that alludes you? There is Dane Jackson, that’s it. Tre is a question mark, we need to add 2 corners.
  5. Oh yeah, TE is def a possibility, I was just referencing we wouldn’t take one early at like 25 as someone else suggested They also met with Troy Anderson, LB.
  6. I mean I assume their interest in Hamilton would be to eventually replace Poyer either this year (via trade) or next when he is a FA. I am not saying we will or should do this, just commenting on some of the stuff floating around. But, then again, its impossible to trust any talk at this stage, because even if true could change many times before draft night. But they have met with Kyle and some rumblings we might be looking to move up too. As far as this year goes, I mean I think we are a better team with the duo of Poyer and Hyde just off how long they have been together and how well they play off each other. But with Poyer on the last year of his deal and all the money being spent on the roster tying up cap space, I can see why they might have interest in finding a younger and cheaper option moving forward. Especially with so many other key players deals coming due soon like Edmunds, Oliver, Knox, Devin, Davis, etc. And if they feel Hamilton is a generational talent they can snag for the future, thats something I can see Beane making a move for.
  7. I think there is real interest in moving up for Kyle if he slips outside the top 10, especially if he slips in to the teens. And of course there is talk he might slip to double digits, even the teens. Personally, I am still skeptical he does slip that far, but if he did then I can see Beane trying to find a trade partner for the right trade to go get him.
  8. I hope it has something to do with us signing a corner capable of starting. I would prefer not heading into a draft with such a glaring hole.
  9. Your response here is your what I don’t understand about the few posters here against taking a CB in the first. Why does everyone that doesn’t want to take a CB in the first just assume or imply that anyone else here is suggesting we take a CB no matter what? We all are saying BPA and know Beane will go BPA. We are simply saying it’s 100% obvious that CB it’s our biggest hole, so yes, a CB in the first makes sense IF there is one there worth the pick.
  10. Bottom line: Beane will go BPA. And he may move up for a targeted player. Corner in the first will 100% depend on how the draft falls because Beane won’t reach for need at 25. And if there is someone he covets at any position, we know he’s not afraid to make a move to get him. So what we do, as usual, will absolutely be dependent on how it falls. But the argument that CB isn’t the biggest need is inaccurate. Biggest need doesn’t automatically mean it will be the first pick either. But it’s literally undeniable that our weakest position on the team TODAY is CB right now.
  11. I would be that everyone agrees that if we sign a starting worthy corner before the draft that changes everything. This convo is about the current make up of the roster. Keep in mind, we don’t have any reserve corners either worthy of starting. We need more than 1 corner.
  12. Again neither I or anybody else has said anything remotely close to what you’re implying. You literally keep making up false narratives in like every
  13. Literally nobody has said any of what you just said everyone’s saying. Lmao
  14. Yet our vaunted passing defense got abused 2 years in a row in the post season to send us home. Meanwhile our offense scored 41.5 points per game. But keep telling me how the offense is the problem 🙄
  15. First off, no one’s arguing, we are simply discussing something. Why were the Bengals in the Super Bowl? Because they shut down the Chiefs offense in the 2nd half. Rams defense came up big to end the SB too, and coverage took the receivers away so they could get the big sacks. Niners shut down Dallas and Green Bay’s offense too and almost made the SB with Jimmy G as their QB for second time in 3 years, and might have made it had Tarrt not dropped that gimme Int in the 4th. Chiefs got blown up by Bucs defense in the previous SB. Vaunted Rams offense was held to 3 points in the SB against the Pats. Highest scoring offense in NFL history was blown out 43-8 in the Broncos vs Seahawks SB. Previous highest scoring offense in NFL history went undefeated and lost scoring in the teens in the Pats vs Giants SB. Greatest show on turf had their offense slowed down and lost to the Pats in the SB. I mean I could keep going with endless of examples that factually refute this notion you can’t slow down the top offenses. We averaged 41.5 points per game in the playoffs this year. We were sent home because we gave up 42 points in the last game including 17 points in less than 3 minutes. And you don’t think having Tre White against the Chiefs would have made a difference in that game? Really?
  16. What about the 64 yard TD to Hill before that that out us behind again with just over a minute left to play needing a TD? Or the drive in OT? We gave up 42 points and 17 points in under 3 minutes to end game. We scored 36 points…who was worse? Clearly the defense again Also, the majority of the best WRs in football were not taken in the first round. Hill, Adam’s, Diggs, Kupp (arguably 4 of the top 5 playing), Deebo, Metcalf, AJ Brown we’re all taken in other rounds. Not to mention top end WRs like Keenan Allen, McLaurin and so many more. This notion we need a first round WR (when we have one the best WR corps in the league) is really not based on historical data. And we all know our top flight D last year statistically was padded through and easy schedule. They didn’t always look so top flight against the better offenses we faced. And now we don’t have our two starting corners from that defense either to start the year potentially.
  17. Who said anything about reaching? Why do people just jump to "reaching" when someone suggests it would be good to take a CB in the first round? Literally no one has said that what so ever, nor does anyone expect Beane to reach. This thread is not about should we "reach" its about whether we should take a CB if the right one is there. And you cant stand the argument that CB is a bigger need than WR? Really? No disrespect, but how does that make any sense today with the roster the way it is? Diggs, Davis, and McKenzie here 2 or more years still. Crowder locking down a spot this year too. But at CB we don't have a single starter...just last years backup being forced to start because Levi left. And Tre, while an all pro player, is a question mark on when he will be back and how he will play once back. Plus we have no backups behind them either. But you hate this argument that CB is a bigger need? I really dont get that, I mean we averaged 41.5 points in the playoffs and lost on defense. I mean look what we are facing this year...just in our division, who is covering Hill and Waddle? Not mention the gauntlet that is the AFC West, Titans Duo of Woods and AJ Brown (another nemesis of ours), Bengals gauntlet of receivers, etc. So while no one expects Beane to reach, taking a CB in the first absolutely makes sense if there is one there they feel is the right guy.
  18. I literally didn't say any of those things. Josh is setup to succeed, they improved the OL, brought in a dangerous slot weapon in Crowder, extended Diggs, added OJ Howard. I mean you are delusional if you don't think the offense has been upgraded this year already, an offense that averaged 41.5 points in the playoffs and still got bounced. And we upgraded our pass rush in Miller, but we are MISSING our TWO starting corners from last year. We have no starters on our roster ready for week 1. We have a BACKUP CB we HOPE can be relied upon to start even though he was absued by the Chiefs in the playoffs last year. We have an all pro recovering from a bad injury that may not have him ready to start the season, and even if he is, could take part of or even all of the season to rebound back to his previous form. Again, you absolutely incorrect that CB isn't a bigger need than something on offense. We will absolutely draft some offense, and we could round 1. Beane will stay true to his BPA I expect, so if there is not a corner they covet at 25, he wont reach and he will take another position. But, to say CB is not the biggest need is beyond ridiculous.
  19. I am sorry, but here is absolutely no truth to the statement that we lost that game because our offense wasn't good enough. Its just that simple. Josh Allen averaged 318.5 yards passing, 67 yards rushing, 4.5 TDs, and no interceptions in 2 playoff games. Our offense was fantastic. This notion that you somehow expect the offense to be perfect with your "four punts" comment is unrealistic, and that was LARGE in part to our play calling in the first half by Daboll which was terrible, not because of personnel. We put up 36 points and lost, that is more than enough. And I don't want to hear about how our defense is just going to struggle because we are facing the best QB in the league. Want to know why that is total nonsense to me: 2020 - Chiefs offense had their way with Bills defense in the AFCCG just to go onto the SB and see the Bucs defense shut them down and win the SB. 2021 - Chiefs offense again had their way with the Bills defense in the 2nd round of the playoffs just to go on to the AFCCG and get completely shut down in the 2nd half by the Bengals defense. I mean its literally defense that has bounced the Chiefs from the playoffs despite being SB favorites both years...but only after that same Chiefs team trounced the Bills defense both years. So I don't want to hear from anyone about how our offense, that averaged 41.5 points in the playoffs, somehow wasn't good enough to get to the SB. Especially when our defense gave up 42 points to the Chiefs and 17 points in the final 3 minutes of that playoff game. Which included a 64 yard TD pass to Hill with just over a minute left in the game as he waved goodbye to everyone he was running past with ease. Which included giving up a FG with 13 seconds left in the game. Which included giving up an opening TD drive in OT to lose the game. Defense is absolutely the reason we did not advance to the SB, that isn't an opinion, its absolute fact Yet this fabled Chiefs offense that any defense will "struggle against" supposedly was shutdown and bounced from the playoffs a week later thanks to defense, just like the SB the year before. I am not saying we will absolutely take a CB in the first...I said it before, its going to be BPA and I do not expect Beane to reach. So if a player of another position is clearly the BPA on Beanes board, I expect he will take that person, as he should. But, there is no debate that the biggest hole on this team and the thinnest position on the whole roster is starting CB right now.
  20. OJ Howard on a 1 year deal. Knox future here is uncertain. The better Knox does, the more expensive keeping him will be after this season. With the big money being shelled out Allen, Miller, Diggs, White, and others extensions...and more contracts coming due for Poyer, Edmunds, Oliver, Knox, Devin, Davis, etc...we are not going to be able to keep everyone. Who gets kept and who leaves in FA or gets traded before that are all a mystery today. So I don't think its out of the question they could take a TE, although I am skeptical they would take one early THIS year given we are set with OJ and Knox this season with bigger needs or positions that are a lot thinner on the depth chart. Just saying its not impossible if they are concerned about being able to afford to keep Knox after this season.
  21. Why did we lose in the playoffs? Defense couldn't stop KC at all. Offense was a juggernaught...defense was not. You are wrong. Sorry, just facts.
  22. I think if the Bills have any interest in someone like Skyy its going to be as someone they could get in the 2nd either staying put or trading up. I know a lot of people here think this guy will go early, but he is the definition of a guy that lasts longer than the mocks think. There are a lot of WR's who have the potential to before our pick in the 2nd round, and many of them won't. I seriously doubt Skyy would be the BPA on Beane's board at 25, and WR is definitely not a need this season in terms of having to reach at 25 considering our top 3 are set in Diggs, Davis, and Crowder in the slot. So if Skyy isn't the BPA at 25, no chance we take him there. And looking at all kinds of mocks, including our own TSW, I just can't see any way what so ever Skyy ends up as the BPA when we are on the clock at 25. I like him, and no issue taking him, just saying the odds of him being in play at 25 seem pretty low to me. Now in the 2nd, absolutely I can see Beane pulling the trigger on him, maybe even moving up if they like him enough. I am only saying its not realistic at 25 IMHO.
  23. Yet in the playoffs against the Chiefs they couldn’t keep up with the speed of the Chiefs. And now our all pro CB may not be here to start the season, or even be himself most the season. And Levi who is better than Dane is gone. So we have our THRID CB from last year as our only current “starter” and we don’t have either of our starters from last year. Meanwhile, Bates was brought back who stabilized our line last year and and we added Saffold. CB is BY FAR our current weakest position on the roster. If you can’t see that, then I don’t know what to tell you. By no means should they reach for a CB, that’s why I said in my first post it depends how the draft falls. If one isn’t there then I think they will certainly take one in the 2nd. And if one isn’t there in the 2nd then it would shock me to see them go back to back in those mid rounds. And I think it’s very possible we draft 2 in the first four or five rounds because it’s the shallowest position on this roster too.
  24. First of all, Tre is not back and we don’t know when he will be back. And once he’s back, he may not get back to form for a while, maybe the whole year. Second, Dane filled in ok, but to bank on him as a starter, and possibly the number 1 starter if Tre misses part of the season, is a lot to ask. Maybe you missed it, but Dolphins have probably the fastest offense in the NFL right now and are in our division. The AFC west is loaded. Titans and Colts made moves. Bengals and Ravens are tough. To enter the season with ONE starting corner, one whose been solid but not great, is going to be a problem. Bottom line…if you don’t think CB is our current biggest need on this team then you don’t really know much about this team.
