There is a LOT of context missing here. First half, he didn't run much...halftime score 10-10. Second half, both the OC (designed runs) and Josh (improvised plays) start using his legs more...21 unanswered points. And lets not forget, 2 of our RB's put the ball on the ground and committed 2 turnovers too this game. Ideally they don't want to run Josh more than they have to, but at the end of the day, its part of what makes Josh unstoppable, and when the team needed to make sure we were doing everything we could to win that game, Josh running got more involved. And that is how it should be. So moving forward, I don't expect to see Josh running a ton early in games if the offense is clicking without it. But in tougher/important games, games that are close, or games the offense is on point, expect to see Josh's competitive nature come out and see him run and without caution as well as Dorsey utilize those talents to make sure we keep moving the sticks.

I loved bringing Jordan back, but man this is short changing Oliver who was a beast last night too while in the game. Its not always about the player, its about the scheme and fit. And for whatever reason, Jordan is a perfect fit in our D compared to how he fit with his other stops. Glad he is here and hope he stays long after this season.

Found out after the game my wife is preggos with our first baby after just getting married this summer! We just started trying to, and she wasn't even supposed to take a test for like 12 more days but she was feeling lucky after the big win and took one anyway! This is gonna be one amazing year! Are you in every thread to be negative? Agreed on all accounts. For example...Kareem Hunt fumbled his first carry after never fumbling a ball in college. It means nothing really, doesn't change his potential. Now if he goes on to have a fumbling problem, that's a different story.

Everyone is giving all the credit to Von Miller and overlooking the biggest upgrade on the team was the 3 DT's we brought in with Jones, Phillips and Settle. Our interior DL wreaked havoc all night, including 2 sacks by Phillips. Von has been amazing, and an amazing start, but don't underestimate what a massive difference a defense looks like when you dominate in the trenches inside. Bahahaha, this got me man, kudos!

Again, playing WR here is more complicated than playing WR for the Rams, all our players have said this. Between our highly complicated offense and the added dimension of how much our QB improvises on the fly, its not the same thing as walking into a team with a traditional pocket passer. Second, you again are presuming he is healthy and close to what he was, that is not the most plausible scenario though. Sure it's possible, but the more common scenario is that OBJ won't get back to close to where he was until next season. It takes time to over come not only the physical side of things once back on the field, but also the mental. Again, not against signing him, I am just talking about how likely it is. And if our receivers are healthy and playing well, I think its more likely OBJ signs back with the Rams where he will also have a bigger role.

I get that, but who do you take snaps away from to get him on the field? Not Diggs or Davis, and we are 3 deep at slot as it is with rave reviews coming out on both McKenzie and Shakir and still having Crowder too. If those guys are producing and performing well from the slot, do we really want to take them off the field for a guy coming off an ACL who doesn't know the offense yet? Josh Allen plays a LOT of improvisation on the field, that is harder to walk in and adapt to because the QB needs to know the WR and what he is going to do and vice versa. Like I said in another reply, I am not against signing him, I am just not sure it makes a lot of football sense for him or us, especially since he could have a bigger role on the reigning SB Champs he just played with.

Ah, I had thought it was an ACL. Achilles I would grade as worse in terms of coming back to form from, but ACL's can also take players until their 2nd season back to fully recover from. Even our own Tre White is no guarantee to be his old self this season which is why I like having more depth a CB this year too. So for OBJ, I still say its 100% going to come down to a football decision, not a locker room concern as I don't really think anyone across the NFL really has that concern for him anymore. And I am not sure he will make football sense unless we have some injuries. I mean who do you take snaps away from? Not Diggs or Davis, and we are deep at slot with McKenzie, Shakir, and Crowder. I guess they could cut someone like Crowder, but still, you have McKenzie and Shakir that have been garnering rave reviews from everyone on the team that still will be there for those snaps. OBJ will also likely get more snaps if he goes back to Rams having already been there, knowing the system, and being able to probably be the #3 guy right away behind Kupp and Robinson. So while I would not be against signing him, I just don't see it making a lot of sense for either side unless we are dealing with some injuries.

I think its pretty safe to say its time to put an end to the OBJ is a locker room issue. He hasn't had a single incident since NY, and even then, we don't know if it was more over blown stuff like Diggs in Minnesota was or if he was just that much of a problem. But players in Cleveland talked about what a great teammate he was and same with the Rams. Signing OBJ or not has literally 0% to do with if he is a good locker room fit, he clearly isn't going to be a problem. Why people keep talking about it is puzzling, it is literally not part of the equation deciding on signing him or not. The only real question is does signing OBJ make football sense between his injury recovery (OJ Howard still struggling to find his athletic gifts again and his torn ACL was before OBJ's) and roster make up. Davis looks poised for a monster breakout, and we have 3 guys who look like they can be great at slot with Josh already. So by the time OBJ is ready, if we don't have injury issues, it may not make sense to bring in a guy fresh off a torn ACL who doesn't know our offense and doesn't have any experience with Josh.

Welp, now we know why Beane freed up some cap space, and love this move! I said earlier in the offseason that I hoped they signed his extension before the season happens to avoid driving his price too high out of range if he had a big season. Personally, I think Knox statistically may not see a huge bump in production this year, but that won't devalue who he is to the team or his talents. And I only say that because this roster is loaded with players who will be, and should be, touching the football and has a QB who spreads the ball around. Davis IMO might even lead the team in yards and TD's this year over Diggs, I think he will be that involved. Then we got a renewed running game, a solid pass catcher RB in Devin/Moss with a pass catching specialist in Cook, to go along with likely more rush attempts too. Then we have 3 slot guys who all should see snaps in McKenzie, Shakir, and Crowder. There is just one football, so I think 500-600 yards and 6-10 TD's is a reasonable expectation again this year. He absolutely has the capability of exceeding that, just think much more than that will be tough with how many weapons we have.

I mean it's a little pointless to definitively say one is better than the other considering they don't really play from the same spot at WR consistently. That being said, Kupp put up what was one of the greatest seasons the NFL has seen from a WR last year, so it's going to be a hard sell to say anyone in the NFL is unquestionably better than him right now. If they switched places last year, it's a lot harder to say DIggs for sure has the same season or better than Kupp did in LA than it is to say Kupp for sure has the same season or better in Buffalo than Diggs did. And that's simply because the season Kupp had statistically is among the all time greatest seasons and just a harder achievement, where as Diggs season was just a season any good WR could achieve statistically. But end of the day, these 2 guys are both unquestionably top 5 in the NFL, who is ahead or behind the other in that top 5 is pretty irrelevant.

Hard disagree on this one. People like to just remember the most recent. But the early days of the Pats, Tom was a game manager with scrubs for offensive weapons to work with and they still won 3 Super Bowls in 4 years. BB took a weak and depleted roster and a noodle arm rookie QB and got them to the playoffs and had them contending for the divisional crown in a season they weren’t even supposed to be a .500 team. BB is a terrible GM lately, there is no hiding from the draft record the past 5 seasons. But the dude is probably the greatest coach to ever live. BB and Tom elevated each other’s careers. One wasn’t only the result of the other. People always want to give just one of them credit, which is puzzling. They are both the GOATS and both have proven it over and over again respectively.

I mean the only reason that looks that way is because 4 of the 5 starters not starting on another team is because they haven't chosen to sign with another team yet. All 4 of those guys could be signed as a starter for many teams across the NFL right now, but they are either contemplating retirement or just waiting for the right opportunity to lure them back to the field. I mean you answered your own question in your very first sentence, so not sure how you can remain "surprised" as you put it in your last sentence when you say you find it surprising that only one of our 6 starters that departed are currently starting elsewhere. Honestly, not really sure what your point is here in the first place given its pretty obvious why its only 1 out of 6 and not some indication of the quality of players.

People read too much or too little into preseason. Our starting offense literally played one drive all preseason. Anything we did or didn't see with Cook with the backups is practically irrelevant. He was electric and promising in practice when he got time with the starters. No need to over analyze here, there wasn't some conspiracy either to "hide" him. Our starters just didn't play along side him. Just like how too much excitement was made of a couple good plays by Blackshear or a couple short catches by Hodgins against backups and guys who didn't make rosters.

Easily. His projected totals over a full season after the Bucs game would be 1400 yds and 17 TDs. He will break 1200 yards this year and double digit TDs.

I think its more they are being cautious with a player expected to play a relevant role this season. Its just preseason, and he had a good camp and preseason when he played. They already knew what they had him, no need to push him through minor injuries. A lot of these injuries guys get during camp and preseason are ones they could play through if it was during the season or playoffs. But there is no need to risk a bigger injury at this time of year. Different when its a player they aren't sure on, then practice and playing time matter more and can be the difference in making the team and not making the team.

I will say some these things on depth chart don't mean a lot when game day comes around. Plus this depth chart will be fluid and could change more before week 1. For example, Cook is listed 3rd behind Moss, but I bet he out touches Moss. Shakir was always set to be in the slot, but can play outside. So I suspect that Shakir will get snaps outside and the slot and will certainly out snap guys like Kumerow. Once they move Stevenson to IR, won't surprise me to see them move Shakir's listing to his spot either.

That sounds a lot less petty than the way it was written before, and I agree I wish him the best. Hopefully he is back on our PS and can get better at ST to increase his chances of getting on a roster.
