With the 26th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams select: Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss CLICK HERE FOR HIGHLIGHTS Rams had other plans here at 26 not expecting Dart to still be on the board. But the beauty of the draft is in its unpredictability, and with Dart sitting here as the potential heir to Stafford, the opportunity to select him and let him sit and learn from one of the best to ever put on a Rams uniform was just too much to pass up. We love the combination of size and athletic ability that really makes him a modern dual threat type QB. Dart is coming off a college career full of eye popping performances, and we have admired his evolution from raw talent freshman to polished senior where he maintained his aggressive play style while reducing mistakes and turnover-worthy plays. We believe having the time to prepare and develop by learning from a pro like Stafford is only going to increase his potential and ability to reach it, and we couldn't be more excited for his future here with the Rams. @NewEra and the Ravens are now on the clock...

I think its absurd to remove the play personally...however, I would say I do think proponents of the play have a case that on FG/XP kicks, there are way more rules and such on what DL can do to gain leverage. Feels unbalanced or hypocritical to let the offense find ways to use leverage from no carrying players when on defense they cannot use similar techniques to disrupt plays they already have a low chance to disrupt. Here is the complication I think many are missing...players pushing the pile forward happens all over the field. If they want to make it illegal for a player to help push a fellow player who has the ball forward, then that would or should make it illegal anywhere on the field because how is a RB 8 yards up the field getting TE's, WR's, OL etc pushing him and defenders forward towards a first, TD, more yards, etc any different really? So I say let the play stand...if there ends up being a spike in injuries directly related to the play, they can revisit it. But I don't believe that has been the case thus far to where injuries are happing at a higher rate on this play than in general. -

This narrative that keeps getting thrown around here is factually not true: Highest scoring AFC team Regular Season: Buffalo Bills (16th greatest offense in NFL history) Highest scoring AFC team during the post season: Buffalo Bills (29 points per game, only 2 less than regular season and against 3 playoff teams) And this was despite having to play 3 games and against 3 tough defenses...which included the Ravens who had the #1 defense the final 2/3rds of the season after they shifted Hamilton in their defense. And not only that, we scored 29 against a KC team that had not offensively scored 30 the whole season...it would be enough to beat them on any other week the entire season and postseason. Same team that was down 34-0 a week later. Speaking of KC "a week later"...in 3 of the games KC eliminated us in the playoffs...they averaged 35 PPG just to lose one week later all 3 times averaging a pathetic 17 PPG...literally less than half of what they avg against us. No disrespect - But to attribute our failure to get over the hump and past KC more to the offense than the defense is to propose a narrative that is not supported by facts and rooted in beliefs and assumptions that are just not accurate, especially this season. -

Haha awesome switch up I can see him here...for a while he was slated to be the first WR off the board, but I think he slides in the late teens early 20's personally, and Seattle is a where I think he has a strong chance to go.
-
This has to be a troll job hahaha

I get that, and nothing you said is really wrong…but I think it would be a pretty big surprise for him to be the first WR off the board inside the top 10 personally. He might be there when we pick I guess that’s fair, but I still would be surprised if he goes top 10 and is first one off the board personally. Don’t get me wrong, I like him, just highly doubt he’s a top 6 drafted player
-
Emeka isn't very likely to go top 10, this would be like when they took Clelin Ferrel 4th overall...and they don't have those kinds of people in their war room now. I do very much think Jeanty is in play or someone in the trenches. But I would be stunned if it was Emeka. And I know its the "Raiders", but they got real people in charge now not Gruden and a mock drafter at GM like they did when they took Ferrel, who was such a reach Gruden said pre draft they were going to surprise some people at #4.

I would prefer to keep Cook...but Cook and his agent are way overvaluing him. He wants to be paid $15M a year, behind only Saquan and EMC, 2 guys whose league he is not in. But more importantly, Cook is a 2 down RB who becomes a liability on 3rd down because he isn't great at pass pro, which is why a journeyman RB in Ty Johnson has taken over as our 3rd down back. Not to mention, Cook is an unreliable pass catcher, another thing Ty does better than him. And being quite blunt...put Cook on another team where he doesn't have Josh Allen and an elite OL blocking from him, and I don't think he has nearly the same kind of success he has had here. Again...I do like Cook, but IMHO he isn't in the same league as the guys he wants to be paid like, so I don't think we should over pay him to keep him. And with his OL and Josh Allen, we don't need to a high priced RB for this offense to be elite.

Yeah Beane is definitely not done at the position. But, what I think it more likely means is that Beane isn't entering the draft feeling like he has to go WR early. Doesn't mean they wouldn't, which is why they are still meeting with guys expected to go in rounds 1 and 2. If the right guy is there as his BPA when we are on the clock, I have no doubt Beane isn't afraid to pull the trigger. I will say this though...Beane every draft season is pretty spot on in what he says coming into a draft, he does very little misdirection. The fact he said bringing in competition is meaningful, so I think it's probably more likely not until day 3 we will see the Bills make a move at WR. I could easily see us take one in the 4th, or maybe if they haven't already traded up with any of their first 3 picks, they could use some of that extra ammo in rounds 4, 5, and 6 to go get a guy in the 3rd. And this fits Beane's history too where he has guys slated to start and then brings in a mid round guy to develop and for competition (Davis in 4th when we had Diggs and Brown...Shakir in 5th when we signed Crowder for the slot and resigned McKenzie too). Davis and Shakir were drafted as guys to compete and hopefully develop into future starters, which they both did. And a guy I like for us a lot is the one we previously discussed, and that is Thornton maybe as early as the 4th...a guy who brings potential and competition, but more importantly, brings a skill set we lack which is a big vertical threat. Dont get me wrong, I am not against a WR in our first 3 picks in rounds 1 and 2...I am only talking to what I more expect to happen.

While all options I am sure are on the table, I do think we are more likely to stay at 30 or even move up than we are to trade down. We don't have nearly as much turnover and holes to fill this year...so we are not coming in "needing" more picks. This team isn't in a mini retool like last year. We were on the door step of a SB in 2024 with the league MVP. This is about getting over the hump this year, where last year we were in more of a transition year away with more turnover due to age and cap. While we don't have our 3rd again like last year, we do have 2 seconds and 2 4ths as well as 3 5ths. Beane has plenty of ammo, recouping our 3rd isn't important or a need like last year was, especially having 3 picks still in the first 2 rounds. With have tons of ammo in rounds 4-6 to use to move back into round 3 if they really want a pick there as opposed to moving down in an earlier round to get one. To be fair, if there isn't a guy they covet at 30, or if there is several they would take, then a move back is still in play. I just think there will be at least one from DL, DB, or WR groups that will be on the board at 30 that would be worth the pick personally (if not a move up for), so I think staying put or trading up feels more likely this year. -

Oh dont get me wrong, I agree with you on DK, but he has shown to be more to a degree than just the go route guy. But he still does more than just go routes and became a top 15 WR. And I wasn't refuting that 1 trick guys in college more often don't become more than that in the NFL. My main point is that all players are not equal. You have to watch the film, understand how he was used, look at the traits where he is raw at and see if the potential to improve in those areas are there. DK tested incredibly poor in short area agility, this was the concern about him at the next level, could he separate anywhere other than vertical routes. That is not the concern with Thornton, and its an incorrect comparison for those who keep using DK as the example. Thornton isn't coming from that same physical limitation. Watch the video I posted, he shows athletic ability in all areas of the field, not just straight line vertical speed. His tape looks like a guy who was used a certain way and is raw in some others where he can be coached up to be more than just a 1 trick guy. This is very different than DK and reminds me a lot more of BTJ where BTJ also had concerns about whether he could be a true WR1 or just vertical specialist. I am not saying he grades the same as BTJ, saying that he compares more in style to BTJ than DK. He is no lock to be anything obviously, but as a mid round pick I like his potential a lot. And honestly, even if he just became a one trick pony as a major vertical threat, that is something we are missing and would be good value for us as a day 3 pick. If he becomes more than that, then the pick has homerun potential. -

I posted about Thornton way back on page 3 of this thread and posted 2 videos, and this one in particular I suggest you or anyone watch if you want to see and understand more about Thornton. I agree with the person in this video, there are things on his tape that certainly feel like there is untapped potential here to be more than how he was primarily used. And in terms of DK, I def think the bigger factor on where DK went was concerns over his agility scores more than any medical concerns. I can't speak for every team, but I do know from people I know that a couple teams were interested but dropped him down on their boards over concerns about getting open on anything other than a go route. And if we go back to even just last year, people had some concerns even with BTJ on whether or not he was just a one trick vertical threat because of how he was used as well. Not saying Thornton has the same grade coming out as BTJ did, but saying similar things were said about him and DK to where they proved at the next level they were more than that. Me personally...I like the idea of drafting this kid a lot. He is my top overall sleeper pick in this draft. If he gets to us in the 4th, then I would be all for us taking him. Problem is, I am not convinced he gets to us in the 4th. Ironically, a few years ago I had Shakir as my top sleeper pick in the draft and a guy I really wanted. People had him going anywhere from the 2nd to the 5th and I thought we would have to take him in the 3rd to get him and was thrilled when we landed him in the 5th as I didn't even know he was still available as I had missed rounds 3 and 4. So I am hoping its a repeat of Shakir and he does make it to us on day 3. I do wish we had a 3rd rounder still as I would even be good using what would have been our 3rd on him to insure we got him. -
Don't you see you are just actually confirming my point, that players do not always prioritize the most money? I mean, they are literally prioritizing something other than the most money by agreeing to take less money in exchange for security. And Josh Allen was already highly paid, he didn't have to take less money. Greg Rousseau was on a first round rookie deal, he could have played and gone for a lot more money as a FA. Sure, Shakir and Bernard were on day 3 contracts, but they both could have also insisted on more money to sign now than they took. Point is...players don't always make getting the most money the top priority. We just watched 4 guys of our own make something else the priority. I am not disagreeing that more often than not, athletes will prioritize money over winning, but it's not all athletes all the time that was originally stated by another poster.
-
They were different though...Diggs original issue, and why he forced his way out of Buffalo, was over winning...not money, he was already highly paid. Even voided 2 years of his deal in order to pursue winning, had nothing to do with money. The IRONY though is a year later, he clearly prioritized money over winning, and that was my point. I think you are missing the point...let me ask you this...could he have gotten more? Could he have demanded more and still gotten it? The answer to both those questions is unquestionably yes. He took less than he could have taken. Does it mean he signed for cheap? No, but he took less than he could have demanded and would have 100% gotten. He knows it, Beane knows, it and his agent knows that if Allen wanted more from the Bills he would have gotten it. No one said the deal was unfair or cheap.
-
Well it started where I said Diggs and DK situation isn't the same. You were saying their motivations were money...and I countered saying that the irony of Diggs is that his situation wasn't the same when he wanted out of Buffalo. He had several years left on a big extension, he already had the money. He left over fear of not winning a championship. And if you read my other posts, the irony is now a year later, he clearly prioritized money as a FA now for either ego or realizing its his last pay day...because if he really wanted to chase a ring, he could have offered himself to a number of contenders that could use another WR for cheap. But based on what he signed for in NE, he clearly cared less about winning and more about this contract. Which is fine if he did, but its ironic because he could have stayed in Buffalo making more money and still be contending for a title (may have even won one this past year). Maybe you just misunderstood my original post. He definitely gave us a deal, there is no question about that.
-
Josh Allen didn't have to take less. Sure, Bernard and Shakir were on day 3 rookie deals, so I am sure that factored in. But the point is the same...they didn't have to take less, they could have still pushed for a deal now and closer to their market. And if not, waited until they were a FA, plenty of players don't take less for long term security and instead wait until FA and go for top dollar. And Brady, Jordan, and tons of GOATS and greats have all taken less money to help their teams. The guy was claiming all athletes will always take the money over all other factors...and its just not true. Not to mention, lots of FA's have taken less money from a contender than they could have gotten from someone else, especially later in their careers if they havent won a championship yet. So while it may be true that more often than not, money talks...its not 100% by any means.
-
I literally said most do prioritize money in the post you are replying to. I said its not accurate at all to say that none do. Diggs didn't go from Buffalo to NE...you realize that rigth? He agreed to have the last 2 years of his highly paid contract VOIDED to go to Houston, meaning he was 1 and done deal in Houston and a certain FA at 31 years old where he probably wouldn't get the same money he got from Buffalo at 29. So once again...his move on from Buffalo had ZERO to do with money. That is the point. And why did he do it...to chase a ring. So the IRONY now is a year later he chose money over a ring when he had BOTH Money and a chance at a ring in Buffalo. What is so confusing for you about this?
