  1. Im not saying that isn't true...I am saying the only person controlling it is Rodgers himself. Jets and Packers have a deal worked out, the only person holding up the deal is Aaron Rodgers, and where other QB's sign or don't sign has no impact on Aarons personal decision. So the point is, what other QB's are doing around the NFL has no impact on the odds the Jets get Rodgers because it is not in the Jets control, the decision is now squarely on Rodgers shoulders.
  2. In the thread on the signing, there is a very long write up profile on him and it sounds very encouraging. Only has drawn 2 flags in his whole career so far, which brings much needed discipline to the OL. And he has great versatility where he can play G and C, but also lined up in the backfield as well. Write up even referred to him as a guy that Dallas should try and keep. I didn't know much about him prior to reading the write up, but it definitely read well and seems encouraging, like one of those signings we will look back at and say Beane was a wizard again at finding value.
  3. Yeah, obviously a restructure would certainly have to be part of the trade. But I have no doubt Hopkins would do that to play with Allen along side Diggs and have a chance at a ring.
  4. It actually doesn't impact the odds of him to the Jets at all. GB and Jets have already agreed on the trade...its not in the Jets hands. Its all in Rodgers hands, so this move makes no impact on whether Rodgers personally decides to go play for the Jets IMHO. Raiders had not shown any interest or attempts to trade for Rodgers, its really just the Jets. But I do LOVE that Rodgers is already screwing the Jets by lingering on his decision and completely handcuffing them during FA and costing them to miss out on other QB's like Jimmy if he ultimately decides to not go there. Brady told TB the night before FA he was going there, gave them time to handle FA accordingly. Jets are sitting on their hands because the don't know for sure if they will be paying ARod a ton this year or not.
  5. Agreed...while Ekeler would be an exciting add, hard to see Bills being in on him for a couple reasons. One, he wants a trade because he wants a new bigger contract that is probably outside the budget Beane has in mind at RB. Second, we have youth at the position on a rookie deal for 3 more years in Cook who has similar potential to Ekeler, plus we just restructured Hines. So we already have 2 RB's who be receiving weapons for Allen, and combined they cost less than what Ekeler would likely be seeking. Feels like what we need is a more powerful compliment to those guys who can excel in carrying the load in bad weather, short yardage, redzone, etc. Again, Ekeler is a great player, he would be exciting to have in Buffalo, so not knocking him. Just talking about if he would be a realistic trade target for the Bills. So I think we more likely get someone in the draft or sign someone like Jamaal Williams or D'Onta Foreman who will probably cost less and compliment our RB room better.
  6. Thanks for this, didn't know a lot about him, but I really like what I am reading here and definitely excited to see what he can do here. Love his versatility they discussed, but also his discipline. A reduction in dumb a** penalties by the OL kiling drives would be a nice change.
  7. Don't know a ton about him, but I do know we need guard help badly.
  8. Bahahahahaha...so many wanted to argue the cap wasn't real because Saints signed a middle of the pack QB in Carr.
  9. Because if he blows up here, his cost could (and probably likely) be greater than what we paid Diggs. KC didn't keep Tyreek...GB didn't keep Adams...are Bills going to pony up with an expensive roster and pay a WR $27M+ per year or higher if he has establishes himself as top end WR while catching passes from Allen? It would also mean moving on from Diggs and then also giving him a huge bag of money. Would he thrive as a #1 after Diggs is gone for that kind of money? And if he doesn't excel to command a huge contract, trading a first round pick for him would have been an over pay. So for me, its not so cut and dry. Not saying I am against trading for Jeudy, just saying I like a Hopkins trade more. I would be excited if we got Jeudy, this isn't about that. I just prefer taking the better player today in Hopkins for a win now approach, and nabbing a WR to groom early sometime in the next 2 drafts who we can have 4 to 5 years of Allens prime on a rookie contract. I would however be much more comfortable trading Jeudy if the price comes in much cheaper than is being rumored or if it was a player and a mediocre pick. It is trading a first, or trading a 2nd and another pick where I start to like it less than trying to get Hopkins.
  10. Hopkins only missed time with one injury, 2021 though. Prior to that he had missed 2 total games in his entire career and came back and was fully healthy last year. He made a mistake in recovery from that injury that cost him time in 2022, but he has not had an issue staying healthy. And while I get the long term appeal, if Jeudy excels here, I am not sure we would be able to afford to keep him long term. We might, but there are no assurances. Which is why I like risking less on Hopkins and then look to add some youth in the draft we can keep for 4-5 seasons cheap sometime during the next 2 drafts.
  11. It would be $12m after June 1st and $24m next year based on everything I have read. Haven’t seen one source say 10 and 7. So I would say until I see a source confirming it’s much lower, then I think that’s likely incorrect.
  12. You can redo Hopkins deal and make the cap hit palatable. Denver wants at least a first for Juedy, and what happens if he has a big year with Josh? Will he be content with just the 5th year option next year? A first is a lot to trade for a guy that we can’t afford to resign in the next year or two if he breaks out with Allen. And if he doesn’t break out, then we over paid by trading a first. I wouldn’t be upset by any means if we traded for Juedy, just prefer a 2 year deal with Hopkins who can be had cheaper and is still a top 5 WR.
  13. Diggs isn’t going anywhere, these articles are just click bait. He has massive cap hits this year and next. Bills would take a major step back if they traded him losing their best playmaker and chewing up over $40m in dead cap hits the next 2 years.
  14. We can probably get Hopkins for less than Jeudy. So I’d do that.
  15. I wouldn’t trade both, nor would we need to either, just to get Juedy. I wouldn’t rather trade much less and get Hopkins from AZ.
  16. Will be interesting to see what the market is for him, I would imagine it’s stronger than the Henry trade market. UPDATE: Ekeler now granted permission by Chargers to seek trade
  17. Im really hoping for Al-Shaair from SF personally, someone who can do a lot of the things that Edmunds can but cheaper.
  18. I doubt Downs would be the pick if the draft fell the way you had it go. I think it would be Campbell or Antonio personally over downs, or maybe even see us trade down.
  19. What a quality and informative thread OP. *said no one ever*
  20. I only wonder how much longer it’s going to take for the rest of TSW accepts that Bijan isn’t dropping to 27. He has a good chance to go inside the top 10, and I would be surprised if he made it past Philly at 10. So many other people around here still have this delusion there is a good chance that we get him at 27. Is it possible…sure anything is possible. But the odds of it happening are very low.
  21. Yeah, while the Ramsey trade doesn’t scare me, there is no denying adding both Ramsey and Poyer would be a pretty tough secondary.
  22. I didn’t love the size of the Von Miller deal, however, it made more sense. Bills were arguably a pass rush away from a SB, they signed him as a FA, and had Josh Allen to bank on. Miami was not a CB away from a SB, have a cap mess coming as soon as next year, and are banking on Tua, a QB who can’t stay healthy and whose injuries are getting worse. Tua ended his 2022 season on a 4 game losing streak before he got hurt and his mistakes were a big part of those losses. Josh Allen ended his 2021 season setting all kinds of NFL post season records in maybe the best 2 game stretch for a QB in NFL history, but losing to a defensive 13 second blunder and a coin flip. The two are the same in theory, but I think you can see that one does not equal the other.
  23. Tell me you didn’t watch him play without telling me you didn’t watch him play. Not saying we should sign him, that depends on his price tag. But your assessment is way off base. Never heard someone call a 1000+ yard rusher, who only started half the games last year, just a TD machine before.
  24. Jalen Ramsey wouldn't even call last year “the best year of his career”. I mean how you can even say that with a straight face is baffling, especially given you didn’t even watch his games to make such a statement. You are like those people who tell someone that a place they are about to go on vacation to sucks, even though you’ve never been.
