The comparison to pre-fat Karlos Williams makes a lot of sense. As far as being Taiwan Jones level of special teams ace, yeah I wasn't suggesting that he would be as good as Taiwan was as a rookie, but more highlighting the degree that McBeane value ST contributions by carrying someone like Taiwan solely for his ST contributions. And Roschon represents an opportunity to get someone who could both contribute at their designated position and be valuable on special teams. There is a lot of buzz he is rising up draft boards, so I am not sure he gets to us in the 5th. I think he could go anywhere between the 3rd and 5th rounds, so will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Looking at the draft and trying to envision how the early rounds could unfold and who might be targets as we start entering into day 3, there is one guy that keeps standing out to me, and that is RB, Roschon, Johnson from Texas. I already know there are going to be people here whose first response is that he isn't fast enough. He ran fast enough at the combine to silence those concerns, but if anyone is focusing on just that anyway then they are missing the bigger picture with Johsnon who was the backup to Bijan this year. His acceleration is the same as both Bijan and Gibbs, they just have a higher long ball speed. But we already have home run speed in Cook, what we need is that slasher tough runner who can keep moving the chains, and Roschon is all that and more. A former 4 star recruit at QB, converted to RB out of team necessity, he has gone on to excel in just about every way imaginable for a RB. Not only is he is tough runner, he is very good in all the other aspects of being a RB including as a receiver, blocking, and pass protection. He was also the best special teams player for Texas. Everything about this guy has McBeane written all over him. And most people didn't even notice that the Bills took him out to dinner because the Bills took both him and Bijan out together and everyone was so focused on Bijan. So there is established interest here both in the player and the position by Beane and the Bills. We carried a RB in Taiwan for years despite providing no contributions at RB just because of what he brought to ST's. Roschon is a guy who could contribute both as a RB and a ST ace. He is rising up the draft boards as GM's have been salivating at how versatile he is. I've seen a lot of chatter that some GM's even think he might be the most versatile back in the draft. While I am not posting with this based on any "inside" knowledge of the significance of the Bills interest, I do think the fit here is intriguing as a duo with Cook. And based on what I know of Beane and McD, he feels like someone who would be in real consideration as we get into day 3 and on of the draft. We already have our faster home run threat in Cook, Roschon could be that potential compliment to Cook to groom behind Harris this year while also being a valuable ST contributor.

Honestly, this is really the exact way I see it as well. I personally think Addison is the top WR, but I don't necessarily think he will be the first off the board. Our best hope is he gets to around pick 20 and Beane starts hitting the phones. I have a hard time seeing Beane spend what it would take to go higher than that. And there is still a good chance he doesn't last to 20, or that someone else makes a more aggressive offer to trade up to get him than us. Fingers crossed, but I am not very optimistic he will get close enough to our pick where its a cost Beane would be willing to pay.

Agreed, I think that is the time Beane will look to move up, and if the buzz is true and they love Addison, then yes that’s when they start looking at ways to get him. I personally would love to land Addison. My comments about OL were more about if we missed out on the playmakers we wanted and ended up staying out at 27. But I do still think they want to go get a WR and that a trade up if their guy is getting close is possible. Dallas picking ahead of us is a real problem, they could easily go with an offensive playmaker there too, so wouldn’t surprise me at all to see Beane trade up somewhere in the 20’s to get their guy.

That play did happen, and agreed, it was a great play on Revis…but the issue is that it’s still one play. Revis statistically dominated their matchups. In 5 games, Stevie averaged 3.6 Rec for 47 yards with a poor 48% catch rate. This board talks about this play like it was the only play ever surrendered by Revis. This lore that Stevie owned Revis (as someone previously put it) is just not accurate at all and solely based on this one play in a game we didn’t even win. To put it in better context…Stevie literally had more game losing drops than he had amazing TD’s on Revis.

It’s hard not to like Harrison for us. He’s probably the 2nd best pure pass blocking OL in the draft. And it’s no secret we are a high volume pass attack and that’s not likely going to change anytime soon with Josh Allen here. That being said, I still think a WR is probably their preferred target, but like you said it all depends on how the board falls. I could see us going OL if their top playmaker options are gone if said OL is their BPA. And I think Harrison would be in that convo or maybe someone like O’Cyrus falls to us (although I expect him to go before our pick).

I get the concern, but I would add that the season is still 5 months away, and that would 8 months since the alleged incident with Britt. So I am pretty confident a young super star athlete will figure out how to cope with a breakup by then. And if this story is true, it was Josh who seems more likely ready to move on anyway given he had not yet proposed after all these years and then allegedly stepped out on her at least once. So, for me, I have zero concern this is something that is going to affect his play come September.

I will add though…let’s not forget the entire gravity of weight this team shouldered all season. Araiza, Knox’s brother dying, mass shooting, blizzards and deaths, and Hamlin. I mean, there was a lot these guys had to ordeal, with Hamlin being probably the heaviest being it was the closest to the team and had to witness it live on the field. So, even if there is truth to the relationship stuff, it would be completely unfair to say that was the main culprit to affecting Josh Allens play. And quite honestly, the whole team was awful, including our coordinators, not just Allen in that Bengals game.

I’m not one to care about personal life decisions, and even if there is truth to cheating, people don’t know the circumstances that can lead to those decisions. It’s always easy to throw stones until you’re in it. My buddy had never cheated before, but he was in a 8 year relationship that was romantically dead but they still had fun like friends and got along great. But in their final 3 years they slept together twice. This led to an unexpected temptation when he felt a passionate connection with someone else who was also someone who had never cheated or thought she could ever be “the other woman”. Well…those two are married today and have 2 incredible kids are obsessed with each other still today almost a decade later. Just because Josh and Britt posted pics and stuff together doesn’t mean everything was still clicking at home on all cylinders. How many people get together as young as they did and then the fire fizzles and curiosity of exploring what else is out there sinks in. Then you add in the massive amount of temptation that is going to be put in front of someone like him, and things can just happen. If the romance side wasn’t popping for Josh and Britt after being together so long, it’s gonna be nearly impossible for a young star athlete to avoid and resist all the temptation thrown at him. But none of that means any of the rumors are true. It is weird she doesn’t follow him anymore because she 100% did before. But she also has not deleted any of the pics from her IG page that gave him in them. So maybe it’s something they are still working through if something did happen. All that being said…who cares. People deal with loss, it’s part of life. Obsessing over one’s dating life is a waste of time. Doesn’t matter if it did or didn’t affect Josh’s play, those games are over. All that matters now is the next game and that is still 5 months away and I am pretty sure a rich young NFL QB will be over a breakup in 5 months from now. So let them have their privacy

The issue is we already have a young promising player at the slot. Gabe on the outside was a weak spot. And Gabe has a bigger issue…his contract is coming up and I don’t think there is much chance Beane will pay him what he will get in the open market unless he makes a big leap forward. And then there is Diggs who is 30. So outside WR is a more pressing need to get in now so they can get experience before potentially taking over a starting spot from Gave or maybe even Diggs in 2 years. Granted, the slot position is the least proven, but the staff is also pretty high on Shakir too. So I think they are more likely looking for outside help, although I don’t doubt they would take a slot guy if that who was the BPA. As someone who is high on Shakir still, I would still admittedly be pretty excited to see someone like Josh Downs still get picked up. But because I believe in Shakir, my preference is they bring someone in to compete with Gabe and either take over or at least push him.

Eric showed in KC he understands how valuable of a receiver can be out of the backfield, and we believe Johnson can come in and help feel the shoes of departed McKissick. That being said, we don’t see many holes in Johnson’s game and feel he can be a dynamic player for us in all facets of the offense. We also love what he brings to the special teams as well. Thanks bud I also enjoy and love the game of football, its history, its other great players, etc and always have. Manning is a weird one for me...easily one of the greatest REGULAR season QB's of all time, but I am less enamored with his playoff resume. I can never get past his NFL record of 9 one and dones in Indy. Then there is the year he and the Broncos broke all the NFL passing and scoring records and he went on to get blown out by Russel Wilson and Seahawks 43-8 in the Super Bowl. So for me, if I had to pick between say someone like Kurt Warner or Peyton Manning in the playoffs, or even just the Super Bowl, I would not hesitate to take Kurt Warner every time. Manning is without a doubt top 10 all time, but I can never personally get him into my top 5.

I dont disagree, but like I said, if the offensive players they want are off the board at 27 and they don't find a trade down partner, I have no doubt that if Beane's remaining BPA is on the OL he would stick to his board and take them. I don't see Beane reaching for someone else was my point if the BPA on his board was an OL at 27 and they had to say at 27. But I do agree, I think the first 2 picks are most like a weapon of some sort and a defensive player, probably in that order.

I will add in Bijan Robinson to that list if he was to fall to us at 27. I could even seem them possibly making a small trade up to get ahead of say Dallas to get him if he got close enough to us. They have shown and established interest in him as well. It also depends on which WR's they covet and if any of them are on the board too. That being said, I don't think Bijan will reach us and I do think WR is the most plausible pick. I just feel like first round is going to end up being some sort of offensive playmaker either at 27 or a small to reasonable trade up to get either the WR they want or maybe Bijan. I won't totally rule out OL though, I mean if the top playmakers they wanted were gone and the BPA was someone on the OL, I think Beane would take the OL guy and stay true to his board rather than reach elsewhere.

Honestly, there are just players that you have to watch no matter because at any given moment they can do something that no one else is really capable of doing. Guys like Barry Sanders for example, where regardless of it being an insignificant down, critical down, etc he can make an eye popping play that you just don't feel like anyone else can do. Even in the NBA there are guys that were just must watch because they reguarly did things that left you in awe...from all time legends like Jordan, Kobe, etc...to human highlight reels like Vince Carter and Jason "White Chocloate" Willams. For me, Allen is already at that level and entered that category when he went into Minnesota and upset them his rookie year. Yeah I grew up an hour out of SF and my dad was a die hard fan, watched every game they ever played. My dad was obsessed with 2 things...the 49ers, and the TV Show "Dallas", especially JR Ewing. So his only rule was that when either the Niners were on or the show Dallas was on, no one could ask him questions or anything unless it was a commercial and they had to be questions that could be answered with "yes" or "no" 😂 Agreed with the Marino and those guys. But this bolded part is key too. It is without a doubt easier to be a better QB in this era compared to when those guys played. And its not just about not being able to touch the QB, it also has a lot to do with how much less physical DB's can be with receivers. When the QB is getting hit less and receivers are getting releases easier, it just makes things easier. And that was intentional, offense sells tickets, and the NFL wanted higher scoring.
