The ones suspended for a year were gambling on NFL games, the ones suspended for 6 games were not gambling on NFL games and placed bets allowable by the NFL but made the mistake of placing them while inside an NFL facility. Players can gamble on college football and other sports, they just can not place those bets while inside an NFL facility.

Pretty simple answer really...NFL is worth $110 Billion Dollars and its their job to protect that entity. Gambling is a direct threat to the integrity of the game and the viability of the entire league, it is literally the one and only thing they can not be relaxed on. So any player caught gambling is going to get severe and immediate punishment to discourage any other players from doing the same, even before its reached a level of players affecting games to influence their gambling bets. On the other hand, the NFL is not a court of law. It is not their job to put players lives outside the NFL on trial and reach a verdict. Most domestic allegations are just that, allegations without direct evidence. Most often there isn't video evidence supporting and proving an actual violent crime. But the NFL has come down harshly when such cases did have documented evidence like with Ray Rice. People seem to think the NFL is an extension of our judicial system and needs to be involved in every off field issue whether its proven or not proven. And people make mistakes off the field, but those mistakes are not a direct threat to NFL and its viability. Those mistakes don't carry a $100 Billion dollar threat with them. Those mistakes players can atone for and make the personal change to better themselves and be better people moving forward. But if players are caught gambling and rigging games, that vastly hurts the entire league and won't be something that one guy serving a suspension and doing some therapy can repair. Every business in this country is going to punish someone more harshly for conduct threatening the existence of the business over out of work personal matters. NFL is a sports league and business, not a court system.

Seriously...this is the dumbest story line of the offseason. I mean all this ridiculous loathing and forcing a negative angle here when you don't actually know anything is pointless. Just like all the posts about how Diggs is going to get traded that were not only absurd but mathematically impossible...yet that didn't stop all these posters and social media constantly pushing that fake narrative either. Here is an idea...how about you just move on until something real actually comes out from say Diggs or Allen that proves they are on the outs and there is an issue? You guys aren't internet sleuths, so stop trying to decode this like it's a Dan Brown novel with hidden clues to a rift. Or maybe take the actual real things that have been said by Diggs and Allen more seriously...like where Diggs said Allen saved his career and saved his life during this past season. Or when Diggs said during the Thanksgiving game Josh will never know how much he loves him. Or when Allen literally just said Diggs is one of his favorite people on the entire planet. Better yet...go outside and enjoy the real world

So confirmed what happened. When I go to get youtube premium on my iphone, it automatically opens my youtube app on my iphone to go to sign up. And when it does, its $15.99 with just a 1 month free trial an no option for a discount by paying annually. BUT...when I go to my computer and go to youtube on my browser, its only $11.99 a month has a 3 month free trial instead of 1. Plus it has pay annually discount too where on my phone app didn't see a discounted annual option. So actually only costing me $10 a month by just paying annually. Thats a big discount from just signing up through my iphone app, plus got 2 more months free. So I got the first 15 months (year plus 3 free trial months) for $120 compared to $238 for the first 15 months had I just signed up through the apple YouTube app...I mean that is a 50% savings different just based on where you sign...crazy different. Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if someone took him late 2nd or in the 3rd before our pick. I am actually concerned he ends up a KC Chief because he would be a great value add for them there and in a great place for him too. Where he will actually go is a puzzle...some people seem to forget he exists and I don't even see him in their top 15 or even top 20 WR rankings. Then I see others who have him as high as 7 or 8 on the WR draft rankings. Talk he could go in the 2nd-3rd and others talking like he will last until the 5th. It kind of reminds me of Shakir last year...not for the same reasons, just on the wide range of where he could go. There was talk he was a 2nd rounder, and others saw him in 3rd or 4th round. He obviously lasted to us and got him in the 5th. I personally thought back end of 2nd to mid 3rd was where he would probably go, I liked him a lot last year and was stoked when I came back to find us taking him in the 5th! I also badly wanted Woolen in the 2nd (if we had not drafted Elam) and actually didn't think Woolen would last until our pick in the 2nd...so I was actually more stunned to see Woolen on the board still in the 5th too. Most mocks I saw had him as a second rounder leading up to the draft and he was my favorite CB outside the top few guys in the whole draft. I badly wanted Russel Wilson that year he came out and was pounding the table for him in 2nd...then when he was on the board in the 3rd I was like they must be running to the podium to take him...and poof, my hopes are dashed when they call T.J. Graham...and I was like WTF and who who the F is that!? I would have rather drafted TV character TJ Hooker than that micro WR, and we took him over Wilson? UGH those days. Graham had no business going in the 3rd round, and yet it took just one inept franchise to make that mistake...queue the Bills lmao. So sometimes you just never know where these guys are gonna go. I would definitely be comfortable taking Boutte in the 3rd if we don't draft one in the first or second.

Agreed Better: I think we are better at corner...both Elam and Bedford were rookies last year, and Dane Jackson had limited experience as a starter. Then you had Tre hurt still and then not quite himself when he was back. This year, Tre is going to be here from the start and likely better than we last saw hm, and our young guys have more experience. So I think we can say we are better this year at corner than how we opened the year last season. Agreed Agreed Disagree - Slightly worse: Von is now 34 and coming off an ACL and we don't know when he will be back or what his play will be like. His last 5 games before injury he only had 9 tackles and 2 sacks. Tall ask to still be elite at age 34, let alone being 34 and coming of an ACL in the 2nd half of last season. So until we see when he gets back and what he has in the tank, I cant say "same" here and will go with slightly worse. Agreed, although I think we are better now than in season last year not having the distractions and his elbow injury. I think slightly better here...mainly because Cook will be heavily involved out the gate where last year he was not and now Hines is here for a full offseason for Dorsey to better incorporate into the offense. And I think Harris is a worthy replacement for Singletary, so don't expect any drop off there. Agreed Agreed, although I actually think we are even better than that...I would say "better" instead of slightly better. Shakir has experience now and should be incorporated into the offense this year at the slot spot. Harty IMHO is an upgrade to McKenzie, and Sheffield is better than people realize and could push Davis if he doesn't take a step forward. I think overall our OL is a little better. I will give OT slightly better vs same because I think Spencer Brown will by default be better than he was last year assuming what Beane said was true, that his previous injuries were limiting him last season. Plus the interior will play better too, which should help him. And I do expect us to still add some more help in the draft here too, so going into this season I will have more confidence in the OL to be better than last season.

No need to discuss the guys in round 1 and 2, this is a pretty good consensus in no particular order who those guys are. BUT, what if we don't land a WR in the first 2 rounds nor land a vet like say Hopkins? They guy IMHO that is not getting enough discussion and has the potential to be a day 3 steal is: KAYSHON BOUTTE, LSU Coming into this past season, he was expected to be a first round pick, maybe the best WR in the class. He was coming off a serious injury and this season wasn't quite what it needed to be. But all the skills and star potential are still there, and coming into the NFL now a full year removed from that serious ankle injury, this guy has a ton of potential to be the steal of the draft. Granted, I know there are some rumblings in terms of character concerns, but honestly coming in and learning from someone like Diggs could be the ideal fit for him. I have total confidence in our locker room, and even more confidence in that WR room that the right environment is in place for this kid to excel. I would take him as early as the third and would run to the podium if he was there in the 4th or 5th rounds. I hate to use this comparison both because this guy is one of the best to ever do it and also an absolute nut job...but there are times watching him on film that his game reminds me a bit of Antonio Brown. He is the definition of a boom or bust prospect, but I think the potential reward out weights the risk if we don't land a WR earlier in the draft or say via trade like Hopkins.

Thats what I figured. Ive been trying to talk myself into the $15 a month ad free YouTube premium, but $15 to remove an ad I can skip after 5 seconds seems steep. But if it had gotten me the discount on Sunday Ticket, then boom, value met and I was all over that ha. Guess I will just have to keep skipping the stupid ads lol

My wife works for Spectrum Sports in marketing, so we get Spectrum for free as a result and just use the Spectrum App on my AppleTV to watch TV if we aren't using another streaming app. So I have no need to get a YTTV subscription...BUT...I do watch a ton of content on actual YouTube and the YouTube app (not YouTube TV). Especially poker, cooking videos, comedy clips, etc. Its kind of my go to in bed at night when going to sleep. But I hate all the ads...so wondering does anyone know if I subscribe to Ad Free YouTube which is $15 a month if that qualifies for the subscription discount of $249? Or does it have to be the cable package replacer of YouTube TV which is much more expensive obviously.

Didn't see this posted...interesting. Says he learned how to fall, but had considered retirement and had talks with his family on it. Ultimately, it seems his main motivation is to play long enough so his son knows what he is seeing when watching him play. Focused on learning how to fall to try and protect himself more, but that is easier said than done when it comes to real live action in a game where you often don't have a choice in how you fall or your head hits the ground. Based on his comments here, I think it is safe to say that if he can't shake the concussions that retirement is probable from him. Which would be the best choice for him and his family to avoid long term issues, so hope it doesn't come to that for his sake. It was hard to see how bad he was getting hurt last year with those head injuries. This...its utterly amazing how much nonsense is spread on Social Media or twisted into something more than it is. There is nothing to see here. Last year Diggs said Josh Allen saved him and his career and that he loves him for that and that hasn't changed because the whole team had a tough outing against Cincy.

Wasnt negative from me, I almost threw a party to celebrate Frazier wasn't calling the defense this year. That IMHO is best improvement to this team heading into 2023. I have so much more excitement and confidence in McD calling the D than I did watching Fraziers playoff defense collapse and get abused year after year. I am quite excited to see McD call the D this year personally. Maybe it works out, maybe it doesn't. But it at least feels good to be doing something different than doing the same thing over and over again with Frazier that has been a disaster 3 straight playoff losses.

I don't think it has much to do with "trends" and is instead more about it just being a rare occurrence that an NFL team can reunite first round talent pairings of QB and WR from the same college team in the NFL. Think about what that takes...Like this year, when both are coming out same year and both are top first round prospects, a team will need 2 first round picks in that specific year, and in draft slots where they can realistic draft both players. Texans this year have #2 and and #12 making it possible given both are coming out at the same time. But that perfect storm of circumstances is pretty extraordinary to already have. If said team did not have 2 first round picks, it would then require them to make some sort of big trade up just to get the 2nd guy (likely the WR). Then you have the scenario where the QB and WR aren't both in the same draft. That means a team has to draft one of them in one draft, and then be in the right draft slot in a future draft to land the other. Of course said team also has to need/want a player at the position in that draft spot too instead of someone else at OL, Edge, DT, CB, RB, etc. Like the Bengals did with adding the QB first in Burrow, then Chase the next draft. That is why I think it really isn't about trends, more about how rare the opportunity arises where pairing a top end college QB & WR in the NFL actually occurs. There are a lot of circumstances that have to happen for that to become possible.

I don't know all the ends and outs that would need to happen, but just saying that he wont be coming here under the contract terms he currently has. That is for Beane to figure out as a cap management expert on what can be done to afford bringing him in. End of the day, if they can't figure out the numbers, he won't be coming here because I think there is very little chance Beane trades for him at his currently salary the next 2 seasons.

I get what you are saying, and not saying Von is doomed. But, an ACL tear is an ACL tear. As far as Tre goes, not sure the meniscus had much to do with his delayed return and sub par play once he returned. I had a meniscus surgery and went on a bar hopping bike ride for 18 miles just 20 days after surgery. Totally get why you still see Von is elite based on last season, but if we are being honest, a lot of that was front loaded in the first part of the season. Von only had 2 sacks and 9 tackles in his last 5 games before getting hurt. Not sure I would refer to that stretch of 5 games as elite level production. He certainly looked elite at times, especially earlier in the season. But as the season wore on, his impact lessened and I remember some games where a lot of us were wondering why he wasn't showing up more. So for me, its a lot to ask to expect any 34 year old DE to come back and still be consistently at an elite level over a season and playoffs. To expect one coming off an ACL injury to be elite still at age 34 is an even bigger ask. And to think he can get that injury in week 10 and then be back at an elite level to start the season feels like a stretch. I am rooting for Von, so fingers crossed he beats the odds and can get back to being at an elite level for us this year. But I definitely think bringing him along slow using PUP list and getting into form and having fresh legs ahead of playoffs is the better plan than trying to get him out there as soon as possible.

He wasn't 34 years old in 2013 though. Tre White in his prime was a shell of himself coming back last year and came back way later than he or anyone else expected too. So while I remain hopeful, I am also not banking on a 34 year old to recover the same he did when he was in his early 20's or be the same player after injury either.

I dont think there has ever been a scenario though where we trade for Hopkins and keep his existing contract. Any acquisition of Hopkins would include some sort of reworked deal and also likely include AZ eating some of his salary.

While I do not expect us to both trade for Hopkins and draft a 1st round WR, I think your "why" here is incorrect. It would be absolutely ideal to trade for Hopkins and also draft a first round WR. Hopkins is more of a 2 year plan if we trade for him, and Diggs is only 6 months younger. Those guys are not here for "years to come", in fact, I don't expect Diggs to be here more than 2 to 3 more years between age and contract size, and I would think the same for Hopkins. Any young WR we took now would be groomed to take over as WR1 in the next 2-3 seasons, which is about the time WR's really start reaching their peak most often anyway. However, there is no way we trade for Hopkins and draft a WR in round 1 because we can't afford to invest that much into the position right now. We have too many other needs to do both. If there is any chance we are still considering a Hopkins trade, I have a feeling Beane wants to see how the draft falls first. If the reports are true that they love Addison, I have no doubt they would prefer to make a trade that landed them him with his rookie price for 5 years than make a big trade for Hopkins costing them money and draft capital for say 2 years. Not to mention the increased risks with injury as players age. If the board falls in a way where Beane misses out on one of the WR's he covets, then I think he might take another look at Hopkins potentially and see if he can get a deal there he is comfortable with.

I mean that is great and all, but TO didn't do anything in his chances with the CFL and the fan controlled league in his most recent attempts to play. He has no shot of winning a roster spot on an NFL team. Its one thing to run fast in a straight line in shorts, it is a whole other thing at 48 to make violent and hard cuts in pads with full contact. Not to mention, hand eye coordination significantly degrades with time too. That being said pretty impressive 40 at age 48...he is just not a football player anymore.
