  1. I agree about Purdy...what will he do once now that there is tape on him is a good question. The main point for them is that they don't need a QB that can say do a lot, just needs to be the anti-Jimmy G where Jimmy G was a literal statue in the pocket and might have the worst pocket presence of any starter in the NFL. That is why Purdy made such a difference, and both him and Lance will still have that mobility as part of their game and then really only need to be able to handle short strikes with that running and YAC offense built around them. So that for me is what makes the Niners still the most dangerous team. It's the kind of team that could get to the SB with even a below average starter at QB. If either Tre or Purdy can just be average/solid, that team will be very hard to beat. Kind of like the Ravens when they had Trent Dilfer...the Niners are just so good everywhere else that they can mask some deficiencies at QB. TBH, their 3rd QB is Sam Darnold now too. And while Darnold has not been good in his NFL career, if he had to play there I think its possible he could actually do alright himself as he won't be asked to carry the offense or be a high volume thrower. And I suspect Purdy is going to start the season on PUP List or IR as I don't think he will be ready week 1. So I think its probable that Darnold starts the season as the #2 QB. And if the Niners do see one of their QB's come in and play well (like Purdy was last year before injury), then they are IMHO the hand-down favorite to rep the NFC in the SB, even if Eagles get Henry. Injuries are absolutely a legit concern with them, they have been through the ringer with injuries multiple years now. So yeah, I have them as the NFC favorites assuming they are not crushed by injuries again.
  2. People keep forgetting just how good the 49ers roster is. I mean its nasty good and the nastiest defensive unit in football heading into this new season. They get no love because of the question marks at QB, but Purdy was literally Mr. Irrelevant and turned them into a machine. They don't need a superstar QB, they just need someone who has some pocket mobility and can facilitate the quick strike attack. And regardless if Purdy is ready week 1, he will be ready at some point this season and will be their most likely QB in the playoffs. Then you still have all the potential and upside of what is Tre Lance. if Tre starts the year off and that offense excels with him at the helm, he may not even relinquish the job and then you gotta defend all those weapons and Tre running. I would bet on the 49ers representing the NFC next year before I wager on the Eagles even if they get Derrick Henry. People forget the Eagles lost a lot of key players, especially on defense this year. They had a wicked run game last year, its not like Derrick Henry is giving them something they didn't already have.
  3. Im not saying he wouldn’t incorporate it, I am saying it’s not going to become a focal point of this offense like so many people keep saying it will if we take a TE in the first.
  4. There is no chance what so ever the Bills offense is switching to primarily 12 personnel to where Washington got 10+ TDs. This isn’t Madden where you just click what ever playbook you want. Dorsey is not going to scrap his entire offense, the offense Allen has excelled in, the offense that has been the top offense over the last 3 seasons to switch to 12 personnel full time for a rookie TE just because there wasn’t a better option at pick 27. PS: Try and find a SB winner whose primary offense was 12 personnel.
  5. Lions, chargers, ravens, or vikings
  6. Huh? You think Washington would have 10+ TDs as a rookie behind Knox? You realize Knox has never gotten even 70 targets right? He also still had 15 TDs the last 2 years. There is absolutely no way Washington gets 10+ TDs this year unless Knox missed most the season with an injury, and even then it would be unlikely.
  7. Well this didn’t take long for OBJ to bring some drama to Baltimore lol Better them than us
  8. He wasn't charged by anyone. The poster said we "drafted a rapist punter" when referencing our dark side of the franchise. I don't care that 2 other teams heard something, the fact remains, the Buffalo Bills did NOT know of the allegations on draft night and then willfully drafted him. Like most the world, they found out after the draft.
  9. Depends on if they like any of the QB's available to them and if they feel Malik can still develop too. If I was to make a wager then I would probably place it on them taking an offensive lineman at 11. But, I was only saying Bijan would potentially be an option at 11 if they traded Henry before the draft just based on the style of offense they play.
  10. What are you talking about? Josh Allen was almost the #1 overall pick, its not like anyone expected him to go late in the draft. There was still Darnold, Rosen, and Lamar too. You don't take a RB 2nd overall in a rich QB draft class when your team needs a QB. Your reply makes no sense what so ever. All I said was taking a RB in the first is NOT always wrong. You know the first round has 32 picks in it right? LMAO. And I said Barkely was a top 10 talent, but it was NOT correct to choose a RB over a QB in the top 10 when your team needed a QB. I guarantee you if you polled 100 GMs all 100 would say the same thing. But that didn't mean Barkely is a mistake to take in the top 10 if another team needed a RB and had chosen him if the Giants were smart enough to go QB instead of Barkley.
  11. True, but it wouldn't rule out the Titans taking Bijan at 11. Henry would be a scary addition to that offense, but they lost some other pieces this year too that were significant players for them last year.
  12. Its a rumor that has been going around since last night...wonder if this one has teeth or not. Derrick and AJ Brown have the same agent.
  13. Good luck with your surgery bud! Hope it goes well, sending good thoughts and best wishes your way.
  14. I don't disagree with this, however, if Bijan fell to us at 27 he will be without question the BPA and I always advocate hard for taking the talent over reaching elsewhere. And I would absolutely take him there. But, we are a downfield passing team, and I don't expect that to change even if we added Bijan. I also feel pretty comfortable with a RB room of Harris, Cook, and Hines already, so I don't feel any pressure on this team to need to get a RB early. It wouldn't suprise me though if they went after Bijans backup, RB Roschon Johnson in say the 3rd or 4th though with all his versatility and special teams value.
  15. Your post was solid until this. Way too early to know if Bills should have taken Hall instead of Elam. Hall tore an ACL and Elam flashed while also showing areas to grow. One thing I know, is no one studies harder than Elam, and if he reaches his potential, hands down he is the much better choice over any RB. And the trade for CMC was an awful trade in terms of what the Niners gave up for any other team other than the Niners. CMC would have been a 1 year rental for us and the Niners gave up a bounty. We would not have the money to retain him and still build out the rest of the roster. The Niners are not paying a big QB contract and have an entire offense built around the run game and short passes, a game CMC was tailored made for. The Bills would not have used CMC to the same degree here either. In terms of the rest of the post...I disagree with those tweets too, there is no logic to pass on a RB in the first round. Someone showing statistically its a higher risk pick does not equate to every pick busts or doesn't return value. So when there is a special prospect available, passing on him is not automatically the right choice because he is a RB. For example, if Bijan falls to us at 27, Bills should sprint to the podium. Now where I think it comes into play more is let's say for example you are picking in the top 10 and there are stud prospects at OL, Edge, CB, DT on the board along with an stud RB prospect and your team also has needs at those other spots. I would have a hard time prioritizing the RB there when those other positions are probably a more pressing need and higher priority. But if I was picking in the top 10 and the BPA was a RB and that was also my teams biggest need, the team should take the RB. A perfect example is Saquan...Giants were morons for passing on a QB with having Eli on one last leg during a QB rich draft (could have landed Allen) to take a RB. However, it was not wrong for Saquan to be drafted in the top 10, he was that good and proved to be that good in the NFL. Just specifically having the 2nd overall pick and taking a RB instead of a QB to groom for a season behind Eli was definitely a mistake. Especially when you see Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson were still on the board. Then again, if they favored either Rosen or Donald, then Saquan worked out to be the better choice lol even the fundamentally it was still a bad strategy. HOWEVER, it was not a mistake for Saquan to be drafted in the first round or even top 10, he proved to be worth the early selection. I am not advocating for drafting a RB in the first round, I am just pushing back on those tweets trying indicate its always wrong to pick a RB in the first round. Which is just a stupid notion.
  16. Here is where I am at in relation to the TE position. We definitely need to add one, so not at all against drafting one. But...I don't see us running a lot of 2 TE sets with Dorsey, so using a pick early in the draft is going to result in us taking a first or 2nd round player to be a backup to Knox who he himself only got 65 targets last year in Dorsey's offense. That being said, I am a big believer in talent and BPA...if while on the clock in 1st or 2nd round the BPA was clearly a TE, then I would not have an issue taking the TE over reaching for someone else. But in my opinion, a WR, LB, or OL would help our team more than a 2nd TE when our highly paid starting TE has never gotten even 70 targets in a season the past 4 years.
  17. Not picking on you, I see a lot of people say this...But...How do you know that is a reality? Knox leads the team in Catch % the past 2 seasons and has 15 TD's despite minimal use as a receiving weapons. For comparison sake, Kelce got 2.5x more targets than Knox has the last 2 years. Yet Knox still has 15 TD's. You can't be great statistically when the offense you play in doesn't prioritize throwing to the TE. You want more production from him, then fix the OL so he doesn't have be used as often as an extra blocker. Look at SF...no one will argue that Kittle isn't a top TE in this league...his stats though were minimal until Jimmy G got hurt. When the Niners had Jimmy G back there, they needed to use Kittle more as a blocker to try and keep Jimmy G clean on pass attempts because he is a statue in the pocket. The moment Brock Purdy took over and brought pocket mobility to the offense, they got Kittle more targets and Purdy took them and Kittle has a substantially more productive end of the season. Knox can't catch what isn't thrown to him, but when he has been targeted he has led the team in catch rate and produced 15 TD's the past 2 seasons. And honestly, if Dorsey had not ignored Knox was on the team for the first 3/4 of the season, he would probably be at 20+ TD's the past 2 seasons. If you increase Knox from 65 to 100 targets, his stats would put him top 5 in the league at TE and would be close to leading all TE's in TD's.
  18. Crazy how he goes into detail about the deep Rift he has with Diggs in this and spills the Beans on Britt drama and how it affected the Bengals game
  19. I don't understand why so many like to exaggerate this because its not accurate. In 5 drafts, he used our first pick of the draft on Allen and one on Diggs (offense). You don't get to remove the fact we used one on Diggs, when Beane was trying to get a WR in the first and specifically said the guys they were targeting were not expected to reach them. So he traded our first to get an elite proven WR who was still young. 2 drafts he used our first pick in the first round on offense...3 drafts we went defense. And our offense has been top 3 in the league the last 3 years. DE was our biggest need when we went DE and CB was our biggest need when we went CB. People act like we just made luxury picks on defense or something, those picks were made to directly improve the weakest parts of the team.
  20. Easy with the drafting a rapist punter...he was cleared for one, and two the Bills didn't draft him knowing he had those allegations, so they just drafted a punter...they did not draft a punter accused of rape. That didn't come out until after the draft.
  21. My comments were not really directed at you...its more directed at a few people who are in this thread and many other threads taking every negative angle on even topic they can. So apologize if it came across to others with normal concerns, I should have been more specific in who I was speaking too. But, going back to your OP...no offense but it comes off as very much trying to over analyze every word being said by Josh as if there is all these hidden messages in it to enforce your concern there could be a rift. I actually watched the whole Allen interview live, and nothing he said remotely felt like it was scripted, coaches speak, covering something else up, etc. He was all smiles and in great mood and space. I don't blame anyone for their initial concerns, its more about the ones still trying to force this narrative to still be in place. But nothing has happened, he didn't get traded, he didn't ask for a trade, Diggs has never said anything negative about Josh, and Josh has never said anything negative about Diggs. There is honestly not even any evidence proving there was even any initial rift, let alone an on going one. GoBills!
