  1. Agreed, and I am surprised there are 12 votes for lineups in the poll that doesn't include Torrence. Our guard play was so bad last year I feel like any guard off the street at any moment could have stepped in and not been any worse. Sure, it's possible Torrence struggles in camp and preseason and they go with veteran presence and bring Torrence along slower. But IMHO, Torrence is just too good of a prospect to where I find a hard time seeing him start the season on the bench while one of the lesser inspiring veterans start. IMHO, if Brown can build on the potential he showed as a rookie and put last year behind him, our OL has a shot at being significantly better this year. Brown is the key, because by adding both McGovern and Torrence, along with Bates, our guard spot now has depth and I am sure we can find a 2 man combo amongst those 3 that will be better than any combo at guard we trotted out last year. But RT is still biggest question mark where I don't know if we have a quality option there until we see what version of Brown we get as there isn't much behind him to make you feel comfortable if Brown struggles.
  2. Oh my...this is like one of those PPP threads that never die I assumed this was sarcastic, but then someone hit the agree button. So is this Adams comment a joke or is there something I missed?
  3. Saw this, pretty awesome...although good to keep some perspective. While he did hit 4 homers, it wasn't exactly a hitting clinic...but still the kid hadn't swung the baseball bat in 8 years, so impressive none the less. He did however bomb one of those homers 489 feet, longer than Judge's homer later in that game ha. Dude is just a stud. Back in the "wrong Josh" era from draft through his rookie season...this is one of things I kept hammering home to that hysterical crowd...Josh did NOT focus on football in high school, he was a multi-sport athlete in tiny town in the middle of nowhwere. It is why he didn't have recruitment options and wound up a JUCO before going to Wyoming. And because of this, Josh had never really been exposed to high level coaching, he was succeeding on the core of just his raw talent and ability. Then I would point out to the substantial amount of improvement between his last game at Wyoming and the combine just from the short time working with Palmer. That would be further seen through out his rookie year where he took major strides back side of the season after coming back from injury. The kid is just a pure athlete and competitor. Wouldn't trade him for anyone, he will be HOF player by the time his career is done.
  4. Yeah, like the Murray signing, I posted that before he was signed. Murray was a nice insurance add
  5. I am rather enjoying the discussion my self If I am being honest, I feel like you are coming off way better now than how you were phrasing your posts earlier. These are well thought out and put together thoughts and fair opinions. Movie is easy...that is a comedy classic and definite big fan of My Cousin Vinny Fair point, except this is how you see it: There are ST players whose position designation is a formality (as they are ST guys mainly) and then there are positional guys who also can contribute on ST. Kumerow, Taiwan, etc are ST guys whose positional designation has little meaning and will offer little to nothing there. Sherfield to me is a WR who can also contribute on ST's. I don't see the gap that concerning considering they force fed Hill and Waddle so much and they still also made efforts to get the run game going. And there is still the factor too of the much lower QB play given how much time Tua missed where lesser QB's are even less capable of spreading the ball around. Bingo, we are right in line here...Dorsey is a major question mark for me. Can he properly use the guys on the roster, get them all involved, is a LEGIT question mark based on last year. He is definitely the biggest threat to guys like Sherfield and Harty getting involved in the offense. Dorsey struggled last year to get Knox, Shakir, Cook, Hines, etc more involved in the passing game when we needed those guys to be. There isn't a lot wrong with this order, but its also not as black and white as it reads. Diggs and Davis are the clear WR1 and WR2 heading into camp, and without injury it will be week 1 too. However, Davis struggled last year, his reputation is bigger than his on field results. If he resembles last year, then I think Davis WR2 spot becomes more reminiscent of Sanders/Davis role in 2021 where Sanders was the WR2, but as the season went on Davis went from little opportunities to eating into some of Sanders targets as he got more playing time when the offense saw a boost from him being more involved. So I can Sherfield getting some of Davis's targets potentially too. But further expanding on the list not being so black and white, we still spread the offense out and not only run 3 wide sets, but 4 and 5 wide too. Allen likes to spread the ball around too, and at other positions where we have been deeper in the past on both sides of the ball, we used more of a rotation than a set depth chart to keep guys fresh. This is probably the first year where we have that luxury at WR. So Sherfield (under the assumption he produces when given opportunities) should see some opportunities to make some plays even if Davis bounces back. I was high on Davis heading into last year, no so much this year. I remain cautiously optimistic, but the lack of progress from him concerns me after 3 years. His low catch rate is a career long issue, and he has a bigger reputation than he does big games. I am skeptical we will pay him what he likely commands in FA next year, and even more skeptical we would pay him if he has a big year given we probably cant afford him in that case even if they were willing to pay it. I loved the Shakir pick (thought he would go 2nd-3rd round) when we got him, and I am still high on him now. That being said, as much as I like him, he hasn't proven anything yet and has one of the lowest target rates per routes run in NFL history which makes me a bit concerned if he is getting open enough or if Josh just wasn't looking for him because he had other open guys. So I am still optimistic about Shakir, but he is still a question mark until he proves it on the field like anyone else. Yeah I don't have some unrealistic expectation here of Sherfield being some game changing addition that puts up 800+ yards, that is just impossible with all the mouths to feed. Lets not forget, our RB's Cook and Hines should also see more targets too this year. But I do think Sherfield is a clear upgrade to Kumerow and good insurance if Davis falters or we have any injuries. Love the bet...which for every intent is just to be fun, not to be proven "right" as none of this is certain, just all fun opinion. I agree to it, and look forward to seeing me win it by week 5 hahaha.
  6. My favorite post of the week...hahah kudos sir, well played I literally LOL'd
  7. Good and fair reply here...lets discuss a few of these points 1, what I bolded above is still better than Davis with Davis playing with a much better QB. Being good on ST is not a kiss of death IMO, that is how you carve out a role and contribute more when you have guys entrenched above him. In SF, he was stuck behind Deebo and Aiyuk. In Miami, he was stuck behind Hill and Waddle. And while he was in SF, he was outplaying everyone in camp and preseason, but he had no shot to play because of the draft capital invested in the guys above him that he was out playing. So the fact he put the work in to earn more time and a spot through ST is something I look as a positive from him both in work ethic and attitude. Shakir stats last year have no bearing here...and that is because Dorsey just didnt use him, nor did this team even really use Cook for a large portion of the season as rookies. Shakirs reps were being taken by McKenze and then Beasley. Sherfield this year will be a #3 WR behind Diggs and Davis, and unlike Kumerow, he was signed here to be a WR where as Kumerow was a backup in terms of technicality, but was mostly entirely here only for ST's play. Sherfield will get more time on the field as a WR than Kumerow ever did. The bolded above...this isnt a fair comparison given the nature of Davis role in the 2nd most prolific offense (only 2nd to KC by just 10 points over the past 3 seasons) in the NFL during Davis time here. Davis also saw injuries to John Brown as a rookie, Sanders in his 2nd year boost his reps and opportunities on the field. Then he was a full blown #2 WR last year. BUT...do you know that in 3 seasons, Davis only has a total of 3...just 3...100 yard games, one in each season? The amount of big games and big plays gets grossly exaggerated around Davis given the opportunity he has had and in the offense he plays in. Sherfield has never been the opportunity to either play with a QB like Allen nor have a role anywhere near Davis given he was buried behind very good to elite WR's his whole career. I not only wanted, but fully expected, we were drafting JuJu when we traded up for Zay Jones. I had Zay as 3rd or 4th round WR that year. I talked myself into optimism, I mean he did have all those catches. But you can check my posting history, I was very critical of Zay from the moment he totally lost us the game against the Panthers as a rookie when he ran a terrible route, almost tripped on his own feet causing him to stumble and drop the perfectly thrown game winning TD by Taylor. People tried to blame Tyrod and say it wasn't a good throw until you watch the replay and realize it was thrown EXACTLY to where Zay was supposed to be, but Zay ran an awful and sloppy route putting him in a position that made that dropped catch a harder ball to catch. He would go on to continue to have many struggles throughout the season. I even posted a "calling it now" thread predicting the end of Zay in Buffalo the year we got rid of him during that offseason. Didn't love the pick when it happened, and didn't think he was good enough during his time here. To be honest, that is a realistic stat line here too. Again, not saying that Sherfield is a future pro bowler here, the facts of the matter there are a lot of mouths to feed on this team, everyones personal stats I expect to go down from last year with the probability we will run a little bit more (Drafting Cook last year, adding Harris, then adding C'Yrus), then upgrading from Kumerow to Sherfield, upgrading from McKenzie to Harty (I do think Harty has more to offer as a WR than McKenzie), having Shakir entering as the primary slot WR, and now having Kincaid to split time in the slot as a Big Slot and also a 2nd TE in 12 personnel packages. For Anyone other than a primary target to have an impressive stat line, it would take injuries creating opportunities. But I do think its a lock for Sherfield to get over the 10 catches you mentioned, and I do think during the season we will see Sherfield make some nice plays and have a few exciting moments. Don't get me wrong, I totally agree that stat line is not going to happen...UNLESS another factor is in play like injuries play a role to create more opportunities or someone like Davis really struggles again and he starts cutting into his targets. I love this wager...this is what I meant by friendly, and love that it goes to a charity. I agree to all your terms, they are very well thought out and fair. The one clarity...is if he is cut because he missed time in camp/preseason with an injury it nullifies the bet. He has no experience on this team, with Allen, or the playbook...so if he falls behind due to injury, like many guys, their spot could be in jeopardy with this loaded roster. But if he is cut because he didn't earn a spot, absolutely I should lose that bet.
  8. No disrespect, but your posts and comments like the bolded sure make it seem like you don't really know anything about his story, circumstances, skill set, etc and have not really seen him play, if at all. You are coming across to me as a "never heard of the guy, so let me look at a stat sheet to see if he is any good" poster here in this thread. Maybe I am wrong, but that is how you sound in your posts. And while stat sheets can be useful, they can also be unreliable because they also do not always tell the whole story and lack contect. So I won't spend the time trying to argue or convince you there is more here than what you see on a stat sheet, but I will say I look forward to seeing your updated opinion of him after you see him in this offense on the field. I am pretty confident this kid is better than you think, and I have a pretty stellar track record around here regarding WR's. No one is saying he is the next Stefon Diggs, but this kid can play and he is certainly an upgrade to Kumerow backing up Diggs/Davis on the outside. JUST FOR FUN: Since you basically suggested the over/under on total receptions is at 10 catches by saying you will be stunned if he even gets 10...I will make you a friendly wager (you can pick the amount we bet) on the over/under bet of 10 catches...under 10 you win...10 we push, over 10 I win. Let me know if you are interested, would be a fun bet.
  9. I have continuously told people this guy is better than people think all off-season. His story going back to SF is fascinating, and while I am hoping for a Davis bounce back season, Sherfield for me is someone who can push Davis for reps and targets if he doesn't and is more of the same last year. To be totally honest, if it was a battle for WR2 between Sherfield and last years version of Davis, my view would be that Sherfield is capable of winning that battle. I am not suggesting Sherfield enters week 1 as WR2 or anything, just saying that he is good insurance IMHO if Davis struggles from last year persist again this season.
  10. Bahahahaha, this one made me laugh out loud literally, well played Im glad it wasn't you then 🤣
  11. That is a fair point, however, Teo dealt with a lot of injuries to be fair though which certainly played a role in his career too. In terms of Araiza, Bills have a punter, there is no reason to sign this kid given we just extended our Punter who was very good for us. I don't say that coldly, because if we still were unsettled at Punter, I would advocate to give Araiza another shot here. But Sam came in and played very well for us, not fair for him to lose his job or have his job in jeopardy either after earning his roster spot here. One would hope that people would learn from things like this, but the reality is that most won't as its sadly engrained in our society.
  12. I want to acknowledge you owning up to that mistake, sincere kudos sir. I also want to acknowledge a certain poster, who I have never named here when discussing this, that reached out to me last night with a sincere apology for his behavior towards me and others who weren't ready to condemn the kid without the details and facts first during this original time of when this came out. This was when he escalated it to him sending me a DM to fight in the lot at the next Bills game. He owned up to all that, explained he was dealing with a lot in his life at the time and that the story hit home for him and he overreacted and that it was not a representation of who he is or the kind of energy he wants to put out there. So major kudos for those who have taken the time to recognize there was an opportunity to handle or react to things better when this story first broke. Not everyone is mature enough to do that, and everyone who does has my absolute respect. Even told the person who DM'd me that all is forgotten and forgiven and hope to buy him a beer next time I am able to make a Bills home game.
  13. Araiza wasn’t at the house, they have time stamped video footage and they know what time he left. He 100% has been cleared. That I think is the point. A woman who wrote the day after the attack in her own journal that she did not know how she got in the room or who was in there, lied later and said it was Araiza. Regardless of what happened in the room, she intentionally lied about Araiza and brought a civili suit full of lies against him that cost him his career. I agree with most what you said, I am just saying in this case there is strong evidence against her to hold her accountable for what she did to Araiza specifically.
  14. Not in this case though, mountains of evidence showing it. Let’s not forget, her own Journal stated she had no idea who led her to that room. But in a civil suit for money, she lied and said it was him despite the fact he wasn’t even there.
  15. Yeah the assault comment by that poster is uncalled for…BUT she should face consequences for her intentionally ruining a man’s career over lies, even maybe should go to prison. Not only did she lie about Araiza, but the police have video evidence from inside the room from two of the alleged attackers and nothing suggests what was going on wasn’t consensual, so she may have fabricated the whole story. Then her own friends and other witnesses gave statements she was wasn’t wasted, told people she was 18, and bragged about having sex two different times that night prior to even going to that room. She was also running around the party telling people “I want you **** me, and if you don’t **** me then you are a *****.” This woman intentionally ruined a man’s life over lies, things like this should have criminal and financial consequences.
  16. I was just coming here to post this! I wonder how many people will actually read the undeniable facts that 100% clear him or just ignore them and ignorantly proclaim he’s guilty still. I can name a few that were spouting ignorance about this in the past couple of weeks proclaiming no charges filed doesn’t mean he is innocent and that he still likely did it. I was right there saying the same thing and getting flamed for having the “audacity” to suggest we wait until we have real facts before ruining someone’s life.
  17. Until Gabe Davis proves he is more than last year, the new guys and Shakir prove to have roles they can handle, and Kincaid shows he is more of a Big Slot WR than a TE, Bills receiving unit isn't going to get a ton of love from the media or outside opinions. Still graded too low IMHO, but I also don't have an issue with it. More importantly, the team at 26 is also the reigning SB champs...so this list don't mean a whole lot anyway.
  18. Beane has specifically stated their confidence in the guys on the roster replacing Edmunds this year. I mean I do get the speculation here based on the low cap hits and unsettled position at MLB, but I just think Beane more often than not says what he means. So I would be a little surprised if Beane made any trades at this point for a LB. I mean, you can never say for sure, but Beane is pretty open and straight up with things like this most the time. Next years draft is expected to be a much better draft, and with our cap space being tight and the extra draft capital heading into to it, I think Beane is going to covet the extra ammo to potentially move around that draft than make trades for players.
  19. This isn’t that complicated. Josh said this weeks ago, and he is very specifically talking about taking less hits by sliding more and getting out of bounds more on plays where he doesn’t need to fight for those extra few yards. Has nothing to do with running less. And he said when he does need those yards or that score, he is still going to be him and do what it takes to get them. But he recognizes there are many times where he doesn’t need to fight for a few extra yards and take unnecessary contact and it’s those moments he intends to be better about and get out of bounds or slide to avoid contact. And this is all Beane, McD and even his own teammates want. For him to be him and play free, but just be smart and reduce the hits by eliminating the ones where it was unnecessary or inconsequential to take them.
