  1. If we took Bowers then traded Knox to move back up in the 2nd and get someone like McConkey, Coleman, Pearsall, Polk, Franklin, etc...then I would lose my sh*t in excitement. First of all, if we miss out on either Thomas or Mitchell in the first, I would rather trade back and pick up an extra 3rd or something instead of reaching at 28, and grab one of those other WR's with the pick we traded back to. But if we could get Bowers and move Knox and still get one of those WR's then Beane is a god. Again, I think there is 0% of any of that happening...but lets say we did take Bowers, would you trade Kincaid who would fetch far better trade value than Knox?
  2. Now that we see the deals...I will take AJE at that price over Floyd at his age, price, and after a late season fall off. I wanted Floyd back too, but not at that price after he fell off and at his age. So loving the AJE deal
  3. Here is what I don't understand for Philly...they didn't start struggling because the RB position was the issue. Personally, the best RB on that roster was inactive every week in Penny. I would have avoided paying Saquan all that money, kept Penny an let him start and drafted a RB to compete with Penny on the cheap. Behind that OL Penny would eat big time, but he does have durability concerns, so that is why you draft one as well. They had way bigger issues than RB. That is a lot of money on a position they didn't need to spend that much money on. Or go sign someone like Devin or Moss to run behind that line at less than half what they paid Saquan and still draft a rookie if you want. All I know is that Saquan doesn't make them much better than last year even though he is a great back.
  4. I think we are seeing a bit of market correction where RB's got a bit undervalued, plus we are seeing some of the upper tier RB's come available where they can be a difference maker on certain teams like a Philly, Titans, or Niners who lean heavy on the run. Its going to be one of those things that fluctuate depending on the teams looking for a RB and the ones available.
  5. Yeah, I do not at all expect us to pay WR2 money...they are going to draft a WR2 who has the potential to emerge as a WR1 to take over for Diggs in a year or two. I also think they take a 2nd WR to develop as well as a potential future WR2 (like they did when they took Davis) on day 3.
  6. Love this, especially at that price. Its a win-win for both sides...2 year deal, so if AJE continues to ascend, especially with his role increasing again this year, he has a chance to cash in after 2 years. And its a team friendly deal for the next 2 years for the Bills giving us a quality DE at a good price. I would MUCH rather have AJE on this deal than Floyd on the deal he signed with Niners.
  7. I highly doubt it. He is the 2nd best FA WR left behind Ridley. Beane isn't paying a small WR double digits before a WR rich draft where we have 11 picks to move around to get a stud prospect.
  8. Not sure why we needed another thread on this...but the plan is the same as its been all offseason. Let Gabe walk, and target WR help in what is one of the deepest and riches drafts at WR for as long as I can remember. We will 100% be taking a WR early (round 1 or 2) and then likely double up somewhere on day 3. They will still sign a bargain vet at some point before the draft as well. Who ever we take early is going to start opposite Diggs this year with the hope he can develop into the heir to Diggs as WR1 as well. Shakir has alredy showed he can big a quality WR for us to build around as well and then we still have weapons like Kincaid, Cook, and Knox. The offense is good shape and will be in very good shape post draft.
  9. I wanted Floyd back because we need someone out there, but I didn't want him back for that price which is too much based on his age and drop in impact down the stretch. My wife is a die hard Niner fan, so I will still be seeing plenty of him on TV though lol.
  10. Good for him, he is an underrated RB and showed that once he got opportunities finally in Houston last year. The issue is the Giants offense still is a total mess and massive downgrade from Houston. He won't find the same opportunities there as he did in Houston, so on that note I feel bad for him that it's the Giants lol.
  11. I wouldn't have paid that much, but its not surprising when he really is the only legit quality starter available right now in FA. This is what happens when you are desperate at QB though, you pay top dollar for a 35 year old QB coming off a major injury. Cousins is a massive upgrade though, so will be interesting how that team fares now because I think they can win that division is Cousins is back to his old self quickly. They got the weapons and they had an underrated defense as it is too.
  12. I love Bowers as a prospect, sure top 10 guy in this draft, I just think there is no realistic way he ever falls to us, but you never know. So to play your game on the what if he surprises and does, I still say we trade back because I think Beane could get back a premium on someone wanting to move up and get him at that point. Now as far as what I think will happen...I cant see anyway he would get past Cincy at 18 and if he somehow did, then several of the teams between Bengals and us would also have a high chance to grab him or someone will trade up like say a KC to grab him as an heir apparent to Kelce who is a key position in their offense and probably in the last year there. He is without a doubt a top 10 prospect overall, just depends on how a team values the TE position.
  13. Lol...sorry, try again, that isn't Bingo Bongo. You forgot to subtract the team that traded for Higgins from the teams that would have taken a WR before the trade. So +1 teams by adding Cincy, but -1 team that traded for Higgins. 1 - 1 = 0. No change in number of teams ahead of us looking for a WR potentially in the first round. So like I said, its a wash. Only 4 teams draft after us, and 0% chance Cincy trades Higgins to rivals KC or Balt, and 0% chance Niners trade for him, and Detroit highly unlikely to make a big trade on offense when their defense needs so much help and are a favorite to trade for Sneed. If you still don't understand that, then I am not sure what else to tell you.
  14. Watch out for what? There is 0% chance Cincy trades Higgins to KC, the team directly in their way for the SB annually for the next 5-10 years. Same for Baltimore in their own division.
  15. Either way its good for us, helps keep the WR market from going over the top. Surprisingly, its the RB market that is going a little whacko right now with these $8M a year deals out the gate and talk over a $12M+ deal for Saquan possibly in Philly.
  16. Did you actually read my post? I literally said I thought what he got is his value. I never at all said I valued him higher, I said I expected some foolish team to over pay him if he went this early day 1. The same team that signed him just recently grossly overpaid for both Christian Kirk and Zay Jones in the same offseason like 2 years ago.
  17. While I think this is a fair deal and about what he is worth, I thought because all the other top tier FA's stayed put leaving only Ridley at the top of the FA WR list it would inflate his contract above $16M and maybe as high as $20M as there are always teams who grossly over pay out the gate and they have the higher than expected cap. I mean Zay Jones got a bigger deal than this having done a lot less than Gabe, Christian Kirk got even more at $20M per. Maybe Jags learned their lesson since they did both those over pays to stay within reason on this one. So this is good news for us as it keeps the other guys a little further down the list that the Bills might have interest in costs down now that Davis, seen as the 2nd or 3rd best FA WR coming into today, has signed a reasonable deal.
  18. Nice, this is a downgrade from Ridley, so at least we don't have to worry about them being "better" and it takes one team who was heavily seen as a candidate to go WR ahead of us now off the board. I do wish him luck though, liked Gabe a lot even though his game and limitations frustrated me many times and I felt we needed to go in another direction. Just hope he does one of those 0 catch games whenever we play him that he is known for.
  19. Cnat find anyone else reporting this, so call me skeptical it’s real until we see more buzz on this
  20. Which is why he won’t be there cuz if he starts to slide someone else well before us will trade down with someone going up to get him. He’s a top 10 player in this draft.
  21. Bengals have a lot of needs, I doubt they take a WR round 1 if they don’t trade Higgins before the draft.
  22. And the team that traded for Higgins now won’t. What part of it being a wash is confusing about that?
  23. Only if they trade him, and if they do it takes another WR needy team off the board round 1. So it’s at worst a wash for us with the possibility Bengals (who have many needs) could wait to take a WR round 2 with such a deep draft.
  24. Not Bingo though. People get this wrong all the time…the team trading for him was probably a team that was going to draft a WR if they are making a big trade for Higgins, so no it does not change how many WRs could go before our pick unless it’s a team that drafts after us which are teams that either won’t be trading for him or Cincy would never trade him to. So it’s a wash and doesn’t impact how many WRs go ahead of us.
  25. You realize Matt Ryan was a top 5 QB before Shannahan and after. In fact, 2 sesason after Shannahan left, Ryan put up nearly an identical season to his MVP season. The amount of over exaggeration Shannahan gets about Matt Ryan is insane. In fact, the fact that Shannahan is even considered a QB guru in the first place is a joke. The first QB he has ever developed in his career is Purdy. Kubiak found and developed Schaub who was as good after Shannahan left. He was only with Ryan 2 seasons in his prime who put up similar seasons without Shannahan...he was fired in Washington and a disaster in Cle before Atlanta. In SF Jimmy G was the same stiff he was when he left as when he got there. None of the other QB's panned out and he blew 3 first round picks on a QB he couldn't even develop into a backup to a 7th round QB.
